2014 Gundlach Bundschu "Mountain Cuvée" Sonoma County Red Blend

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Mountain Cuvee is a blend of 56% Merlot, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Malbec and 1% Petite Verdot. Deep garnet purple in color, it is scented of ripe plums, black currants, spice box and dried Mediterranean herbs. The full-bodied palate provides plenty of mouth-filling black fruit and spice flavors, with velvety tannins and ample freshness, leading to a long, relatively uncomplicated finish. Great value! (LPB)" (2/2017) Wine Enthusiast: "This hearty blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller amounts of Malbec and Petit Verdot is a great go-to wine for a crow ...Read More »

2014 Louis M. Martini Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the best values in Cabernet Sauvignon anywhere in the world remains Louis Martini’s Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County (89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot and the rest Petite Sirah, Cabernet Franc and other varieties) is just a beautiful wine. Dense ruby/purple with classic tobacco leaf, blackcurrant, loamy soil notes and a touch of wood spice, this wine (aged 16 months in French and American oak) has relatively modest alcohol for Cabernets these days (13.5%), and what’s even more remarkable is that there are 408,0 ...Read More »

91 points James Suckling: "This is dense yet fresh and lively with ripe currant, plum and dried mushroom character. Medium to full body, crisp and delicious. Real Napa at a solid price. Drink now." (6/2016) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Olema offers plenty of value in an elegant, tasty, cedary, blackcurrant-scented and flavored wine that has good concentration, light tannin and a tasty, savory mouthfeel. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. This winery has a large and varied portfolio of wines, including their four value picks, which consumers need to notice. (RP)" (12/2016) K&L Notes: Olema is ... 2014 Olema Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points James Suckling: "A fresh and linear Sonoma cabernet with currant, berry and cherry. Medium body, firm and silky tannins. Excellent wine for the money. Go-to cab for the buck." (5/2017) K&L Notes: James Suckling calls this his go-to Cab for the money, and we couldn't agree more. As the winery explains, "the 2014 Olema Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes hand selected off vineyards in Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys in Sonoma County. This will most likely develop fast. Drink 2017-2024." Wine Spectator: "Offers minty bay leaf aromas and flavors, with dry, grippy tannins and a mix of gravelly dark berry notes, ending clean and cedary. Drink now. 2013 Pied á Terre Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

Richard Luftig worked 20+ years in NYC as a professional wine buyer. His winery, Pied á Terre (foot to earth) was born out of his love for wine and his frustration at not being able to find an affordable, high quality Cabernet from California. Truly a labor of love, Richards says, "It is not a path easily traveled. I am not producing Pied à Terre for financial gain. Rather, I am doing so because nothing is more satisfying than introducing wine lovers to a great bottle of wine, and one that is also very reasonably priced. This is both my vocation as a w... 2005 Chateau St. Jean "Cinq Cepages" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

Robert Parker: "The medium to full-bodied, dark ruby/purple-tinged 2005 Cinq Cepages Proprietary Red Wine (83% Cabernet Sauvignon) reveals a certain austerity along with complex notes of roasted herbs, sweet red and black currants, and a dusty, loamy character. It will benefit from another year or so of bottle age, and should keep for 10 years." (12/2008)

2013 Louis M. Martini "Monte Rosso Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An absolutely outrageous wine and probably one of the great all-time Cabernet Sauvignons from Sonoma is the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Monte Rosso Vineyard Sonoma Valley. This is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the relatively recent Moon Mountain AVA, that aged for 27 months in 67% new French and 14 % new American oak. 2014 Kokomo "Cuveé" Sonoma County Red Blend

It shows a peek into each variety's personality, luxuriating in black pepper, leather, meat and black jam, with a juicy lushness to the palate." (3/2017) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cuvée is a proprietary red blend and has a dense ruby/purple color, loads of sweet black cherry and blackcurrant fruits, and a nice whiff of oak and spice box. It’s beautifully clean and dry, with sound currant, blackberry, herb tea and cedar flavors, but is missing a certain fatness in the middle." (6/2010) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Cinq Cepages (in this vintage, truly a Cabernet Sauvignon rather than a proprietary red as it is a blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot) possesses soft, sed ...Read More »

It delights in luxuriously bright acidity and a jammy explosion of blackberry, chocolate, clove and tobacco, the texture roundly approachable. (VB)" (12/2016) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Counterpoint gives youthful notes of crushed blackberries and black currants with hints of cedar and dried herbs. 2012 Laurel Glen Sonoma Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a small cuvée of only 1,006 cases harvested October 6-15, 2012. The wine was aged in 50% new French oak. The history of the site is ancient, with vines having first been planted in the 1880s. Beautiful blueberry and blackberry fruit jump from the glass of this dense ruby/purple wine. Full-bodied and ripe with sweet tannin, terrific lushness and beautiful purity and density, this is a super-strong effort from Laurel Glen. 1996 Chateau St. Jean "Cinq Cépages" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Wine Spectator: "Few things in wine are as frustrating as experiencing difficulties with a great bottling that you’re long on. That’s been the case for me with the 1996 Chateau St. Jean Cinq Cépages, Wine Spectator’s Wine of the Year in 1999. With a 95-point rating, 11,000 cases made and a $28 price tag, it was one of the easier picks we’ve made over the years. Since this Sonoma County wine was so delicious and readily available, I bought two cases so I could share the wine experience with friends as often as possible. 2013 Arrowood Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

91 points Vinous: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon (Knights Valley), all Knights Valley fruit in this vintage, is superb. Raspberry jam, spice, scorched earth, rose petal, cloves and new leather are some of the signatures. Knights Valley is often noted for Graves-like sense of gravel-infused minerality, naturally allied to a California expression of fruit. That is exactly what readers will find in the 2013. 1989 B.R. Cohn "Olive Hill" Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

89 points Robert Parker: "When comparing 1989 and 1988, the two so-so vintages for North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon, the 1989s are significantly better. Here is an example of a top notch 1989 that just falls short of being profound. The color is an opaque deep ruby/purple and the nose offers up a classic combination of cassis, spices, herbs, and toasty new oak. In the mouth, there is wonderful intensity, medium to full-bodied richness, soft tannins, fine depth, and excellent length. Approachable now, this wine should easily age for a decade." (06/92)

2014 Arnot-Roberts "Clajeux Vineyard" Chalk Hill Cabernet Sauvignon

94 points Vinous: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Clajeux Vineyard offers striking purity in its aromatics and flavors. Bright red stone fruit, flowers, chalk, mint and a host of ferrous notes are all pushed forward. Tense and slightly nervous on the palate, with terrific energy, the Clajeux captures all the signatures that make Chalk Hill Cabernets so distinctive. I imagine the 2014 will be slow to unwind. Even today, though, it is very attractive. Arnot-Roberts fans will note a few changes to the range this year. Sadly, there is no Legan Pinot Noir in 2015, as there was ess ...Read More »

Bid on this bottle of 2004 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma/Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 95WE, 94CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The two flagship wines of this brilliant estate, which straddles the Sonoma and Napa county lines at the top of Spring Mountain, include the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot). Sixty-eight percent of the fruit comes from Sonoma and 32% from Napa. It exhibits classic notes of creme de cassis, licorice, cedarwood, incense and a hint of toasty oak in the background. Full-bodied, opulent, profound deep, rich and full with velvety edges, the tannin can be detected, but it is wonderfully integrated in this mountain-styled Cabernet.
