2006 Domaine Francois Parent Volnay 1er Cru "Les Fremiets"

Wine Spectator: "A powerful red, with ripe cherry, red currant and beefy tannins to match. A bit dry in the end, with a spicy aftertaste. It's a race between the fruit and tannins over time. (BS, Web-2009)" K&L Notes: Francois Parent's father was one of the first vignerons in Burgundy to begin bottling as a domaine, rather than simply selling off his wine in bulk to the local negotiants. His mother helped in marketing the wines, traveling throughout Europe as one of the first grower/producers, pioneering a boutique trend that has become much more normalized today. Francois has contin... Read More »

2006 Domaine Jean Tardy Clos Vougeot Grand Cru "Grand Maupertuis"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Jean Tardy Clos Vougeot Grand Cru "Grand Maupertuis" ((90-92BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the wood spice is no longer subtle though neither does it dominate the complex and relatively high-toned nose that is ripe and pretty while showcasing lovely red and dark berry fruit aromas amply laced with earth and underbrush notes that are also picked up by the detailed and strikingly long full-bodied flavors that possess plenty of palate staining extract. This is a bit oaky for me but there is no question that this is a wine of real quality that should repay up to a decade of cellar time. " (01/2008)

2006 Domaine Louis Jadot Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Louis Jadot Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru (93ST, 92RP, 92WS, 91BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Pungent red berries, rose petal, gingerbread and musky underbrush on the nose, with a sappy suggestion of raspberry liqueur emerging with air. Silky and light on its feet, with penetrating red berry and spice flavors given energy on the back end by powerful minerality and captivating floral lift. The liqueur-like raspberry quality seemed to come and go as I drained this bottle to the dregs over a period of 48 hours. Has the tannic spine to support a leisurely evolution in bottle. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru (94WS, (90-93BH), 92ST, 91RP). Wine Spectator: "Supple and silky, with a vibrant structure and refined tannins. Full of blackberry, black currant, spice and mineral flavors, this is intense and harmonious. Tightly knit, yet not stingy, with a long aftertaste of cherry and mineral. Best from 2013 through 2026. 2006 Maison Méo-Camuzet Frères et Soeurs Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Feusselottes"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Maison Méo-Camuzet Frères et Soeurs Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Feusselottes". According to Allen Meadows: "Discreet wood spice notes and very ripe blue berry, cherry and hints of cassis with subtle floral notes merge into rich, rich and firmly structured flavors that are bigger than what I usually find with Feusselottes, all wrapped in mouth coating finish. This is impressively scaled and delicious with a bit more depth than the Les Cras though if there is a nit, this lacks a bit of energy. Still, it's a very attractive wine for drinking over the next decade, perhaps a bit longer." (Jan 08)

2006 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Chênes"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Chênes" (95WE, 93BH, 93RP, 92ST). Wine Enthusiast: "Tannic and structured, chunky in style and texture. There are smoky flavors, acidity, berry fruits and black cherries as well as richness. There is a certain severity here, the wine passing through a firm stage before developing further complexity. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (12/2010)

2006 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru "Les Mitans"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru "Les Mitans" (92RP, 90BH, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Lafarges' 2006 Volnay Mitans represents the charming and in its way equally impressive alter ego to their Beaune Greves. Freshness of (raspberry and red cherry) fruit and a lively and intricate interplay with alkaline, chalky, saline, zesty citrus oil and spicy elements are strikingly displayed, but there is a polished texture and subtly soothing, mouth-coating sweetness of fruit to match all of this wine's energy. The sense of lift – near delicacy – here is uncanny in view of its simultaneous ability to caress the palate and to convey a sense of mineral extract. Nor can wafting floral high tones or emerging suggestions of marrow-rich meat stock and noble mushrooms be overlooked in this multi-registered performance, which should continue to be memorably delicious for at least a decade. I would not, however, expect it to take on either teen- or midd

2006 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Chateau des Ducs"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Chateau des Ducs" (92BH, 92ST, 91RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Captivating aromas of cherry, spices, minerals and flowers. Fat, broad and deeply spicy, with noteworthy depth of flavor and a tactile mouth feel. At once mouthfilling and vibrant; seamless and lively. The very long finish features thoroughly enrobed ripe tannins and vibrant spicy persistence. It will be fascinating to compare this with the 2007 version in six or seven years. (ST) 92+" (03/2009)

2006 Domaine Jean Tardy Echézeaux Grand Cru "Les Treux" Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Jean Tardy Echézeaux Grand Cru "Les Treux" Vieilles Vignes (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Moderate wood influence sets off equally ripe yet spicier black fruit aromas that retain a hint of the sauvage, which makes for an interesting contrast of refinement and a certain flora/fauna character that continues onto the reserved, intense but robust and powerful flavors that possess plenty of underlying extract and real finishing drive. The velvety texture renders the firm but ripe tannins almost invisible but they're definitely present and this should require the better part of a decade to reveal its full potential." (01/2009)

2006 Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Le Corton Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A reserved and relatively cool nose of wild red berries, game, underbrush and crushed herbs introduces earthy, intense and impressively broad scaled and powerful flavors that are dense, balanced and vibrant and really stain the palate on the explosively long finish that is youthfully austere. A stunner that should age beautifully well." (4/2008) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Corton is the largest grand cru in Burgundy (all of 240 acres) and its style can vary widely. Bouchard has gone for a relatively soft style, emphasizing fruits, raspberry, myrtle and black currants, topped with aci ...Read More »
