2009 Latour-Martillac, Pessac-Léognan

94 points James Suckling: "Gorgeous nose of warm stones and dark fruits. Full body with a solid core of fruit and chewy tannins, and a long and intense finish. Best ever." (7/2012) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The best ever wine from this estate (even better than their sensational 2005), this full-bodied wine offers notes of blueberry, black currant, asphalt and burning charcoal embers in a deep, layered and multi-dimensional style. It is impressively pure and well-built, with far greater concentration and length than I ever remember this wine having in the past. Forget it for 5 years and drink it over the foll ...Read More »

2009 Branaire-Ducru, St-Julien

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Haut couture becomes a wine! This dense purple wine has the tell-tale notes of flowers and pencil shavings, and its broad aromatics are intense and totally captivating. Powerful, rich, and full, but less tannic than the 2005 and more opulent, this is a dazzling Branaire to drink between 2017-2035. (RP)" (2/2012) 95 points James Suckling: "Gorgeous aromas of dark berries and wet earth, with hints of graphite. Full body, with juicy, chewy tannins and a long rich, fruity, and succulent finish. Best ever from here. Try in 2019." (2/2012) 95 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* Very supple wine, with great ric ...Read More »

2009 Malartic-Lagravière Pessac-Léognan

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Served blind at the Southwold 2009 tasting. The Malartic-Lagraviere ‘09 is evolving into one of the finest wines that the estate has ever produced. It has a more introverted bouquet with dark berry fruit, undergrowth and iodine. With rigorous swirling it still refuses to unfurl. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins. It builds nicely towards a lovely black olive and spice tinged finish that exudes finesse. Superb. (NM)" (7/2013) 94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Almost sweet in its richness, this is a deliciously fruity wine. The structure and tannins are almost buried among a ...Read More »

2009 Les Grands Chenes, Médoc

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the cru bourgeois estates in the empire of Bernard Magrez, this may possibly be the best wine Les Grands Chenes has yet made. From old vines (average age 45) in the very northern part of the Medoc, the final blend of 51% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc hit 14% natural alcohol. The wine displays loads of espresso roast, black chocolate, creme de cassis, forest floor and tobacco leaf in a full-bodied, opulent, and flamboyant style. Dense, rich and deep in fruit, it exhibits the plush, silky tannins that are a signature of ...Read More »

2009 Marquis de Terme, Margaux

94 points James Suckling: "Bright, full ruby-red. Sexy, syrah-like aromas of blackberry, violet, smoke, game and underbrush. Densely packed and fine-grained, with lovely inner-mouth floral lift to its crushed berry flavors. A very rich and sweet style of Margaux, but the broad, dusty, building tannins call for some cellaring. Boasts excellent length for a wine from this chateau." (7/2012) 93 points Decanter: "Sumptuous cassis and blackberry nose, with a good deal of new oak. Sleek, elegant, poised, with great intensity and purity of fruit. There's spice and vigour on the mid-palate, but it's taut, tight ...Read More »

2009 d'Armailhac, Pauillac

93 points James Suckling: "Wonderful aromas of blackberries, blueberries and bramble berries. Full-bodied, with ripe tannins and wonderful fruit. There is really a gourmand style to it. So delicious. Fruity and velvety. So much flavor. Why wait? But will improve for years." (3/2012) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Deliciously fruity, with chocolate notes and acidity. The wine has dense but soft tannins that merge seamlessly into the black fruits. It is ripe, sweet, densely juicy. (RV)" (8/2010) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beautiful blueberry, black raspberry and cassis fruit as well as incense and graphite jump from the glass of this inky ruby/purple-colored wine. (2/2012) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the vertical held at the property, the 2009 Château Siran no longer displays the sur-maturité that was evident just after bottling and seems to have settled down with scents of black plum, spice, blackcurrants and graphite, the latter lending it an almost Brane-Cantenac like veneer. (2/2012) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The soft, sexy 2009 exhibits a dense plum/purple color along with a big, sweet bouquet of raspberries, black cherries, black currants, smoke and forest floor. (7/2014) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "A delicious wine, so fruity. It does have the proper tannins but it is a wine that is already approachable with its sweet fruits-a pleasure to taste. However, for the future, watch those tannins. 2009 Climens, Barsac (375ml)

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Climens is certainly more expressive on the nose compared to the 2010 Climens with potent honeysuckle, fresh pear and orange blossom that gently unfurl from the glass. Compared to the 2009 Rieussec for example, this is powerful but not quite as flamboyant. The palate is just fantastic, so energetic and tensile with layers of minerally, honeyed fruit laced with spice, sea salt, a touch of licorice and quince.
