Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino (94ST, 93JS, 92VN, 91RP, 90WE, 90WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red. Mesmerizingly pure and intense aromas of raspberry, sour red cherry, minerals, licorice and violet. Sweet, lush and deep, with outstanding clarity and lift to the pure flavors of red cherry, raspberry and flint. Pristine and very long on the vibrant finish, which features extremely sophisticated tannins and superb length. The wine's minerally, flinty quality runs through from nose to aftertaste. A paradigm of cooler-climate Montalcino sangiovese, this is the year's best Brunello, and it will cost you a fraction as much as more famous Brunellos that other wine writers will surely score higher." The structure builds to a racy finish. This is a Bordeaux blend that is all in harmony. Give it time: the tannins and fruit will melt together. Try in 2016." (11/2013)

2004 Giuseppe Quintarelli Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Giuseppe Quintarelli Amarone della Valpolicella Classico (96VN). Vinous: "The 2004 Amarone is a powerhouse. Over the last year, the 2004 has completely shut down, so readers will have to be patient. The silkiness and allure the 2004 showed when it was first bottled is there, but the fruit is presently hiding beneath a wall of imposing structure. Dried flowers, lavender, sweet tobacco and cedar are some of the notes that add complexity on the finish. (AG)" (07/2015)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Elio Grasso "Gavarini Chiniera" Barolo (98RP, 98VN, 95WE, 95WS, 94JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Barolo Gavarini Chiniera is an amazing wine born 430 meters above sea level from white limestone and sandy soils. The elegance expressed by the wine is unforgettable. It opens to a pretty garnet color with ethereal tones of licorice and balsam herb with sharp, delineated contours. This vineyard is usually harvested later than the others, so the growing cycle is extra long and steady. The wine is silky, finessed and profound. (ML)" (07/2014)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Antinori Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore (OWC - 95JS, 95RP, 94VN, 92WS, 91ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Forever the superstar, the 2011 Bolgheri Superiore Guado al Tasso is a delicious wine that never holds back in terms of intensity and seamless integration. Every detail has been finessed. The blend is 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Each vineyard parcel is fermented separately to maintain varietal identity. The wine’s appearance is dark and luscious with thick extraction and a vibrant dark garnet hue. Generous aromas of dark fruit, tobacco and chocolate lift steadily from the glass. The mouthfeel is soft and yielding with a great sense of tannic persistency that holds up the finish, which can be counted in many long minutes. Give this wine five years or more to fully evolve. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Gaja Ca' Marcanda "Magari" Toscana (94RP, 93JS, 92WS, 91VN, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Upped to a Bolgheri status (previously this wine was identified as a Toscana IGT), the 2012 Bolgheri Magari is simply delightful. This vintage shows extra heft and dimension that allows the wine to spread smoothly over the palate. Merlot is blended with Cabernets Franc and Sauvignon, and the taste profile in the 2012 vintage definitely favors the Merlot component. Soft cherry and dark berry segue to spice and moist tobacco. The structure of the two Cabernet varieties shows in the mouth where the wine is elegant and tight. It needs more time for bottle evolution. (ML)" (10/2014)

The 2001 drinks well better young than the 1999, but it is also likely to mature earlier. (AG)" (12/2013)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2003 Querciabella "Camartina" Toscana (OWC - 93RP, 92ST, 91WE, 91WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the 2003 Camartina is a drop-dead gorgeous effort. Fat, rich and opulent, it will reward consumers with its generous super-ripe fruit, great length and beautiful overall balance. While it doesn’t look to be one of the more long-lived Camartinas, with some air it is drinking beautifully today. It is a very refined effort in this vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2018. Wine Enthusiast: " *Cellar Selection* This supremely elegant and age-worthy Sassicaia opens with an intense bouquet of black cherry, Mediterranean herbs, blue flower, cedar and leather aromas. Powerful but graceful, the palate delivers a vibrant core of black cherry accented with white pepper, mineral and balsamic notes alongside youthful but polished tannins and vibrant acidity. It’s not as exuberant as some of its counterparts, but it may outlive all the other Bolgheri 2010s. Drink 2018–2040. (KO)" (05/2014)

2007 Bruno Giacosa "Asili" Barbaresco
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2007 Bruno Giacosa "Asili" Barbaresco (94RP, 94VN, 93JS, 93ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Barbaresco Asili is a striking, elegant wine. Sweet roses, minerals, flowers, menthol and minerals emerge from this firm yet intensely perfumed Barbaresco. The wine reveals gorgeous weight and textural richness in a firm style that requires patience. Beginning with the 2007 vintage, the vineyards delimitations in Barbaresco have been re-drawn. As a result, Giacosa’s parcel in Rabaja is now considered part of Asili, which means there will be no more Barbaresco Rabaja from Bruno Giacosa after 2005. In 2007, the white label Asili is roughly 80% juice from the old ‘Rabaja’ parcel and 20% Asili from the vines Giacosa has always used for his Asili. Curiously, the 2007 Asili is a very soft wine, considering it is made mostly from vines that informed such majestic Rabajas as the 2001 and 2004. (AG)" (10/2009)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Tenuta San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri (97VN, 96RP, 95JS, 95ST, 94WE, 94WS). Vinous: "The 2006 Sassicaia may very well go down as one of the all-time great recent vintages for this Tuscan thoroughbred. The year started off very warm but by August evening temperatures had moderated, leaving the fruit with a stunning combination of ripeness, perfume, acidity and tannin. The wine is simply glorious, that's all there is to it. Layers of dark fruit meld into smoke, leather, violets, menthol, earthiness and tar as this profound wine opens up in the glass. The creamy, silky finish lasts an eternity, as waves of fruit caress the tannins with breathtaking elegance. Everything is in the right place in this magical Sassicaia. This is one for the ages. In a word: Awesome. (AG)" (08/2009)

2004 Giuseppe Quintarelli Valpolicella Classico Superiore
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2004 Giuseppe Quintarelli Valpolicella Classico Superiore. The reputation of the estate of Giuseppe Quintarelli is simply legendary. Their beautifully crafted wines are celebrated worldwide and naturally the Amarone gets most of the prestige. But the Valpolicella Classico Superiore deserves just as much recogntion for delivering an excellent performance at a much more attainable price than the prestigious Amarone wines. This value is even more pronounced in a particularly fine vintage like 2004. Fruit for the Valpolicella Classico Superiore is sourced from the same 11 hectares of estate vineyard as the Amarone wines, with vines planted in limestone and basalt soils and averaging 30 years old. A ripasso wine, the grapes are crushed immediately after harvest and fermented on indigenous yeast. The wine is held until February when it is racked onto the must and lees of the Amarone wines, which begins a second fermentation and the wine gains further extraction f

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Bolgheri Camarcanda is an exceptional wine with a level of aromatic intensity and integrity that is impossible to exaggerate. The blend is Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, in that order of importance. The bouquet is impeccable and refined, with deep layers of Morello cherry, cassis, dried blackberry and spice that peel back in quick succession. The oak component is beautifully integrated, imparting notes of chocolate and tobacco that complete this beautiful portrait of Tuscan winemaking. Hold this bottle for a few more years. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Il Poggione "Vigna Paganelli" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (OWC - 97RP, 96WE, 94ST, 92WS, 91JS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Paganelli is huge, powerful and totally implosive. The seductive allure of the 2007 is nowhere to be found. Instead, the 2006 is built on a serious spine of formidable tannin and dark red/black fruit. Hints of tar, licorice, rose petals and tobacco inform the powerful, virile finish. The 2006 is going to require considerable patience, but it is clearly a jewel of a wine, even at this early stage. (AG)" (04/2012)
