2007 Bressler Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Bressler is a tiny family-owned producer of premium estate grown wines. Fruit for the Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from their vineyard on west side of St. Helena. Only 410 cases were produced of the 2007, which contains a small amount of Cabernet Franc. This is a rare From winemaker Mia Klein: "The nose has spices of clove and cedar as well as the sweetness of vanilla bean, blackberry jam, tangerine and cherry liquor. The wine fills your mouth with flavors. The tannins are extremely well balanced, smooth and seamless. The flavors are very clean with... Read More »

2007 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (97JS, 95JG, 94ST, 94W&S, 92RP, 92VN, 92WS). James Suckling: "Blueberries, currants and flowers. The nose just pops out. Intense. Full body, with a round and velvety tannin structure and lots of currants, ripe strawberries. Very intense every. Black pepper at the finish. Muscular yet toned. Very structured yet balanced. This needs a minimum of four to five years of aging. Paul Draper says that perhaps this is as great as the legendary 1991. Made for aging." (05/2012)

2007 Hewitt Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is a slightly softer, more forward wine, but it should last just as long. It is more typically Californian in its opulent black currant fruit intermixed with notes of chocolate, crushed rocks, vanilla, and black fruits. The tannins are sweeter than in the 2006, and the wine is full-bodied with a layered texture, admirable purity and depth, and a blockbuster finish with no shortage of tannin. Approachable now, it will be better in 2-3 years, and should last for 20-25 years. (RP)" (12/2009) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Offers ripe, supple plum and currant fla ...Read More »

2007 Herb Lamb "HL" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

From Herb Lamb Vineyard, source of Colgin's famous Cabernet, and winemaker Michael Trujillo. The winemaker's vintage notes: "The 2007 HL is so beautifully balanced – it has a solid core of dense fruit, but is more classic than pretty – more like the great 1997 (plush) and 1999 (firm & rich) wines. It has sweet, fruity tones, emphasized by dense black fruits. It is both fruity and chocolaty – like a black cherry pie with a rich, dark Baker’s Chocolate bar. It is already showing the velvety, textured tannins and full mouth feel of a well-balanced wine with... Read More »

2007 Provenance Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This beautiful Bordeaux blend is based mostly on Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s likeable now for the soft, refined texture and luscious flavors of tart cherry candy, accented with nearly half new oak. Shows real balance and flair, from a winery known for objective pricing. Now 2013." (01/10) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Aromas of fresh earth and mineral are taut and firm on the palate, with dried currant, sage, cedar and crushed rock. Full-bodied, tight and concentrated, ending with firm tannins that have a touch of chewiness. Drink n... Read More »

2007 Rodney Strong "Symmetry" Alexander Valley Bordeaux Blend

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "A great Bordeaux-style wine that can stand proudly next to Napa bottlings that cost far more. It's mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, with the other four permitted Meritage varieties, and there seems to be lots of new, sweetly toasted oak. The blackberry, cherry, red currant, mocha and bacon flavors are delicious, but even better is the tannic structure. It's soft and alluring enough to drink now." (12/10) According to the Wine Spectator: "Rustic, tight and chewy, featuring intense dried currant and dark berry fruit, mineral, sage an... Read More »

2007 Mount Eden "Estate" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Mount Eden "Estate" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (98W&S, 93ST, 91RP). Wine & Spirits: "Open every stop on your Cabernet church organ: Pure cassis. Mountain freshness. Baking spice. The pencil lead of Graves in that less-than-overripe varietal character. This is unadulterated Cabernet pleasure, three words that have never come together in my mind before. Grown at an elevation of 1,800 feet, 14 miles from the coast, this vineyard traces its heritage back to Chateau Margaux, where Emmet Rixford selected cuttings for La Questa in the 1890s. Martin Ray propagated cuttings from these vines to plant Mount Eden in the 1940s, replanted in the 1980s with a selection from Ray's vines. Between the cool site, the exceptional vintage and the pedigree of the vines, this is a true California classic." (10/2011)

