2007 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting Lot
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 2007 Keenan Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (94W&S, 92RP, 92ST) and 2-bottles of 2007 Robert Mondavi Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (92WE, 91RP, 91ST, 91WS). Of the 2007 Keenan Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon,Wine & Spirits writes: "*Listed in the 100 Best Buys of 2011* Nils Venge and Randy Kewell blend Keenan's estate-grown fruit (86 percent) with cabernet from Pope Valley, which adds to this wine's aromatic complexity. The Spring Mountain fruit is deep and dark in its plumminess, with an intense minerality that streaks through the entire wine, as if you can taste the elevation rising into the finish. It builds from savory blueberry and the French roast coffee scent of oak toward crushed rock in the tannin. Even with their explosive mineral power, those tannins manage to feel silken and restrained. For the cellar, and eventually for lamb shank." (10/2011)

2012 Talley "Rosemary's Vineyard" Arroyo Grande Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Talley "Rosemary's Vineyard" Arroyo Grande Pinot Noir (98RP, 93WE, 92VN, 91CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Easily one of the top Pinot Noirs in the vintage (and I'd wager one of the top efforts to ever come out of California), Talley’s 2012 Pinot Noir Rosemary’s Vineyard is world-class stuff that readers need to taste! Unfortunately, there’s a scant 460 cases to go around, but don’t miss a chance to grab some of these. Aged 18 months in 30% new French oak, it exhibits awesome notes of cassis, crushed flowers, rose bush, sappy herbs and exotic spice on the nose. This flows to a medium to full-bodied, rich, yet laser-focused palate that carries tremendous depth, ultra-fine tannin and blockbuster length. Given the balance and purity, it’s already hard to resist, but I’ve no doubt it will evolve nicely for over a decade. (JD)" (11/2014)

2012 Beau Vigne "Cult" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Beau Vigne "Cult" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As great as all these wines are, Beau Vigne’s top wine is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Cult. From a dry-farmed vineyard, it exhibits an inky/blue/black color as well as beautiful, sweet kirsch liqueur notes intermixed with creme de cassis, unsmoked cigar tobacco, underbrush and loamy soil notes. The complex aromatics are followed by a fabulously rich, full-bodied, voluptuously textured wine revealing terrific purity as well as depth. This stunning 2012 should continue to drink well for 15-20+ years. 98+ (RP)" (10/2014)

2005 Carter "Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Carter "Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley (98RP, 95WS, 92W&S). Robert Parker"The Carter Cellars 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon comes in at a rather modest 14.1% natural alcohol, which probably reflects the cool 2005 growing season. At more than $200.00 a bottle, this may be one of the last Beckstoffer To Kalon Cabernets at that price point, and one probably impossible to find except in the auction arena. This wine just has it all – floral notes, crème de cassis, minerality and graphite in what could be a Napa-hypothetical blend of the best of Bordeaux’s Margaux and Pauillac appellations. This is a magical site. (Nearly any capable winemaker producing wine from there has proven that time after time.) This is a killer effort – young and fresh, with at least 20 years upside to it. Pushing perfection..."

2007 Anderson's Conn Valley "Eloge" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Anderson's Conn Valley "Eloge" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Eloge is a profoundly complex, extraordinary wine that is showing better out of bottle than it ever did from barrel. The final blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot and Merlot reveals an inky/purple color as well as a gorgeous nose of graphite, creme de cassis, cedarwood, Christmas fruitcake, bay leaf and a damp forest floor-like character. It possesses sensational depth, a full-bodied opulence, admirable purity and a skyscraper-like texture and finish. This killer wine has not yet closed down, and it should drink well for 20-25 years." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The good news is that there are 1,500 cases of this cuvee. It, too, reveals the noble sweetness of tannin, the extraordinary rich, intense mouthfeel, and sumptuous aromas of flowers, burning embers, blackberries, blueberries, spice box, and cedar. With extraordinary intensity, beautiful purity, a texture and flavors that build incrementally on the palate, and a significantly long finish, this is a perfect wine. (RP)" (12/2008)

2012 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2012 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 100RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another compelling, perfect wine is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer to Kalon Vineyard Old Sparky. This is Clone 4 and Clone 6, as well as Clone 337, blended together from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, aged in 100% new Darnajou barrels. For whatever reason, this wine seems to show more chocolate, espresso roast, barbecue smoke, dense blackberry and blueberry fruit and enormous body with not a touch of heaviness or astringency. This is a fabulous offering. It should drink well for 20-25 years. (RP)" (10/2014)

