2007 Tardieu-Laurent Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes

96 points Wine Spectator: "This is crammed with a massive core of blueberry compote, braised fig and mulled blackberry and boysenberry fruit flavors, all wound up with graphite tannins and backed by a strong, iron-filled spine. This has serious depth and drive, with gorgeous mocha and espresso aromatics flittering throughout. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Best from 2010 through 2024. (JM)" (1/2009) 92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is fashioned from old vine Grenache (90%) and the rest Syrah and Mourvedre, the last two components aged in new oak. The fruit comes from par ...Read More »

2007 Coudoulet de Beaucastel Côtes du Rhône Blanc

90-92 Robert Parker: "Readers should not overlook the 2007 Cotes du Rhone Coudoulet blanc. Always one of the appellation’s finest white wines, the outstanding 2007 is a blend of equal parts Viognier, Marsanne, and Bourboulenc with a dollop of Clairette. It displays aromas and flavors of tropical fruits, lychee nuts, white peaches, and flowers offered in a deep, medium to full-bodied style with great fruit as well as terrific acidity." 2007 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Revealing a touch of darker gold in its color, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc is another blockbuster that continues to shine every time I've opened a bottle. Ripe, decadent and supple, it has boatloads of honeycomb, caramelized citrus, brioche and ripe tropical fruits to go with a gorgeously textured feel on the palate. (JD)" (9/2015) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Very ripe, but pure and well-defined, with lush mango, dried pineapple, Jonagold apple and Cavaillon melon notes, all laced with heather honey and brioche hints. The long, creamy finish lets a stony note ripple through. ( ...Read More »

2007 Clos du Mont Olivet "La Cuvée du Papet" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape La Cuvee du Papet may will turn out to be their finest example since the 1998 and 1990. Stylistically, it probably comes closest to resembling the legendary 1990. Notes of roasted meats and smoked duck, with Provencal herbs, truffle, incense, licorice, and pepper, are all there, plus enormous quantities of red and black fruits. This is one heck of a complex wine, with a bouquet that is the essence of southern France, in particular Provence. Full-bodied, powerful, with the glycerin and level of richness covering some lofty tan ...Read More »

2007 Château Rayas Châteauneuf-du-Pape Reserve (Pre-Arrival)

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I think the Rayas 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape will turn out to eclipse the 2005. It is unequivocally the finest wine made here since Emmanuel Reynaud’s uncle, the late Jacques Reynaud, produced his brilliant 1995. This wine was just released this year, with the 2008 coming on the market in the next few months. The 2007 is a relatively dark ruby/purple-tinged wine, more intensely colored than most Rayas Chateauneufs tend to be, since they are made from 100% Grenache and color has never been one of their hallmarks. The extraordinarily youthful and still burge ...Read More »

2007 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Vieux Telegraphe may be the greatest wine made at this property since the 2005 and 1998. Dense ruby/purple-tinged with an exquisite nose of salty sea breezes, licorice, ground pepper, jammy black cherries, black currants, figs, and plums, this is a full-bodied, rich, Provencal-styled offering with lots of sweet, ripe tannin. It is surprisingly accessible for a Vieux Telegraphe (this wine normally shuts down several years after bottling), but it should have great longevity (25+ years) given its power, full-bodied mouthfeel, and enormous length an ...Read More »

2007 Domaine Senechaux Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Senechaux Châteauneuf-du-Pape (94RP, 92WS, 90VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The fabulous 2007 Châteauneuf-du-Pape (a blend of 64% Grenache, 19% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre, and the rest Cinsault and Vaccarese) boasts a deep plum/ruby/purple color as well as a super expressive perfume that represents the essence of Provence. Fresh bouquet garni, roasted Provencal herbs, licorice, black cherries, and black currant aromas soar from the glass of this full-bodied, incredibly deep, savory wine. Juicy and succulent with terrific acidity, freshness, and length, it is accessible now, and should continue to drink well for 12-15 or more years. Bravo to the Cazes family! This 60+ acre estate was acquired by the Cazes family (proprietors of Château Lynch-Bages in Pauillac) in late 2006. The new owners' first complete vintage was 2007, and it is no coincidence it is the finest wine I have ever tasted from Domaine des Senechaux. (RP)" (10/2009)

2007 Chante Cigale Châteauneuf-du-Pape "Vieilles Vignes"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Chante Cigale Châteauneuf-du-Pape "Vieilles Vignes" (95RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The compelling 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes (78% Grenache and the rest Syrah and Mourvedre) is made from 60- to 120-year-old vines. Its dense plum/purple hue is followed by knock-out aromas of incense, crushed pepper, cedar, black currant jam, licorice, and sweet cherries. Voluptuously textured, opulent, and round with well-formed, moderately high tannins that are nearly covered by the wine’s fruit and glycerin, it will easily last 15-20 years in a cold, damp cellar. I wish I saw more of these wines in the marketplace as I have been a big fan of this estate since I first tasted their 1978s. (RP)" (10/2009)

2007 Domaine de la Charbonnière "Les Hauts Brusquières Cuvée Spéciale" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine de la Charbonnière "Les Hauts Brusquières Cuvée Spéciale" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95RP, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine is composed of a selection the Maret family makes from their holdings in one of the great sites in all of Chateauneuf du Pape, the lieux-dit known as La Crau. The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Hautes Brusquieres Cuvee Speciale is a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah. The Grenache is aged in large oak foudres and most of the Syrah in smaller barrels. This fabulous, inky/ruby/purple-tinged wine offers up sweet, jammy aromas of black raspberries, licorice, truffles, underbrush, and Provencal herbs. It is the deepest colored of these four wines, and is also profoundly rich and layered, with sweet tannins as well as refreshing vibrancy and acidity. This stunner should hit its peak in 3-4 years, and last for two decades. (JD)" (10/2009)

