2007 Alexandre Le Brun "Cuvée Fascination" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne

Alexandre le Brun is a young, 9th generation winemaker in Monthelon in the Ardenne (Marne) region of Champagne. His family established themselves in Champagne in 1750 and their cellars were built in 1822. We were very pleased to meet him and are very excited to carry his wines.

2007 Michel Loriot "Les Sources du Flagot" Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne

This all-Chardonnay Champagne is very different from most that I have tried. Instead of coming from the pure chalk of the Côte des Blancs, it is all from Festigny, on the east facing slopes of the Flagot River that runs through the village. It has a pretty white-gold color and great focus and minerality that balance out its extroverted nutty, flowery flavors and aromas. It has a very persistent and intriguing finish and, at only six grams per liter of dosage, makes a great aperitif. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)

Of the 2006 Domaine Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru,Wine Enthusiast writes: "Power, density, huge richness--all the attributes you would expect from a Corton-Charlemagne. But, this being 2006, the ripe tropical fruits are crispened with acidity which cuts through the impressive opulence and ripeness. (RV)" (10/2008)

2007 Maison Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Maison Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (97RP, 96BH, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine is like a complex and graceful ballet between groups of dancers marked 'fruit,' 'mineral,' 'floral,' and 'animal.' These players include pear, apricot, and lime; chalk, white pepper, salt crustacean shell reduction, chicken broth, and a carpet of flowers: in short, the usual suspects. And here, too, we have soothing and seductive creaminess combined with refreshment, transparency to nuance, and electric energy (even though soothing seduction is not usually delivered by youthful Corton Charlemagne). This possesses all of these features, but to an exceptional degree, as well as a sense of purity and lift somehow perfectly compatible with detonative finishing intensity. (DS)" (12/2009)

2007 Domaine Vrignaud Chablis 1er Cru "Fourchaume"

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A slightly riper but still completely classic Chablis nose with salt water, green fruit, spiced floral notes and citrus nuances, the latter of which also characterizes the tangy, intense, round and solidly concentrated flavors that finish with real drive and verve though not quite the complexity that the next two wines display. Good quality here." (10/2009)

2007 Louis Carillon Bienvenues-Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Louis Carillon Bienvenues-Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru (94BH, 92ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As would be reasonably expected, the Bienvenues possesses a distinctly more elegant if presently highly restrained nose of airy notes of honeysuckle, subtle spice, lemon peel and cool green fruit that is in keeping with the refined, pure, dry and strikingly precise medium-full flavors that coat, and stain, the palate with ample dry extract and outstanding length on the citrusy finish. This achieves its usual stunning quality but the Referts is closer than it usually is." (06/2010)

2007 Etienne Sauzet Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2007 Etienne Sauzet Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru (1.5L) (96BH, 96RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From right up against the rocks (just below the En Richard parcel that helps inform his Folatieres), Boudot’s 2007 Chevalier-Montrachet smells pungently and sweetly of lavender, buddleia, heliotrope, and citrus zest. Silken-textured and refined in texture yet positively gripping in its sense of implacable, enervative, vibratory persistence of chalk, citrus oils, white pepper, and herbal-floral concentrates, this superb representation of some of wine’s finest acreage should be worth following for a decade or more, but is another Sauzet 2007 not to be missed young. In Boudot’s view, it’s typical for Chevalier to deliver “the most immediate pleasure” of the Montrachet grand crus. Here you get surfeit of energy and near-indelible pungency as well as of uncannily seductive liquid flowers, yet with lift and supreme elegance. (DS)" (12/2009)

2007 Billaud-Simon Chablis-Vaudésir Grand Cru

93-95 points James Suckling: "A moderately riper yet extremely tight nose of iodine, salt and intense sea shore aromas complement to perfection the rich, full and powerful flavors that are a big step up in weight and power as they etch themselves into the palate on the broad-shouldered and muscular finish. This isn't a wine of finesse but as Chablis goes, this is a bruiser of superb intensity that embodies the phrase "jus de pierre" (rock juice)." (10/2009) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Billaud 2007 Chablis Vaudesir smells of white peach, persimmon, orange zest, and musk, which are accented on a wonderfully ref ...Read More »

2007 J.-F. Coche Dury Meursault
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 J.-F. Coche Dury Meursault (92ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(from Les Chaumes des Perrieres) Bright, pale yellow. Tangy aromas of orange, peach and spices. Broad and lively, with intense fruit lifted by a near-perfect sugar/acid balance. Finishes with excellent cut. This is awfully good for a wine from seven-year-old vines." (09/2009)

2007 Domaine Roulot Meursault "Les Tillets"
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Roulot Meursault "Les Tillets" (91BH, 91ST, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Reticent aromas of lemon, lime and flowers. Juicy, lively and intense, with very firm and complex flavors of lime, flower blossom and minerals. Offers a lovely combination of flesh and spine, and noteworthy precision to its sweet fruit. Long on the aftertaste. These vines face south/southeast and always produce fruit that is 0.5% higher in sugar, which rounds out the palate, noted Roulot, who said that this is 12.9% natural alcohol in 2007. 91(+?) points." 2007 Domaine Arnaud Ente Meursault 1er Cru "La Goutte d'Or"
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine Arnaud Ente Meursault 1er Cru "La Goutte d'Or" (91RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Ente’s 2007 Meursault Gouttes d’Or exhibits stony and briny elements one might have predicted given both the site and the wines that went before in his vintage collection. A lovely counterpoint between bright citrus and salt on the one hand and toasted grains and nuts with a hint of honey on the other lends this a distinctive dynamic and – for all of its overtly mineral cast – considerable charm. Zesty, invigorating, and palpably chalky in its long finish, this promises future richness and a good half dozen years of interest. (DS)" (12/2009)

2007 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes"
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes" (93BH, 92ST, 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Unlike this wine in 750 ml (see there review herein), there was no touch of unabsorbed sulfur on the nose though there was a mild note of reduction that still allowed the aromas of acacia blossom, hazelnut and brioche to be appreciated. There is good richness to the detailed, textured and silky medium-bodied flavors that caress the palate on the minty and still noticeably tight finish. Not surprisingly in magnum format this is still very much on the way up so I would recommend giving this at least another 5 to 10 years of cellar time first." (12/2015)
