2009 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Pommard 1er Cru "Jarollières" (Pre-Arrival)

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pommard Les Jarolieres saturates the palate with its round, ripe fruit. This shows lovely depth and richness, then turns quite a bit more powerful and tannic on the finish. Sweet menthol and crushed rocks wrap around the close. Les Jarolieres is on the border with Volnay. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2039. (AG)" (5/2011) 93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: ""Sweet spot Outstanding" A completely different fruit profile is present here as the red currant, earth and wet stone aromas are followed by rich, full and naturally sweet mineral-driven flavors possess excellent mid-palate density ...Read More »

2009 Louis Jadot Volnay "Clos de la Barre" Rouge (Pre-Arrival)

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* The walled Clos de la Barre is a Jadot monopoly. This 2009 has great depth of flavor, hinting at the Volnay richness while remaining structured. That makes it a concentrated wine, red and black fruits mingling with wood and intense acidity. For long-term aging over six years and more. (RV)" (6/2012) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay Clos de la Barre is impressive. It shows fabulous energy in its dark cherries, flowers and spices. There is plenty of vibrancy to match the ripe, seductive 2009 expression of the fruit. This is a gorgeous, harmonious wine with ...Read More »

2009 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Taillepieds"

92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Sweet Spot & Outstanding* A ripe yet cool nose features notes of cherry liqueur, raspberry, stone and soil-tones, all of which can be found on the rich, generous and beautifully well-detailed middle weight flavors that exude an equally fine minerality on the driving, punch and strikingly long finish where the hallmark touch of austerity in a young Taillepieds is in evidence. A lovely effort of class and grace that is less forbidding than usual. (Drink starting 2021)" (5/2011) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay Taillepieds is a model of grace. Subtle hints of pipe tobacco, h ...Read More »

2009 Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Cazetiers"

89-92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Palish medium red. Mute nose hints at cherry, mint and fresh herbs. Then silky and soft on the palate, with lovely inner-mouth perfume to the cherry, earth and saline flavors. A bigger wine than the nose suggests but not at all heavy. Finishes silky and long, with rather suave tannins. A very good showing. (ST)" (1/2011) 89-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A moderately deeply-pitched nose offers up notes of earth, underbrush and hints of iron-infused earth to the ripe red berry liqueur nose. There is good detail and plenty of verve to the intense and quite firm mineral-inflected flavors that ...Read More »

2009 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Pucelles"

95 points Wine & Spirits: "This vineyard, adjacent and parallel to Bâtard and Bienvenues-Bâtard, produced the most energized and complex of Domaine Leflaive’s 1er Cru wines in 2009. Of the 7.56 acres the domaine farms in Les Pucelles, 3.88 date to the 1950s and early 1960s, the youngest planted in 1985. On one level, this is a range of delicate florals, from lily of the valley to the scent of meadow flowers in spring. On a deeper level, this is powerfully structured, an obelisk of pure white limestone, supercharged in its power. Yet rather than blasting at you, it keeps tugging ge ...Read More »

2009 Louis Jadot Chambolle-Musigny (Pre-Arrival)

90 points Wine & Spirits: "A fine combination of vintage and village, this packs the silken textures of Chambolle into a warm, open red for a cool autumn night. It’s as soft as a rose petal, with sweetness to its dark cherry fruit that reads as rose petal jam. Tight, spicy and gentle, this is ready to drink now and structured to age for several years." (10/2012) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Currant and pomegranate aromas and flavors are joined by a hint of iron in this red. Spice and rose hip tea enter the fray, as this resonates on the long finish. Balanced and tightly wound. (BS)" (6/2012)

2009 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Fremiets"

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Sweet Spot Outstanding! Here the nose is appreciably fresher and also displays notes of red currant though the minerality now extends to the aromas and in hallmark Frémiets style, also suffuses the rich, supple and refined middle weight flavors blessed with ample amounts of dry extract that buffer the moderately firm tannins on the impressively long finish. The minerality is so strong that there is a Chablis-like saline character. A classy effort of finesse." (5/2011) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay Fremiet caresses the palate with dark wild cherries, spices and flowers. ...Read More »

2009 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2009 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg Grand Cru (97BH, 95ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The bottle that I tried displayed a hint of reduction though not enough to hide the intensely floral and notably ripe nose that features fresh notes of plum, mocha and cassis that are sprinkled with exotic spice notes. The expansive and tautly muscular broad-shouldered flavors are, unusually, almost as fine as those of the RSV yet even slightly more complex with the same finely grained tannins. The length is similar but at present, the extra dimension of depth gives this the barest of edges. Either way, this chewy, robust and overly muscular effort is genuinely sensational and clearly built for the very long haul." (01/2011)

