2007 Alexandre Le Brun "Cuvée Fascination" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne

Alexandre le Brun is a young, 9th generation winemaker in Monthelon in the Ardenne (Marne) region of Champagne. His family established themselves in Champagne in 1750 and their cellars were built in 1822. We were very pleased to meet him and are very excited to carry his wines.

2007 Michel Loriot "Les Sources du Flagot" Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne

This all-Chardonnay Champagne is very different from most that I have tried. Instead of coming from the pure chalk of the Côte des Blancs, it is all from Festigny, on the east facing slopes of the Flagot River that runs through the village. It has a pretty white-gold color and great focus and minerality that balance out its extroverted nutty, flowery flavors and aromas. It has a very persistent and intriguing finish and, at only six grams per liter of dosage, makes a great aperitif. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)

2007 Maison Louis Latour Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Hints of oak spice add nuance to the classic dried white flower aromas that precede the broad-shouldered flavors that are clean, dry and ultra intense with real drive on the penetrating and discreetly mineral-suffused as well as notably dry finish that delivers stunning length. At present, this lacks just the last bit of complexity to be at the same level as the Demoiselles but it's not far off. In sum, this is a big and rich but not massive Bâtard." (7/2009)

2007 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis-Les Clos Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis-Les Clos Grand Cru (96ST, 95RP, 95WS, 94BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright yellow. Subtly complex nose melds Asian pear, violet, lavender, ginger, iodine and powdered stone. Tactile and dense on entry, then creamy in the middle, conveying an impression of great volume without weight. This extremely backward, youthfully understated Clos firms up dramatically on the back end, finishing with palate-saturating citrus and talc flavors that refuse to fade. One of the longest Chablis bottlings I tasted for this issue, this truly transcends Chardonnay. 96+ (ST)" (07/2009)

2007 Domaine Leflaive Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Leflaive Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (98WE, 95VN, 94RP, 94WS, (91-93BH), 93ST). Wine Enthusiast: "A glorious outpouring of beautifully crafted Chardonnay, opulent but tightly mineral. The ripe apple and pear character has a delicate, elegant squeeze of lime, while the whole wine is underpinned by wood. No doubt for long-term aging. " (07/2010)

2007 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (1.5L)
Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2007 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (1.5L). Praise from Allen Meadows: "The quality Colin is achieving is starting to put him in an elite group, and I suspect that he will continue to improve. If so, Colin may soon rival Henri Boillot for the best micro négociant in Burgundy specializing in whites." (07/2009) And, from Stephen Tanzer on the 2007 vintage: "Pierre-Yves Colin, who has taken all manner of measures to protect his wines against premature oxidation, advanced the theory that high alcohol levels, whether from late harvesting or excessive chaptalization, can lead to premature oxidation by knocking the wines off balance. ... The 2007s were stunning at the beginning of June. Colin made 70,000 bottles of 2007 (all white wine), more than half of which is Saint-Aubin. The 2007s were bottled in March of 2009 without fining or filtration. Colin ages most of his crus in 350-liter barrels made by Chassin and Francois Freres." (0

2007 Domaine Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru "Montmains"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru "Montmains" (91BH, (90-91RP), (90-91ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In tank awaiting imminent fining and bottling, Raveneau's 2007 Chablis Montmains displays a personality slightly split between brash citricity on the one hand and, on the other, a combination of textural waxiness and creaminess with lanolin and vanillin notes from barrel. A gentian-like floral note wafts all the way through to a finish uniting a bite of citrus rind and white pepper with chalk dust, salt, and refreshing citrus. (DS)" (12/2009)

2007 Antoine Jobard Meursault 1er Cru "Charmes"

92-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In barrel and waiting its second racking and bottling, the Jobard 2007 Meursault Charmes is scented with distilled pear and white peach, with the piquancy of their pits segueing into suggestions of citrus rind and crushed stone. Lemony and fresh pit fruit brightness on a subtly silken yet palpably extract-rich palate are underlain by milled grain and toasted nuts, as well as a diversity of mineral nuances – rather alkaline as well as chalky; savory as well as saline – that make for genuine intrigue. It could be that the location of Jobard’s vines – borde ...Read More »

2007 Domaine William Fevre Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" Back In Stock!
2007 Domaine William Fevre Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos"

96 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "I had a chance to retaste this side by side with its 2008 counterpart and the '07 matches the brilliant quality albeit in a different style due to the vintage characteristics. As such, I am raising my rating slightly. An aggregator is how I would describe this nose as the range of aromas and subtle nuances is genuinely amazing with a purity of expression that is nothing short of riveting with the classic assertive mineral reduction character that suffuses the character of this wine from the incredibly detailed nose to the wonderfully long, palate stainin ...Read More »
