2009 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Pommard 1er Cru "Jarollières" (Pre-Arrival)

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pommard Les Jarolieres saturates the palate with its round, ripe fruit. This shows lovely depth and richness, then turns quite a bit more powerful and tannic on the finish. Sweet menthol and crushed rocks wrap around the close. Les Jarolieres is on the border with Volnay. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2039. (AG)" (5/2011) 93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: ""Sweet spot Outstanding" A completely different fruit profile is present here as the red currant, earth and wet stone aromas are followed by rich, full and naturally sweet mineral-driven flavors possess excellent mid-palate density ...Read More »

2009 Louis Jadot Volnay "Clos de la Barre" Rouge (Pre-Arrival)

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* The walled Clos de la Barre is a Jadot monopoly. This 2009 has great depth of flavor, hinting at the Volnay richness while remaining structured. That makes it a concentrated wine, red and black fruits mingling with wood and intense acidity. For long-term aging over six years and more. (RV)" (6/2012) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay Clos de la Barre is impressive. It shows fabulous energy in its dark cherries, flowers and spices. There is plenty of vibrancy to match the ripe, seductive 2009 expression of the fruit. This is a gorgeous, harmonious wine with ...Read More »

2009 Louis Jadot Chambolle-Musigny (Pre-Arrival)

90 points Wine & Spirits: "A fine combination of vintage and village, this packs the silken textures of Chambolle into a warm, open red for a cool autumn night. It’s as soft as a rose petal, with sweetness to its dark cherry fruit that reads as rose petal jam. Tight, spicy and gentle, this is ready to drink now and structured to age for several years." (10/2012) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Currant and pomegranate aromas and flavors are joined by a hint of iron in this red. Spice and rose hip tea enter the fray, as this resonates on the long finish. Balanced and tightly wound. (BS)" (6/2012)

2009 La Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des 60 Ouvrées"

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Sweet spot Outstanding* The ripest nose to this point exhibits liqueur-like notes of plum, blue berry and violets that complement well the equally ripe, opulent and mineral-inflected flavors that are also quite full-bodied, all wrapped in a detailed, vibrant and hugely long finish. The underlying material here is superb and this should easily improve for the next 12 to 15 years and last for an equivalent period thereafter." (5/2011) 93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full, bright red. Reticent but pure aromas of redcurrant, truffle and licorice; subdued but not at all roasted. Silky o ...Read More »

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Joseph Voillot Volnay 1er Cru "Champans" ((91-93BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Sweet Spot Outstanding* A somber, serious and reserved nose features a dense array of dark berry fruit aromas that are nuanced by notes of iron-infused earth and wet stone. The rich, intense and relatively powerful flavors possess ample verve and excellent persistence on the decidedly firm finale. A classic Champans." (05/2011)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche Grand Cru (98BH, 97RP, 97WS, 96ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This ripe effort really has not changed much since I last reviewed it from bottle in 2012 save for the fact that it is perhaps a bit less imposing than many vintages of La Tâche at the same very early stage. But overall I simply repeat my original review as it is still accurate: A discreet but incredibly complex nose features notes of spicy, pure and relatively high-toned fruit that is laced with plenty of rose petal and violet hints. There is excellent energy and freshness to the lacy and stunningly precise broad-scaled flavors that build in intensity from the densely concentrated mid-palate to the explosive and mouth coating finish that seemingly goes on without end. This is a big LT with ample muscle and very firm but not aggressive structure along with superb depth of underlying material and positively mind-blowing length. But the real genius of this w

2009 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Fremiets"

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Sweet Spot Outstanding! Here the nose is appreciably fresher and also displays notes of red currant though the minerality now extends to the aromas and in hallmark Frémiets style, also suffuses the rich, supple and refined middle weight flavors blessed with ample amounts of dry extract that buffer the moderately firm tannins on the impressively long finish. The minerality is so strong that there is a Chablis-like saline character. A classy effort of finesse." Outstanding!" from Allen Maadows who scores it 92-95: "A spicy, cool, elegant and very fresh nose features notes of hoisin, soy, anise and sandalwood while seamlessly integrating with rich, full-bodied and tautly muscular flavors that possess a silky mouth feel and supple mid-palate yet the robust tannins are extremely firm as is the explosive finish. Despite the muscular aspect, this is essentially an elegant wine that is more in the vein of a gymnast than a weight lifter." (Burghound, 05/2011)

2009 Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

96 points Wine Spectator: "Displays enticing aromas of flowers, cherry, strawberry and spice, with a hint of leather and licorice in reserve and a long, long finish. A wall of tannins shuts this down—at least for now. The aromas are worth the price of admission. (BS)" (6/2012) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Clos Vougeot is remarkably polished and fine in this vintage. It may ultimately prove to be better than the 2010 given that the heat of the year has tamed the tannins to such a significant degree. Layers of red fruit built to the explosive finish in this huge, powerful Clos Vougeot. The 2009 is rich, ...Read More »

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Jayer-Gilles Echézeaux Grand Cru ((92-95BH), (92-95ST), 94RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red with ruby tones. Highly perfumed, expressive aromas of black raspberry, black cherry, graphite and licorice. Dense and lush but youthfully tight, with terrific floral lift to the complex dark fruit and mineral flavors. Wonderfully silky in texture but at the same time quite taut and vibrant for 2009. Finishes extremely long, with sweet tannins buffered by the wine's powerful mid-palate material. An outstanding sample. Intense, yet light-weight, with fine complexity and a long, fruit- and spice-filled aftertaste. Best from 2015 through 2035. (BS)" (6/2012) 94 points Vinous: "The 2009 Clos des Lambrays is ripe, radiant and totally representative of the vintage. 2009 Louis Jadot Clos de la Roche Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

92-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Clos de la Roche comes across as big, powerful and a touch heavy-handed. This shows tons of richness and depth but lacks the sheer excitement of the estate's finest wines. The Clos de la Roche is made from purchased wine. (AG)" (5/2011) 91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A beautifully complex and overtly sauvage nose speaks of plum, red currant and red berry liqueur nuances that introduce delicious, round and quite supple middle weight flavors that possess reasonably good concentration, all wrapped in a dusty and moderately austere finish that delivers excellent length." Lovely tangy perfume of cherry, raspberry, red licorice, fresh herbs, rose petal and spicy oak. Dense, sweet and fine, with an obvious new oak element nicely carried by the wine's concentration of fruits and flowers. Offers an uncanny combination of seamless texture and power. The Charmes is already rather forward, and at this stage appears to be a relatively early-maturing wine. The oak is also a bit pronounced. Sweet, textured floral notes wrap around the long, polished finish. Rousseau’s Charmes is technically 60% Mazoyeres. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2029.
