2010 Andron, Haut-Médoc Top Pick!
2010 Andron, Haut-Médoc

91 points Wine Spectator: "This has a large core of dark currant, plum and fig fruit rolled together and inlaid with baker's chocolate, dark tobacco and loam notes. The long, solid, muscular finish lets the fruit and loam play out nicely. Best from 2014 through 2020. (JM)" (3/2013) Wine Enthusiast: "This stalky, firmly tannic wine is still developing. Dominated by Merlot, it has black currant fruits in the background with acidity and crispness. Give this structured wine another few years and drink from 2016. (RV)" (9/2015)

2010 Brillette, Moulis (Previously $22) Top Pick!
2010 Brillette, Moulis (Previously $22)

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another superb over-achiever from the appellation of Moulis in the Medoc, this wine, a blend of 48% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, shows lots of licorice, barbecue smoke, charcuterie, plum and black currants. It hits the palate with a medium to full-bodied opulence. The tannins are sweet and the acidity adequate to provide definition and vibrancy. This is a beauty. An outstanding effort from proprietors, the Flageul family. (RP)" (2/2013) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Pure, lush and caressing, with lovely mouthfeel to the layers of dark plu ...Read More »

2010 Joanin Bécot, Côtes de Castillon (special label) (Previously $22)

90 points James Suckling: "Fresh spicy nose with coffee, red plums and cranberry. Some vanilla, nutmeg and white pepper. Crushed chalk behind the fruit. Vibrant and juicy red fruit on the palate with ripe tannins and good length. Medium-full body." (3/2013) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux 2010 tasting. The Joanin Becot has a simple bouquet with raspberry and balsamic scents that open and muster more vigour with time, the oak nicely integrated and revealing floral tones. The palate is medium-bodied with a tannic, masculine entry. This is very structured with a dry finish, but ...Read More »

2010 Cantemerle, Haut-Médoc Top Pick!
2010 Cantemerle, Haut-Médoc

94 points James Suckling: "A wine with blueberry and mineral aromas follows through to a full body, with fine tannins and a juicy finish. Best for years from here. Needs at least three years of bottle age to soften. Could be better than 2009 in the long run." (2/2013) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The wine needs a good 7-10 years of cellaring and should keep for 30 more years, but this is the finest Cantemerle I have encountered in my professional career of tasting young vintages (dating back 34 years now). Stunningly deep ruby/purple, with a beautiful nose of spring flowers intermixed with perfumed raspberry an ...Read More »

2010 La Cardonne, Médoc

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A superb blend of 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc, the 2010 from this well-known property has performed as well as I’ve ever tasted. A sleeper of the vintage, this endearing style of wine has copious quantities of ripe black cherry and black currant fruit interwoven with hints of forest floor, licorice and subtle background oak. It is medium to full-bodied, rich, textured and, overall, an enormously seductive style of wine to drink over the next 7-8 years. (RP)" (2/2013)

2010 Langoa-Barton, St-Julien

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Fruity and juicy, this showcases the accessibility of this estate, while also highlighting some of the tannic structure of its big brother, Léoville-Barton. There is a classic black-currant note that's balanced by the firm tannins of the vintage. (RV)" (2/2013) 94 points Wine Spectator: "Tightly focused, with a beam of cassis and blackberry fruit framed by integrated espresso and charcoal notes. The ample structure drives the polished finish, allowing extra notes of plum sauce, pastis and blueberry coulis to stride through. Shows serious grip at the very end. Best from 2016 through ...Read More »