Has that rare quality of elegance, in which all the parts work together in harmony. Thoroughly dry, it’s marked by a firm, astringent tannic structure now, but is a certain cellar candidate." 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah ((97-99RP), 96AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Syrah releases started with the 2012 Syrah Stock. Coming mostly from the Eleven Confessions vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills, it also has portions from Cumulus, The Third Twin and White Hawk. Made from 84% Syrah, 7% Grenache, 6% Petite Sirah, 2% Viognier and the rest Mourvedre, it spent 20 months (it’s not yet bottled) in 52% new French oak. Showing the purity and suppleness of the vintage, yet with no lack of concentration, depth or richness, it gives up fabulous cassis, black raspberry, smoked meats and violet-like aromas and flavors that continue to change in the glass. In short, it’s a rock-star Syrah that could come from nowhere else. It should be approachable on release and evolve gracefully for two decades or more. (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96VN, 94ST, 93WS, 91CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The brilliant 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts an inky/purple color as well as glorious aromas of spring flowers, lead pencil shavings, licorice and a multitude of wild mountain fruits, in particular black raspberry, blackberry and cassis reminiscent of a French Pauillac (although I always think of Spottswoode as the Chateau Margaux of Napa). With a flawless integration of tannin, wood and acidity, it comes across like a liquid version of haute couture from the house of Chanel. It should drink well young yet age for 25 years. 2002 Hundred Acre "Kayli Morgan" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Hundred Acre "Kayli Morgan" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This fabulous wine from the eastern hillsides of northern Napa Valley, not far from the Eisele Vineyard, boasts an inky/blue/purple color as well as an extraordinary perfume of mulberries, black cherries, cassis, graphite, forest floor and charcoal, an astonishing texture, a full-bodied opulence and extraordinary richness and length. It is a modern day legend that tastes even younger than it did 7-10 years ago. These wines have an amazing ability to firm up and become even richer and more complex, which is exactly what great winemaking and terroir can do. Kudos to Jason Woodbridge for another sensational wine. For those concerned about alcohol, the label shows 15.9%, but there is not a trace of warmth in this beauty. It will last for at least another 20-25 years, perhaps longer. (RP)" (06/2012)

2005 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 98RP, 96WS, 95ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A candidate for one of the wines of the vintage, this stunning 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon from Rutherford includes in its blend some of the oldest Cabernet vines in existence in Napa Valley. It tips the scales at a lofty 15.4% alcohol, but believe it or not, it is strikingly elegant and pure, with laser-like precision. Inky, dark ruby/purple, with a stunning nose of forest floor, creme de cassis and a subtle, earthy minerality, the wine is built like a skyscraper, with a multidimensional mouthfeel and incredible complexity and richness, yet it never comes close to tasting heavy or overwrought. This is just a great terroir, great winemaking, and the results are profound. It seems to be drinkable now, but is capable of at least another 10-20 years of full-throttle pleasure. This is a superstar and a remarkable effort. Bravo! (RP) " (06/2015)

2012 Maybach Family "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Maybach Family "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, (93-95ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the red soils near Dalla Valle in the eastern part of the Oakville Corridor, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Materium is a killer wine. It possesses a striking, intense, rocky minerality, an opaque purple color, and deep, beautiful aromas of camphor, spring flowers, blueberries and black raspberry fruit. There is a cool climate character (even though this is not a cool climate viticultural area) as well as superb richness, a full-bodied mouthfeel, great delineation and a mindboggling finish that lasts nearly a full minute. This outrageous Cabernet Sauvignon can be drunk now and over the next 25 years. (RP)" (10/2014)

2005 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 94ST, 93W&S, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beringer’s 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve comes from the top selection from all their different holdings, with each vineyard aged separately for close to two years, then blended for quality. This blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc is a gorgeous example of the Private Reserve. Of course, it probably suffers from the fact that Beringer is part of a gigantic international conglomerate, but this is just a stunning wine – inky purple, with plenty of cassis, a hint of espresso, subtle background oak and forest notes. The color is opaque and the wine full-bodied and opulent, with sweet tannin and a multilayered mouthfeel. It has silky tannins, good freshness and uplifting acid, which should ensure a considerable longevity of 15-20 additional years. This is a stunner. (RP)" (06/2015)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I should not be surprised that the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select merited a perfect rating since I rated it 99 eight years ago...The 2001 is a big wine (14.9% natural alcohol), but the alcohol is buried beneath an avalanche of creme de cassis, wood smoke, toast, licorice and spring flower characteristics. Super full-bodied with fabulous fruit purity, a broad, expansive mouthfeel, lots of glycerin and a huge upside, this 2001 is still an infant at age ten, but it is approachable as well as compelling to smell and taste. It has at least another three decades of aging potential ahead of it and is one of the great young, legendary classics from Napa Valley. It was a privilege to taste. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Peter Michael "Ma Danseuse" Fort Ross-Seaview Pinot Noir (100RP, 94JS, 93ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The compelling 2012 Pinot Noir Ma Danseuse (1,480 cases) is even better than the 2013. Notes of lead pencil shavings, DRC-like forest floor, black raspberry, blackcurrant, Asian plum sauce, rose petal and sweet cherry characteristics are found in this spectacular, multidimensional, prodigious Pinot Noir that should drink well for 10-15+ years. The clonal material probably came from one of the DRC vineyards, so it is not surprising that. in this cool climate, with the great fruit purity California can achieve, there is a DRC-like resemblance. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Dana Estates "Lotus Vineyard" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Utterly perfect is the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Lotus Vineyard. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was aged in 100% new French oak. Although limited in availability (220 cases produced), it is a wine of awesome intensity boasting an opaque purple color in addition to a brilliant floral-scented bouquet displaying aromas of cassis, black raspberries, black fruit, and forest floor. Multilayered with terrific intensity as well as a long, nearly 60-second finish, this flawlessly assembled wine is a brilliant example of Cabernet Sauvignon from the St. Helena hillsides. Give it 2-5 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 25 years. Bravo! (RP)" (12/2009)

