2014 K Vintners "Motor City Kitty-River Rock Vineyard" Yakima Valley Syrah Top Pick!
2014 K Vintners "Motor City Kitty-River Rock Vineyard" Yakima Valley Syrah

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Named after a cat owned by Charles when he was living in Walla Walla, the 2014 M C K Syrah sports a deep purple color as well as ripe, decadent notes of black fruits, plums, graphite, crushed rock and licorice. Big, sexy, seamless and pure, with present, yet ripe tannin, drink it through 2024. It’s worth noting that this comes completely from the River Rock vineyard in this vintage. As usual, it's a crazy value. 2014 Wines Of Substance Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Top Pick!
2014 Wines Of Substance Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The straight 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is outstanding. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, native fermented, aged in French oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered, it’s a killer value that has lots of blue fruits, violets, graphite and leafy herbs in medium to full-bodied, concentrated, layered style. Savvy readers should buy a case of this and drink bottles over the coming 4-5 years, although I see no reason that it won’t keep longer either. A substantial change with the K Vintners/Charles Smith wines is the separation of the Rhone blends and the Bordeaux ...Read More »

Coming from the River Rock Vineyard in Walla Walla and the Upland Vineyard in Snipes Mountain, not destemmed and brought up all in larger barrels, this beauty offers a sensational perfume of smoked meats, pepper, licorice, black olives and assorted ripe black fruits. 2014 Cadence "Coda" Red Mountain Bordeaux Blend

91 points Vinous: "(14.4% alcohol; just 700 cases produced, vs. a normal 1,300; half of this wine is from Cara Mia fruit): Red-ruby. Sexy, vibrant aromas of dark cherry, mocha, mint, espresso and licorice pastille, lifted by a lavender high note. Juicy, spicy and penetrating, with dark berry and mint flavors dominating. Terrific intensity for this entry-level wine, with a firm tannic spine and juicy, rising length calling for a year or two of patience. 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Reviewed last year under the K Vintners label, the 2013 Super Substance Merlot Northridge is a serious effort that’s reminiscent of a top flight Pomerol. It sports a deep ruby/purple color as well as ample black currants, plums, wet clay and earth in a rich, full-bodied, concentrated, layered package that’s already hard to resist. Nevertheless, I suspect it will be even better with 2-3 years of bottle age and drink well over the following 10-15 years. One of the more bloody, meaty, iron-laced and savory Syrahs in the lineup, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a thick, unctuous texture, ripe tannin and a finish that makes your heart beat a touch faster. 2012 Andrew Rich "Prometheus" Columbia Valley Syrah

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, deep red-ruby. Pure, deep aromas of blackberry, violet, bitter chocolate, smoke and rock. Then concentrated but reticent on the palate, showing serious density and subtle sweetness to the fine-grained flavors of dark berries, spices and bitter chocolate. Most expressive today on the long, ripe, tongue-dustingly tannic finish, where flavors of dark raspberry, blackberry, licorice and spices mount slowly and linger long.
