2009 Domaine Comtesse Bernard de Cherisey Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru "La Genelotte"

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Meursault 1er Cru Blagny La Genelotte is more timorous on the nose compared to the 2010, but no less complex, with tightly wound scents of dried yellow flowers and red apples. The palate sits somewhere in between Meursault and Puligny in style, a hint of hazelnut here, stoniness becoming more pronounced toward the finish, which demonstrates very fine length. 2009 Louis Jadot 1er Cru Chambolle Musigny "Les Baudes"

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Like the Fuées, this is highly perfumed and very Chambolle with its restrained, complex and ultra-pure nose of red pinot fruit but here there is a more evident taut muscularity to the delineated, intense and equally pure medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent energy as well as a mineral-streak that runs to the serious, dusty and driving finish. I quite like this and the balance and concentration should permit it to age well for at least a decade and last several more. Impressive. *Outstanding*" (5/2011) 92 points John Gilman: "The 2009 Chambolle “Baudes” is just a tad riper ...Read More »

2009 Bouchard Pere et Fils Volnay 1er Cru "Les Caillerets - Ancienne Cuvée Carnot"

89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Proust noted that hail damage ruined about 15% of the crop but that Bouchard took no chances and declassified about 50% of the total. Relatively strong reduction dominates the nose though there is ample body and richness to the suave yet precise flavors that exude a fine minerality on the very ripe finish that offers excellent volume if less complexity than usual. This is also extremely ripe and some, including me, will likely find it to be a bit too much so. Drink 2021+." (6/2011) 91 points Vinous: "Good deep red. Subdued but pure aromas of black cherry, minerals and sweet ...Read More »

2009 Domaine Faiveley Echézeaux Grand Cru

92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Noticeable if deft wood notes frame the very spicy dark berry fruit and warm earth suffused nose. There is beautiful concentration to the velvet-textured and mouth coating medium-bodied flavors that are shaped by relatively fine but notably firm tannins, all wrapped in a moderately austere and strikingly long finish. This will also need plenty of cellar time to reach its full apogee. (AM)" (1/2012) 93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good bright, deep red. Penetrating aromas of red cherry and rose petal. Superb cut and purity to the juicy flavors of red berries, cherry and minerals. Conveys ...Read More »

2009 Louis Jadot Grand Cru Charmes Chambertin

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A ripe, lightly spiced and pure mélange of mostly red berry liqueur and earth notes precedes medium-weight flavors that are surprisingly supple and already quite accessible with a delicious, mouth coating and nicely balanced finish. I like the velvety texture and while it's clear that this is not a Jadot-vinified wine and can't favorably compete with the best here, it is not without a certain appeal." (4/2012) 90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Charmes-Chambertin shows excellent suppleness in its round fruit. This is a generous, open style with good balance, even if the wine lacks ...Read More »

2009 Domaine Rossignol-Trapet Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A reserved and also quite floral medium-pitched nose speaks of wet stone and anise on the restrained and pure red pinot fruit aromas that complement well the mineral-driven flavors that offer a seductively textured and energetic finish that possesses picture-perfect balance and excellent length. This is not a big wine and though it's not strict, neither is it especially generous at present. However, a fine Latricières often puts on weight and flesh as it ages and I suspect that is what this will do too." (1/2012) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Latricieres-Chambertin reveals gor ...Read More »

2009 Domaine Lucien Boillot Volnay 1er Cru "Caillerets"

Allen Meadows writes: "Pierre Boillot has taken his respective half (7 ha) of Domaine Lucien Boillot and will keep his father's name while his brother Louis has created a new domaine by the name of Louis Boillot et Fils. Pierre told me that he will not change a great deal though he did note that he wants to create more supple and forward wines that have less extraction and that will mature over a 3 to 4 year horizon. Other than that, he stressed that it will be traditional vinification and élevage."

2009 Domaine Meo-Camuzet Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Aux Murgers"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Meo-Camuzet Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Aux Murgers" ((90-93BH), (91-93ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red with ruby highlights. Very dark aromas of black cherry, blackberry, bitter chocolate and earth. Broad but a bit youthfully tough, offering less easy sweetness today than the Boudots. Finishes with substantial building dusty tannins and noteworthy power. This may well need six or seven years of bottle aging, while the more Vosne-like Boudots will probably be delicious in four or five years." (01/2011)

2009 Domaine Maume Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru

Bertrand Maume is known for making incredible red Burgundies that age beautifully. Praise from importer Kermit Lynch: "Domaine Maume’s wines are deep, profound Pinot Noir experiences. They are wines of mystery – constantly changing and evolving, both in barrel and in bottle, like the Burgundies of the past."

2009 Lucie & Auguste Lignier Clos de la Roche Grand Cru (1.5L)

John Gilman: "The 2009 Clos de la Roche from Kellen Lignier is a brilliant wine in the making, but again, I really wonder how well it is ultimately going to be able to absorb all of its new wood. The bouquet is deep, complex an utterly classic, offering up a superb blend of red and black cherries, bacon fat, coffee, complex soil tones, fresh herbs and a very generous lathering of expensive, classy new oak. The oak here smells every bit as luxuriant as the new wood used by Louis-Michel Liger-Belair in his Vosne-Romanée bottlings. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bo ...Read More »

2009 Chandon de Briailles Corton Grand Cru "Les Bressandes"

92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Sweet Spot* This is also very ripe but here the cassis, violet and black berry aromas are noticeably fresher. The rich, intense and broad-shouldered flavors display a distinct mineral character and better elegance to the dense but fine tannins that shape the hugely long finish. This has the potential to be outstanding but it will require the better part of two decades to arrive at its peak." (5/2011) 93 points Vinous: "Good dark red. Dark, brooding aromas of cherry pit, botanical herbs, smoke and earth. Deep, energetic and penetrating, offering a beautiful combination of vo ...Read More »

2009 Bouchard Pere & Fils Pommard 1er Cru "Les Pezerolles"

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Sweet Spot, Outstanding* A notably ripe yet elegant and admirably pure nose features both hints of stone and earth that can also be found on the detailed, precise and energetic middle weight flavors that possess relatively fine tannins and excellent length. There is good buffering sap and I very much like the balance of this classy effort." (5/2011) Jancis Robinson: "Perfumed - sweet oak and dark fruit and white pepper. Expressive. Both juicy and savoury, though the oak is quite dominant at the moment. Quite tight and firm compared with many in this vintage but not at all ...Read More »

2009 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Corton Grand Cru "Les Bressandes"

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Sweet Spot* A very ripe liqueur of red pinot fruit, plum and violet-infused nose leads to rich, elegant and very pure big-bodied and well-muscled flavors that possess impressively detailed and ample minerality on the firm but not hard, long and impeccably well-balanced finish. This explodes on the finish and like the Jarolières, it possesses plenty of underlying tension that imparts a highly attractive sense of vibrancy and life." (5/2011) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Corton-Les Bressandes is an implosive wine. It possesses massive structure and powerful tannins, but the bes ...Read More »
