2006 Launois "Spécial Club" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (ships as 1.5L) Top Pick!
2006 Launois "Spécial Club" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (ships as 1.5L)

Our staff loved the 2005--"Wow this is decadent Champagne!" pretty much sums up the rave reviews--and we're excited now to offer the 2006. We began importing the Champagnes of Launois about a decade ago, though we haven't been able to promote them properly because our allocations were very tight. Fortunately for us, Bernard Launois has decided to export more! Champagne Launois' wines are highly sought after, so much so, in fact, that we've sold their Champagne to Champenois who can't get it at home! Bernard Launois does things differently than the rest o... Read More »

2009 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Champagne

97 points Decanter: "Long lingering finish. A great and supremely elegant Champagne. (ME)" (10/2016) 97 points James Suckling: "A very rich and full-bodied Cristal that harks back to 2006 or 1989 in style. It's round and rich, which underlies the ripeness of the vintage. Lots of dried-apple and pineapple character with bread dough and flan flavors. The bubbles are so fine you almost don't notice them. Very vinous style. Drink now." 2006 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne Top Pick!
2006 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne

97 points Vinous: "The 2006 Dom Pérignon is a beautifully balanced, harmonious Dom Pérignon that strikes an incredibly appealing stylistic middle ground. Rich, voluptuous and creamy, the 2006 shows off fabulous intensity in a style that brings together the ripeness of 2002 with the greater sense of verve and overall freshness that is such a signature of the 2004. Bass notes and a feeling of phenolic grip on the finish recall the 2003, as the Pinot Noir is particularly expressive today. 2005 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne Top Pick!
2005 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne

97 points James Suckling: "I believe that the 2005 DP is the best since 2002, which remains the best recent vintage and is probably only eclipsed by the amazing 100-point 1996. The 2005 is a full-bodied DP with so much richness and loads of ripe fruit such as pineapple and papaya. It has a wonderful, creamy texture and a long and intense finish. It’s a Champagne that fully satisfies but at the same time challenges you with its strength, depth and persistence on the palate." (RV)" (12/2014) 93 points Vinous: "The 2008 Brut races across the palate with gorgeous depth and resonance. Dried pear, spice, mint, anise and wild flowers meld together in the glass. If you are looking for a great deal on vintage Champagne that is ready to drink now, this is a great choice. 2010 Louis Roederer Brut Rosé Champagne

96 points Wine & Spirits: "Roederer invested in a separate winery to produce its rosé, the facility completed in 2007, taking its classic saignée method wines to a new level. An estate-grown blend of pinot noir from the clay soils of Cumières with chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs, this is an extraordinary vintage of Roederer Rosé. It’s a lithe wine, compelling for its precision rather than for any stylized complexity. In fact, it feels simple, naked, capturing the freshness of the grapes in pale pink energy. 2009 Egrot (formerly Elisabeth Goutorbe) Brut Grand Cru Champagne Top Pick!
2009 Egrot (formerly Elisabeth Goutorbe) Brut Grand Cru Champagne

This Champagne used to be called Elisabeth Goutorbe. Elisabeth changed the name over to her married name Egrot when she and her husband moved out of her parents facility in Ay, and into their own. This 100% Ay grand cru Champagne is composed of 2/3 Pinot Noir and 1/3 Chardonnay, all from the family estate. Although the Champagne has no dosage whatsoever, it is still full and rich. It has a great nose of baguette toast, cream and some of that famous Ay chalk. The finish is long, clean and very dry, but not too strict. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)

Rich, powerful and enveloping, the 2007 takes hold of all the senses and never lets up. 2008 Bruno Michel "Les Brousses" 1er Cru Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne

This gem of a blanc de blancs is in fact a single-vineyard wine from the "Les Brousses" parcel in the Premier Cru village of Pierry, immediately to the south of Epernay. The vineyard is a massal selection (not made from cloned vines) that was planted in 1964. It is given full barrel fermentation in old oak. He only makes wine from half of the grapes he brings in, selling the rest off to negociants--his production is just one thousand cases a year total. This tiny scale allows Alex to do nearly everything himself and this hands on approach shows through in the finished product. He only uses his own estate fruit for his Champagne, and although small, it is diverse. He farms 22 plots in eight different villages. Among these are the oldest vines that I hav... Read More »

2008 Bruno Michel "Les Roses" Brut Rosé Champagne

This fantastic Champagne comes from the villages of Pierry and Moussy in the sud-Epernay sub-region of Champagne. Bruno Michel has been organic since 1999. A saignée rosé, this elegant bubbly was made by a very short cuvaison of Pinot Meunier. Spicy and full-bodied, it is a great example of a sparkling wine that can be enjoyed with dinner, even red meat!

2006 Fluteau "Symbiose" Brut Champagne

90 points Wine Spectator: "A lithe version from 2006, with a floral overtone, a lively bead and a subtle range of green melon, ground anise and star fruit flavors. A hint of smoke lingers on the clean-cut finish. Drink now through 2021. (Web-2015, AN)" K&L Notes: Made entirely from estate-grown fruit, the Symbiose is composed of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir from Gye-Sur-Seine in the southernmost part of Champagne. This wine is so clean, subtle and balanced that it will be finished before you know it. I think that is embodies all the best traits of this very good vintage; it is vibrant, pu... Read More »

2008 Alexandre Le Brun "Cuvée Dilection" Brut Rose Champagne Top Pick!
2008 Alexandre Le Brun "Cuvée Dilection" Brut Rose Champagne

Alexandre Le Brun is a young winemaker from Monthelon in the Ardenne (Marne) region of Champagne. He is a 9th generation winemaker. His family established themselves in Champagne in 1750 and their cellars were built in 1822. The delectable Dilection is based on the incredible 2008 vintage with 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier. Only French oak is used and the vineyard where the grapes are sourced was planted in 1902. It is rich but, classically dry with dark cherry and strawberry fruit on the finish, which lingers. (Scott Beckerley, K&L)

2004 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne

97 points Vinous: "A Champagne of crystalline precision, the 2004 Dom Pérignon once again shows off its pedigree and total class. Everything about the 2004 speaks to nuance. The flavors are bright and lifted throughout, but it is the wine's lithe, gracious shape that stands out most. Pear, slate, white flowers, sage and crushed rocks abound in a Dom Pérignon built on cool, brisk energy. Today, the 2004 is simply dazzling, with plenty of upside for the future. (AG)" (10/2015) 96 points James Suckling: "A return to regular form after the wild 2003 edition, this is business as usual in terms of the compo ...Read More »
