2007 Colgin "IX Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The staggeringly rich, complex, harmonious, impeccably well-balanced 2007 IX Proprietary Red Estate (1,400 case produced) exhibits aromas of spring flowers, cedarwood, Asian spices, licorice, blueberries, and blackberries. A distinct liqueur of minerals buttresses the full-bodied, massive concentration, giving an overall impression of elegance, purity, and harmony. This is another seamless tour de force in winemaking. It should drink well for 25 or more years. (RP)" (12/2009) 97 points James Suckling: "Beautiful aromas of flowers, currants, violets, and mint. The palate is incredibl ...Read More »

2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had always believed the 2007 Pinot Noir was the finest Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer had produced at their Estate Vineyard, but after doing this vertical and seeing the performances of the 1998, 2002 and 2004, that belief rings somewhat hollow. The still young, incredible 2007 has all the potential needed to achieve a three-digit rating in a few years. A dense plum/purple color is followed by notes of subtle smoke, barbecue spice, blueberries, red and black currants, flowers, and a smoky meat-like character that I first compared to the aroma of Pekin ...Read More »

2007 Sine Qua Non "Labels" California Syrah (Previously 350)

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The recently released 2007 Syrah Labels (89% Syrah, 7% Grenache, and 4% Viognier) comes from the 11 Confessions Estate Vineyard (57%), a small amount from the home estate vineyard in Oak View called Cumulus, and the rest from purchased fruit grown in the White Hawk Vineyard in Los Alamos and the Bien Nacido Vineyard in Santa Maria. A sensational effort, it is performing even better out of bottle than it did from barrel. 2007 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (96RP, 95WS, 93ST, 90CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The sensational 2007 Proprietary Red Wine (a 7,000-case blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec) is slightly more restrained aromatically than the Merlot, but there is no doubting its extraordinary bouquet of subtle smoked meats, oak, mountain wild flowers, blueberries, blackberries, coffee, and cassis. Super-rich and full-bodied with noticeable, but stunningly sweet tannins, it possesses a rare minerality and definition, characteristics that seem to be found across the board in Napa’s 2007s. This dense, powerful red needs 3-5 years of cellaring, and should have 25 years of life ahead of it ... (RP)" (12/2009)

2007 Handley Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

Wine Enthusiast: "Not especially rich, but dry and crisp and elegantly structured, a fine Pinot Noir for steaks and chops. There's a minty, herbal edge to the cherry and sandalwood flavors. Drink now." (3/2010) Wine Spectator: "Floral, jasmine and wilted rose join medium-bodied plum and black cherry in this delicate effort, ending with a nice spice and earthy touch. Drink now through 2014. (Web-2010)" K&L Notes: By now we know that cool, foggy nights and warm, sun-filled days are necessary for ripening ever-fickle Pinot Noir, which is why there are few places in California more suited to the grape than ... Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 94RP, 93ST, 92JS, 92WE) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A great wine in the making, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (just under 10,000 cases produced) possesses a fragrant bouquet of sweet black currants, crushed rocks, earth and background oak. Full-bodied and dense, with Montelena’s typical power, tannin and reserved nature, this is a big, rich, formidably endowed red that requires 4-5 years of cellaring. That in itself is atypical of this exuberant, flamboyant vintage. Given this cuvee’s past history, this 2007 should age for 30+ years. 94+ Points (RP)" (12/2010)

