91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep red. Sexy, expressive aromas of red fruits, lead pencil, licorice and flowers. Silky-sweet, broad and mouthfilling, with concentrated dark fruit and aromatic herb flavors. Finishes long and serious, with ripe, broad tannins and lingering, very intense floral notes. Very drinkable already but still young at six years of age, this Riserva is one of the best wines (Graticciaia excepted) from Agricole Vallone in years. (ID)" (3/2014) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Salice Salentino Riserva Vereto is a pure expression of Negroamaro that is aged in botte grande for up to eight mo ...Read More »
Fattoria Rodano only produces 500 cases of this super Tuscan blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Sangiovese. Grapes were hand-harvested from the organically certified Viacosta vineyard which features 35-45 year old vines with a beautifully situated, south-facing amphitheater-like exposure. For a luxurious touch, the wine was aged in 60% new French barriques before bottling.
The finest wine in the stable at Corte Rugolin, the Monte Danieli Amarone is sourced from a 60 year old vineyard with excellent sun exposure. It is made from 55% Corvina, 15% Corvinone, 5% Rondinella, and a balance of the other local varieties Olinara, Dindarellla, Oseleta, and Croatina. Harvest began in September and the grapes were loaded onto special racks where they were allowed to dry at room temperature in a ventilated room for three months. This process reduced the original weight of the grapes by 35-40% via dehydration, in turn concentrating the ... Read More »
Wine Enthusiast: "This opens with pretty, dark concentration and balanced aromas of black cherry and red currant set against leather, cedar and drying mineral notes. That extra density helps soften the sharp acidity." (5/2013)
Grown organically in the estate vineyards in Castelnuovo dell’Abate in the southeastern section of Montalcino near the abbey of Sant’Antimo, this 50% Sangiovese and 50% Colorino undergoes a temperature controlled maceration for 7-8 days. It is then matured for 6 months in 500 liter neutral French oak barrels.
93 points Vinous: "The estate's top of the line Campo alla Sughera (Petit Verdot/Cabernet Franc) is striking in 2008. A big, broad shouldered wine, the 2008 captures the personality of the year in its cool, mineral-inflected flavors. Graphite, grilled herbs, smoke and melted road tar all blossom from the glass. The 2008 is big, rid and powerful, but also incredibly shut down at this stage. It will be interesting to see what further time in bottle brings, but the 2008 is compelling, even today. (AG)" (8/2013) 92 points James Suckling: "This is a balanced and clean wine with currants, light mint and ber ...Read More »
93 points Vinous: "One day, I would like to put Stella di Campalto's 2008 Brunello di Montalcino in a blind tasting with a handful of top-notch Burgundies and see how many people can pick this wine out. Sweet crushed flowers, savory herbs and cherries all waft from the glass. There is an ethereal, lifted, intensely perfumed quality to the 2008 that reminds me of Louis-Michel Liger-Belair's wines. The 2008 isn't a blockbuster, but it is very pretty. (AG)" (9/2013) 92 points Wine & Spirits: "Delicate color and light floral scents indicate the elegant style of Stella di Campalto’s 2008 Brunello. Layers o ...Read More »

100 points James Suckling: "Incredible aromas of blackberries, blueberries, dark chocolate and hints of cream. Roses, rose petals and leaves. Speechless. Full-bodied, tight and concentrated. The finish is endless. Perfect harmony. Made from a selection of the best grapes from the oldest vines: 70% romirasco, 15% cicala and 15% colonnello. All co-fermented and macerated for one month in wood. Aged in a 25-hectoliter cask for 33 months. Five years in bottle. Only 3,000 bottles. Perfect now and it will improve with age for decades ahead." (11/2016)
