2011 Enkidu "Humbaba" North Coast Rhône Blend

A blend of 68% Syrah and 30% Petite Syrah with a splash of Alicante. From the producer: "The 2011 Humbabas shows its typical sweet root earthiness as in other vintages, which combine with candied cherries, toast and a little meatiness. While the texture is warm and luxurious, there is a nice backbone grip of tannin to hang the flavors on to a long finish. This Humbaba, like our previous vintages, continues to develop considerable complexity as it ages."

2011 Sine Qua Non "Patine - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Santa Rita Hills Syrah (Previously $500) Top Pick!
2011 Sine Qua Non "Patine - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Santa Rita Hills Syrah (Previously $500)

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine that needs to be forgotten in the cellar for 5-6 years, the 2011 Syrah Patine checks in as a blend of roughly 97% Syrah and the balance Roussanne and Viognier. It too comes all from the estate's Eleven Confessions Vineyard and saw 39 months in 63% new French oak. Backward, tight, concentrated and structured, with full-bodied richness and depth, it gives up Guigal La Landonne like aromas and flavors of graphite, sweet oak, smoked meats, pepper and black raspberry and cassis-like fruit. While it shows the vintage's cooler nature, it has a stacked mi ...Read More »

2011 The Vineyardist Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (Previously $100)

93 points Vinous: "The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon bursts from the glass with exotic dark fruit, expressive aromatics and tons of balance. Pomegranate, white flowers, orange peel and ash all take shape in a super-ripe, voluptuous Cabernet endowed with tons of personality and class. Sweet floral and savory notes add lift on the finish. Once again, Mark Herold has crafted a striking Cabernet at Vineyardist. The 2011 is relatively forward and should drink well pretty much right out of the gate. Yields were just 1.5 tons per acre. 2011 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

94 points Vinous: "Savory herbs, menthol, smoke and licorice are some of the aromas that open up in the glass in the 2011 Dominus. This is a relatively immediate, expressive Dominus with plenty of near-term appeal. The style is open and succulent for the year, with lovely balance and poise. Crushed rose petals and dried herbs linger in the close. With time in the glass, the 2011 fleshes out nicely. In 2011 Dominus is 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc... As always, I tasted two bottles of each wine; the first was double decanted about 18 hours in ...Read More »

2011 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (Previously 130)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The brilliant 2011 Syrah Broken Stones comes from a cooler block of the James Berry Vineyard and checks in as a blend of 78% Syrah, 18% Mourvedre and 4% Petit Sirah. Relatively forward (especially when compared to the locked up Bone Rock), with fabulous purity and freshness, it exudes notions of creme de cassis, blueberry, pepper, crushed flowers and sweet oak on the nose. Full-bodied, seamless and elegant, yet with building richness and rock star length, it’s an elegant version of the cuvee to drink over the coming 15 years or more. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2011 Kistler "Cuvée Natalie - Silver Belt" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (95VN, 94ST, 91RP). Vinous: "An eccentric, beguiling Pinot, the 2011 Pinot Noir Silver Belt Cuvée Natalie is long on personality. Heady, exotic aromatics meld into a core of beautifully layered fruit in an expressive yet weightless, ethereal Pinot that constantly changes in the glass. Game, savory herbs and tangerine peel all add nuance on the finish. The Cuvée Natalie is mostly Swan clone Pinot, with some Calera. Anticipated maturity 2014-2023. (AG)" (02/2014)

2011 Aubert "UV-SL Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aubert's 2011 Pinot Noir UV-SL Vineyard is easily the most refined of the wines in this range of Pinots. Intensely perfumed and layered -- but not at all heavy -- the UV-SL has all its elements in perfect balance. Savory herbs, licorice, mint, plums and black cherries all come to life in the glass, but ultimately, the 2011 stands out most for its silkiness, grace and exceptional overall balance. Expressive floral notes add considerable freshness on the close. (AG)" (4/2013)

2011 Rudius Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

From the winery: "In 2011 our Tierra Roja Vineyard in Oakville and our Panek Vineyard in St Helena combined to produce an expansive yet sophisticated blend that is unmistakably Rudius. This is the only Cabernet we produced from the 2011 vintage, and is a best barrel selection from our two favorite vineyards. Loaded with minerality, chalk, wild herbs and decadent blackberry fruit, this seamless Syrah will dish out loads of pleasure over the coming 7-8 years. Drink now-2021." Offering up notions of marzipan, citrus oil flowers, marmalade and spiced apricots, it flows onto the palate with full-bodied richness and depth that's balanced by beautiful underlying freshness and clarity. One of the superstars of this much maligned vintage, this beauty offers up notes of forest floor, Christmas fruitcake, cedar, blackcurrants and sweet cherries. 2011 Robert Craig Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