2007 Domaine Saint Siffrein Chateauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Saint Siffrein Chateauneuf-du-Pape (94RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest effort I have yet tasted from this estate, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is composed of 65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre, and 5% Cinsault. Its traditional upbringing included 100% aging in old foudres. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by a big, sweet, juicy kiss of kirsch liqueur intermixed with blacker fruits, raspberries, licorice, camphor, and hints of lavender and incense. The wine exhibits terrific concentration, full-bodied intensity, and a 45-50-second finish. This sensational Chateauneuf du Pape will benefit from another 2-3 years of bottle age, and should drink well for 15-20 years. (RP)" (10/2009)

2007 Pierre Usseglio "Cuvée de Mon Aïeul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The thickest, richest and most extravagant Cuvee du Mon Aieul ever produced is unquestionably the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de Mon Aieul! Almost all old-vine Grenache brought up in tank (no new wood), it tastes like the raw essence of Grenache and has off-the-hook aromas and flavors of black raspberries, cassis, cured meats, licorice and incense. Massively rich and textured, with a full, layered mid-palate and sweet tannin, it's still an adolescent that drinks well today, due its insane amount of fruit, but will be even better in 2-3 years and have ...Read More »

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Showing the quality of the vintage, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is an incredible wine. Possessing the classic kirsch liqueur, incense, flowers and licorice aromas and flavors that always show here, it flows onto the palate with a jaw dropping good texture that carries massive amounts of fruit, beautiful mid-palate concentration and a layered, silky feel. 2007 Château Simian "Les Grandes Grenachieres d'Hippolyte" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An astonishing effort, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Grandes Grenachieres comes from a combination of Grenache vines planted in 1880, and younger vines planted in 1948. An incredible sleeper of the vintage to the extent anyone can find any of the 350 or so cases produced, it boasts a dense ruby/purple color in addition to an awesome aromatic display of spring flowers, sweet black raspberries and black cherries, and forest floor. The wine possesses amazing density and richness, yet flows across the palate like a delicate ballerina. This incredibly old ...Read More »

2007 Paul Autard "Cuvée Juline" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

95 points Wine Spectator: "Shows lots of exotic braised fig, black tea, roasted mesquite, incense and bittersweet cocoa notes, with a core of black cherry and raspberry fruit in reserve. The long, flashy finish lets pastis and Black Forest cake notes emerge. This has some toast to absorb, but it's all there. Best from 2010 through 2025. (JM)" (8/2009) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Juline is a 50-50 blend of Grenache and Syrah that is fermented and aged in new oak. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Château de Saint Cosme "Le Claux" Gigondas (97RP, 96WS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even better, the 2007 Gigondas Le Claux is surprisingly elegant and seamless (it’s normally the most structured in the lineup), with notions of pepper, earth, mineral, ground herbs and graphite supported by a rock-star core of darker berry fruit. Gaining richness in the glass, it’s a full-bodied, beautifully concentrated Gigondas the perfectly marries the inherent structure of the appellation with a sense of finesse and elegance. It too will continue to thrill over the coming 10-15 years. (JD)" (08/2014)

2007 Les Cailloux (Lucien et André Brunel) "Cuvée Centenaire" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Two brilliant successes are Brunel’s cuvees of 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape. His limited cuvee of approximately 500 cases of the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Centenaire (made from 80% Grenache aged in foudre, and the balance Syrah and Mourvedre aged in one- to three-year-old small barrels) comes primarily from a parcel of 120-year-old vines in the northern part of the appellation in the lieu-dit known as Farguerol. This cuvee has only been made in vintages such as 1989, 1990, 1995, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006, and now 2007. Deep ruby/purple in color ...Read More »

This has the length to let everything take an encore. Impressive." (11/2010) 94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright gold. Aromas of fresh pit fruits, orange marmalade, honey and pungent spices, with a smoky overtone. Lush and creamy in texture, offering mineral-drenched peach, pear and floral flavors and an exotic touch of candied licorice. 2007 Thierry-Allemand "Reynard" Cornas

92-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Inky purple. Deeper and more powerful on the nose than the Chaillot, displaying pungent aromas of cassis, boysenberry, violet, dark chocolate and licorice. Surprisingly lithe on the palate following the richness of the nose, offering vibrant dark berry flavors and a note of refreshingly bitter cherry skin. Turns spicier with air, finishing with strong cut and a persistent floral quality. I really like this wine's blend of masculine character and vibrancy. Full-bodied, seductive, and round with a generous, full-bodied mouthfeel and tremendous length and purity, this beauty is made from the estate’s youngest vines, just under 40-years of age. Loaded with ripe black raspberry, flowers, licorice, incense and olive tapenade-like aromas and flavors, it hits the palate layers of fruit, big texture, and masses of sweet tannin. Count me a fan and while it’s a joy to drink now, it will continue to evolve nicely through 2022. 2007 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beaucastel’s 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape has turned out even better out of bottle than I predicted. An inky/ruby/purple color is followed by a glorious nose of blue and black fruits, truffles, pen ink, licorice, and meat juices as well as glorious levels of acidity and sweet tannin, buttressing the fruit’s fabulous freshness and vibrancy. This full-bodied effort still displays considerable tannin, no doubt because of the relatively high Mourvedre content. It should resolve its tannins in 2-4 years, and last for 25 or more.
