2013 Lincourt "Steel" Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay (Elsewhere $15)

Connoisseurs Guide: "No matter that this unoaked bottling treds a direct, green apple line with few complex adjuncts in its makeup, such is the way of Chardonnays of its ilk, and this one makes a pretty good stab at capturing lively, somewhat juicy fruit. There is a not unexpected bit of fresh, slightly candied fruit here and little in the way of the rich, buttery side of the variety to be sure. Yet, all in all, this wine is both easy to take and easy on the wallet. *One Star, Good Value*" (7/2015) Wine Enthusiast: "This stainless-steel take shows lime juice, golden apples and white pepper on t ...Read More »

2014 Qupé Central Coast Syrah (375ml)

Wine & Spirits: "Bob Lindquist’s multivineyard blend has its typical savory bent in 2014-tobacco, dried herbs, bitter chocolate, tangy acidity. It’s lean and simple, a quaffable syrah for pork chops." (10/2016) K&L Notes: Qupé (pronounced 'kyoo-pay') is the Chumash Indian word for California poppy, and for many, is also the "first word" in the Central Coast area's Rhône-style wines.

2016 Tangent Edna Valley Sauvignon Blanc (375ml can)

Made by the owners of Paragon Vineyards and winemaker Christian Roguenant, this crisp and refreshing Edna Valley Sauvignon Blanc uses parcels picked at various levels of ripeness and combines them to create a wine with clean acidity and textural weight. The higher acid grapes bring citrus and herbaceous notes, while the middle portion adds ripeness, and the third portion adds roundness of texture, for a balance that hits the spot across the board. The 375ml can adds a simple practicality and an unpretentious push towards pure enjoyment.

2014 Edna Valley Vineyard Central Coast Chardonnay

Wine Enthusiast: "Dried lemon, sliced pineapple, ripe yellow apples and a squeeze of lime show on the light nose of this bottling from the Gallo family. (MK)" (4/2016) Wine Spectator: "Simple and easy-drinking, with light-weight fig, melon and butterscotch flavors. (JL)" (6/2016)

2009 Carlisle "Bedrock Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Mourvedre
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Carlisle "Bedrock Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Mourvedre ((90-93RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Mourvedre Bedrock Vineyard (100% Mourvedre with 15.4% alcohol) exhibits that varietal's floral, blueberry and porcini mushroom-like characteristics as well as full-bodied power, impressive ripeness and sweet tannin. Mourvedre is a difficult varietal, but this effort is ripe with silky tannins rather than vegetal with tea-tasting fruit and excessively astringent tannin. Given the anti-oxidative characteristics of Mourvedre, this 2009 should drink well for 10-15+ years. " (02/2011)

Their 2015 Sauvignon Blanc exhibits pleasant honeysuckle, citrus and melony fruit in a light to medium-bodied style, with an attractive fragrance and a dry, crisp finish. Drink it over the next year.