It exhibits a dense purple color, a fabulous texture, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and lots of blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit intermixed with hints of graphite and spring flowers. It is an intensely coiled, powerful wine in need of a few years of cellaring. The mineral notes speak very clearly in this pointed, beautifully articulated Pinot. With time in the glass the wine’s inner perfume begins to emerge, but the best is years away. The chiseled, pure finish leaves a lasting impression. This intense wine displays great fruit, some structure, and a beautifully seamless texture. It is more evolved and open than the 2007 was at the same time, and just slightly less profound. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1992 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1992 Dominus is similar in style to the 1990. It exhibits an open knit, opulent, rich, easy-going character with gorgeous levels of earthy, cassis fruit intertwined with scents of herbs, coffee, and chocolate/mocha ice cream. Rich and full-bodied, with thick, viscous flavors and low acidity, this is a forward, exceptionally concentrated, easy to understand Dominus that should drink well for 20 years." (12/1995)

Wine Enthusiast: "* Cellar Selection * Classic Georges, balanced and ageworthy, yet riper and lusher than any Private Reserve in memory. Magnificently ripe fruit, rich in currants and cocoa, well-oaked, with ripe, supple tannins. Doesn’t try to out-wow the competition in power, but the equilibrium is its strong point. Drink now—2015. 2003 Turley "Hayne Vineyard" Napa Valley Petite Syrah
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2003 Turley "Hayne Vineyard" Napa Valley Petite Syrah ((93-95RP), 94WE, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "(Note from 02/2005 review, re-reviewed with no new note in 06/2005) The 2003 Petite Syrah Hayne Vineyard displays the telltale squid ink-like color with some purple hues, and a stupendous nose of pure, black fruits intermixed with minerals, licorice, and incense. Full-bodied, with massively extracted flavors but incredibly well-balanced and vibrant, this wine needs 5-10 years of bottle-age and should age effortlessly for a quarter of a century. 2009 Kistler "Kistler Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Kistler "Kistler Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Chardonnay (96RP, 95ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard, on the other hand, bursts onto the palate with endless layers of white peaches, apricots and white flowers. The deep texture turns delicate and haunting on the finish. There is an exotic, floral note that is very much unique to this bottling that Steve Kistler ascribes to the Mt. Eden and Wente selections planted on this site. This is a marvelously complete, stunning wine. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. I was blown away by these wines from Steve Kistler, his partner Mark Bixler and assistant winemaker Jason Kesner. Over the last few years Kistler has refined his approach, as he wasn’t totally satisfied by the way some of his earlier wines had developed in bottle. Today Kistler is picking his Chardonnays at lower Brix levels, using less French oak (with no stirring of the lees) and keeping the wines in barrel for

2011 Kosta Browne "Keefer Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Kosta Browne "Keefer Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (95CG, 93ST, 91AG, 91WS). Connoisseurs Guide: "We have often found a singular and very identifiable purity to the fruit of Russian River's best Pinot sites, and this lovely version from Keefer Ranch is perfect example of just that. It is optimally ripened and very rich right from the first with a long and very deep complement of juicy, red-cherry fruit, and its teasing suggestions of sweet oak and dried flowers only make a good thing even better. It manages to be lively and lithe and fairly substantial all at once, and its lengthy, amazingly vital finish further marks it as a decidedly collectable wine that vies with the very best of the vintage." 2002 Vérité "La Muse" Sonoma County Red Wine
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Vérité "La Muse" Sonoma County Red Wine (99RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This 93% Merlot / 7% Cabernet Franc blend (92% from the Alexander Mountain Estate, 6% from Bennett Valley and 2% from Knight’s Valley) is a 'kissing cousin' of the 2001, only softer and more flamboyant. Classically Californian in its exuberant, flamboyant, super-rich, unctuously textured style, the tannins are softer than in the 2001, but the wine unquestionably has the potential to last for another quarter of a century. It exhibits an opaque plum/purple color along with abundant notes of cassis, licorice, graphite, coffee cake and spice box. More approachable than the 2001, the 2002 will offer phenomenal drinking over the next 25 years. (RP)" (06/2012)

