2014 Honig Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc (375ml)

89 points Wine Spectator: "*Smart Buys* An appealing touch of coconut water adds some richness to the peach, melon and citrus flavors, with accents of floral, citrus zest and mango. Drink now." (11/2015) Wine Enthusiast: "This white is quite tropical, with a hot, spicy note of jalapeño. Light in terms of texture and body, it finishes with a suggestion of orange peel and mango." 2013 Geyser Peak California Sauvignon Blanc

89 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Best Buy* There was no oak used on this stainless steel-fermented Sauvignon Blanc, but it does contain a splash of Viognier. It’s dry, crisp in acidity and savory in lime, orange, kumquat and vanilla flavors that finish long and clean. It will pair with everything from bruschetta with olive tapenade to fried chicken, Chinese food and sushi." (6/2014) Wine Spectator: "A grassy, fresh hay note forms a pleasant accent to the vivid lemon and lime flavors. Light-bodied and juicy overall." (10/2014) K&L Notes: A varietal character-driven Sauvignon Blanc that combines the grape's grassy/her... Read More »

2005 Robert Foley Napa Valley Merlot

89 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The charming 2005 Merlot exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as a sweet perfume of mocha, black cherries, smoke, and earth. This fleshy, medium to full-bodied Merlot is ideal for drinking over the next 7-8 years." (12/2007) Wine Spectator: "Focused and rich, yet still supple, with ripe black cherry and toasty vanilla aromas followed by layered blackberry and espresso flavors that finish with firm tannins." 1989 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

89 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1989 Cabernet Sauvignon-Alexander Valley exhibits a spicy, vanillin, and black olive-scented nose, rich, velvety, medium to full-bodied flavors, low acidity, and a long, lush, jammy fruit-filled finish. It does not possess any of the hard tannin or hollowness that plague many 1989s." (10/1993)

2008 Porter Creek Mendocino County Old Vine Carignane

Wine Spectator: "Vivid ruby. Intensely floral aromas of raspberry, baking spices, rose and incense expand with air. Stains the palate with sweet red and dark berry compote flavors, becoming livelier with air. A vibrant candied floral quality builds on the finish and absorbs the supple tannins. While this will no doubt age well, there's nothing to prevent drinking it now." (5/2010)

2010 Herman Story "On the Road" Central Coast Grenache

89 points Wine Spectator: "A plush, opulent style that emphasizes ripeness, capturing, though not taming, the essence of plump, racy Grenache. The coarse texture provides a small quibble. Drink now through 2018." (12/2012) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "At first, the 2010 On The Road is beautifully focused, with great purity and nuance. Sweet red cherries, roses, mint, anise and spices all come together nicely in this flashy, extroverted wine. Here, too, the alcohol is evident at times, but texturally the wine is quite beautiful. The 2010 is 100% Grenache aged in French oak barrels, 40% new. Anticipated maturity: ...Read More »

1996 Vineyard 29 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

89 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full ruby-red. Plum, raspberry jam, blackberry liqueur, and spicy, smoky oak on the nose; slightly syrupy in the style of the vintage. Plump and soft in the middle, but given shape by a slight edge of acidity..." According to the Wine Spectator: "...herb, chocolate, bell pepper and currant flavors, this turns supple and polished, finishes with a leathery currant flavor. Best from 2000 through 2007. 700 cases made." (09/99)

2008 Hartford Court "Fog Dance" Green Valley Pinot Noir

89 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep red. Ripe aromas of spicy dark berries, cherry liqueur and licorice. Supple, sweet and pretty powerful, with gentle minerality giving the bitter cherry and black raspberry flavors lift and precision. Finishes long, chewy and gripping. I'd give this a couple years to loosen up." (6/2010)

2000 Turley "Vineyard 101" Alexander Valley Zinfandel

89 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium dullish red. Cherry, raspberry, dark chocolate and a meaty note on the nose. Supple and fat on entry, then a bit less sweet in the middle than on the nose and the wine's 16.6% alcohol would suggest. Rather cool flavors of strawberry liqueur and mint. Slightly dry on the finish." (6/2002) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Moderate levels of sweet and sour cherries, currants, minerals, and earth are present in the restrained, perfumed, elegant, dark ruby-colored 2000 Zinfandel Vineyard 101 (125 cases). For a Larry Turley/Ehren Jordan offering, it plays it close to the vest." (8/2002)

2001 Dehlinger "Estate" Russian River Valley Syrah

89 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium ruby. Very ripe, perfumed aromas of blackberry syrup, licorice and game. Juicy, concentrated and vinous, but I don't find a lot of syrah character. Seems a bit stunted today and doesn't quite come alive despite possessing firm acidity." (6/2004) Wine Spectator: "Appealing for its vitality and grapey, spicy, peppery and beefy scents. On the palate it's smooth, with ripe, integrated tannins and a pretty aftertaste that echoes berry and pepper." (7/2004)

2001 Williams Selyem "Vista Verde" Late Harvest Gewurztraminer (375ml)

89 (+?) points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pale green-tinged gold color. High-toned aromas of peach, apricot, clove and cinnamon. Not at all unctuous or thick; in fact a bit tart-edged, with slightly shrill flavors of orange peel and overripe pineapple framed by fresh acidity. This is even sweeter than the 2000 version at 16% residual sugar (it's carrying more alcohol as well), and yet the acids seem harder too, at least today. Additional Recommended California Wines." 2001 Williams Selyem "Precious Mountain" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

89 points Robert Parker: "One of the most expensive cuvees in the Williams-Selyem portfolio comes from their Sonoma Coast vineyard called Precious Mountain, which is planted with mixed clones at about 1,700 feet elevation. About 250 cases are produced. The 2001 Pinot Noir Precious Mountain reveals extraordinarily complex notes of minerals, earth, leather, red and black fruits, and dried herbs, a sweet entry on the palate, good underlying acidity, medium to full body, and impressive purity as well as intensity. It needs 1-3 years of cellaring, and should ... Read More »

2008 Blackbird "Contrarian" Napa Valley Red Wine

89 points Wine Enthusiast: "Lots of ripe blackberry, cherry, currant, licorice and cedar flavors in this dry, tannic wine. It’s a little rude in texture, with a jagged mouthfeel that could age out, but you never know. Give it a good long decant before serving." (12/11) From Robert Parker: "The 2008 Contrarian is a blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. It reveals a dark purple color as well as notes of roasted herbs, earth and new saddle leather. The tannins kick in in an austere manner and the wine seems to clamp down on the... Read More »
