Full-bodied, with beautifully silky tannins and a long, caressing finish. A true beauty. This is real Nebbiolo. Conteisa comes from the Cerequio vineyard near La Morra, in the heart of Barolo-producing territory. Best after 2009." (07/2004)

1999 Falesco Montiano Lazio
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Falesco Montiano Lazio (95RP). 95 points Robert Parker: "The profound, dense ruby/purple-colored 1999 Montiano (2,500 cases of 100% Merlot aged in 100% new French oak, and bottled unfined and unfiltered) offers a smorgasbord of aromas, including melted chocolate, espresso, blackberries, cherries, currants, and smoke. Full-bodied, with terrific purity, a multilayered texture, and surprising freshness for a wine of such depth, it can be drunk young, or cellared for 10-15 years. For technicians who care about such things, it has a whopping 37 grams per liter of dry extract." (10/2001)

1998 Gaja "Sperss" Nebbiolo Langhe
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Gaja "Sperss" Nebbiolo Langhe (95RP, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the things I have learned over the years is that you can count on Angelo Gaja to make a strong showing in just about any tasting. Yes, I know, Sperss is not Barolo (a small percentage of Barbera is added), but at its core the wine captures the essence of Serralunga and is as representative of these hillside vineyards as any Barolo. Dark tar, smoke, leather, spices, menthol and black cherries all make an appearance in this muscular, full-throttle wine. While the vast majority of 1998 Barolos can be enjoyed today, the 1998 Sperss could use another few years in the cellar. It isn't a crime to open a bottle today, but this is one of the few 1998s that still has upside potential. Simply put, the 1998 Sperss is a jewel. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2023. (AG)" (03/2009)

2004 Alessandro e Gian Natale Fantino "Bussia Cascina Dardi" Barolo Riserva
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2004 Alessandro e Gian Natale Fantino "Bussia Cascina Dardi" Barolo Riserva (94VN). Vinous: "The 2004 Barolo Riserva Cascina Dardi-Bussia starts off rather shy and subdued, but then grows in the glass considerably. Dried flowers, rose perals, licorice and berries are some of the nuances that emerge from this deceptively medium-bodied, ethereal Barolo. There is a weighltess elegance and finesse to the Riserva that is utterly irressitible. 94+ (AG)" (12/2010)

2005 Brovia "Villero" Barolo
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Brovia "Villero" Barolo (96RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Barolo Villero is ridiculously great. All sorts of cinnamon, cloves, menthol and other balsamic nuances take center stage. The dark fruit is marvelously radiant, open and expressive, showing superb density and richness. The tannins are of course firm for a wine of this age, but that doesn’t get in the way of what is a totally alluring Barolo of the highest level. Violets, plums and minerals ring out on the precise, refreshing finish. Hats off to Brovia for another exceptional Barolo. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2035. (AG)" (12/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Marchesi di Gresy "Camp Gros" Barbaresco (95ST, 94VN, 93JS, 92WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Reticent but very pure aromas of raspberry, minerals and wild herbs, plus an exotic whiff of nectarine. Wonderfully silky and voluminous, offering seductive sweetness and outstanding noble perfume. Finishes with thoroughly sweet tannins, outstanding lift and palate-saturating persistence. As satisfying as a great Chambolle. (ST)" (11/2011)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Valdicava "Madonna del Piano" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (98JS, 98WE, 96RP, 95WS). Wine Enthusiast: " *Top 100 Cellar Selections of 2013* Here’s an unforgettable wine that absolutely makes the case for 2007 being one of the best vintages of late in Montalcino. The wine is broad and polished with masculine tones of dark fruit, leather and tobacco. These aromas evolve so quickly and with such pulsing intensity, the wine comes alive suddenly. There are dusty mineral shadings at the back with tightly textured tannins. Hold 10 more years." (02/2013)

Well-defined Sass. Full-bodied, with sleek, refined tannins and a silky finish. All in finesse. Classy wine. Almost chewy. Reminds me of the excellent 1997, but this is slightly better. Give it time. 2001 Aldo Conterno "Cicala" Barolo (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2001 Aldo Conterno "Cicala" Barolo (1.5L) (95ST, 94WS, 92RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Quintessential Barolo perfume: minerals, tobacco, underbrush, tar, licorice, gunflint. Then wonderfully rich and seamless in the mouth, with superb concentration and purity of flavor. Spicy red fruits emerged with aeration. Comes across, atypically, as less clenched in the early going than the Colonnello and strikingly complex from the outset, but this is nonetheless extremely young. Finishes with extremely suave tannins and vibrant lingering fruit. Great wine in the making." (11/2004)

2010 Casanova di Neri "Tenuta Nuova" Brunello di Montalcino
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Casanova di Neri "Tenuta Nuova" Brunello di Montalcino (100RP, 99JS, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova is a protagonist of the vintage. The fruit is deep and dark with rich levels of extract, intensity and flavor. It goes far beyond your standard cherry and blackberry to include plum cake, spice bread and bacon-wrapped prune. Nothing is obvious or monochromatic about this wine. Everything is nuanced and ethereal. Tenuta Nuova is also distinguished by the linear mineral notes that are characteristic of this single-vineyard site. In 2010, those traits are especially well-defined and pronounced. The tannins reach a level of suppleness that is almost impossible to find in the sometimes prickly and acidic Sangiovese grape. If there is one thing Giacomo Neri has mastered, it is harvesting at optimal ripeness: He knows his property and his vines better than most and it shows. Collectors will want to put this wi

2007 Vietti "Rocche" Barolo
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Vietti "Rocche" Barolo (99RP, 98JS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Vietti's 2007 Barolo Rocche is shaping up to be one of the wines of the vintage. The bouquet alone is transcendental. The voluptuous, classy Rocche shows off endless layers of fruit in an exciting and totally alluring expression of Nebbiolo. The wine seems to float on the palate, as the essence of geraniums, red berries, hard candy and minerals conquer all of the senses. Fine, silky tannins frame a finish of breathtaking beauty. The Rocche spent a full 5 weeks of contact on the skins. Like all the Vietti Baroli, malolactic fermentation was carried out in French oak after which the wine was racked into large, neutral casks for aging. The 2007 Rocche is the very finest wine I have ever tasted from Vietti. I only hope Alfredo Currado had a chance to taste this at least a few times before he passed away last year. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2032. " (02/2011)

2007 Antinori "Tignanello" Toscana
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Antinori "Tignanello" Toscana (95RP, 94WE, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Antinori's 2007 Tignanello is wonderfully ripe and seductive in its dark cherries, flowers, spices, tobacco, sage, cedar, mint and minerals. This is as opulent a Tignanello as I have ever tasted but there is just enough acidity and structure from the Sangiovese to keep things from going over the top. The wine's richness and warmth are such that in a blind tasting I mistook the 2007 Tignanello for a wine from Maremma! The dense, muscular fruit follows through to an impeccable finish with no hard edges and impossibly fine, silky tannins. Simply put, the 2007 is a magnificent Tignanello...80% Sangiovese aged in 300-liter French oak barrels (1/3 new), 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, both aged in 100% new 225-liter French oak barriques.