(4/2011) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is good to see this well-situated estate in St.-Estephe get back on track. The 2010 has loads of beef blood, charcuterie and smoked game along with black currant fruit. Some underlying graphite notes are also present in this full-bodied, meaty, fleshy wine, which has outstanding concentration and the potential to last for 15 or more years. Yet the fruit and acidity balance this muscular wine. Try in 2018." (2/2013) 93 points Wine Spectator: "There's a nice charcoal note driving this from the start, while the dark plum, blackberry and black currant fruit waits in reserve. Ganache, licorice snap and tobacco fill in the finish and give this added range, while a singed alder wood note runs underneath for added texture and length. Impressive. Best from 2015 through 2030. This wine is truly profound Bordeaux. Everything is in place – remarkable concentration and a beautiful nose of cedar and ripe blackcurrant and blackberry with some kirsch and spice box in the background. It has a wonderful bouquet with an instantaneous sense of completeness and harmony, with layers of botrytized fruit intermingling with apricot blossom, peach skin and marmalade. The oak is pushed far into the background and the tannins are extremely silky, but the intensity of the wine is profound and the finish lingers for close to 55 seconds. Bid on this bottle of 2010 Pape Clément, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 96JS, 95WE, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I certainly underrated the 2010 Pape Clement from barrel, rating it only 93-95+. (Thank God I put a 'plus' there!) Having tasted it four times in Bordeaux, and rating it perfect three times and 99 the fourth time, this final blend of 51% Merlot, 47.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 1.5% Petit Verdot is perfection in a bottle. Tipping the scales at 14.5% natural alcohol, there are 8,000 cases of it. Its sublime elegance, the power, the medium to full-bodied texture, the silky tannins, the subtle notes of smoke, lead pencil shavings, black currants, charcoal, camphor, blueberry and cassis fruit are all remarkable. It is a rich, full-throttle wine, but the elegance and the great terroir of Pape Clement come through in abundance. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Troplong Mondot, St-Emilion (99RP, 95ST, 94JS, 94WS, 92WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Inky, bluish/black/purple, with notes of spring flowers, licorice, camphor, graphite, and a boatload of blueberry, black raspberry and blackberry fruit, this is a powerful, full-bodied Troplong Mondot. All the building components of acidity, tannin, wood and alcohol are judiciously and impressively integrated. It is a blend of 90% Merlot and the rest equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc made by Christine Valette and her husband Xavier Pariente with the consultancy help of Michel Rolland. I-m not sure what the heady alcohol level is in Troplong Mondot in 2010 (it certainly must be in the 15%+ range), but it is well-concealed behind the extravagant, richness, full-bodied power, and pure nobility of this majestic wine. 2010 Larcis Ducasse, St-Emilion
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Larcis Ducasse, St-Emilion (98RP, 97JS, 97VN, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The wine boasts 14.6% natural alcohol and is a final blend of roughly three-fourths Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc, cropped at a ridiculously low 19 hectoliters per hectare. Notes of licorice, garrigue, incense, smoked meats, espresso, creme de cassis and blackberry liqueur jump from the glass of this unbelievably intense wine. Remarkably full, with compelling freshness and precision, this is a fabulous effort in 2010. It will probably close down over the next several years, and not re-emerge for at least a decade, something that often happens with the bigger, richer, more muscular St.-Emilions from the limestone hillsides and plateaux. This is one of the superstars of the vintage and a profound wine. Drink it between 2020 and 2045. 98+ (RP)" (02/2013)

2010 Figeac, St-Emilion Top Pick!
2010 Figeac, St-Emilion

98 points James Suckling: "This is phenomenal on the nose with blackberries, fresh cep mushrooms, forest fruit, and earth. Turns to hazelnuts and dark berries. Subtle. Breathtaking. It's full-bodied on the palate, with superb tannins that last for minutes. The flavor is subtle yet incredible. Love the texture. It is the same wonderful quality level as 2009. This is so fabulous to taste now, but so much better in 2018." (2/2013) 96 points Wine Enthusiast: "This Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated wine always stands out as a powerhouse of impressive tannins. In 2010, it is complex with a dense structure, tight mineral ...Read More »

James Suckling: "Beautiful nose with cocoa powder, exotic flowers, candied violets and loads of dark berries. Great aromatic complexity. Amazing texture on palate with a superb precision and silky tannins. So beautifully composed showing already great harmony. Difficult to wait! Better in 2018. " (02/2013)

2010 Beauséjour (Duffau), St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Beauséjour (Duffau), St-Emilion (100RP, (98-99JS), 95ST, 95WS, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "*Best of 2013* The 2010 is a more structured, masculine and steely version of the utterly compelling 2009. Tasting like black raspberry confiture with subtle notes of graphite and crushed chalk along with enormous floral notes, the wine displays a slightly smoky character but a voluptuous attack, mid-palate and finish. Its is full-bodied and massively endowed, with every component perfectly etched in this extraordinary wine, which should be drinkable after 7-8 years of bottle age and last for a half-century or more. This is brilliant stuff. Composed of 73% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon from yields of 21 hectoliters per hectare, the alcohol is the highest ever registered at Beausejour-Duffau, coming in at 15%, but remarkably, the pH is modest and the acids relatively elevated, giving the wine an astonishing freshness and precision that i

2010 Pavie, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Pavie, St-Emilion (100RP, 98JS, (94-97WS), 95ST, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "What fun, excitement and joy it will be to compare the four perfect wines Perse has made in 2005, 2009, 2010 and, of course, the 2000, in 25 or so years. This wine is truly profound Bordeaux. Everything is in place - remarkable concentration and a beautiful nose of cedar and ripe blackcurrant and blackberry with some kirsch and spice box in the background. Lavishly rich, with slightly more structure and delineation than the more Rabelaisian 2009, this wine does show some serious tannins in the finish, and comes across as incredibly youthful. Of course, it's five years old, but it tastes more like a just-bottled barrel sample than a 2010. In any event, this wine is set for a long, long life and should be forgotten for at least another decade. Consume it over the following 75 or more years." (08/2016)

2010 Pavie Macquin, St-Emilion
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Pavie Macquin, St-Emilion (97WS, 95JS, 95RP, 94ST, 94WE, 93CG). Wine Spectator: "This takes the fruit of 2009 but harnesses it even more quickly, with rivets of graphite and apple wood studding the core of plum sauce, blackberry reduction and raspberry pâte de fruit. Ample singed apple wood lines the finish, melded wonderfully with the fruit, while the minerality lingers on and on in the background, waiting in reserve. Around it all, a beguiling violet note dances. The combination of power and purity is a wonderful thing.—Non-blind Pavie Macquin vertical (December 2014). Best from 2020 through 2035. 2010 Clinet, Pomerol

