2007 Alexandre Le Brun "Cuvée Fascination" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne

Alexandre le Brun is a young, ninth generation winemaker in Monthelon in the Ardenne (Marne) region of Champagne. His family established themselves in Champagne in 1750 and their cellars were built in 1822. We were very pleased to meet him and are very excited to carry his wines.

2007 Michel Loriot "Les Sources du Flagot" Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne

This all-Chardonnay Champagne is very different from most that I have tried. Instead of coming from the pure chalk of the Côte des Blancs, it is all from Festigny, on the east facing slopes of the Flagot River that runs through the village. It has a pretty white-gold color and great focus and minerality that balance out its extroverted nutty, flowery flavors and aromas. It has a very persistent and intriguing finish and, at only six grams per liter of dosage, makes a great aperitif. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)

2007 Domaine Vrignaud Chablis 1er Cru "Fourchaume"

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A slightly riper but still completely classic Chablis nose with salt water, green fruit, spiced floral notes and citrus nuances, the latter of which also characterizes the tangy, intense, round and solidly concentrated flavors that finish with real drive and verve though not quite the complexity that the next two wines display. Good quality here." (10/2009)

2007 Billaud-Simon Chablis-Vaudésir Grand Cru

93-95 points James Suckling: "A moderately riper yet extremely tight nose of iodine, salt and intense sea shore aromas complement to perfection the rich, full and powerful flavors that are a big step up in weight and power as they etch themselves into the palate on the broad-shouldered and muscular finish. This isn't a wine of finesse but as Chablis goes, this is a bruiser of superb intensity that embodies the phrase "jus de pierre" (rock juice)." (10/2009) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Billaud 2007 Chablis Vaudesir smells of white peach, persimmon, orange zest, and musk, which are accented on a wonderfully ref ...Read More »

2007 Maison Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (3L) (OWC)
Bid on this 3L-bottle lot of 2007 Maison Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (3L) (OWC - 96BH) in original wood. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Seemingly like all of Boillot's wines in this vintage, a strikingly pure nose of green apple, white flower and spice aromas complements perfectly the delicious, intense and stony flavors that are among the ripest in the range yet remain wonderfully vibrant and gorgeously detailed on the taut, transparent and bone dry finish that bathes the palate in dry extract. This is beautifully balanced and among the best wines of the vintage from Corton. In a word, brilliant." (07/2009)
