Alexandre le Brun is a young, ninth generation winemaker in Monthelon in the Ardenne (Marne) region of Champagne. His family established themselves in Champagne in 1750 and their cellars were built in 1822. We were very pleased to meet him and are very excited to carry his wines.

2007 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Valmur"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Valmur" (95RP, 94BH, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The first grapes picked from the marl-rich upper portion of this site near Vaudesir, Fevre’s 2007 Chablis Valmur nonetheless displays (as in 2006) a dramatically different personality from their Vaudesir. Fresh lime, red currant, tangerine, grapefruit, and peony mingle in a Riesling-like effusion of fruit and flower, underlain by a salty and iodine-tinged mineral soup that seems as deep as the sea. Soundings reveal citrus zest, fruit pits, kelp, pine resin, and oyster shells. This should be an almost inexhaustible source of intrigue and pleasure over the coming decade. You’ll never get to the bottom of it, but so much the better for you and the wine! Fine as the 2006 was, this 2007 seems to illustrate the extent to which slow ripening, high extract, and bright acids best complement Valmur’s inherent character. (DS)" (12/2009)

2007 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru "Fourchaume"

"Sweet spot Outstanding" and 90-93 points Allen Meadows: "A wonderfully airy, floral and lightly spiced nose layers in notes of sea breeze, algae and oyster shell, all of which can be found on the rich, full and quite serious medium plus bodied flavors that are round yet like the Mont de Milieu, retain a fine sense of detail and delineation on the tension-filled finish. Again, terrific quality and absolutely worth a look." (Tasted: Oct 01, 2008)

2007 Olivier Bernstein Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Olivier Bernstein Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes" (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Bernstein 2007 Meursault Charmes leads with smoky, resinous, heliotrope, vanilla, and toasted nut aromas; comes to the palate caressingly creamy, with nut paste and honey lending a confectionary aura; and finishes imposingly long and with a surprising degree of fresh, juicy peach and apple fruit. There isn't any mystery or mineral side to this, but it is certainly going to give lots of pleasure – for how long I won't pretend the ability to predict, given that this is a brand new venture.