2007 Dehlinger "Estate" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

95 points Connoisseurs Guide: "*3 stars* Tom Dehlinger has never been one to hold back on Pinot Noir and leaves the making of delicate wine to others, and his style can be no better seen than in this bold and deeply filled effort. When, as in such stellar harvests as 2007, all the pieces fall into place, even the naysayers who cannot see past alcohol content are bound to be taken with the kind of richness and wonder-fully concentrated fruit that this deep, remarkably well-balanced bottling shows. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Shafer "Relentless" Napa Valley Syrah (96CG, 95RP, 94WS, 93WE, 91ST). Connoisseurs Guide: "***Three Stars*** It is no exaggeration to say the 2007 version may just be the best Relentless to date, but even if not, it is a deep and formidable wine by any standard. Its inky appearance correctly implies a wine of great weight and extract, but, what separates this bottling from its equally well-filled predecessors is its terrific sense of structure and balance. It is tough to be sure, but it never lets go of its plentiful, peppery, blackberry fruit, and it will not come close to showing its best until at least another decade has passed." (03/2011)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Cliff Lede Vineyards "Poetry" Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 96RP, 93ST, 93W&S, 91WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The quintessential expression of an elegant Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Poetry (86% Cabernet Sauvignon) combines elegance with power. Layered and full-bodied with an ethereal lightness as well as touches of oak and tannin, it is gorgeously pure and textured yet strikingly long and intense. Bursting with flavor, but neither heavy nor cloying, give it 3-4 years of cellaring, and enjoy it over the next 25+ years. As the results attest, owner Cliff Lede, manager David Abreu, and up and coming winemaker Michelle Edwards are all obsessed with high quality. The ubiquitous Michel Rolland is also in the background for blending, consulting, etc. The 2007s appear to be stunning efforts." (12/2009)

2007 L'Aventure "Côte à Côte Estate" Paso Robles Rhône Blend

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Just as good, the 2007 Cote a Cote starts out tight and reserved, but blossoms with time in the glass, showing incredibly pure creme de cassis, black cherry, licorice and spice-driven aromas and flavors. These all flow to a full-bodied, deep, rich and layered profile on the palate that carries beautiful concentration, excellent overall purity and freshness, and a blockbuster finish. 2007 Talley Estate Arroyo Grande Pinot Noir

91 points Robert Parker: "The 2007 Pinot Noir Edna Valley has to be one of the strongest Edna Valley Pinot Noirs that Talley has ever made. An authoritative nose of rose petal and other floral notes intermixed with boysenberry, black cherry, spice box, and forest floor notes is classic Pinot Noir at its best. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Pinot Noir Cuvee Natalie Silver Belt, which emanates from a Sonoma Coast vineyard, is made from a 50/50 blend of the Swan and Calera heritage California clones. Sweet notes of balsam wood, black raspberries, spring flowers as well as hints of cherry and blueberry are all present in this dark, profoundly rich, broad, and savory Pinot Noir. It is well-built, although still backward and needing several years of bottle-age, but it should evolve for 10-15 years. (RP)" (12/2008)

2007 Futo Oakville Bordeaux Blend

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "These proprietary reds are dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 2007 is the finest wine yet produced at Futo. A blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, a whopping 33% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Petit Verdot, it boasts a dense purple color as well as a gorgeously sweet bouquet of blue and black fruits, spring flowers, and crushed rocks, full-bodied power allied to compelling elegance, and a layered, multidimensional personality. Bid on this bottle of 2007 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 100VN, 98WS, 96JS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As impossible as it might seem, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon takes things to another level. An exquisite, celestial bouquet melds into endless layers of fruit as this rich, voluptuous wine blossoms on the palate. Full-bodied and seductive, the 2007 conquers all of the senses with its head spinning, beautiful personality. As always, Screaming Eagle is a bit more restrained next to Napa Valley's other heavy hitters, yet the pedigree of this opulent vintage comes through in spades. A kaleidoscope of aromas and flavors flows through to the creamy, textured finish. I have tasted the 2007 several times recently and it has always been magnificent. The 2007 appears to be shutting down just a touch, but that is probably a good thing for the future. (AG)" (12/2012)

The monster 2007 Petite Sirah Peterson Family Vineyard is a massively concentrated, huge, tannic wine that needs a good 7-8 years of cellaring and should keep 20 years. Sweet on entry, then a bit youthfully clenched in the middle, with a slightly edgy quality to the flavors of black raspberry, pepper, herbs and spices. Not as pliant or creamy at this early stage as the 2006 was a year ago. This structured, firmly tannic wine finishes with a light saline nuance. 90(+?)?" In fact, it probably needs to be forgotten for 8-10 years. A massive, pedal-to-the-metal Petite Sirah that looks like pen ink, the wine displays notes of creosote, pepper, spice box, blackberry, and blueberry, with hints of incense and floral undertones. Opaque ruby/purple, with notes of espresso roast, white chocolate, licorice and unsmoked tobacco as well as a restrained hint of barbecued smoke, the wine is layered, rich, full-bodied, and impressively endowed. It should evolve for at least 15 or 20 years. 96+ (RP)" (12/2010)
