2007 Ceuso Fastaia (Previously $20)

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Fastaia is a rich, powerful wine loaded with the essence of mocha, spices, grilled herbs and dark fruit. The sumptuousness of the fruit carries through to the long, refined finish where a burst of blackberries, spices and new leather add the final layers of complexity. Readers who want to explore Ceuso's wines without spending a fortune should start here. This is a fabulous wine for the money. The 2007 Fastaia is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot 10% Petit Verdot fermented in steel and subsequently aged in cement for 18 months." (6/2010)

2007 Trabucchi "San Colombano" Valpolicella Superiore

Wine Enthusiast: "Small percentages of Croatina, Oseleta and Forsellina grapes are added to this traditional Valpolicella blend. It’s bright and fruity, with cherry and blueberry notes that are backed by a touch of smooth spice and a polished finish." (11/2012) K&L Notes: According to the Wine Advocate: "Trabucchi makes intense, fruit-forward wines from biologically-certified vineyards in Illasi, one of the valleys that emerges on the eastern side of the Valpolicella zone." 2007 Scacciadiavoli Sagrantino di Montefalco

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Montefalco Sagrantino shows off layers of dark fruit, juniper berries and sweet medicinal herbs in a sumptuous expression of Sagrantino. All of the elements come together nicely here, as the hard Sagrantino tannins and some of grape's wildness have been tamed but without the loss of too much varietal character. A lush, refined finish rounds things out nicely. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019." (6/2011) Jancis Robinson: "Dark ruby with bricky rim. Balsamic cherry with real depth and a little earthy. Elegant palate weight and big tannins. Quite pure fruit on the finis ...Read More »

2007 Poggio Antico Brunello di Montalcino

94 points James Suckling: "This is beautifully perfumed, with flowers and dried raspberries. Full body, with silky and polished tannins and a berry, cherry aftertaste. Not quite the 2006 but succulent and bright." (1/2012)94 points Wine Enthusiast: "A whiff of fresh flowers from a rose garden or a lavender field makes for a nice first impression. Beyond that is dark fruit, black cherry and crème de cassis. Shadings of lead pencil, leather and tobacco fill in the rear. This Brunello presents a soft, round mouthfeel with cherry flavors capped by tight structure." (5/2012)93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino bursts fr ...Read More »

2007 Corte Rugolin "Crosara de le Strìe" Amarone Classico

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the estate’s two flagship wines, the 2007 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico "Crosara de le Strie" is a richly textured and intense wine with firm tannins and sweet cherry accents. It is aged two years in barrique and botte grande and has the spicy endnotes of cinnamon and dark vanilla that come with barrel-aging. The best quality here is the wine’s immediate focus. (ML)" (10/2013) Decanter: "Volatile aromas of intense plum jam, cherry, cassis, dark spice, oak, prunes and chocolate. Big, full, ripe and sweet with youthful fruit and a spicy finish. It has a go ...Read More »

2007 Campogiovanni Brunello di Montalcino

94 points James Suckling: "Impressive depth of fruit on the nose, with dark berries, flowers and blueberries. Full-bodied, with a core of fruit that is impressive and sensual. Silky tannins. Long, long finish. Try it in 2016. This is clearly better than the 2006." (1/2012)92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino Campogiovanni is a huge wine bursting with dark red cherries, plums, licorice, new leather and spices. This is an especially big, voluminous style built on extroverted fruit and sheer richness, but it all works. The weight of the vintage comes through in the wine's glycerin. Anticip ...Read More »

2007 Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino (94JS, 94RP, 94ST, 94WE, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino is lush, sweet and inviting. Today the 2007 doesn’t quite have the sheer visceral thrill and excitement of the 2006, but it more than makes up for that with its early approachability. Dark red berries, spices and crushed flowers are layered into the finish. There is plenty of volume but not a lot of structure. The 2007 Brunello was made from three separate parcels with different altitudes and exposures. Malolactic fermentation was done in steel and the wine was aged in a combination of casks and neutral small French oak barrels. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. Andrea Cortonesi’s biggest competition these days is oddly enough from himself! The Uccelliera wines are as good as they’ve ever been, but it is impossible not to compare them with the wines Cortonesi makes under the Voliero label. Uccelliera is located in Castelnuovo

2007 Siro Pacenti Brunello di Montalcino (Pre-Arrival)

97 points James Suckling: "Aromas of blackberries and blueberries follow through to a full body and velvety tannins. This is so layered and deep. Fabulous texture. Better in 2014. We will see in the end whether 2006 or 2007 is better. Try in 2016." (1/2012)94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino wraps across the palate with layers of sweet red cherries, flowers, licorice and spices. Soft and sensual, the 2007 impresses for its impeccable balance and long, suave finish. The 2007 kept improving over the time I followed it. This is a vintage built on silky elegance and expressive fleshiness i ...Read More »

2007 Sapaio Bolgheri Superiore

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* This is a lovely, rich wine with mature red berry tones followed by sharp mineral definition and bright aromas of fresh Indian spice. The wine is dense and decadent and could stand up to beef tenderloin with balsamic reduction." (12/2010)92 points James Suckling: "Currants, minerals and spices here. Subtle and stylish. Full and super silky. Round and rich. I really like the texture and depth of fruit. Drink now or hold." (6/2013)92 points Wine Spectator: "There's loads of currant and spices on the nose and palate, with fresh herbs. Full and velvety, with toasty oak and refined tannins. Need ...Read More »

2007 Aldo Conterno Barolo "Cicala" 1.5L (Pre-Arrival)

96 points James Suckling: "This is stunning, with licorice, flowers and dark fruits all over. Full and super silky and sexy. I am in love with this wine already. It will age for decades, but it is so in harmony and beautiful now. Gorgeous." (5/2011)95 points Wine Spectator: "Scented with black cherry and plum, this international-style red shows plenty of smoky, toasty oak on the palate. It's rich, with sweet fruit, ample power and complexity, but will take some time to integrate the tannins. Best from 2016 through 2035. 300 cases imported. –BS" (4/2012)94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Barolo Cicala is every bit as compelling as the ...Read More »

2007 Poderi Aldo Conterno Dolcetto "Masante" Langhe

91 points Gary Vaynerchuk " COLOR-dark; NOSE-blueberry; subtle; PALATE-this is so silky and smooth; just a great mouthfeel; the texture and length of this wine; the complexities; blackberry and crème integrated flawlessly with the cedar and tobacco; this wine is right and tight; the silkiness is gorgeous; the complexity is profound and leans towards $50-$60 wines from this area; this is SPECTACULAR; has a great dryness; this wine crushes 85% of the wines I taste in this price point; quite an extraordinary mouthfeel; GV-91" Wine Library TV (1/2010)
