2004-2006 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Tasting Lot
Bid on this 3-bottle 2004-2006 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 2004 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs" (92RP, 90ST), 1-bottle of 2005 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Meursault "Santenots" (91BH), and 1-bottle of 2006 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs" (92ST, 91RP, 90WS). Of the 2004 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs",Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2004 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Ducs, poured from magnum, has a deep garnet color. It feels stubborn and obdurate on the nose, as Clos des Ducs can do, with blackcurrant leaf and subtle marine influences that become more pronounced with aeration. The palate is supple on the entry with fine tannins and good substance. Succulent dark cherries intermix with red plum and Earl Grey tea towards the structured finish. Very fine. Drink now-2020. 2006 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Vaucrains"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Vaucrains" ((92-95ST), (91-94BH), 94RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, deep ruby-red. Aromas of dark berry liqueur and bitter chocolate are sappy and liqueur-like but with outstanding energy. Quite full and powerful for a wine from this cellar, with outstanding sweetness and breadth to its flavors of blackberry, chocolate and roast coffee. Downright explosive on the finish, the noble tannins totally buffered by a wave of fruit." (04/2008)

2006 Domaine Joseph Roty Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru "Très Vielles Vignes"

94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red-ruby. Brooding, reticent nose offers black cherry, licorice, crushed stone, leather and earth. Began mute but opened slowly in the glass to offer nuanced, sweet flavors of dark berries, licorice and spices, plus a suggestion of ripe strawberry. Mounts impressively on the back half, eventually finishing with explosive sappy length. This may be even less expressive today than the Mazis-and it's likely to shut down in bottle for an extended period-but there's more of everything here. 94+ (ST)" (3/2009) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From vines in two parcels of the original C ...Read More »

2006 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Cailles"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Cailles" ((90-93BH), 93RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Cailles introduces another level of complexity, focus, and concentration from the premier cru bottlings that preceded it in this Chevillon line-up, paralleling the jump in price with which it is assocated. Enveloping yet bright ripe black currant and black raspberry mingle with toasted pecan, cocoa powder, and vanilla. A high-toned, distilled dimension to the fruit adds considerable allure, and a diverse yet largely ineffable range of stony and crystalline mineral suggestions offers counterpoint in the dynamic dialog that ensues, continuing into a long, savory, yet faintly bitter and decidedly chalky finish. I would wait a couple of years and then plan to enjoy this for 6-8 more. (DS)" (12/2009)

2006 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Combe Aux Moines" Vieille Vigne
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Combe Aux Moines" Vieille Vigne (92RP, 92ST, 91BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Fourrier 2006 Gevrey-Chambertin Combe Aux Moines displays a luscious, concentrated combination of tart but ripe cherry and red raspberry with brown spices, vanilla, and licorice. Undertones of salt, chalk, and roasted red meat gain prominence as one moves closer to a gripping and invigorating finish. A suffusion of fine tannins seems to suggest the promise of a decade's interesting maturation without any rough periods. (DS)" (12/2009)

2006 Domaine Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru "Clos des Epeneaux" (Pre-Arrival) Back In Stock!
2006 Domaine Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru "Clos des Epeneaux" (Pre-Arrival)

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Outstanding* In contrast to the reticence displayed from barrel, now that the '06 is in bottle it is surprisingly open and expressive with a beautifully layered nose of raspberry, cherry and red Pinot fruit nuanced by hints of spice, earth, minerals and a dried herb component that introduces intense, balanced and pure flavors that culminate in a serious, mouth coating and well built finish where the tannins are solid but not rustic or aggressive. This will require the better part of a decade to arrive at its majority as the tannins are quite firm and de ...Read More »

2006 Domaine J-F Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Fuées"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine J-F Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Fuées" (92RP, 92ST, 91BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Peat, black tea, game, mint, crushed stone, and dark berry aromas rise in at once sinister and enticing profusion from the glass of Mugnier's 2006 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuees. Corresponding low-toned complexity characterizes the opulently-textured and caressing, bittersweet palate. Stony minerality proves the most tenaciously aspect of this dark beauty's long, soothing, yet almost brooding finish. It sent chills back up my spine just transcribing my tasting note and recreating this wine's uncanny, hard-to-describe character. I suspect it will be worth following for ten or a dozen years, probably longer. The track record at this address is more than merely convincing. (DS)" (12/2009)

2006 Domaine Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) Back In Stock!
2006 Domaine Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Jadot 2006 Clos Vougeot – one lot of which was parked in tank for nearly six months while waiting for the other to finally undergo malo – exhibits an unusually dark color for its collection; offers a polished, rich, velvet-textured melange of lightly-cooked black fruits underlain by roasted red meats; and finishes sedately but with memorable savor and length. Lardiere's fears that the wine might end up disjointed have thus proven unfounded, and I suspect that this classic example of top-notch Clos Vougeot will be worth following over the next decade. ...Read More »

2006 Simon Bize Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru "Aux Vergelesses"
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Simon Bize Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru "Aux Vergelesses" (93BH, 90RP, 90WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "***Sweet Spot - Outstanding*** This is extremely primary, indeed to the point of where it even appears backward relative to the Fourneaux with a similarly brooding nose of plum and dark berry fruit with extraordinarily powerful flavors for this growth with everything it needs for a long life as the impression is one of controlled muscle and punch plus gorgeous length. This competes very favorably for the Savigny of the vintage honors though note that the style is decidedly old school. (AM)" (04/2008)

2006 Louis Jadot Echezeaux Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) Back In Stock!
2006 Louis Jadot Echezeaux Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From two different estate properties in the Rouges du Bas and du Dessus sections of that cru (one a Gagey family holding), the Jadot 2006 Echezeaux mingles cassis, black cherry, and mint chocolate on a silken-textured, rich, enveloping, almost fat palate. Yet this preserves a sense of lift and elegance as well as invigoration, in part due to the bright sense of fruit freshness and pungency of fruit skin and spice. It displays truly grand cru length and suggests natural-born refinement of a sort Lardiere insists cannot be achieved in the lower sites that ...Read More »