2009 La Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des 60 Ouvrées"

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Sweet spot Outstanding* The ripest nose to this point exhibits liqueur-like notes of plum, blue berry and violets that complement well the equally ripe, opulent and mineral-inflected flavors that are also quite full-bodied, all wrapped in a detailed, vibrant and hugely long finish. The underlying material here is superb and this should easily improve for the next 12 to 15 years and last for an equivalent period thereafter." (5/2011) 93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full, bright red. Reticent but pure aromas of redcurrant, truffle and licorice; subdued but not at all roasted. 2009 Domaine de Montille Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Malconsorts"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine de Montille Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Malconsorts" ((93-96ST), (92-95BH), (92-95RP)). "Don't Miss! Outstanding!" from Allen Maadows who scores it 92-95: "A spicy, cool, elegant and very fresh nose features notes of hoisin, soy, anise and sandalwood while seamlessly integrating with rich, full-bodied and tautly muscular flavors that possess a silky mouth feel and supple mid-palate yet the robust tannins are extremely firm as is the explosive finish. Despite the muscular aspect, this is essentially an elegant wine that is more in the vein of a gymnast than a weight lifter." (Burghound, 05/2011)

2009 Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

96 points Wine Spectator: "Displays enticing aromas of flowers, cherry, strawberry and spice, with a hint of leather and licorice in reserve and a long, long finish. A wall of tannins shuts this down—at least for now. The aromas are worth the price of admission. (BS)" (6/2012) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Clos Vougeot is remarkably polished and fine in this vintage. It may ultimately prove to be better than the 2010 given that the heat of the year has tamed the tannins to such a significant degree. Layers of red fruit built to the explosive finish in this huge, powerful Clos Vougeot. The 2009 is rich, ...Read More »

2009 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Bourgogne Blanc
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Bourgogne Blanc (92VN, 90RP). Vinous: "The rarely seen 2009 Bourgogne Blanc is made from young Chardonnay vines planted in Musigny. The 2009 impresses for its textural elegance. Lemon, pastry, white flowers, crème brulée and hints of tropical fruit wrap around the finish. A subtle note of minerality acts to balance some of the wine's more overt tendencies. This is a lovely effort. (AG)" (04/2012)

2009 Domaine des Lambrays Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

95 points Wine Spectator: "Beautiful aromas and flavors of sandalwood, rose, strawberry and raspberry are married to an elegant, lacy frame. Intense, yet light-weight, with fine complexity and a long, fruit- and spice-filled aftertaste. Best from 2015 through 2035. (BS)" (6/2012) 94 points Vinous: "The 2009 Clos des Lambrays is ripe, radiant and totally representative of the vintage. Silky tannins frame an expressive core of fruit in this generous, open Clos des Lambrays. The 2009 possesses striking depth and tons of richness allied to a muscular personality. 2009 Louis Jadot Clos de la Roche Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

92-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Clos de la Roche comes across as big, powerful and a touch heavy-handed. This shows tons of richness and depth but lacks the sheer excitement of the estate's finest wines. The Clos de la Roche is made from purchased wine. (AG)" (5/2011) 91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A beautifully complex and overtly sauvage nose speaks of plum, red currant and red berry liqueur nuances that introduce delicious, round and quite supple middle weight flavors that possess reasonably good concentration, all wrapped in a dusty and moderately austere finish that delivers excellent length." (BS)" (6/2012) 93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A pretty and cool but distinctly ripe mix of upper and lower register aromas includes notes of red currant, wild red berries, earth and stone hints. The attractively energetic and focused medium weight plus flavors possess very fine mid-palate concentration with a silky yet firm mouth feel. 2009 Domaine Humbert Frères Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Estournelles St. Jacques" (Pre-Arrival)

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A discreet application of wood spice frames a ripe, densely fruited and very fresh nose of red Pinot liqueur with that wonderful wet stone component that adds lift to the nose and the delicious, mouth coating and tension-filled flavors. This terminates in a detailed, focused, firm and linear finish of impeccable balance. Like the Poissenots, there is a striking sense of harmony here that is most appealing. In a word, terrific." 2009 Domaine Coche-Dury Meursault "Rougeots"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Coche-Dury Meursault "Rougeots" (94RP, 94ST, 92BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Raphael served this 2009 Meursault les Rougeot blind following my tasting through his 2012s. It has a gorgeous waxy, honeysuckle bouquet with apricot blossom and fig jam aromas. It is exotic compared to the Coche-Dury style, but you won't complain. The palate is very intense with great concentration, superb acidity and layers of walnut-tinged citrus fruit that fan out wonderfully on the finish. It is a fabulous wine, one of the finest Meursault Rougeot that I have tasted from the domaine. (NM)" (06/2015)

2009 Domaine Armand Rousseau Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Charmes-Chambertin emerges from the glass with lovely radiance and openness in its ripe, juicy fruit. The Charmes is already rather forward, and at this stage appears to be a relatively early-maturing wine. The oak is also a bit pronounced. Sweet, textured floral notes wrap around the long, polished finish. Rousseau’s Charmes is technically 60% Mazoyeres. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2029. Less fruity than the basic village wine but dense, sweet and nicely fresh, with a deep middle and plenty of medicinal reserve. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins and persistent notes of chocolate, coffee and underbrush. (ST)" (3/2012) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes offers up freshly cut flowers, dark red berries, mint and licorice. 2009 Domaine Ponsot Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru (1.5L)

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is notably fresher than the Chapelle with a strikingly elegant and highly complex nose that displays perfumed and notably ripe red currant and cassis aromas that are liberally laced with warm earth and spice hints. There is good intensity and detail to the opulently textured medium weight plus flavors that are blessed with a seemingly endless reserve of sap on the gorgeously long finish.
