2010 Palazzo "Right Bank" Napa Valley Red

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 is another wine of great intensity but coiled, very tight, with high levels of tannin. Sensational in extraction and rchness, this blend of 72% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon is the product of a cool year in Napa. It shows fabulous density, richness, and intensity. Perhaps it will evolve somewhat like the brilliant 2005 has, but it is still excruciatingly young, intense, promising, but needs to be forgotten for at least another 4-5 years and drunk over the following two decades... 2010 Heitz Cellar "Trailside Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

94 points Vinous: "A rich, dark wine, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Trailside Vineyard possesses superb depth and texture while maintaining a classic sense of structure. Sweet dark cherry, plum, cedar, tobacco, licorice and mint all take shape as this succulent, resonant wine shows off its expressive personality. Drink this deep, pliant Cabernet Sauvignon over the next two decades. The combination of ripeness from the late season hear and structure is hugely appealing. 2010 Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is striking in its beauty. Freshly cut flowers, mint, dark cherries, cloves and violets seem to jump from the glass. A crystalline, pure Pinot, the 2010 is loaded with energy and brightness. Though medium in body, the 2010 is all about vibrancy and nuance. This is a terrific entry-level Pinot from Kosta-Browne. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2017. 2010 Rhys "Alpine Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir

94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Dark ruby. Exotic, intensely perfumed black raspberry and cherry aromas are complemented by cola, star anise and licorice. Juicy, impressively precise dark fruit flavors are lifted by tangy acidity and a slow-building blood orange quality. At once supple and lithe, finishing with outstanding energy and an array of dark berry and floral nuances. (ST)" (5/2012) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In this vintage, the 2010 Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard is one of the more immediate wines in the lineup. 2010 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Top Pick!
2010 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

96 points Vinous: "Not surprisingly, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Martha's Vineyard is the least expressive of these wines. At the same time, so much of its appeal is in its tightly-coiled energy and tension. Cherry pit, smoke, blood orange, mint and spice open up with time in the glass, but the 2010 is clearly built for cellaring. The wine's brightness and focus are compelling, but the 2010 needs time. 2010 Mount Eden "Reserve" Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Only slightly darker in color than the Estate Chardonnay, the 2010 Chardonnay Reserve is a barrel selection from the standard Santa Cruz Mountain Chardonnay that's moved to stainless steel barrels, gets a single lees stirring, and then is left alone for 12 months before being bottled. It offers rocking notes of ripe orchard fruits, honeysuckle, orange blossom and vanilla cream on the nose. These carry to a medium to full-boded Chardonnay that has terrific concentration, a layered, silky and vibrant texture and a big finish. Still youthful and vibrant, if ...Read More »

2010 Paul Hobbs Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley wraps around the palate with mocha, chocolate, violets and new leather. Despite its explosive personality, the straight Napa Valley bottling is pretty approachable for the vintage. I especially like the focus of the finish. In 2010, the Cabernet Sauvignon includes 6% Cabernet Franc. The vineyard sources are State Lane, Stagecoach and Mast. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. 92+ points. 2010 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 98JS, 95VN, 95WE, 95WS, 93CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A remarkable wine, the 2010 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select has gone from strength to strength since it was in cask. It is stunningly rich, with classic, fragrant notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, vanilla, graphite and spring flowers. It exhibits an opaque purple color, with a full-bodied, massive mouthfeel, but no heaviness, and again, a flawless integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. It’s classic California Cabernet, but beautifully put together, showing impeccable craftsmanship and fabulous potential. This is obviously a very young, infantile style of Cabernet that won’t hit its prime for at least another decade and last close to half a century, based on how older vintages that were less well-endowed have matured from Shafer. Medium+-bodied, nicely balanced and with integrated acidity, it has outstanding mid-palate density, plenty of tannin and solid finish. Made from 100% Syrah that spent 20 months in 50-60% in new French oak, it will benefit from short-term cellaring and have 15+ years of overall longevity. (JD)" (8/2015) 90 points Vinous: "Ruby-red. The blackberry and currant flavors are balanced by earthier notes of green olives, cola and dried herbs, while the oak is subtle, even though it's all new. Bob Foley (not to be confused with Foley from the Central Coast) has made wine in the Napa Valley since 1977, at Pride Mountain, Paloma and other prestigious labels. It is long on ripe cherries and sweet oak yet it is never in the least overdone, and, while showing a compelling sense of reserve, it avoids bluster or bombast. It is supple to start and then finds just the right dose of firming tannin and back-palate acid, and, if admittedly fairly showy, it has a good half-decade to go before approaching its very best." 2010 Ravenswood "Pickberry" Sonoma Red

Connoisseurs Guide: "Given its maker's predilection for wines of real substance and size and its fairly high percentage of Cabernet , it should come as no surprise that this wine does no more than hint at typical Merlot. It is built along somewhat tighter lines, and grabby tannin presently gets in the way of its fruity expression, but it is a wine for keeping rather than one for gulping down soon, and it should be left alone for upwards of five or six years at the least." 2010 Carlisle Bennett Valley Syrah
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2010 Carlisle Bennett Valley Syrah (92ST, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Inky ruby. An explosively perfumed bouquet evokes dark berry preserves, black tea, licorice and smoky Indian spices. Lush, palate-staining black and blue fruit flavors show noteworthy intensity and focus and pick up a floral pastille nuance with air. Finishes broad and sweet, leaving smoke and licorice notes behind." (05/2012)

