2010 Pauillac de Latour, Pauillac

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The best Pauillac I ever tasted (and this wine has been a revelation ever since they first introduced it), the 2010 from Latour represents 24% of their production. It is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44.5% Merlot and .5% Cabernet Franc. An amazingly opulent, round, delicious wine, and a great buy when they finally release it – assuming it comes in under a three-digit price – it possesses wonderfully silky tannins, classic black currant, cedar wood and forest floor notes, and rich, full-bodied opulence as well as a terrific purity and palate presence ...Read More »

2010 Plaisance "Cuvée Alix", Bordeaux

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 100,000 bottles of this beautiful sleeper of the vintage, which offers terrific value. The proprietor is the son of Bernard Magrez, who has crafted a blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc. Fruity and Bordeaux-like, with notes of tobacco leaf, blueberries, black raspberries and incense, this explosively fruity, delicious, complex wine is relatively easy to consume yet should continue to drink well for 7-8 years, if not longer. 2010 La Fleur Terrien, Lussac St-Emilion Top Pick!
2010 La Fleur Terrien, Lussac St-Emilion

A delicious value red from the right bank. The 10s are usually tannic and a bit hard, but this wine drinks great right now. Lots of sweet blackberry flavors and a smooth, lingering finish. Have it now with a nice rack of lamb. Can be cellared five Plus years. Tastes like a 2009 vintage-maybe they mislabelled it?

2010 Franc Mayne, St-Emilion

92 points Wine Spectator: "This delivers the profile of the vintage, with spice-infused raspberry, boysenberry and blackberry fruit coursing along nicely, followed by delineated anise and spice notes, all carried by a racy graphite spine. Rock-solid and nicely balanced, this should age elegantly. Best from 2014 through 2024. (JM, Web-2013)" 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "A balanced and structured wine that shows fine acidity, berry fruits and dashing acidity. (11/2013) 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Lynch Bages is an absolutely brilliant wine, and somewhat reminiscent at this stage in its development of the profound 1989. A big, back-strapping blockbuster from Gazin, in which the oak seems to be pushed into the background (thankfully), the wine offers up notes of caramelized black cherry and black currant fruit interwoven with mocha, white chocolate, subtle toast and hints of coffee beans and tobacco leaf. Some oak is present, but this is a mid-weight, savory, broad and disarming wine to drink over the next 10-15 years." (2/2013) 88-91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Saturated red. Dense and very sweet on the palate with bright acidity and wonderful purity of fruit. Soft, well-balanced and very elegant long finish. Medium sweetness. Intense botrytis spice on finish. Better in 2016." (2/2013) 96 points Wine Spectator: "Dense and lush now, offering tangerine, apricot, honey-roasted almond and dacquoise notes, with a long, powerful, honeyed finish that lets toasted coconut and mango cruise through. The lovely dried pineapple and honeysuckle accen ...Read More »

2010 Lafon-Rochet, St-Estèphe

90-93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Dark ruby-red. Deep, pure, perfumed aromas of black fruits, cured tobacco and black tea. Brawny and a bit chunky on the palate with a minty quality to the black fruit and flint flavors. Finishes with big, chewy tannins and a persistent note of cassis. Shows a creamy texture and plenty of palate weight but seems a little unrefined presently. This will need a good eight to ten years in the bottle to harmonize fully and should go on for another 20 after that. Incidentally, I sampled this wine three times and once it was vegetal and green; my guess is that i ...Read More »

2010 Le Bon Pasteur, Pomerol

95 points James Suckling: "What a wine. Cool purple fruit at first with plums, coffee and red peppercorns. Very elegant on the palate opening up with a great texture and finesse. Deep and profound yet still so harmonious. Hazelnut and chocolate. It comes together beautifully." (2/2013) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A fleshy, full-throttle wine with lots of mocha, kirsch, mulberry, and plum, their 2010 displays a smorgasbord of aromas, a full-bodied mouthfeel, terrific purity, density and even a hint of lead pencil shavings and subtle toasty oak. If you want to understand the genius of the Rollands, there is no b ...Read More »

2010 Le Petit Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac

96 points James Suckling: "This is clearly the best second wine that Mouton has ever made. Truly superb with blackberries and currants on the nose. Full body, with super velvety tannins. The length is so wonderful and delicious. Dense yet super balanced. Hard not to drink now. Better in 2018." (2/2013) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is a fabulous wine, but if you want to drink something reminiscent of Mouton Rothschild before 2025, it is probably worth taking a look at the 2010 Le Petit Mouton, which seems to be going from strength to strength at this estate. This wine has 14% natural alcohol because there is ...Read More »

2010 Figeac, St-Émilion (1.5L)

98 points James Suckling: "This is phenomenal on the nose with blackberries, fresh cep mushrooms, forest fruit, and earth. Turns to hazelnuts and dark berries. Subtle. Breathtaking. It's full-bodied on the palate, with superb tannins that last for minutes. The flavor is subtle yet incredible. Love the texture. It is the same wonderful quality level as 2009. This is so fabulous to taste now, but so much better in 2018." (2/2013) 96 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* This Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated wine always stands out as a powerhouse of impressive tannins. In 2010, it is complex with a dense struct ...Read More »

2010 Lynch-Moussas, Pauillac(1.5L) New!
2010 Lynch-Moussas, Pauillac(1.5L)

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "One of the chateaus owned by négociant Borie-Manoux, Lynch-Moussas has produced a fine, stylish 2010, which is firmly based on Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit is rich and ripe, dominated by a blackberry note and underpinned by tannins. This is a chateau to watch. (RV)" (2/2013) 92 points James Suckling: "Aromas of fresh herbs and berry with chocolate powder undertones. Full and very velvety with a lovely finish. Needs at least five years to soften." (2/2013) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 is a strong effort and one of their best wines in a generation or more. Some toasty oak seems relatively strong, but not ...Read More »