2007 Blankiet "Paradise Hills Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Paradise Hills Vineyard Proprietary Red (60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot) exhibits abundant notes of espresso, chocolate, creme de cassis, blackberry, forest floor and graphite. Full-bodied, dense and rich, it is just beginning to reveal some secondary nuances as well as complexity. There are 940 cases of this big, rich 2007 that should continue to drink well for two decades. (RP)" (12/2010) 94 points Vinous: "Full medium ruby. 2007 Kamen Estate Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1,800-case cuvee of 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma is virtually identical, with perhaps less oak and structure. Both of these Cabernets beg for 4-5 years of cellaring, and should keep for two decades. (RP)" (2/2010) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-red. Deep aromas of raspberry, cassis, violet and minerals. In a distinctly creamy style, but with a rocky minerality and firm acidity framing and lifting the black raspberry fruit. This concentrated, mineral-driven wine shows an intriguing suggestion of grapefruit peel and finishes with noteworthy persistence." (6/2010) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Tightly w ...Read More »

2007 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 97JS, 97ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2007 Harlan Estate reminds me of a hypothetical blend of the 2002 with a touch of the controversial 1997. Dense plum/purple-colored with sweet aromas of barbecue smoke, blueberries, blackberries, cassis, licorice, hot rocks and subtle oak, it is a splendidly opulent, pure wine with a skyscraper-like texture as well as stunningly deep fruit that expands gracefully across the palate. The finish lasts nearly a full minute. Because of its overwhelming richness and sweet tannins, this brilliant wine seems to be approachable now, but I suspect further nuances and complexity will emerge after 4-5 years in the bottle. This wine will still be going strong at age 25-30. Like the offerings from its sister estate, Bond, these Harlan Estate offerings are uncompromisingly brilliant examples of Napa viticulture and winemaking at its finest. Kudos to proprietor

2007 Erna Schein "The Knockout" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points from Wine Spectator: "Smooth, rich and creamy-textured, this is supple yet builds depth and complexity, offering a mix of fresh earth, currant, blackberry and wild berry fruit, with touches of spice, hazelnut and cedar. Young and tight. Needs time. Best from 2011 through 2018. 280 cases made." (Jun. 15, 2010) 91-93 points from Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. 92 points Wine Spectator: "Intense yet elegant and stylish, this is a wine of subtlety and finesse, with a layered mix of cedary currant, spice and anise flavors that unfold gracefully, with a pleasing, lingering aftertaste. Drink now through 2018." (6/2010) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon (650 cases; 100% Cabernet Sauvignon) is more supple, open-knit and flamboyant, revealing notes of espresso roast, chocolate, sweet red and black currants and loamy soil. This beautifully textured, opulent, showy Cabernet should drink well for 10-15 years. The high quality of the 2007 and 2008 vintages ...Read More »

2007 Araujo "Altagracia" Estate Napa Valley Red

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(like the flagship wine, this was also bottled in February of 2010) Good ruby-red. Redcurrant, minerals and spices on the lively nose. Juicy and nicely delineated, with good lift and mineral grip to the currant, graphite and tobacco flavors. Very firmly built and persistent wine with a light gamey quality adding interest." (6/2010) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Altagracia (primarily Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of Merlot and Petit Verdot) is a 400-500-case second wine culled out from the 30+ acre vineyard. 2007 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma/Napa County Claret

95 points Connoisseurs Guide: "Looking over our notes for this wine, the word that stands out most prominently is "Wait". This bold and dramatic wine is so very sturdy in its build that it demands patience. Never mind, if you can, its intense aromas of black cherries, clove, briar and the riches of creamy oak and sweet loam, and look past its beginning palatal impressions of suppleness backed up by a firming spine of balancing acidity. Instead, put it away for a decade, and your patience will be handsomely rewarded. *Three Stars*" (11/2011) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Its opaque purple color is followed by a beaut ...Read More »

