2006 Louis Jadot Grands Echézeaux Grand Cru

91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A very spicy nose evidences notes of clove, anise, soy and smoke as well as blue fruit and violet aromas, all trimmed in generous wood that can also be found on the rich, full, detailed, lush and layered big-bodied flavors that are more powerful than those of the Ech and exhibit an intensity that does a slow but sure build to an explosive finish. I like this a lot as the quality of the raw materials is first rate and while it's presently carrying more wood than I can get excited about, it shouldn't be a problem absorbing it in time." (4/2008) 91-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. K ...Read More »

2006 Domaine Louis Jadot Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the aromas are reticent, even brooding and considerable swirling is required to coax the cool red berry fruit and earth notes to reveal themselves. The moderately structured and intensely mineral flavors are exceptionally pure and attractively textured and I really like the finishing energy as this is as vibrant on the finish as the nose is quiet. Classy and sophisticated but austere and this is definitely built to age as even with extended airing, the structure remains very firm." (4/2009)

2006 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru (94BH, 94JS, 94RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Mint, concentrated red and black fruits, smoked meat, and black pepper pungently scent the De Vogue 2006 Bonnes Mares. These migrate with almost implosive intensity to a palate lushly textured though finely tannic and almost implacably dense yet shot through with electric energy. Here are both the caressing and invigorating aspects at once present in so many of the best 2006s, each accentuated. Like so many young wines of its appellation, this is relatively backward and slightly unruly, but the longer the wine takes on air the more both its senses of richness and energy are enhanced. 2006 Domaine de Montille Volnay 1er Cru "Taillepieds"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine de Montille Volnay 1er Cru "Taillepieds" ((90-92BH), (90-91RP), 91WS, 90ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Sweet Spot Outstanding* Historically, this may be the most under rated wine in the de Montille portfolio with its ripe, airy and ultra pure nose of mineral-suffused red pinot fruit that is in perfect keeping with the finely detailed, layered and firm medium-bodied flavors that are sweet, fresh and vibrant, all wrapped in a youthfully austere finish that exudes that wonderful quality of underlying tension. Terrific." (04/2008)

2006 Domaine Bruno Clair Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Bruno Clair Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (95RP, 94WS, 93ST, 92BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Smoky black tea, rose petals, dark berries, and licorice waft seductively (and site-typically) from the glass of Clair 2006 Chambertin Clos De Beze. Seamlessly-rich and refined in tannins, this offers a gorgeous layering of flavors anchored in clean meatiness and suggestions of stoniness and crystalline minerality that carry no sense of austerity. While missing the remarkable dynamic of the Clos St.-Jacques, in its own way this supremely elegant, intriguingly-nuanced, and memorably persistent Pinot is a model for the vintage and of its great site's potential year in, year out. Plan to give it 3-4 years of rest before savoring it for the 6-8 that follow. (DS)" (12/2009)

2006 Domaine Louis Jadot Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru

91-93 points from Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full red. Sexy, soil-driven nose offers musky cinnamon spice, herbs, iron and minerals. Creamy-sweet and rich, with highly complex flavors of smoky redcurrant, tobacco, iron and minerals. Finishes with much lusher, suaver tannins than the Griottes or Charmes, along with an intriguing flinty minerality." Allen Meadows writes: "An exceptionally pure and high-toned lacy, even airy nose is set off by a deft touch of wood that precedes the cooler and slightly more precise rich and round flav... 2006 Domaine Sylvain Cathiard Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Aux Thorey"
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Sylvain Cathiard Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Aux Thorey" (91BH, 91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Red fruit aromas of cherry, redcurrant and raspberry lifted by a floral element. Supple and suave on entry, then seamless in the middle, with floral and mineral notes giving the wine excellent life in the mouth. A bit less obviously sweet toward the back, finishing with substantial dusty tannins." (03/2009)

2006 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Saint Georges"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Saint Georges" (93BH, 93RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Gouges 2006 Nuits-St.-Georges Les St.-Georges evinces a sweet, liqueur-like concentration of blackberry and cherry, yet manages to retain a lovely suggestion of fresh fruit as well that is unexpected given the headiness and suggestive richness to its aromas. A clean meatiness underlies the lush fruit. There is plenty of tannin here but it is so refined – and the fruit so sweetly concentrated – that one has to attend closely to notice it, and the textural impression is one of silken refinement. This finishes exhilaratingly and with even greater persistence than the Vaucrains, although it doesn't for now displays as much detail or that wine's remarkable sense of mineral presence. It would be a shame to break open many bottles of this for the next 3-4 years, as it has probably got at least a dozen years' potential. " (12/2009)

2006 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Bousselots"

88-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A gentle touch of wood spice sets off slightly riper but still very fresh blue and black berry aromas that dissolve into silky and elegant flavors that possess firm structure on the balanced and notably stylish finish. Lovely." (1/2008) 91 points Wine Spectator: "A feral character overlays the pure cherry, red currant and mineral notes in this slim, intense red. Persistent and firmly structured, with lingering fruit and spice accents on the aftertaste. Just needs a few years to come together. Best from 2011 through 2020." (12/2008) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Chevillon 2006 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Bousselots m ...Read More »

2006 Drouhin-Laroze Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Drouhin-Laroze Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru ((91-93BH), 92WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Don't Miss!* Here there is more aromatic breadth with a pure and enveloping nose that combines red and blue Pinot fruit plus lovely floral notes, particularly violet, before introducing rich, full and serious flavors that are detailed, fresh, powerful and distinctly austere on the impressively deep and long finish. This is a really lovely Bonnes Mares that offers a bit more elegance than normal but plenty of taut muscle as well." (01/2008)

2006 Domaine Faiveley Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Faiveley Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru ((92-95BH), 91ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the wood is decidedly more discreet with reserved and layered earthy and slightly animale red, blue and violet aromas that introduce delicious, intense and strikingly powerful flavors that are sleekly muscled and possess serious weight and length. Despite the sheer size however, this delivers its punch with both style and grace and I found this to possess simply huge potential. Highly recommended but note that this is crafted in the classic Faiveley old school style and will require as much as two decades to reach its apogee." (01/2008)
