2015 Maison William Fèvre Chablis "Champs Royaux"

91 points James Suckling: "Bright and vivid aromas of sliced limes, green apples and stones. Medium-bodied, round and savory. Some gun-powder undertones. Lovely fruit and drinkability. All about the nose with this wine." (4/2017) 90 points Wine Spectator: "A stony undertow keeps the ripe peach, lime and floral flavors grounded in this white. Offers fine complexity and length, with a citrusy aftertaste. Drink now through 2020. (BS)" (2/2017) Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The composition of the aromas is largely the same though here the nose is slightly more complex. Once again there is fine volume and richness to the textured middle weight f ...Read More »

2016 Domaine de Biéville (Louis Moreau) Chablis Top Pick!
2016 Domaine de Biéville (Louis Moreau) Chablis

Domaine de Biéville was established by Jean-Jacques Moreau in the village of Viviers in the 1970s. The contiguous, 65-hectare vineyard was selected for its textbook truffières soil terroir and south/southwest exposure which resembles the premier cru classified vineyards of Chablis. Now with 45+ year old vines, Domaine de Biéville produces a textured and classically styled Chablis which shows its old vine pedigree on a complex and mineral-driven finish.

2014 La Chablisienne Chablis "La Sereine" Top Pick!
2014 La Chablisienne Chablis "La Sereine"

Decanter: "Taut and focused with a restrained cooked apple and pear nose and a multi-layered grapefruit and stone fruit palate." (5/2017) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Chablis la Sereine has a crisp, mineral, gypsum-scented bouquet that unfurls nicely in the glass but remains rather aloof. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, rounded in texture, but still fresh with a hint of clear honey and peach towards the long finish. This is quite stylish, if just missing a little complexity compared to its peers. (NM)" (8/2016) Wine Enthusiast: "This is a rich style of Chablis that has the crispness of 2014 ...Read More »

2014 La Chablisienne Chablis "Les Venerables" Vieilles Vignes

90 points Decanter: "Yellow citrus married with some exotic hints of mango. Pure, tensile and edgy with bright acids and good grip on the moderate finish." (5/2017) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Bringing together old vines from a number of the Chablisienne cooperative's vineyards, this wine is concentrated and finely structured. Its rich creamed apple and tangy orange zest flavors are lit by acidity and a mineral edge. Drink from 2018. 2014 Domaine Samuel Billaud Petit Chablis

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A notably reserved nose only grudgingly gives up whispers of green fruit and sea breeze hints. There is ample intensity and vibrancy to the utterly delicious and mineral-driven flavors that terminate in a notably dry and ever-so-mildly austere finish. This should be very good for its level." (10/2015) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Petit Chablis Sur les Clos comes from vines planted by Billaud's father and is shared with Faiveley (Domaine Billaud Simon). This one is fresh and bright, all fruit without wood aging. Touches of melon back up the red-apple flavors. The aftertaste is still young, so this wine will be best from 2017. (RV)" (5/2016) 90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is reasonably good Chablis character to the fresh aromas of iodine, oyster shell and green apple. 2015 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru "Vaulorent"

Peach, apple and vanilla flavors play out on the long, smoky finish. (BS)" (3/2017) 94 points Decanter: "Lively appley nose that is fresh, vibrant and elegant. With a fresh, silky attack, the palate is very elegant. This has purity and texture, with less power than some other crus but a stylish, citric finish. Best from 2018 through 2028. 300 cases imported. *Highly Recommended* (BS)" (11/2016) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru les Clos is very impressive from the word go: crisp limestone scents, apple blossom and just a touch of smoke. This isn't super complex but it is both lovely and very Les Lys." (8/2016) 91 points Decanter: "Rich nose of white peach that is generous and open. Juicy, minty and nicely delineated, offering good intensity to its citrus fruit flavors. Viennois finds this wine less strict but more complex than the 2014 version. (ST)" (7/2016)

2014 Val de Mer Chablis

Val de Mer is a project from Chablis' rising star vigneron Patrick Piuze. Originally from Québec, Piuze has made wine at some of Chablis greatest estates--Olivier Leflaive, La Maison Verget and Jean-Marc Brocard. His winemaking style is traditional, with as little manipulation as possible in order to let the purity and vibrancy inherent in the fruit to shine through. His AOC Chablis is fresh and clean, with bright green apple and lemony citrus aromas and flavors underpinned by classic Chablis chalky minerality. A perfect partner to crab.

I like the textured mouth feel to the round and relatively forward mid-palate of the medium-bodied flavors that possess fine depth and positively huge length on the citrus-inflected finale. This exceptionally promising effort is also going to need a few years of cellaring to develop but it should be terrific in time." 2007 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Valmur"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Valmur" (95RP, 94BH, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The first grapes picked from the marl-rich upper portion of this site near Vaudesir, Fevre’s 2007 Chablis Valmur nonetheless displays (as in 2006) a dramatically different personality from their Vaudesir. Fresh lime, red currant, tangerine, grapefruit, and peony mingle in a Riesling-like effusion of fruit and flower, underlain by a salty and iodine-tinged mineral soup that seems as deep as the sea. Soundings reveal citrus zest, fruit pits, kelp, pine resin, and oyster shells. This should be an almost inexhaustible source of intrigue and pleasure over the coming decade. You’ll never get to the bottom of it, but so much the better for you and the wine! Fine as the 2006 was, this 2007 seems to illustrate the extent to which slow ripening, high extract, and bright acids best complement Valmur’s inherent character. (DS)" (12/2009)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Iris, narcissus, peony, heliotrope, lemon, white peach, and litchi combine for the knockout nose of Raveneau’s 2008 Chablis Montee de Tonnerre. Uncannily combining a sense of textural richness, underlying extract, and decisively stony, alkaline, chalky, oyster shell minerality that go beyond its fellow premier crus in this collection. Yet this preserves a vintage-typical core of primary juiciness that helps convey lip-smacking appeal. Musky, sweet floral notes cling to the prodigiously long, expansive, finish of this almost certainly relatively un-evolved wine.
