2006 Domaine Bouchard Père & Fils Le Corton Grand Cru

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Don't Miss!* A reserved and relatively cool nose of wild red berries, game, underbrush and crushed herbs introduces earthy, intense and impressively broad scaled and powerful flavors that are dense, balanced and vibrant and really stain the palate on the explosively long finish that is youthfully austere. A stunner that should age beautifully well." (4/2008) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Corton is the largest grand cru in Burgundy (all of 240 acres) and its style can vary widely. Bouchard has gone for a relatively soft style, emphasizing fruits, raspberry, myrtle and black currants, t ...Read More »

2006 Domaine Jacques Prieur Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru

93-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Prieur 2006 Corton Bressandes – while picked first – hit the highest level of natural alcohol at this address for the vintage, nearly 13.5%. Blackberry, lingonberry, mint, iodine, black tea, and hints of Demararra brown sugar combine for a winsome nose. Superb concentration of bitter-sweet fruits, herbs, pepper, and mineral shadings inform an expansive vividly juicy and primary-fruited, yet also palpably dense and firm palate. The staining and invigorating intensity of finish here by no means precluded lift and sheer refreshment. Plan on giving it a ...Read More »

2006 Domaine Francois Parent Volnay 1er Cru "Les Fremiets"

Wine Spectator: "A powerful red, with ripe cherry, red currant and beefy tannins to match. A bit dry in the end, with a spicy aftertaste. It's a race between the fruit and tannins over time. (BS, Web-2009)" K&L Notes: Francois Parent's father was one of the first vignerons in Burgundy to begin bottling as a domaine, rather than simply selling off his wine in bulk to the local negotiants. His mother helped in marketing the wines, traveling throughout Europe as one of the first grower/producers, pioneering a boutique trend that has become much more normalized today. Francois has contin... Read More »

2006 Nicolas Potel Clos Vougeot Grand Cru

91-94 and Don't Miss! from Allen Meadows: "Moderate wood spice frames mostly red berry fruit aromas that display intense earth and underbrush notes that continue onto the big, broad-shouldered and amply concentrated flavors blessed with plenty of dry extract that buffers the very firm tannins on the structured and notably powerful finish that delivers superb length. This is a big but balanced bruiser of an effort with more than a touch of the classic youthful Clos de Vougeot austerity." (Burghound, 01/08) When tasted in March, this was tannic, masculine... 2006 Domaine Dujac Morey-St-Denis

Allen Meadows writes: "Moderate reduction knocks down the nose though earthy dark berry fruit aromas are able to escape the funk though the rich, full and serious flavors are expressive, concentrated and textured with firm if not aggressive structure on the nicely long finish." 2006 Louis Jadot Grand Cru Chapelle Chambertin

93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Pungent red berries, rose petal, gingerbread and musky underbrush on the nose, with a sappy suggestion of raspberry liqueur emerging with air. Silky and light on its feet, with penetrating red berry and spice flavors given energy on the back end by powerful minerality and captivating floral lift. The liqueur-like raspberry quality seemed to come and go as I drained this bottle to the dregs over a period of 48 hours. Has the tannic spine to support a leisurely evolution in bottle." (3/2009) 92 points John Gilman: "The 2006 Chapelle-Chambertin was showing quite well at ...Read More »

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Estournelles St-Jacques" (91BH, 91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium red. Sexy, pungent aromas of cherry, raspberry, dried flowers and minerals, with lower-pitched notes of smoke, earth and woodsmoke. Silky-sweet but vibrant and delicate, with wonderfully detailed flavors of red berries, flowers and minerals. This juicy, highly aromatic wine already delivers considerable complexity. Finishes with dusty tannins, uncompromising dryness and enticing lingering perfume." (04/2009)

2006 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes (96BH, 96RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Francois Millet thinks that there is considerable latent structure as well as aging potential in all of the De Vogue 2006s, and with the 2006 Musigny Vieilles Vignes both are evident. Diverse jellied berries, citrus oils, and floral perfumes indeed seductively fill the nose, and then flood a seamlessly refined palate. At the same time, a sense of chalky and saline minerality as well as marrowy meatiness mount into the finish, taking on further prominence as the wine opens to the air. On the one hand you feel as though you are watching the wafting of clouds of fruit and perfume; on the other the motion of tectonic plates beneath your palate. This superb Musigny is going to be a great source of metaphors over the next 15 or more years, and one could do worse than start with the familiar iron fist wrapped in velvet, because it fits this wine like

2006 Domaine Bruno Clair Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Cazetiers"

91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This pretty effort is evolving somewhat more slowly than I originally envisioned though it is not so tight and structured that it could not be enjoyed now if desired. There is an all but invisible touch of wood framing the earthy and moderately sauvage red and dark berry fruit nose that leads to solidly concentrated and mineral-infused medium-bodied flavors that possess good phenolic maturity as the tannins are still firm but well-integrated and ripe. The robust and relatively powerful finish delivers fine length and about the only nit is a hint of backe ...Read More »

2006 Domaine Bizot Echézeaux Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Bizot Echézeaux Grand Cru ((90-92BH), 92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Musky floral and animal scents, high-toned kirsch and framboise, and sea breeze salinity and alkalinity lend Bizot's 2006 Echezeaux (from the les Orveaux section of that cru, high above Clos Vougeot) far and away the most intriguing nose in his current collection. Brightly-fruited on the palate, with its berry-tart edge serving for considerable invigoration, this exhibits an uncanny suggestion of caramelized, fruit-filled pastry, yet at the same time a lovely sense of transparency to persistent floral, mineral, and animal nuances. This should be worth following for at least a decade. (DS)" (12/2009)

2006 Domaine Arlaud Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Arlaud Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru ((90-92BH), 91ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Surprisingly, this is almost as elegant with its strikingly pretty red pinot fruit aromas that possess fine density and this sense of concentration can also be found on the complex, supple and balanced flavors supported by a finely textured finish where the tannins arrive in a rush at the finish. This seems almost soft at first but the firm finish dispels the notion that this will be an early drinker." (01/2008)

2006 Domaine Hudelot-Noellat Richebourg Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine Hudelot-Noellat Richebourg Grand Cru (94BH, (92-94VN)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Initially this was somewhat like the 2006 RSV as the nose was reduced though unlike the RSV the reduction rapidly blew off to reveal an intensely spicy and layered dark berry fruit nose that remains entirely primary and youthful. There is excellent intensity to the tautly muscular, cool and mineral-inflected big-boned flavors that are supported by a firm tannic spine on the powerfully long and driving finish. This highly promising effort is still very much on the way up and should age beautifully for years." (04/2015)
