2006 Heitz Cellar "Trailside" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Wine Spectator: "Pure, rich and graceful, with an elegant mix of plum, currant, blackberry, licorice, savory herb and dusty oak notes. Very complete and easy to enjoy now. The tannins are chewy and gripping, but this one is ready and should hold another five years with ease.-2006 California Cabernet blind retrospective (December 2015). Drink now through 2022. 2006 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 was made from 32% Bancroft Ranch, 24% Steinhauer Ranch, 19% St. Helena Home Vineyard, with smaller amounts from Rancho del Oso, Chabot Vineyard, Marston Ranch and Lampyridae. A big heat wave in July was the salient weather factor in this vintage. The harvest began early and continued for five weeks. Abundant smoke, chocolate, espresso roast, cassis and mocha characteristics are found in this full-bodied, powerful, layered Cabernet. Although not quite as seamless as the nearly perfect 2005 Private Reserve, it is a big, dense beauty from a somewha ...Read More »

2006 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is big, dark and juicy. There is an element of wildness that runs through the wine. Graphite, licorice, tar and smoke are just some of the nuances that add complexity. The 2006 boasts superb purity from start to finish. Elements of fleshiness give the impression the 2006 might drink well relatively early, until the massive tannins set in. Floral notes add freshness on the finish. This is another fabulous wine from Randy Dunn. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2036. (AG)" (12/2011)

2006 Larkmead Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Larkmead Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 4,400-case cuvee of 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (96% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Cabernet Franc) is brilliant. It would probably be hard to find a Cabernet Sauvignon of this quality with this production level, all estate fruit, and such impeccable viticulture and winemaking. This wine reminded me of a great vintage of Pontet Canet in Pauillac, Bordeaux. The deep creme de cassis flavors intermixed with charcoal and lead pencil shavings soar from the glass. Its full body, stunning ripeness, sweet tannin, and substantial flavor authority make for a brilliant Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next two decades. (RP)" (12/2008)

2006 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 93ST, 92CG, 90WE, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 7,000 cases of the prodigious 2006 Proprietary Red Wine (a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec). Most of the fruit comes from the Stagecoach Vineyard and the Waters Ranch. Sweet, smoky, meaty aromas interwoven with melted asphalt, camphor, blackberry, cassis, and charcoal scents emerge from the complex aromatics. In the mouth, the wine is full-bodied, displaying sweet tannin, a concentrated mouthfeel, and a long, heady finish with substantial fruit, glycerin, and extract. It should drink beautifully for 20+ years. (RP)" (12/2008)

This is subtle and complex, but needs another three years." (4/2011) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-red. Blackberry, cassis and boysenberry aromas complemented by licorice, violet, menthol and bitter chocolate. Juicy, intensely flavored and quite fresh but a bit youthfully disjointed, with a firm tannin/acid spine supporting the crushed dark berry and menthol flavors. 2006 Cain "Five" Spring Mountain District Bordeaux Blend

Jancis Robinson: "Dark purplish crimson. Appealing juicy fruit with a little overlay of walnuts on the nose. Some personality and a fruity core. Quite dusty and full blooded with slightly rustic tannins. Distinctive! I like the fact that the winemaker has not been afraid of tannin. Quite burly rather than super smooth. Out of the mould – so therefore mountain fruit..? I just wonder whether the fruit won’t fade a little bit too early for the tannins? Dry finish. But this is serious artisanal wine. 2006 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 95JS, 94CG, 92WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The first vintage for Jennifer Williams, 2006, was a low-crop year, with only 2,743 cases produced. The final blend harkens back to the first two vintages of Spottswoode, in being almost 100% Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5% Cabernet Franc with the rest Cabernet Sauvignon). This wine is flowery with terrific fruit intensity and classic Spottswoode elegance and purity. Deep ruby/purple color, youthfulness still to this day and plenty of breadth, depth and richness. An underrated vintage, sandwiched between 2005 and another great one, 2007, this is a sleeper year and a beautiful wine that should drink well at least for another 20-25 years. (RP)" (08/2016)

2006 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is quite a bit richer than the 2005 tasted alongside it. The 2006 shows gorgeous depth as it opens up in the glass. Dark fruit, licorice, smoke and tar are some of the notes that flesh out in this broad-shouldered Cabernet Sauvignon. A creamy, textured finish rounds things out in style. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2026. (AG)" (12/2011)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2006 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (95CG, 94RP, 94WE, 94WS, 92JS, 92VN). Connoisseurs Guide: " *Three Stars* Already amazingly seductive with wonderfully rich aromas of sweet oak, cocoa and fully expressed fruit making a first-rate introduction, this riveting young wine in no way lets up on the palate and delivers deep, multi-faceted flavors that combine ripeness, sweet oak and very precise fruit in near-perfect proportion. As is often the case with Insignia bottlings, it is so beautifully balanced that it invites early drinking, and, while we do not condemn giving in to its charms, we also would lobby strongly for patience as its best years lie down the line." 2006 Araujo "Altagracia" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the best second wines made in California is the selection for what Araujo calls Altagracia. The 2006 Altagracia is a soft, round, up-front, seductive wine with sweet black currant and cherry fruit interwoven with hints of licorice, roasted herbs, and earth. This gracious, generously endowed wine is pure, lush, and ideal for drinking over the next 10 or so years. (RP)" (12/2009) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good bright medium ruby. Lively aromas of cassis, licorice and tobacco. Lush and sweet but with good definition and lift to the flavors of black raspberry, coffee and mocha. ...Read More »

