2006 Domaine Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Jadot 2006 Clos Vougeot – one lot of which was parked in tank for nearly six months while waiting for the other to finally undergo malo – exhibits an unusually dark color for its collection; offers a polished, rich, velvet-textured melange of lightly-cooked black fruits underlain by roasted red meats; and finishes sedately but with memorable savor and length. Lardiere's fears that the wine might end up disjointed have thus proven unfounded, and I suspect that this classic example of top-notch Clos Vougeot will be worth following over the next decade. ...Read More »

2006 Domaine Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru "Clos des Epeneaux" (Pre-Arrival)

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Outstanding* In contrast to the reticence displayed from barrel, now that the '06 is in bottle it is surprisingly open and expressive with a beautifully layered nose of raspberry, cherry and red Pinot fruit nuanced by hints of spice, earth, minerals and a dried herb component that introduces intense, balanced and pure flavors that culminate in a serious, mouth coating and well built finish where the tannins are solid but not rustic or aggressive. This will require the better part of a decade to arrive at its majority as the tannins are quite firm and de ...Read More »

2006 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs" Back In Stock!
2006 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs"

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red. Cool, medicinal, very primary aromas of black cherry and flowers. Then sappy, sweet and backward, with excellent verve to the black fruit, menthol and licorice flavors. This youthfully clenched and serious wine really saturates the palate. Finishes quite long and vibrant, with a mineral spine that calls for extended cellaring. (ST)" (3/2009) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bright black cherry fruit with a distilled overtone, augmented by sweetly pungent brown spices greets the nose from a glass of d'Angerville 2006 Volnay Clos Des Ducs. There is an overt sense of density a ...Read More »

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Joseph (Veronique) Drouhin Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Petits Monts" (93BH, 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is turning out somewhat better than I originally foresaw with its cool, pure and restrained nose that combines notes of various spice and floral elements with those of various red berries and plum scents. There is a really lovely texture to the precise and minerally middle weight flavors that possess outstanding depth and length on the dusty but well-balanced finale. While this beauty could certainly be enjoyed now I would suggest allowing it to slumber untouched for another 5 years or so first." (04/2016)

Of the 2006 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Volnay 1er Cru "Santenots-du-Milieu",Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Good dark red. Subdued nose hints at cherry, flowers and mint, with a suggestion of candied ripeness. Then big, rich and sappy; less obviously sweet today than the Monthelie and the village wine but offers much more dimension. Strong, almost medicinal minerality contributes to this wine's sappiness. The long, youthful finish saturates the palate with flavor. Plenty in reserve here. (ST)" (03/2009)

2006 Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru (95RP, 93BH, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Dujac 2006 Clos de la Roche is a dark, brooding Pinot no less complex or long than its Clos St.-Denis sibling. Here, the animal side is a gamey, faintly sweaty beast; the fruits dark and as bitter as they are sweet; and the sense of chocolate-like richness remarkable in the context of the vintage. And rather than an energetic sense of interplay, this conveys a layering of fruit, meat, and stony, saline mineral elements, supported by tactile viscosity and a sappy sense of almost indelible cling. Lucky are those who can follow and compare both of these wines over the next dozen years. (DS)" (12/2009)

2006 Domaine du Comte Liger Belair Vosne-Romanée
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine du Comte Liger Belair Vosne-Romanée. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Eleven newly-farmed parcels from all over the commune inform Liger-Belair's 2006 Vosne-Romanee, which smells of smoked meat and game mingled, violets and red raspberry. Fresh and delicate in the mouth, with refined tannins though a hint of overtly resinous woodiness, it finishes with tender refreshment and lingering, village-typical floral and animal intrigue. I would plan to enjoy this over the next 3-4 years. (DS)" (12/2009)

2006 Louis Jadot Echezeaux Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From two different estate properties in the Rouges du Bas and du Dessus sections of that cru (one a Gagey family holding), the Jadot 2006 Echezeaux mingles cassis, black cherry, and mint chocolate on a silken-textured, rich, enveloping, almost fat palate. Yet this preserves a sense of lift and elegance as well as invigoration, in part due to the bright sense of fruit freshness and pungency of fruit skin and spice. It displays truly grand cru length and suggests natural-born refinement of a sort Lardiere insists cannot be achieved in the lower sites that ...Read More »

2006 Domaine J-F Mugnier Musigny Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine J-F Mugnier Musigny Grand Cru (96ST, 95BH, 95RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep red with ruby tones. Flamboyantly ripe aromas of black fruits, blood orange, peony and espresso. Huge yet weightless, saturating every square millimeter of the mouth with very ripe dark fruits, minerals and spices. This plush, sweet, extremely unevolved wine is almost monolithic today but the explosive, palate-staining finish suggests that it has a slow and glorious evolution ahead of it. The fruit here was picked with potential alcohol of 13.7%, the same as in 2005. 96+ Points" (04/2009)