2010 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (95RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard is a slightly tighter style of Pinot Noir, and lighter than the 2009. There is more acidity showing through, the fruit offering up various red and black fruits from pomegranate to plum to cassis, dark sweet cherries as well as foresty underbrush notes. 2010 Rhys "Family Farm Vineyard" San Mateo County Pinot Noir

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A drop-dead gorgeous wine, the 2010 Pinot Noir Family Farm Vineyard boasts stunning richness, depth and power. Juicy dark berries, wild flowers, licorice, tar, smoke and game emerge from the glass. The balance of aromatics, fruit and structure is simply fabulous. Fans of the Rhys wines will flip over the Family Farm in 2010. (AG)" (8/2012) 93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby. Intensely floral aromas of spicy red fruits and game, with a smoky topnote. Deeper bitter cherry and black raspberry flavors are complicated by anise and cola and gently firmed by fine-grained tannins. Impr ...Read More »

2010 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A kitchen sink blend of 35% Zinfandel, 26% Mourvedre, 19% Tempranillo, 11% Syrah, and 9% Petite Sirah that comes from Bill and Liz Armstrong’s (Epoch Wines) Paderewski Vineyard (4th leaf), the 2010 Paderewski Vineyard is a perfumed extrovert that delivers loads of Zin flair, with brambly black and blue fruits, licorice, charred earth, spice box, and crushed flowers on the nose. Sweetly fruited, seamless, and gorgeously textured, with a powerful, tannic, and heady finish, this hedonistic effort also stays light on the palate and is hard to resist. It, too ...Read More »

2010 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (Pre-Arrival)

93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Insignia is striking. Cool, mineral notes frame a core of blue and black fruit, licorice, spices, smoke, and melted road tar as this stunning wine opens up in the glass. Totally alive in the glass, the 2010 captures the essence of this cold, late harvest. Hints of menthol, violets and crushed rocks all flow through to the incisive, vibrant finish. My sense is that the 2010 is still holding back much of its significant potential. The 2010 is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, 3% Merlot and 2% Malbec. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2030. 2010 Kosta Browne "Koplen Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Pinot Noir Koplen Vineyard is a classic Russian River Pinot. Plums, black cherries, mint, licorice and sweet spices all flesh out in the glass. I very much like the length and overall sense of polish. In 2010 the Koplen is striking in its beautiful balance and radiant, supple personality. The Koplen is among the wines that were partially fermented in oak vats, 20% in this case. In 2010, the Koplen also includes 20-25% whole clusters. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. (AG)" (4/2013) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-red. Heady aromas of strawberry, cherry-cola, potpourri ...Read More »

2010 L'Aventure "Estate Cuvée" Paso Robles Red Blend New!
2010 L'Aventure "Estate Cuvée" Paso Robles Red Blend

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Estate Cuvee is an infant that still has a jammy, unevolved character. Showing every bit as good as when I tasted it on release, it offers up a stunning bouquet of blackberry, cassis, chocolate, graphite and liquid smoke that flows to a full-bodied, layered and decidedly pure profile on the palate. Shining as much for its elegance and purity as for its richness and depth, it possesses fine tannin, good acidity and a big finish. Give it 4-5 years in the cellar and enjoy it through 2030. (JD)" (7/2014) 94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(42% syrah, 42% cabernet sauvignon and 16% peti ...Read More »

2010 Sine Qua Non "Five Shooter" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Sine Qua Non "Five Shooter" Central Coast Syrah (98RP, 98VN, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Syrah Five Shooter is straight up gorgeous. A massive wine that somehow holds everything together, it offers a wild array of cassis, blackberry, white chocolate, underbrush and pepper that flows to a full-bodied, layered Syrah that has masses of fine tannin and enough substance to evolve for decades. A blend of 85% Syrah, 5% Grenache, 3% Petite Sirah, 5% Roussanne and 2% Viognier that was fermented with 20% whole cluster and aged 22 months in 59% new French oak, it opens up beautifully in the glass and should be decanted if drinking anytime soon. Silky and gracious on the palate, the 2010 stands out for its pure balance and harmony. Absolutely nothing is out of place. Sweet, beautifully articulated fruit, expressive aromas and a silky finish round out the impeccable Vine Hill Chardonnay. This is a wine of total finesse. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020. 2010 Aubert Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

In vintage notes focusing on Aubert's single vineyard Chardonnays (various lots of which undoubtedly comprise this appellation-wide, Sonoma Coast Chardonnay) Antonio Galloni, writing in the Wine Advocate, noted: "This is a stunning set of wines from Mark Aubert. Both the Chardonnays and Pinots developed considerably over the time I followed them. Readers should open the wines at least several hours in advance. In general, the 2010s are brighter and more focused than the 2009s, which are more generous. Alcohol levels are also lower across the board in 201... Read More »
