2011 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 94VN, 92JS, 90ST) in original wood. Vinous: "The 2011 Opus One comes across as quite powerful and intense. Raspberry jam, rose petals, savory herbs and mint, all come together beautifully in the glass. The tannins are going to need a few years to soften, but the 2011 continues to develop very nicely in bottle. This is a very strong showing, especially within the context of the year. The 2011 is dark and even a bit rough round the edges, particularly when tasted alongside the surrounding vintages. The lithe, mid-weight, savory style is at times more Old World than New, yet all the elements are in the right place. (AG)" (12/2014)

2011 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

94 points Vinous: "Savory herbs, menthol, smoke and licorice are some of the aromas that open up in the glass in the 2011 Dominus. This is a relatively immediate, expressive Dominus with plenty of near-term appeal. The style is open and succulent for the year, with lovely balance and poise. Crushed rose petals and dried herbs linger in the close. With time in the glass, the 2011 fleshes out nicely. In 2011 Dominus is 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc... As always, I tasted two bottles of each wine; the first was double decanted about 18 hours in ...Read More »

2011 Bryant "Bettina" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (Previously $500)

90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Bettina is a strong effort in this challenging vintage. Notes of licorice, black olives, black and red currants, spicy wood and underbrush are all present in this medium-bodied, fleshy, open-knit, charming wine. Drink it over the next 10-12 years. Since its debut vintage in 1992, the Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon has always been 100% Cabernet Sauvignon made from a 13-acre vineyard atop Pritchard Hill, overlooking Lake Hennessey. Spicy, dense and concentrated, with harmonious acidity and solid underlying minerality giving shape to the apple and lemon fruit flavors. 2011 Sine Qua Non "Dark Blossom" California Grenache (Previously $300)

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Grenache Dark Blossom is probably the best Grenache-based blend in the vintage. A blend of 75% Grenache, 12.5% Syrah, 11.5% Mourvedre and a splash of Roussanne (fermented with 11% whole clusters), it has a perfumed, complex style, with notions of black raspberry, cassis, dried flowers, white pepper and licorice giving way to a full-bodied, layered and seamless mouthfeel. There’s no shortage of fruit here, and while it’s hard to resist now, it has enough tannin to warrant short-term cellaring. It should knock it out of the park through 2029. (JD) ...Read More »

Plum, black cherry, menthol, tobacco and licorice meld together gracefully as the 2011 opens up in the glass. The combination of fruit and structure is compelling. This is a fabulous appellation-level Pinot, due in part to the vineyard blend, which in 2011 includes 40% fruit from Gap's Crown, along with Terra del Promissio and Walala. Relatively forward (especially when compared to the locked up Bone Rock), with fabulous purity and freshness, it exudes notions of creme de cassis, blueberry, pepper, crushed flowers and sweet oak on the nose. 2011 Williams Selyem "Estate Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* While this Pinot isn’t in the same league as the winery’s 2011 Precious Mountain or Allen vineyard wines, it’s a gorgeous wine nonetheless. With moderate alcohol and vibrant acidity, it offers complex layers of cherries, raspberries, cola, sandalwood and exotic spices. You won’t be disappointed if you hold it until 2019." (2/2014) 91 points Vinous: "Dried flowers, wild herbs, rose petals, cherries and hard candy flesh out in the 2011 Pinot Noir Williams Selyem Estate Vineyard. Inviting and beautifully layered in the glass, the 2011 impresses for its poise, ...Read More »

2011 Anthill Farms Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

A great introduction to this small producer's Pinot Noirs, the Anthill Farms Anderson Valley bottling is made with fruit from Cerise and Leal Vineyards, fermented with 25% whole clusters and aged in 5-10% new oak. Sour cherry and forest floor aromas translate into bright red fruit on the palate, with an earthy-mushroomy mid-palate and a stony, slightly saline finish.

2011 Anthill Farms "Campbell Ranch" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red. Candied cherry, rose petal and smoky Indian spices on the seductively perfumed nose. Juicy, bright and sharply delineated, with sappy dark berry, bitter cherry, licorice and spicecake flavors. Supple and fruity but also nicely dry and linear. Finishes with sweet, fine-grained tannins and excellent, mineral-driven persistence. The balance of depth, energy and finesse here is very impressive." (5/2013)

2011 Joseph Phelps Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points Vinous: "The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon emerges from the glass with mocha, tobacco, grilled herbs, smoke, licorice, incense and orang peel. An exotic, layered wine, the 2011 impresses for its length and pure persistence. The style is that of a cold year, which means the tannins are a bit firm and in need of further bottle age. This is a beautiful wine for the year, but also in its own right. Readers need to give the 2011 at least another year or two in bottle. The blend is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot." (11/2013) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Bordeaux varietals includ ...Read More »

2011 Carlisle "Steiner Vineyard" Sonoma Mountain Syrah

90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Yet another new wine, the 2011 Syrah Steiner Vineyard presents an intriguing melange of dark fruit, savory herbs, licorice and menthol. This medium-bodied, highly expressive Syrah should be approachable upon release. The 2011 has a gorgeous core of dark red and blue fruit and terrific overall balance without too many of cooler climate, gamier Syrah notes. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2023. (AG)" (4/2013) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Dark purple. Powerful, expansive aromas of dark fruit liqueur, sandalwood, mocha, star anise and potpourri.