Bid on this magnum lot of 2007 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (100RP, 97JS, 97WE, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the perfect wines from Shafer is the 2007 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select. Think it over – in the first decade of the 21st century, Shafer scored three perfect scores and two 99s – that’s about as high a praise as I can give any producer in the world. Opaque purple in color, the 2007 has a stunning nose of sweet crème de cassis, black cherries, licorice, and toasty oak, a multilayered, full-throttle personality, and a texture that builds and builds. Great purity, fabulous fruit intensity and a richness without heaviness characterize this massive, prodigious effort from Shafer. It’s still very young, despite this vintage, which seems to be maturing precociously. I don’t believe this wine will hit its stride for at least another 5-10 years and drink well for at least 2-3 decades. (RP)" (12/2014)

2007 William Cole "Cuvée Claire" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

A fourth generation Napa Valley winemaker, owner William Ballentine, Jr. purchased a 19th century ghost winery in 1999 and since then had been crafting handmade Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay ever since. From the Robb Report: "Representing the fourth generation of his family to make wine in Napa Valley, owner and winemaker William Ballentine Jr. operates a three-acre vineyard in St. Helena that boasts a historic stone winery dating to the 1870s. Ballentine blends grapes grown in the loamy soils of the valley floor with hillside fruit cultivated in soi... Read More »

2007 Dana Estates "Helms Vineyard" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Helms Vineyard (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) has turned out even better than I predicted last year. Abundant aromas of black cherries, black currants, cedar, spice box, and licorice are followed by a wine boasting terrific intensity, full-bodied power, and an expansive, long, savory finish with no hard edges. The integration of wood, tannin, and acidity is flawless. This is a riveting example of Rutherford Bench Cabernet Sauvignon that should age effortlessly for 25+ years. 2007 Rudius Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red-ruby. Redcurrant, blueberry, tobacco, tar, licorice and menthol on the nose. Sweet and aromatic in the mouth, with good intensity and lift to the flavors of black cherry, currant and mint. Builds nicely on the back end, finishing with substantial but suave tannins and a lightly candied character. Sweeter and deeper than the 2006 version. (ST)" (6/2010)

2007 James Johnson Vineyard "Bisou" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Bisou is a gorgeous wine laced with dark red fruit, flowers, spices and licorice, all of which come together in an open, radiant style that is very appealing. This is a decidedly mid-weight, gracious 2007 that stands out for its classiness and understated personality. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. 2007 Agharta "Exhibit C" North Coast Bordeaux Blend

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Exhibit C White Label will be aged 48 months. A similar blend of 30% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, it reveals a dark ruby/purple color, a boatload of tannin and notes of black currants and cherries... Certainly it has some serious power behind it (15% alcohol). (RP)" (2/2011) K&L Notes: About the producer from Antonio Galloni: "Pax Mahle makes the Agharta wines from top sites in Sonoma. Stylistically, the Agharta wines are much richer and more textured than the wines Mahle makes under his Wind Gap label." (07/2013)

2007 Ritchie Creek Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2007 Ritchie Creek Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (92JG). John Gilman: "One of my friends out in Petaluma mentioned to me that he really liked what Ritchie Creek was still doing these days with their cabernets and was kind enough to get the winery to send me samples. I must say that he was spot on with his comments about the 'old school' wines still being made here and this was an excellent cabernet in the making. The 2007 Estate cab from Ritchie Creek comes in at a very civilized 13.8 percent ABV and offers up a classic, old school nose of cassis, black cherries, a touch of menthol, smoke, fresh herbs, gentle, youthful tariness, a nice base of soil and a stylish base of cedary new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and nicely reserved, with a fine core of fruit, ripe tannins, lovely focus and balance and a very long, primary and most promising finish. This still needs several years of cellaring to fully blossom and should age ver
