1995 Potensac, Médoc

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Elegant, complex, and evolved, the saturated dark ruby-colored 1995 exhibits herb-tinged, black currant/weedy cassis-like flavors that are supple, round, generous, and appealing. (RP)" (2/1998) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Dark red. Cooler aromas of dark berries and menthol. Sweet and textured in the mouth; already displaying plenty of personality. Flavors are more evolved than those of the '96, and also more accessible today. Finishes with substantial chewy tannins. (ST)" (5/1998) Wine Spectator: "Very aromatic, with cherry, currant and flowers. Medium- to full-bodied, with fine tannins and a fresh, cl ...Read More »

1995 Malescot-St-Exupery, Margaux

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine may merit an outstanding rating. It offers a classic Margaux combination of elegance and richness. Medium-bodied, with delicate, beautifully ripe, black currant and floral aromas that compete with subtle new oak, the 1995 Malescot hits the palate with a lovely concoction of fruit, nicely integrated tannin and acidity, and a stylish, graceful feel. This quintessentially elegant Bordeaux should continue to improve in the bottle. A beauty! (RP)" (2/1998) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Plenty of plum and floral aromas, with hints of red licorice. Medium- to full-bodied, with fine ...Read More »

1995 Troplong-Mondot, St-Émilion

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Totally shut down and enclosed, with an impressively saturated purple/black color and a promising but tightly strung nose of mineral, vanilla, espresso, black cherry and currant, this wine has beautiful purity, medium to full body, relatively high but sweet tannin, and a long 30-35 second finish. The wine is very firm but impressive as well as promising. Patience please! Anticipated maturity: 2007-2020. (RP)" (1/2003) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Very good saturated ruby-red. Very ripe aromas of black cherry, chocolate and licorice; more crystallized than cooked fruit-as the heat in ' ...Read More »

1995 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac

94 points Wine Spectator: "Fabulous nose of crushed currants, blackberries and forest flowers. Full-bodied, with plenty of ripe fruit and silky tannins. This is really holding back. (Web-2007)" 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An old style Pauillac, yet made with far more purity and richness than the estate's ancient vintages, this broad-shouldered, muscular, classic wine exhibits a saturated purple color, and sensationally dense, rich, concentrated, cassis flavors that roll over the palate with impressive purity and depth. The wine is tannic and closed, but powerful and rich. It appears to possess length and inten ...Read More »

1995 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac Back In Stock!
1995 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "What sumptuous pleasures await those who purchase either the 1996 or 1995 Pichon Lalande. It is hard to choose a favorite, although the 1995 is a smoother, more immediately sexy and accessible wine. It is an exquisite example of Pichon-Lalande with the Merlot component giving the wine a coffee/chocolatey/cherry component to go along with the Cabernet Sauvignon's and Cabernet Franc's complex blackberry/cassis fruit. The wine possesses an opaque black/ruby/purple color, and sexy, flamboyant aromatics of pain grille, black fruits, and cedar. Exquisite o ...Read More »

1995 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1995 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (95JS, 95RP, 95VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bottled in June, 1997, this profound Mouton is more accessible than the more muscular 1996. A blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 19% Merlot, it reveals an opaque purple color, and reluctant aromas of cassis, truffles, coffee, licorice, and spice. In the mouth, the wine is 'great stuff,' with superb density, a full-bodied personality, rich mid-palate, and a layered, profound finish that lasts for 40+ seconds. There is outstanding purity and high tannin, but my instincts suggest this wine is lower in acidity and slightly fleshier than the brawnier, bigger 1996. Both are great efforts from Mouton-Rothschild. (RP)" (02/1998)

1995 Latour, Pauillac (Previously 700) Back In Stock!
1995 Latour, Pauillac (Previously 700)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A beauty, the opaque dense purple-colored 1995 exhibits jammy cassis, vanillin, and minerals in its fragrant but still youthful aromatics. Medium to full-bodied, with exceptional purity, superb concentration, and a long, intense, ripe, 40-second finish, this is a magnificent example of Latour. As the wine sat in the glass, scents of roasted espresso and toasty new oak emerged. This classic will require considerable cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2050. (RP)" (6/2000) 94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby-red color. More expressive aromas of crystallized dark berries, dark choco ...Read More »

Bid on this bottle of 1995 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (100JS, 99WE, 98W&S, 97ST, 96WS, 95RP). James Suckling: "An incredible nose, so subtle with red fruits, mint, minerals, and all sorts of flowers give way to Cohiba cigar tobacco. The palate has such freshness and density, with perfectly polished tannins. Slightly leathery, like a wonderful Hermes bag. What a wine, please leave this for another ten years. Pull the cork in 2020. 10% Merlot." (02/2011)

1995 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien (1.5L)

92 points Wine Spectator: "Black licorice and currants on the nose. Very fragrant. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a long finish. Still needs time to come together.--'95/'96 Bordeaux retrospective. Best after 2008. (JS, Web-2007)" 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "While not as backward as the 1996, the opaque purple-colored 1995 is a tannic, unevolved, dense, concentrated wine that will require 8-10 years of cellaring. The 1995 exhibits pain grille, blackcurrant, mineral, and subtle tobacco in its complex yet youthful aromatics. Powerful, dense, concentrated cassis and blueberry flavors might be marginally soft ...Read More »

1995 Tertre Roteboeuf, St-Emilion

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A very powerful, concentrated Tertre Roteboeuf, but completely closed at present, this wine has a deep ruby/purple color, and a sweet nose of black cherry and plum jam intermixed with hints of vanilla, chocolate, and espresso roast. The wine is medium to full-bodied, quite tannic, powerful, and one of the more backward wines I have tasted at this estate. It requires much more cellaring than I originally anticipated. 94+ (RP)" (1/2003) 94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Very good deep red-ruby color. Fabulously expressive, superripe aromas of black raspberry, black cherry, maple syrup, toffe ...Read More »

1995 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien 12-pack in OWC

92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted wonderful in October 2000. A meaty rich ripe nose of cassis, mulberry and cherry. Full-bodied and expansive structure. Approachable with layers of strawberries and red fruits. A rich voluptuous Barton that should be ready in 2-3 yrs. Then blind in April 2005. A very attractive nose with a slight under-ripeness that lends it freshness and vitality. The palate is well-balanced with toasty new oak. But quite backward compared to others with a dense sweet, chocolate tinged finish. Quite modern in style on the surface, but you can tell that there is a ...Read More »