2006 Blankiet "Paradise Hills Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The real star is the nearly 1,000 case-lot of the Paradise Hills Vineyard Proprietary Red. The dense, opaque plum/purple-hued 2006 Paradise Hills Vineyard exhibits a beautiful, sweet bouquet of melted chocolate, burning embers, blackberries, mocha, espresso roast, cassis, and cherries as well as stunning concentration, and formidable, but velvety, beautifully integrated tannins. This wine comes across like a hypothetical blend of California, a great Graves, and something from further north in Bordeaux, such as a Pauillac. Full-bodied and powerful, it req ...Read More »

2006 Robert Foley Napa Valley Claret

92 points James Suckling: "Full throttle style with loads of blackberry jam and spices on the nose and palate. Fresh mushrooms develop with time. Full and fruity, with polished round tannins. Blackberries and dark chocolate on the finish." (2/2011) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-red. Aromas of cassis, plum and licorice. Sweet and densely packed, with dark berry and graphite flavors along with a slight dried-fruit character. I find this a bit low-pitched for a Foley wine despite its sound ripe acidity. Finishes with chewy, slightly dry tannins that call for at least a few years of aging. This is all Ca ...Read More »

2006 Revana Family Vineyard St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon Back In Stock!
2006 Revana Family Vineyard St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker Heidi Peterson-Barrett (Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle, Grace Family, Barbour, etc.) writes: "The 2006 Revana Cabernet is deep ruby in color with aromas of ripe blackberry, black cherry and cassis. Hints of sweet French oak lead you into the first sip confirming this is a special wine. The wine is full, yet soft in the mouth, dense and structured with mouth coating velvety tannins. Flavors on the palate match the aromas of ripe black fruits layered with toasty, elegant oak components."

2006 Gemstone "Ten" Yountville Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points James Suckling: "I like the generous fruit in this wine, the reserve and polish adds to the overall quality. Lots of chocolate, berry, and fresh herbs on the nose. Full bodied, with soft and round tannins, and a pretty, juicy, fruity finish. Bright and attractive. Give this two or three years of bottle age before trying." (2/2011) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The superb 2006 Gemstone Proprietary Red (an 890-case blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot) is from the cooler Oakville / Yountville sector of Napa. It exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as a beautiful bouquet of subtle ne ...Read More »

2006 Harris Estate "Lakeview Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Lakeview Vineyard possesses abundant tannin, plenty of structure, density, and power. These single vineyard, 100% Cabernet Sauvignons, from the north slope of Diamond Mountain, are all aged in Taransaud barrels. The estate vineyard is 28 acres, and the proprietors are Mike and Treva Harris. (RP)" (12/2008) 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full medium ruby. Full-blown aromas of ripe plum, mocha, smoke and tobacco leaf, lifted by a minty nuance. Sweeter, denser and fruitier than the Jake's Creek offering, with notes of plum, redcurrant and gravel. 2006 Lokoya Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Robert Parker: "Blue fruit, spring flower, charcoal, and crushed rock aromas emerge from the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain. This wine possesses terrific ripeness, beautiful, surprisingly sweet, well-integrated tannins, plenty of black and blue fruit flavors, full body, and good harmony and overall equilibrium. It can be drunk now or cellared for two decades or more. While this is one of the most stunning wineries in Jess Jackson's portfolio, production is very limited, making the wines difficult to find. 2006 Arkenstone "Obsidian" Howell Mountain Bordeaux Blend

97 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a devastatingly good Bordeaux blend from Howell Mountain. Based on Cabernet, it has all the flavor you could ask for in blackberries, cherries, cassis, chocolate, herbs, spices and sweetly smoked oak. But the structure is awesome. Near perfect tannins, soft and intricately firm, and grand acidity make for a total Cabernet experience. Tremendous now, and should age for years." 2006 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The flagship wine, the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon Old Sparky, is another remarkable effort, offering up smoky blackberry and cassis fruit intermixed with notions of bouquet garni, roasted meats, creosote, and cedar. Tasting like a first-growth Pauillac from a very ripe, extravagantly rich vintage, this wine looks set to enjoy 25-30 or more years of longevity, as do all of these compelling Cabernets.