97 points James Suckling: "Gorgeous nose with lots of dark fruit like plum and blueberries. Crushed pepper and chalk with wild strawberries and vanilla. Dense and velvety on the palate with superbly polished tannins and great depth. It's absolutely gorgeous now but needs at least five to six years of bottle age to really shows its great quality." (2/2013) 96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2010 Clinet is a baby, but man, what a wine. Checking in as mostly Merlot, with small amounts of both Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, this deep ruby/purple-tinged beauty gives up fresh, tight aromas of blackcurrants, bla ...Read More »

2010 Clos de L'Oratoire, St-Emilion

94-95 points James Suckling: "Love the finish to this. It really kicks in with bright acidity, citrus and blackberries and minerals too. This is complex. Full and super silky. Loving it!" (4/2011) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It displays loads of Christmas fruitcake, licorice, incense, black cherry and black currant liqueur with some smoky barbecue notes as well as hints of coffee bean and chocolate. Sexy, full-throttle and impossible to resist already, it should continue to drink well for 15 or more years, and I don't anticipate this particular wine closing down. 2010 Le Dôme, St Emilion
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Le Dôme, St Emilion (100RP, 95WE, 93JS, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A full-bodied wine, but ethereal in its elegance and finesse, the wine has a strikingly provocative bouquet of camphor, blueberry jam, violets, new saddle leather, white chocolate and spice. Extremely full-bodied, but again, not showing any weighty fatigue or any type of aggressiveness, this wine has extraordinary purity and richness as well as a blockbuster finish of close to a minute, yet is so flawless, seamless and compelling, it’s hard to believe the wine is this concentrated and rich. It will be interesting to see how it evolves, but it certainly can be drunk in 3-4 years and, I’m sure, cellared for as long as 25-35 years from now ... (RP)" (02/2013)

2010 La Confession, St-Emilion

92-93 points James Suckling: "Solid and structure with mineral and blueberry character. Long and silky. Intense and balanced. Confession of high quality here." (4/2011) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Gloria is an ass-kicking, fabulous value once again from this estate, which would probably be classified if the 1855 hierarchy of the wines of the Medoc were ever done again. Abundant notes of cedar wood, fruitcake, flowers, creme de cassis and kirsch are all present in this full-bodied, opulent, dense, dark ruby/purple wine. It is slightly more restrained than the flamboyant 2009, but equal in quality. This is ...Read More »

95 points James Suckling: "Impressive nose with leather, dark polished fruit and flowers. Wonderful mouthfeel with soft silky tannins and beautiful texture. Really well put together. Powerful and rich with loads of fruit and ripe tannins. Very ripe. Try in 2016." (11/2013) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Lead pencil shavings, soy and barbecue smoke as well as red and black currants characterize this brilliant effort, which has an expansive, full-bodied mouthfeel yet a sublime elegance and lightness of being. Dense ruby/purple, gorgeous purity and a long, long finish of close to 50 seconds characterize another bril ...Read More »

2010 Moulin Riche, St-Julien

92 points James Suckling: "Aromas of blueberries and blackberries and spices follow through to a full body, with silky tannins and a pretty finish. Very refined and delicious. Give it at least three to four years. Try in 2016." (2/2013) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux 2010 tasting. The Chateau Moulin Riche 2010 is laden with plenty of ripe red cherries, boysenberry and violet petal scents on the nose with moderate definition. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. It is very cohesive with succulent ripe black fruit layering the rounded finish. This is a thoroughly res ...Read More »

2010 Haut-Bailly, Pessac-Léognan 6-Pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

98 points James Suckling: "Great aromas of crushed blackberries with flowers and stones that follow through to a full body, with super silky tannins and a long, long finish. It fills your mouth with beautiful fruit and velvety tannins yet shows tension and form. This lasts for minutes on the palate. Structured and superb. Don't touch until 2020." (11/2013) 98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep plum/purple, Haut-Bailly’s 2010 required some coaxing to appreciate its subtle notes of barbecue smoke, lead pencil shavings and creme de cassis as well as its touches of pomegranate and forest floor. The oak is pushed far in ...Read More »

95 points James Suckling: "Intense hazelnuts and blackberries on the nose follow through to a full to medium body, with chocolate and berry flavors and firm tannins. Not giving away a lot at the finish at the moment. Reserved and sophisticated. But structured and chewy." (2/2013) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An absolutely magnificent wine from this very popular estate, which sits well off the Route du Vin, just to the southwest of the town of Pauillac, its classic creme de cassis and floral notes are well-displayed. 2010 Feytit Clinet, Pomerol 12-Pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

96 points James Suckling: "A wine with beautiful balance of blackberries, dark chocolate and flowers. Full body, with very refined tannins and a glorious finish. Speechless. Best wine ever from here. Better after 2017." (11/2013) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As I have indicated in previous reports, Feytit-Clinet is a property on the rise. The 2010 comes from a tiny vineyard of about 18+ acres just across the street from Trotanoy and Latour a Pomerol. A blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc reaching 14.5% natural alcohol (a nearly standard level of alcohol in most Pomerols and St.-Emilions in 2010), this win ...Read More »
