2010 Poggio dell'Otto Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Top Pick!
2010 Poggio dell'Otto Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

The follow-up to the massively successful 2008 Poggio dell'Otto that sold out in hours, this bottling delivers the same immense value but this time from the legendary 2010 vintage. Probably one of the last great values to be found from 2010, it could easily be in the high $30s and still one of the best deals we have in Brunello. Our direct-import pricing, however, leaves this as one of the stores best values...while it lasts. Make sure to grab a few bottles and see for yourself what our team has been raving about.

2012 Le Potazzine Brunello di Montalcino

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "96+: Le Potazzine Gorelli makes very distinctive expressions of Brunello that reflect a sort of secret truth about the Sangiovese grape. Full body with fine, refined tannins with currant, blueberry and cherry flavors wrapped up in the tannic structure. A wine that that will deliver much more in a year or two: Drink in 2017." (10/2015) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Castello Banfi has maintained an excellent reputation for consistency over the years. The performance of its base Brunello offers solid evidence of this. If you look back at the scores over the years, you will see less fluctuation between the good vintages and the bad ones. That consistency is ...Read More »

2012 Castello di Romitorio Brunello di Montalcino (Elsewhere $55) Top Pick!
2012 Castello di Romitorio Brunello di Montalcino (Elsewhere $55)

94 points James Suckling: "Here is a full-bodied Brunello with lots of dried fruit, orange peel and hints of spice. Full and velvety. Rich and opulent finish. Yet always in form. Drink in 2020." (12/2016) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Castello Romitorio delivers yet another excellent set of wines from Montalcino. The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino is hearty and dark with enough grit and concentration to pair with classic Tuscan cuisine including steak, game meat or smoked cheese. The mouthfeel is textured and rich. Vibrant fruit and dark tones of black currant, plum, spice and pipe tobacco characterize the bouquet. ...Read More »

2011 Castiglion del Bosco Brunello di Montalcino

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sporting a new label design, the 2011 Brunello di Montalcino represents a philosophical divide from previous vintages. In the past, Castiglion del Bosco was focused on soft and immediate Brunellos for near-term consumption. Despite the warm conditions of the 2011 growing season, this wine shows far more elegance, nuance and grace than I expected. This massive property is comprised of various vineyard sites for more blending possibilities. The bouquet is redolent of wild berry, cola and grilled herb. The tannins are silky but long in terms of persistence. ...Read More »

2006 La Poderina Brunello di Montalcino

95 points James Suckling: "Blueberries, flowers and raspberries. Love the nose, like so many others. Full body, with fine tannins and a silky textured finish. So much going on here. Class. Best after 2013." (1/2011) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "La Poderina's Brunello shows impressive balance between its bright fruit and sassy spice components. On the close, the wine exhibits a tight, firm and penetrating feel that is carried forth by acidity and the natural firmness of the tannins." (4/2011) 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full red. Withdrawn but pure aromas of cherry and iron. Juicy red fruit and mineral flavors are a bit sullen today but ...Read More »

2012 L'Aietta Brunello di Montalcino (Pre-Arrival)

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Cellar Selection Captivating wild berry, rose, chopped herb and baking spice aromas take center stage in this earthy, stunning wine. The palate mirrors the nose in vibrancy, delivering tight layers of wild cherry, star anise and white pepper notes. Fresh acidity and firm, refined tannins provide a polished framework. It's loaded with finesse and already delicious, but hold for even more complexity. Drink 2020–2032." (4/2017)
