2010 Brillette, Moulis Top Pick!
2010 Brillette, Moulis

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another superb over-achiever from the appellation of Moulis in the Medoc, this wine, a blend of 48% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, shows lots of licorice, barbecue smoke, charcuterie, plum and black currants. It hits the palate with a medium to full-bodied opulence. The tannins are sweet and the acidity adequate to provide definition and vibrancy. This is a beauty. An outstanding effort from proprietors, the Flageul family. (RP)" (2/2013) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Pure, lush and caressing, with lovely mouthfeel to the layers of dark plu ...Read More »

(11/2013) 95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Powerful, complex and ripe, this is a magnificent and concentrated wine. 2010 Malescot-St-Exupéry, Margaux (OWC)
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2010 Malescot-St-Exupéry, Margaux (OWC - 95JS, 95RP, 94WS, 93ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Gorgeous, flowery, classic Margaux once again, the 2010 Malescot St.-Exupery continues to show virtually no toasty oak, given the impeccable balance and full-bodied, full-throttle style it possesses. Black raspberries, creme de cassis and spring floral notes intermixed with forest floor and a hint of charcoal are followed by an opulent, sexy, full-bodied wine whose tannins have become much sweeter, while the wine is less restrained yet still exuberant and impressive. This is a phenomenal example once again for this estate, harmonious in every sense of style, extraordinarily long, rich and ageworthy. Three to four years of bottle age will do wonders to make it more accessible, but this wine is set for 25-30 years of longevity. (RP)" (02/2013)

It’s bright, fruity and layered with acidity, and the firm tannins show through slowly, offering power and density for the medium-term. 100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is considered to be among the greatest vintages ever made in Montrose, right up with the 1929, 1945, 1947, 1959, 1961, 1989, 1990 and 2009. Harvest was October 15 to 17. The wine has really come on since I last tasted it, and it needs at least another 10 years of cellaring. The blend was 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. The wine is opaque black/blue, with an incredible nose of blueberry and blackberry liqueur, with hints of incense, licorice, and acacia flowers. Tannins are incredibly sweet and very present. ...Read More »

2010 Suduiraut, Sauternes (375ml)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Along with Chateau Rieussec, the Suduiraut 2010 is a candidate for best Sauternes of the vintage. It has a wonderful bouquet with an instantaneous sense of completeness and harmony, with layers of botrytized fruit intermingling with apricot blossom, peach skin and marmalade. This is powerful, but not in your face. There is no need to be. The palate is well-balanced with a viscous opening. There is plenty of botrytis here, good acidity and enormous weight on the finish. Perhaps it needs a little more tension, but otherwise this is a very impressive wine f ...Read More »

2010 Figeac, St-Emilion Top Pick!
2010 Figeac, St-Emilion

98 points James Suckling: "This is phenomenal on the nose with blackberries, fresh cep mushrooms, forest fruit, and earth. Turns to hazelnuts and dark berries. Subtle. Breathtaking. It's full-bodied on the palate, with superb tannins that last for minutes. The flavor is subtle yet incredible. Love the texture. It is the same wonderful quality level as 2009. This is so fabulous to taste now, but so much better in 2018." (2/2013) 96 points Wine Enthusiast: "This Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated wine always stands out as a powerhouse of impressive tannins. In 2010, it is complex with a dense structure, tight mineral ...Read More »

2010 Meyney, St-Estèphe

94 points James Suckling: "This is the best Meyney in years with blackberry, mint and minerals on the nose and palate. Full and super silky, with a long, long finish. Wonderful wine." (4/2011) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is good to see this well-situated estate in St.-Estephe get back on track. The 2010 has loads of beef blood, charcuterie and smoked game along with black currant fruit. Some underlying graphite notes are also present in this full-bodied, meaty, fleshy wine, which has outstanding concentration and the potential to last for 15 or more years. It is a major sleeper of the vintage." (2/2013) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Solid ...Read More »

2010 l'Eglise Clinet, Pomerol

98 points James Suckling: "Sweet berries with hints of incense and spices on the nose with black truffles. Very ripe but not over-the-top. This is full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a smoky wood and mushroom undertone. It's dense and impressive yet very balanced. I like it, slightly better quality than the 2009. Give the wine five or six years of bottle age to soften before opening." (2/2013) 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine will likely be a major superstar with about 10-15 years of cellaring. It was one of the more closed and difficult wines to penetrate and one of probably only a dozen or so 2010s that ...Read More »

2010 Marquis de Terme, Margaux Back In Stock!
2010 Marquis de Terme, Margaux

92 points James Suckling: "A wine with dried meats and berries on the nose and palate. Full body, beautiful fine tannins and a juicy finish finish. Chewy tannins. Still needs time to come together. Try in 2016." (2/2013) 92 points Wine Spectator: "This is alluring, with the sappy feel of the kirsch, dark plum and loganberry fruit melded nicely to a charcoal spine. The long, smoldering finish reveals a singed iron note and features good grip. Should evolve nicely. Best from 2015 through 2030. (JM)" (3/2013) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Juicy, though a little on the lean side, this wine shows a strong flavor of black currant while its tannin ...Read More »

2010 Larcis Ducasse, St-Emilion (3L)

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The wine boasts 14.6% natural alcohol and is a final blend of roughly three-fourths Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc, cropped at a ridiculously low 19 hectoliters per hectare. Notes of licorice, garrigue, incense, smoked meats, espresso, creme de cassis and blackberry liqueur jump from the glass of this unbelievably intense wine. Remarkably full, with compelling freshness and precision, this is a fabulous effort in 2010. It will probably close down over the next several years, and not re-emerge for at least a decade, something that often happens with t ...Read More »

2010 Margaux, Margaux (6L) Top Pick!
2010 Margaux, Margaux (6L)

100 points James Suckling: "This was phenomenal from barrel and remains so. The aromas are spellbinding. It smells like a bouquet of pink roses and then goes to currants, berries and citrus. Full body, with wonderfully refined tannins. It starts discretely and then grows to different levels and dimensions like a slow but big high tide. The texture is so beautiful. Try it in 2020 or beyond." (2/2013) 99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 is a brilliant Chateau Margaux, as one might expect in this vintage. The percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon in the final blend hit 90%, the balance Merlot and Cabernet Franc, and o ...Read More »

2010 Langoa-Barton, St-Julien (1.5L) 6-pack in OWC

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Fruity and juicy, this showcases the accessibility of this estate, while also highlighting some of the tannic structure of its big brother, Léoville-Barton. There is a classic black-currant note that's balanced by the firm tannins of the vintage. (RV)" (2/2013) 94 points Wine Spectator: "Tightly focused, with a beam of cassis and blackberry fruit framed by integrated espresso and charcoal notes. The ample structure drives the polished finish, allowing extra notes of plum sauce, pastis and blueberry coulis to stride through. Shows serious grip at the very end. Best from 2016 through ...Read More »