A blend of 75% Grenache, 12.5% Syrah, 11.5% Mourvedre and a splash of Roussanne (fermented with 11% whole clusters), it has a perfumed, complex style, with notions of black raspberry, cassis, dried flowers, white pepper and licorice giving way to a full-bodied, layered and seamless mouthfeel. There’s no shortage of fruit here, and while it’s hard to resist now, it has enough tannin to warrant short-term cellaring. It should knock it out of the park through 2029. (JD) ...Read More »

2011 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Juicy dark cherries, cloves, new leather, licorice and asphalt are all woven together beautifully in Mark Aubert’s 2011 Pinot Noir Ritchie Vineyard. Despite its considerable size and volume, the 2011 possesses stunning detail, nuance and freshness. Rose petals, violets and plums all grace a finish that stands out for its total elegance and class. I hope readers can appreciate how rare it is to find a wine with both this level of depth and nuance. Aromatically, the Ritchie Pinot has much in common with the Chardonnays from the same site, although I realize that may sound a bit esoteric. Maybe, but it’s true. (AG)" (04/2013)

2011 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard is utterly magnificent. I especially like the way the 2011 is at once unbelievably rich, but not at all heavy. Yellow stone fruit, light floral honey, nectarine and almonds inform the rich, oily finish. The 100% new barrels are imperceptible. All the elements are beautifully in place in this harmonious, voluptuous Chardonnay. This is a great, great showing from Mark Aubert. (AG)" (7/2013) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Pure, rich smoke, fig, apricot and crème brûlée flavors are deep and persistent in this white, which is slow to open but gains depth, ...Read More »

2011 Williams Selyem "Bucher Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2011 Williams Selyem "Bucher Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (92WE, 91ST). Wine Enthusiast: " *Cellar Selection* Raspberries, cherries, cola, exotic spices and sweet cedar mark the flavors of this Pinot Noir. It’s elegant in the mouth, with brisk acidity, but also a distinct earthiness. The combination gives the wine a yin-yang of weight and weightlessness. It’s too young to properly enjoy now, so drink from 2019 and beyond. " (02/2014)

2011 Aubert Carneros Chardonnay

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Chardonnay Carneros is classy, layered and exceptionally beautiful. Lemon, apricots, pears and white flowers all wrap around the palate, but what stands out most is the sheer silkiness and textural finesse of the wine. Moreover, tropical notes emerge with time, but in the end, this is a fairly restrained Chardonnay from Mark Aubert. Sweet floral notes meld into the soft, caressing finish. In 2011, Aubert lost a considerable amount of fruit in Hyde. The bulk of the wine was sold off, but Aubert bottled the best 40% and declassified it into the Ca ...Read More »

2011 Carlisle "Saitone Ranch" Russian River Valley Zinfandel
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2011 Carlisle "Saitone Ranch" Russian River Valley Zinfandel ((93-95RP), 93ST, 93VN, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Zinfandel Saitone Ranch, an addition to the lineup, is stunningly beautiful. Violets, dark fruit, olives, licorice, asphalt and tar come to life in an utterly vivid Zinfandel endowed with pure depth and precision. Layers of fruit continue to build in the glass, leading to a rich, creamy finish that is captivating in its beauty. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2026. Proprietor Mike Officer arrived with a bevy of wines for our tasting, all of which I was thrilled to sample. Readers who don’t think terroir exists in California should check out the Carlisle Zinfandels and Syrahs, many of which emerge from old-vine, heritage sites that nearly disappeared until Officer and some of his peers rescued them from the brink of oblivion. In particular, the 2011 Zinfandels are fabulous...Carlisle is resolute in keeping his wines affordable, a com

2011 Aubert "UV Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Pinot Noir UV Vineyard has more aromatic lift than most of the other Aubert Pinots. Savory herbs, licorice, mint and new leather all emerge from the glass in this layered, sensual Pinot. The UV is less overtly fruit driven, but seems to place more emphasis on the savory side of Pinot. Polished tannins support a finish laced with tar, smoke, iron, licorice and autumn leaves. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2023. (AG)" (4/2013)

2011 Linne Calodo "Outsider" Paso Robles Red Blend

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 The Outsider, my favorite of the Zinfandel dominated blends, checks in at 78% Zinfandel, 18% Syrah and 4% Mourvedre. Deep, rich and layered, with blacker berry fruit, spice box, underbrush, licorice, white pepper and meaty qualities, this complex, rich and brilliantly textured 2011 is hard to resist. Enjoy it over the coming 7-8 years or so. Drink now-2021. (JM)" (8/2013) 94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby. Cherry-cola, black raspberry, anise and woodsmoke on the highly fragrant nose. Plush and open-knit, offering powerful bitter cherry and blackberry flavors and a to ...Read More »
