2013 La Chablisienne Chablis 1er Cru "Côte de Léchet" Top Pick!
2013 La Chablisienne Chablis 1er Cru "Côte de Léchet"

90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Once again there is plenty of smoky reduction to the citrus and floral-suffused nose that is so transparent that you can easily sense the minerality. There is excellent intensity to the racy, stony and energetic flavors that are bit finer and more complex and this really shows on the lingering finale." (10/2015)

The palate has a very strong fruity expression with an oily depth and harmony and very impressive length.. All the pieces of the Chablis puzzle are in place here." (6/2016) 92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As is usually the case this is more elegant, particularly on the floral and white orchard fruit suffused nose that is nuanced by plenty of classic Chablis elements and in particular mineral reduction. 2015 Domaine de Biéville (Louis Moreau) Chablis Top Pick!
2015 Domaine de Biéville (Louis Moreau) Chablis

Domaine de Biéville was established by Jean-Jacques Moreau in the village of Viviers in the 1970s. The contiguous, 65-hectare vineyard was selected for its textbook truffières soil terroir and south/southwest exposure which resembles the premier cru classified vineyards of Chablis. Now with 45+ year old vines, Domaine de Biéville produces a textured and classically styled Chablis which shows its old vine pedigree on a complex and mineral-driven finish.

2015 Domaine Gerard Tremblay Chablis Vieilles Vignes

Vinous: "Very pale yellow. Ripe aromas of pear, stone fruits and spices. A step up in clarity from the basic village offering but still with a slight alcoholic warmth to its restrained yellow fruit flavors. I wanted more flavor authority and cut. Very much a wine of its vintage. (ST)" (7/2016) K&L Notes: Gerard Tremblay is officially en retrait, although his retirement is like that of many growers in that he continues to work, both in the vineyards and the cellar. 2014 La Chablisienne "La Sereine" Chablis

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Chablis la Sereine has a crisp, mineral, gypsum-scented bouquet that unfurls nicely in the glass but remains rather aloof. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, rounded in texture, but still fresh with a hint of clear honey and peach towards the long finish. This is quite stylish, if just missing a little complexity compared to its peers. There is terrific energy to the refined, detailed and saline-inflected medium-bodied flavors where an intense minerality adds lift to the clean, dry and overtly austere finish. This is classier than the Fourchaume though not more complex or persistent." There is good concentration to the relatively powerful medium-bodied flavors that possess good intensity on the extract-rich finish where a hint of bitter lemon arrives just at the last. This is really quite good for its level and should drink well both young and after a few years of bottle age." The intensely stony middle weight flavors possess excellent cut and punch before concluding in a citrus and saline-inflected finale." (6/2016)

2014 Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin Chablis-Blanchot Grand Cru

95 points Decanter: "Notes of wild flowers and mandarin with a tense, focused texture and mineral finish. Elegant and amazingly pure. (GB)" (2/2016) 91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "It would be all but impossible to mistake this for anything other than Chablis with its array of classic elements that include oyster shell, iodine, tidal pool and citrus nuances. There is impressive richness for the terroir with its full-bodied mid-palate and sappy mouth coating finale that seems to be built on a base of firm minerality. I very much like this impeccably well-balanced effort." (10/2015) 91-93 points Vinous: "Pale yellow-green. Very pure ...Read More »

2015 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru "Domaine Les Lys" (Pre-Arrival)

89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A notably more elegant, and airy, nose features notes of lemon rind, seaweed and shellfish hints that can also be found on the ultra-refined, pure and delineated lighter weight flavors that possess a lilting mouth feel while offering fine length on the notably dry finish. This isn't super complex but it is both lovely and very Les Lys." (8/2016) 91-92 points Vinous: "(the crop level here was just 30 hectoliters per hectare from these virused 55-to-60-year-old vines planted in shallow, rocky, Kimmeridgian calcaire and marne soil on a slope facing north/northwest): Clear, pale ye ...Read More »

2014 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Bougros "Côte de Bougerots" (Pre-Arrival)

96 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Once again, based on the nose alone, this could be nothing else but Chablis with its mélange of tidal pool, mineral reduction, citrus blossom and discreet spice nuances. There is fantastic detail to the focused, mineral-driven and powerful middle weight plus flavors that do a slow build from the mid-palate all the way back to the explosively long, balanced and bone dry finish. This appears to be drawn directly from liquid Kimmeridgian and should also amply reward longer-term cellaring. In a word, brilliant." (10/2016) 95 points Vinous: "Very pale yellow. Very ripe but vibran ...Read More »

2011 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos"

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As it was from cask last year this remains quite closed but aggressive swirling liberates ripe aromas of sea breeze, pear, lemon rind, oyster shell and mineral reduction plus an abundance of typical floral scents. The large-scaled flavors are overtly powerful and impressively concentrated as there is plenty of palate staining dry extract that also buffers the very firm acidity that supports and shapes the gorgeously precise finish. This explosively long effort possesses exquisite balance and the tightly wound flavors are going to need at least 5 to 7 yea ...Read More »

2013 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Bougros "Côte de Bougerots"

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is perennially one of my favorite wines and one that I buy virtually every vintage. The 2013 version displays a deft touch of oak that again is sufficiently subtle as to allow the ripe and very fresh white and yellow orchard fruit, sea breeze and iodine scents to shine. There is excellent punch as well as fine detail to the almost aggressively mineral-driven flavors that possess good power but also a lovely sense of refinement on the wonderfully long and impeccably well-balanced finish. Exquisite." (10/2015) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros Côte Bou ...Read More »

2002 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" (95ST, 94BH, 94RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Very pale, green-tinged color. Reticent, somewhat reduced, soil-driven aromas of crushed stone, petrol and lime blossom. Extremely primary today, but already hinting at great incipient complexity, with notes of talc, citrus skin, white flowers and white pepper. Dense and fat with sheer extract; a real mouthful of liquid minerals. Superconcentrated, seamless and penetrating. 95+ (ST)" (07/2004)

2014 Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos"

According to Stephen Tanzer, writing for Vinous.com: "I always look forward to visiting Benoit Droin's airplane hangar-like winery on the edge of town because it's a chilly respite from early-June heat in Chablis. But this year he was heating the large tank room because most of the 2014 malolactic fermentations had not yet finished. In fact, several wines were not ready to be tasted, although I had a quick look at the portion of each that was aging in barrel. Some early impressions: ...the Clos boasted compelling aromas of orange peel, ginger and vanilla... Read More »
