2006 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

95 points Connoisseurs Guide: "*Three Stars* Already amazingly seductive with wonderfully rich aromas of sweet oak, cocoa and fully expressed fruit making a first-rate introduction, this riveting young wine in no way lets up on the palate and delivers deep, multi-faceted flavors that combine ripeness, sweet oak and very precise fruit in near-perfect proportion. As is often the case with Insignia bottlings, it is so beautifully balanced that it invites early drinking, and, while we do not condemn giving in to its charms, we also would lobby strongly for patience as its best years lie d ...Read More »

2006 Maybach Family "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon

96 points Wine Spectator: "An amazing wine, smooth, rich and layered, full-bodied and elegant. Delivers a complex mix of supple currant and blackberry, with touches of anise, cedar and mineral that unfold on the palate, offering extra dimensions of complexity and nuance at every turn. The finish is delightful." (10/2009) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Virtually all Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2006 Materium boasts complex notes of lead pencil shavings, creme de cassis, licorice, new saddle leather, and loamy soil undertones. The wine possesses extraordinary purity and texture as well as full-bodied power, elegance, sw ...Read More »

2006 Cain "Five" Spring Mountain District Bordeaux Blend

Jancis Robinson: "Dark purplish crimson. Appealing juicy fruit with a little overlay of walnuts on the nose. Some personality and a fruity core. Quite dusty and full blooded with slightly rustic tannins. Distinctive! I like the fact that the winemaker has not been afraid of tannin. Quite burly rather than super smooth. Out of the mould – so therefore mountain fruit..? I just wonder whether the fruit won’t fade a little bit too early for the tannins? Dry finish. But this is serious artisanal wine. (JR)" (3/2010) K&L Notes: The 2006 Cain Five is a warm, plump, plush wine. It has a nice ... Read More »

2006 Colgin "Cariad" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Meriting the same rating I gave it at its release, the 2006 Cariad is composed of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot. One of the stars of the vintage, this thrilling, opaque purple-colored wine offers up sweet espresso, jus de viande, blackberry, blueberry, flower and chocolate aromas. A fabulous texture, tremendous purity, sensational brightness and authoritative flavor intensity allied to striking complexity and elegance are the signature of this creative blend from the David Abreu vineyards of Thorevilos and Mad ...Read More »

2006 Larkmead "The Lark" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A new cuvee, the 2006 The Lark (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) comes from the proprietor’s favorite block, which was once identified by the late Harold Olmo as his choice for Cabernet Sauvignon. It is only four barrels, or 100 cases, so I’ll keep my notes short. The wine displays beautiful sweetness and opulence in a style very much like the Solari, and at this stage it seems hard to differentiate from that wine. (RP)" (12/2008) 94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Saturated medium ruby. Superripe aromas of cassis, black plum and dark chocolate. 2006 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 7,000 cases of the prodigious 2006 Proprietary Red Wine (a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec). Most of the fruit comes from the Stagecoach Vineyard and the Waters Ranch. Sweet, smoky, meaty aromas interwoven with melted asphalt, camphor, blackberry, cassis, and charcoal scents emerge from the complex aromatics. In the mouth, the wine is full-bodied, displaying sweet tannin, a concentrated mouthfeel, and a long, heady finish with substantial fruit, glycerin, and extract. It should ...Read More »

2006 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

95 points Connoisseurs Guide: "*Three Stars* Among the deepest, most complete Cabernets that we have yet encountered from 2006, Shafer's latest tête de cuvee wins high praise for both concentration and keen focus. Its plentiful blackcurrant fruit dovetails perfectly with its equally generous oak, and it flavors build and build en route a long and wonderfully sustained finish. There is great scale and substance about this one, yet the wine manages to avoid being too much, and it will age famously for ten years or more on the strength of its exceptional balance." 2006 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the more backward efforts is the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon Schrader. It is dense and full-bodied, but holding more in reserve. As I wrote last year, this is a fascinating portfolio of 100% Cabernet Sauvignons all of them from Beckstoffer-owned vineyards, including the To-Kalon Vineyard in Oakville, and one wine from the George III Vineyard in Rutherford... I think the 2006s are arguably the finest wines of the vintage, and the 2007s appear to be as profound. (RP)" (12/2008) 95 points Wine Spectator: "Dense, rich and concentrated. This is ready to go today. Why wait?" (2/2011) 94 points Wine Spectator: "Complex, riveting aromas of spice, cola and sassafras join wild berry, spice, black cherry and sage notes in this full-bodied, intensely flavored, tightly focused and very persistent display of fruit that's long and lingering. 2006 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon New!
2006 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

91 points Wine & Spirits: "This is a dark fruited and floral 2006, with more of the tobacco and green herb character than most growers in Napa Valley allow Cabernet to express. That varietal character adds complexity and firm structure to a rich and sleek wine. cellar it for several years to let the oak integrate into fruit, then serve with prime rib." (10/2011) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "* Cellar Selection * A good wine, with jammy Cabernet flavors of blackberries, cassis and savory spices. 2006 Opus One Napa Valley Proprietary Red

95 points James Suckling: "Sage and mint in the nose, it is Opus style. Full bodied and layered, with polished tannins and wonderful length. This is tight, but fascinating still. This wine has a good future, very juicy, and will only keep getting better." (2/2011) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 comes across as a bigger, more structured wine than the 2007. The tannins are bolder, more dramatic, and more present. The wine displays impressive depth, not the velvety elegance of the 2007, but is a more muscular wine that begs for 2-3 years of cellaring and should drink well for 20-25 years. Gains depth and complexity, with a long, persistent finish." (10/2009) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* Not very pleasant now due to the sharpness and bitterness of the texture, as well as the wood tannins that come from aging in 100% new oak. 2006 Hundred Acre "Deep Time" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Hundred Acre "Deep Time" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Finally in the bottle, the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Deep Time is the only wine from that vintage I tasted. Most of these wines spend 38-40 months in barrel and as a result seem to be remarkably elegant and complex without showing any new oak. This cuvee is a selection from Kayli Morgan that has been aged longer. Notes of spice box, white chocolate, espresso and sweet black cherries and black currants tumble from the glass of this full-bodied, round, generously endowed wine that has no hard edges. It should continue to drink well for another 12-15+ years. (RP)" (12/2010)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The flagship wine, the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon Old Sparky, is another remarkable effort, offering up smoky blackberry and cassis fruit intermixed with notions of bouquet garni, roasted meats, creosote, and cedar.