Dark Morello cherries, licorice, leather and spices are some of the notes that develop as this racy wine struts its stuff. Subtle floral notes round out the finish. (AG) " (12/2011)

2003 Pride Mountain Vineyards "Reserve" Sonoma/Napa Counties Claret
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Pride Mountain Vineyards "Reserve" Sonoma/Napa Counties Claret (97RP, 95WE, 93CG, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Reserve Claret is a blend of 67% Merlot and 33% Cabernet Sauvignon that achieved 14.4% alcohol. An exquisite candidate for wine of the vintage, it comes from a vineyard high on the summit of Spring Mountain. Eighty-three percent of the fruit comes from Sonoma and the rest from Napa County as the vineyard sits astride the county lines. Its dark plum/garnet color reveals a slight lightening at the edge. A beautiful nose of cedarwood, forest floor, red and black currants, kirsch and plum is followed by a full-bodied wine with great freshness, a rich, textured mouthfeel and sensational concentration with no heaviness. This is an uplifting, quintessential mountain Cabernet Sauvignon that outperforms the vintage. Just entering its plateau of full maturity, it can be drunk now and over the next decade. 2001 Bond "St. Eden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Bond "St. Eden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 96WS, 95WE, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Utterly perfect, another wine that seems to have taken on a first-growth Pauillac-like character (think Mouton-Rothschild) is the 2001 St. Eden. With a remarkably perfumed nose of crushed rocks, subtle barbecue smoke, and again, cedar wood intermixed with creme de cassis and blackberry, this wine displays a phenomenally concentrated mouthfeel, full-bodied opulence, voluptuous texture, and of this trio, is certainly the closest to its apogee of full maturity. Nevertheless, it will still benefit from another 5-10 years of cellaring and keep for an additional 25-30. (RP)" (06/2011)

2001 Robert Mondavi Stag's Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Robert Mondavi Stag's Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Chateau Margaux look-alike, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District, exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as a sweet nose of acacia flowers, white chocolate, and asphalt presented in a medium to full-bodied, well-delineated, lush style that manages to conceal serious tannin in the finish. A blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot, this beauty can be enjoyed now and over the next 12-15 years." (12/2003)

2004 Diamond Creek "Red Rock Terrace" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Diamond Creek "Red Rock Terrace" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96W&S, 95CG, 91WS). Wine & Spirits: "** Year's Best 2007 **The most classical of the three Diamond Creek wines in 2004, Red Rock is also the most perfectly formed. It starts with a dark oak savor that turns to succulent cherry and deepens to black currant. Its freshness feels as cool as the shade on a sunny Diamond Mountain afternoon. Firm tannins support the fruit, and it's the fruit that lasts, set to go the distance. A great vintage of Red Rock, this has decades of development ahead. " (12/2007)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97WE, 96RP, 95JS, 93ST, 93WS, 90CG). Wine Enthusiast: "Tasted in a big lineup of St. Helena Cabernets, Spottswoode’s magnificent ’05 stood out. It’s a massive powerhouse, explosive in black currant, cherry pie, plum, chocolate, anise and cedar flavors that are detailed and precise. However, the wine, which was blended with a little Cabernet Franc, is graceful and balanced. Drinkable now due to its softly refined tannins, but has the integrity to ride out the years. 1997 Mayacamas Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Mayacamas Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96VN). Vinous: "The 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon tastes almost like it was made yesterday, such is its freshness. Pliant, explosive and racy, the 1997 bursts on the palate with waves of dark red fruit. The flavors remain pretty primary, so readers who want the full Mayacamas experience will have to give the 1997 further bottle age. That is the bad news. The good news is that the 1997 is a truly special wine that will thrill readers for the next two-plus decades. 96+ (AG)" (06/2014)

Of the 2011 Checkerboard "Checkerboard" Napa Valley Proprietary Red,From the winery writes: "The warm and dry growing season of 2011 produced a later than usual harvest date allowing us to achieve optimum ripeness. The 2011 Checkerboard showcases the rich concentration of our hillside vineyards and yields a consistency of character that increases as the vines continue to mature. There is a lovely finesse to the wines, a complexity of ripe red fruits, spice and dried currants.
