2009 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru "Clos de la Bousse" (Pre-Arrival)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay Clos de la Bousse d'Or presents a wild, almost unrestrained expression of Volnay. It is a sumptuous wine graced with stunning beauty in its opulent fruit. This shows marvelous detail and clarity with palate staining intensity. Despite its richness, there is plenty of vibrancy and freshness. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2049. This is a stunning set of wines from Patrick Landager. The vintage yielded a set of super-sized, big wines that may shock some readers for their sheer intensity. These are among some of the most backward 2009s I taste ...Read More »

2009 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Clos de la Roche Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Clos de la Roche saturates the palate with tons of fruit. Despite its richness, the Clos de la Roche remains brilliant through and through, with dazzling elegance and an intense, powerful finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2044. This is a stunning set of wines from Patrick Landager. The vintage yielded a set of super-sized, big wines that may shock some readers for their sheer intensity. 2009 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Corton-Bressandes (Pre-Arrival)

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Sweet Spot* A very ripe liqueur of red pinot fruit, plum and violet-infused nose leads to rich, elegant and very pure big-bodied and well-muscled flavors that possess impressively detailed and ample minerality on the firm but not hard, long and impeccably well-balanced finish. This explodes on the finish and like the Jarolières, it possesses plenty of underlying tension that imparts a highly attractive sense of vibrancy and life." (5/2011)94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Corton-Les Bressandes is an implosive wine. It possesses massive structure and powerful tannins, but the bes ...Read More »

2009 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des 60 Ouvrées" (Pre-Arrival)

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Sweet Spot Outstanding* The ripest nose to this point exhibits liqueur-like notes of plum, blue berry and violets that complement well the equally ripe, opulent and mineral-inflected flavors that are also quite full-bodied, all wrapped in a detailed, vibrant and hugely long finish. The underlying material here is superb and this should easily improve for the next 12 to 15 years and last for an equivalent period thereafter." (5/2011)93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full, bright red. Reticent but pure aromas of redcurrant, truffle and licorice; subdued but not at all roasted. 2009 Domaine de Montille Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Malconsorts-Cuvée Christiane" Back In Stock!
2009 Domaine de Montille Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Malconsorts-Cuvée Christiane"

Our notes: "This cuvee comes from the southern corner of the original La Tâche. After walking the vineyard, it really does belong to La Tâche much more than Malconsorts. It is denser than the regular cuvee, with five-spice notes very reminiscent of the DRC La Tâche. WOW! KeithW. "Outstanding!" and 93-95 from Allen Meadows: "Mild wood sets off a similar if perhaps not quite as fresh a nose though the sophisticated flavors are denser and more concentrated with more obvious dry extract that confers a velvety and seductive texture onto the serious, long ... 2009 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru "Les Mitans" (Pre-Arrival)

93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay Les Mitans is impressive. A highly expressive, beautifully articulated bouquet leads to a core of dark red fruit, mint and crushed flowers. This is an explosive, textured Mitans graced with incredible class and a crystalline purity that is hard to fully describe. The finish is simply eternal. (AG)" (5/2011)93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As is usually the case, this is an exercise in finesse and understatement with a high-toned, cool and pure mineral-infused red pinot fruit nose that slides seamlessly into detailed, harmonious and mouth coating flavors that are very Voln ...Read More »

2009 Domaine des Chezeaux (Ponsot) Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine des Chezeaux (Ponsot) Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru (94BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is notably fresher than the Chapelle with a strikingly elegant and highly complex nose that displays perfumed and notably ripe red currant and cassis aromas that are liberally laced with warm earth and spice hints. There is good intensity and detail to the opulently textured medium weight plus flavors that are blessed with a seemingly endless reserve of sap on the gorgeously long finish. This is a really impressive effort and if the palate complexity can eventually match that of the nose, this should be able to achieve, or perhaps even exceed, the upper end of my predicted range. 2009 Maison Champy Chambolle-Musigny

88-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A pretty if not actually elegant nose offers up notes of soft wood, earth and ripe red currant aromas that merge gracefully into rich, delicious and quite round middle weight flavors that juxtapose a suave mouth feel against a mildly austere and solidly persistent finish. This is quite good if not exactly an archetype of a classic Chambolle." (5/2011)

2009 Domaine de Montille Volnay 1er Cru "Les Taillepieds"

92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Sweet Spot. Outstanding* A restrained yet perfumed nose is the essence of wet stone and ripe Pinot, all trimmed in dried floral notes. Like the Mitans, this is also positively crystalline as the flavors seem to be composed from liquid rock and deliver positively huge length along with the hallmark finishing austerity of a young Taillepieds. A highly impressive effort of impeccable balance." (5/2011) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay Taillepieds is all about minerality and sheer energy. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Dujac Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Aux Malconsorts" ((92-95BH), (92-94RP), 92ST). 92-95 and "Sweet Spot Outstanding" from Allen Meadows: "A highly spiced nose speaks of anise, clove and violet nuances on the pretty mix of blue and black pinot fruit and plum aromas. The rich, full-bodied, concentrated and powerful medium weight plus flavors possess a seductive and velvety mouth feel, all wrapped in a very firm and explosively long finish. This should be wonderful in due time though note well that this will require every bit of 15 years of cellar time." (Burghound 01/11) 92-94 in Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Vosne-Romanee Aux Malconsorts blossoms on the palate with inimitable grace in its bright red fruit. Floral notes appear later, adding lift and volume. The Malconsorts possesses dazzling inner perfume, with clean, saline notes framing the exquisite finish. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A notably floral, spicy and very cool nose is trimmed in noticeable but reasonable wood and leads to very rich, round and velvety big-bodied and powerful flavors that culminate in a moderately oaked but strikingly long finish. Again, the oak is not subtle on the palate but there appears to be more than enough concentration to handle it." (01/2011)

2009 Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru ((93-95BH), 91ST). 93-95 Burghound: "This is also intensely floral with subtle spice notes on the relatively cool but ripe nose of primarily red berry fruit and wet stone aromas. There is excellent detail to the tautly muscular and firm yet reasonably refined broad-shouldered flavors that possess superb length. The amount of mid-palate sap is genuinely remarkable and this will permit early accessibility yet it will be capable of aging effortlessly. An impressive effort." (01/11) 91 Tanzer: "Bright, deep red. Pure but reticent aromas of raspberry, mocha, graphite and musky spices. Bigger and broader than the Clos-Saint-Denis; very ripe, chocolatey and rich but not quite as vibrant as the best vintages of this wine. Builds nicely on the finish, which features broad, fine-grained, nicely buffered tannins and a distinct medicinal reserve."

Chocolate, herbs, licorice and nutty oak on the nose; seems a bit advanced. Then lush and quite sweet but loose-knit, showing an almost candied character to its medicinal dark fruit flavors. Here we find the femininity of Chambolle, but with an extra dimension of power and muscle to match. Crushed flowers and sweet spices add the final nuances on the subtle finish. Indeed, there is so much sap that this will be approachable in its youth but should age into a spectacular wine." The minerality is so strong that there is a Chablis-like saline character. A classy effort of finesse." (5/2011)92 points Antonio Galloni: "The 2009 Volnay Fremiet is beautifully pointed.
