2010 Troplong Mondot, St-Emilion (Pre-Arrival)

99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Inky, bluish/black/purple, with notes of spring flowers, licorice, camphor, graphite, and a boatload of blueberry, black raspberry and blackberry fruit, this is a powerful, full-bodied Troplong Mondot. All the building components of acidity, tannin, wood and alcohol are judiciously and impressively integrated. It is a blend of 90% Merlot and the rest equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc made by Christine Valette and her husband Xavier Pariente with the consultancy help of Michel Rolland. I-m not sure what the heady alcohol level is in Troplo ...Read More »

2010 Brown Rouge, Pessac-Léognan

91-94 points Wine Spectator: "Barrel sample. Deliciously juicy and engaging, with aromas and flavors of currant, cherry and blackberry preserves, filled in with hints of spice and fig bread. A lightly tarry edge frames the finish. Jean-Christophe Mau is doing really good work here." (4/2011) 92 points James Suckling: "Fruit-forward aromas turn to spices and warm stones. Full body, with chewy tannins and a juicy finish. Really delicious young wine. Hard not to drink now, but better in 2016." 2010 La Tour Carnet, Haut-Médoc

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Probably La Tour Carnet's best since their 2001, the 2010 La Tour Carnet exhibits wonderful ripeness, a dense ruby/purple color, notes of licorice, camphor and some toast as well as lots of black currant and blueberry fruit. It is medium to full-bodied, with attractive sweetness of tannin, good acidity, excellent delineation to its component parts, and a full-bodied, impressively long finish. This wine may close down somewhat, given the moderate tannins, but it seems relatively accessible despite being a 2010. 2010 Fourcas Hosten, Listrac

89-91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Big, bold, tannic wine, the dry core of tannins leavened by the black currant juice acidity. There is some extraction and a strong wood element, although the wine does profit from its freshness." (6/2011) 90 points James Suckling: "Lovely aromas of flowers and berries follow through to a full body, with fine tannins and a fresh finish. So drinkable now but better in 2016." (3/2013) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Slightly deeper than its sibling namesake, Fourcas Dupre, the 2010 Fourcas Hostens exhibits some notes of cigar smoke, red currants, roasted herbs in a straightforward, slightly deeper style. 93 points James Suckling: "Extreme nose of crushed raspberries and minerals. Full body, with very integrated tannins and a fresh clean finish. Lasts for minutes. Very well done. Better in 2016." (2/2013) 90-92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Great swathes of sweet tannins and ripe berry fruits, the wine is delicious, ripe, concentrated and intense without losing charm." (6/2011) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Chateau Clarke 2010 has a well-defined bouquet with ripe blackberry and strawberry fruit, touches of eau-de-vie and liquorice emerging to render the aromatics quite medicinal, in stark contrast to its showing a year ago. The palate is medium-b ...Read More »

2010 La Parde de Haut-Bailly, Pessac-Léognan

Vibrant and smooth on the palate with good fruit and fine soft tannins. Smooth, long finish. Second wine of Haut-Bailly. Drink after 2015." (3/2013) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Shows good structure, with a graphite edge running from start to finish. 2010 Duhart-Milon, Pauillac (OWC)
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2010 Duhart-Milon, Pauillac (OWC - 96RP, 93JS, 93WE, 91WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Dense purple, with classic notes of cedar and lead pencil shavings as well as gobs of back currants and licorice, the wine has a full-bodied mouthfeel with fabulous precision and density. It also possesses a long, silky finish with moderately high tannins, but they are ripe and well-integrated. The wood is clearly pushed to the background in this dense, full-bodied Pauillac, which should drink beautifully for 30+ years. (RP)" (02/2013)

2010 Croix de Beaucaillou, St-Julien (1.5L)

94 points James Suckling: "I love the aromas of minerals, flowers, blackberries and blueberries. Full body with a fabulous texture of polished and integrated tannins. It goes on for minutes. Spicy, subtle fruit and a long and marvelous finish. Currant bush undertones. A whole and beautiful wine. The second wine of Ducru-Beaucaillou. Drink or hold." (2/2013) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "No longer a second wine of Ducru-Beaucaillou, but a wine from its own separate vineyard, Croix de Beaucaillou is impressive. Firm while also rich, it is firmly tannic, superripe and packed with great dark plum and berry fruits. F ...Read More »

2010 Bellevue, St-Emilion

93 points James Suckling: "A beautiful purity of dark fruits to this with currants and blackberries on the nose. Flowers too. Full body, with ultra-fine tannins and a tangy finish. Attractive citrus character on the finish. Very fine indeed. Better in 2017." (2/2013) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Very alluring, with dense but silky-textured layers of boysenberry, fig and blackberry fruit. As this moves toward the finish, extra briar, toasted wood spice and black licorice notes emerge, lending drive and greater definition, without overshadowing the pure fruit. Best from 2014 through 2024. (JM)" (3/2013) K&L Notes: 98% Merlot,... Read More »

2010 La Mission-Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (1.5L)

100 points James Suckling: "This is crazy. The nose is so unique with the iodine, stones and currant aromas with wet earth and mushroom. Aromas like this don't usually come out until 10 years or so in the bottle. Classic nose for this estate. Full-bodied, with an amazing palate of firm yet polished tannins and a solid palate. So dense and gorgeous. It is really stunning. Try in 2020." (2/2013) 98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A strong candidate for a perfect score in about 15 years, the 2010 La Mission Haut-Brion could well turn out to be a modern-day version of their 1955. Sadly (or maybe fortunately) for me, I'm n ...Read More »

2010 La Tour Blanche, Sauternes (375ml)

91-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, pale yellow-gold. Exotic aromas of apricot, kiwi and minerals, complicated by smoky botrytis. Very clean and focused in the mouth, with pure, penetrating orange marmalade and ripe citrus flavors lifted by minerals and saffron. Refined and elegant in its mouth feel and very long on the aftertaste. Extremely well done. (ID)" (8/2011) 94 points Wine Spectator: "Lush and captivating, showing layers of pineapple, peach, passion fruit and mango entwined with one another and carried by a bright green almond note through the finish. Not shy on depth, but offers a decidedly prettier ...Read More »

2010 Les Carmes Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan

93 points James Suckling: "The blueberries, walnut and chocolate character here is impressive. Full and very silky with refined tannins and a silky finish. Very pretty. Wonderful balance like the 2009." (2/2013) 91-93 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Barrel Sample* Ripe, soft fruit and tannins that come from fruit rather than wood. The acidity is a dominant factor, with great wafts of bright black currant fruits and final tannins." (6/2011) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Offers a plush feel, with warm cocoa and steeped blueberry notes leading the way, backed by dark, fleshy plum and blackberry fruit. A loamy edge takes over on the finish, revealing a f ...Read More »

96 points James Suckling: "Dark fruits such as raspberries and blueberries with subtle perfume on the nose. Full body, with super well-integrated tannins and a fresh and clean finish. Racy young wine. Shows classy structure and richness. Try in 2018." (11/2013) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is one of my all-time favorite wines from Domaine de Chevalier, a silky, rather classic Pessac-Leognan with notes of scorched earth, tobacco leaf and black and red currants, but no hard edges. Fragrant, complex aromatics are followed by a savory, expansively flavored wine made from a final blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon ...Read More »
