2015 Sarno 1860 Fiano di Avellino

93 points Vinous: "93+: Pale green-tinged yellow. Pure flinty minerality complements notes of lime and apple on the vibrant nose. Spicy, complex and very pure; this manages to be simultaneously thick yet weightless, with very precise fresh citrus and orchard fruit flavors. The long, mounting finish saturates the palate with iodiney minerality and repeating apple and lime nuances. This could well turn out to be the Fiano di Avellino of the vintage." (11/2016)

2015 Marisa Cuomo "Furore Bianco Fiorduva" Costa d'Amalfi Top Pick!
2015 Marisa Cuomo "Furore Bianco Fiorduva" Costa d'Amalfi

From Robert Parker: "The Fiorduva is a rare coastal white that has tropical fruit inflections, but at the same time, there is more than enough acidity to balance things out...The Fiorduva is 40% Ripoli, 30% Fenile and 30% Ginestra. If you haven’t heard about these indigenous white varieties before, don’t worry about it, neither have most people!...Marisa Cuomo is another Campanian producer making drop-dead gorgeous wines. This small estate is located on the Amalfi Coast, which lends its inimitable ocean influence to the wines."

2003 Feudi di San Gregorio "Serpico" Irpinia

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 is a fascinating Serpico. The wine boasts impressive concentration in its dark, rich fruit. This is an incredibly primary Serpico, with little in the way of tertiary development. Ideally, it is best left alone for another few years, but readers fortunate enough to own this are in for a thrilling ride once the wine opens up a bit. Today it remains tightly coiled but full of potential. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023. (AG)" (8/2010) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "A beautiful wine: sweet cherry and berry fruit nuances are woven within threads of vanilla, toast and ash. Despite the ...Read More »

2015 La Sibilla Campi Flegrei Piedirosso

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-red. Flinty, slightly herbal nuances to the red berry and dark plum aromas and flavors, lifted by a hint of violet. Long, clean and fresh, showing a strong saline note on the long smooth finish. An outstanding Piedirosso of sneaky concentration. Very well done. (ID)" (11/2016)

1999 Feudi di San Gregorio "Piano di Montevergine" Taurasi

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 is another impressive Piano di Montevergine. This is a touch more powerful and rustic than the decidedly elegant 2001, but it is just as engaging. Smoke, leather, licorice, wild cherries and rosemary develop beautifully in the glass, along with suggestions of ash and game that add character and complexity. The 1999 is a decidedly powerful Piano di Montevergine that is rewarding today and should drink well for another decade, perhaps beyond. (AG)" (8/2010) 90 points Wine Spectator: "This takes no prisoners. Big and rich aromas of crushed blackberries and black pepper, with h ...Read More »

2008 Galardi "Terra Di Lavoro" Roccamonfina (3L)
Bid on this 3L-bottle lot of 2008 Galardi "Terra Di Lavoro" Roccamonfina (3L) (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Galardi’s 2008 Terra di Lavoro is a legend in the making. It is a fabulously ripe, rich and seductive wine endowed with beautifully articulated dark plums, ash, leather, licorice, all of which meld together in an explosive, utterly thrilling display of class and elegance. Clean, mineral notes frame the eternal finish. Today the 2008 is impossibly young and the wine will require considerable patience, but its class, pedigree and potential are all first-rate. Simply put, the 2008 is a monumental Terra di Lavoro. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2038. 97+ (AG)" (08/2010)

2001 Montevetrano Colli di Salerno
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2001 Montevetrano Colli di Salerno (95RP, 94ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 is an extreme Montevetrano bursting with masses of super-ripe fruit that walks the tight rope of ripeness stopping just short of going overboard. This is by far the most opulent, full-throttle vintage of Montevetrano ever made. Chocolate, spices and new leather lead to jammy dark fruit. Despite the wine’s overt richness the firm tannins confer elements of classicism that act as a foil. In 2001 Aglianico comes through in spades. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2026. Proprietor Silvia Imparato is one of the early pioneers in the world of Campanian oenology. (AG)" (08/2010)

2004 Terredora di Paolo "Pago dei Fusi" Taurasi DOCG
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2004 Terredora di Paolo "Pago dei Fusi" Taurasi DOCG (95RP, 91WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Taurasi Pago dei Fusi is a single-vineyard wine that has previously not been available in the US. Hopefully that will change, as this is a rock-star wine. The Pago dei Fusi shows a touch more depth and inner sweetness than the regular bottling, but without abandoning what is essentially a classic style. Dark cherries, plums, tobacco, licorice and incense are woven together in a fabric of superb richness. The finish is long, precise and exceptionally pure, with crystalline, mineral notes that add freshness. This site, which was once under water, is rich in marine deposits that confer a beautiful sense of vibrancy to the wine. The integration of the oak is superb. Readers will not want to miss this gem!
