2006 Heitz Cellar "Trailside" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Wine Spectator: "Pure, rich and graceful, with an elegant mix of plum, currant, blackberry, licorice, savory herb and dusty oak notes. Very complete and easy to enjoy now. The tannins are chewy and gripping, but this one is ready and should hold another five years with ease.-2006 California Cabernet blind retrospective (December 2015). Drink now through 2022. 2006 Arietta "Quartet" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

93 points Wine Spectator: "This captures the essence of Bordeaux complexity with Napa style, delivering a complex, compelling mix of spicy herb, dried currant, sage, mineral and tobacco in a full-bodied style and ending with firm, spicy, earthy tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2017." (3/2009) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good, deep ruby-red. Rather sullen aromas of bitter chocolate, licorice, smoke and menthol. Sweet, layered and deep, with a subtle sweetness to the flavors of blueberry and dark chocolate. Finishes with sweet tannins and an edge of acidity. ...Read More »

2006 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points James Suckling: "This has a leafy currant, mint, and raspberry nose. Complex and very pretty. Full bodied and very firm, with super fine tannins and a long, long finish. This is subtle and complex, but needs another three years." (2/2011) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-red. Blackberry, cassis and boysenberry aromas complemented by licorice, violet, menthol and bitter chocolate. Juicy, intensely flavored and quite fresh but a bit youthfully disjointed, with a firm tannin/acid spine supporting the crushed dark berry and menthol flavors. The wine's substantial tannins will need time to knit, bu ...Read More »

2006 Cain "Five" Spring Mountain District Bordeaux Blend

Jancis Robinson: "Dark purplish crimson. Appealing juicy fruit with a little overlay of walnuts on the nose. Some personality and a fruity core. Quite dusty and full blooded with slightly rustic tannins. Distinctive! I like the fact that the winemaker has not been afraid of tannin. Quite burly rather than super smooth. Out of the mould – so therefore mountain fruit..? I just wonder whether the fruit won’t fade a little bit too early for the tannins? Dry finish. But this is serious artisanal wine. (JR)" (3/2010) K&L Notes: The 2006 Cain Five is a warm, plump, plush wine. It has a nice ... Read More »

2006 Crocker & Star "Stone Place" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Stone Place possesses some obvious minerality, a boatload of tannins, and more austerity. Nevertheless, it is packed and stacked with black fruits given the fact that it is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. (RP)" (12/2009) K&L Notes: Crocker & Starr's Cabernet Sauvignon is made from old, heritage clone estate vines which are sustainably and organically farmed.

2006 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

99 points James Suckling: "Minerals, mint, and berries in the nose. Full, powerful, polished, with wonderfully dense tannins. The finish is long, long, long. This is amazing, I love the freshness and length. Very classy and elegant, wonderful stuff. I am wow'd. Great length, it's muscular with wonderful definition. This will be even more of a dream in 2015." (2/2011) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The full-bodied 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon does not possess any of the hard, foreboding tannins found in some 2006 Cabernets, but rather, it displays a silky, velvety personality. Although not as nuanced or complex as the ...Read More »

2006 Anomaly Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dense ruby/purple-colored 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits notes of barrique smells intermixed with blueberry, blackberry, and a hint of spring flowers. The wine is medium to full-bodied and has super-purity, sweet tannins for this vintage, and decent acidity. It should drink nicely for at least 10-15 or more years. There are just under 1,000 cases each of these cuvees of Cabernet Sauvignon (each is blended with tiny percentages of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot) from a vineyard behind the town of St. Helena, adjacent to the foothills of the Mayac ...Read More »

2006 Ackerman Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Wine of the Week, St. Helena Star: "This 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon is all Coombsville: expressive, complex fruit and fresh acidity. While this vintage sports a Napa Valley price tag, it is one of those wines that is worth it for a special occasion. If you have a bottle or more in your cellar already, it should continue to age nicely as well. The wine has black cherry fruit with integrated spice and vanilla flavors built on a balanced structure with refreshing acidity." (July 21, 2014)

2006 Barnett "Cyrus Ryan" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "***Cellar Selection*** Made in the modern, cult Napa style, this Cab, from a vineyard north of St. Helena, is tremendously rich, soft and oaky. It strikes you with effusive flavors of ripe black currants, chocolate, anise and cedar, but most impressive is the smooth quality of the tannins. Youthfully brash now, it should gather forces and mellow out after 2010 and beyond." 2006 Hundred Acre "Ark Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

Last year, this wine revealed considerable softness, but that has morphed into a more delineated, beautifully dense, full-bodied Cabernet with dazzling fragrance and glycerin in addition to an extravagant fruit character. It, too, should drink beautifully for 20 years. (RP)" (12/2008) 95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red-ruby. (2/2011) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, a candidate for Cabernet of the vintage, reveals a gorgeous perfume of chocolate, black raspberries, flowers, ink, and graphite, followed by a full-bodied, textured, superbly concentrated wine with terrific purity as well as density... 2006 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the more backward efforts is the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon Schrader. It is dense and full-bodied, but holding more in reserve. As I wrote last year, this is a fascinating portfolio of 100% Cabernet Sauvignons all of them from Beckstoffer-owned vineyards, including the To-Kalon Vineyard in Oakville, and one wine from the George III Vineyard in Rutherford...
