2013 Kenwood "Jack London Vineyard" Sonoma Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (Previously $30.00)

92 points Decanter: "Broad, soft and generous in style, but also a tad soupy. Violets and vanilla meld together on top of subtle leather notes, restrained plum and forest floor. This will most likely develop fast. Drink 2017-2024." Wine Spectator: "Offers minty bay leaf aromas and flavors, with dry, grippy tannins and a mix of gravelly dark berry notes, ending clean and cedary. Drink now. (Web Only, 2016)" K&L Notes: Our team adored this Cabernet when tasting the 2013 release and it has quickly become a favorite from this treasured Northern California vintage. 2014 Louis M. Martini Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the best values in Cabernet Sauvignon anywhere in the world remains Louis Martini’s Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County (89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot and the rest Petite Sirah, Cabernet Franc and other varieties) is just a beautiful wine. Dense ruby/purple with classic tobacco leaf, blackcurrant, loamy soil notes and a touch of wood spice, this wine (aged 16 months in French and American oak) has relatively modest alcohol for Cabernets these days (13.5%), and what’s even more remarkable is that there are 408,0 ...Read More »

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Mountain Cuvee is a blend of 56% Merlot, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Malbec and 1% Petite Verdot. Deep garnet purple in color, it is scented of ripe plums, black currants, spice box and dried Mediterranean herbs. The full-bodied palate provides plenty of mouth-filling black fruit and spice flavors, with velvety tannins and ample freshness, leading to a long, relatively uncomplicated finish. Great value! Blended with 10% Merlot, it finds a jolt of richness on the finish, a showcase for notions of chocolate, cherry and blackberry." 2012 Kenwood "Artist Series" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon (Previously $50)

In 2012, Kenwood partnered with Sonoma artist Nathan Wirth to create the label that represents this vintage. Stately and brooding, Wirth's black-and-white vineyard landscape reflects the intense, age-worthy wine inside. Sourced mainly from Kenwood's Carriger and Lone Pine estate vineyards, the Cabernet is blended with a bit of Merlot and Petit Verdot to add depth, then aged for 26 months in French oak barrels. Full-bodied with velvety tannins, and impressive concentration, texture and length, this superb Cabernet can be drunk early in life because of its velvety opulence or cellared for two decades. Raspberry jam, spice, scorched earth, rose petal, cloves and new leather are some of the signatures. 2013 Pied á Terre Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

Richard Luftig worked 20+ years in NYC as a professional wine buyer. His winery, Pied á Terre (foot to earth) was born out of his love for wine and his frustration at not being able to find an affordable, high quality Cabernet from California. Truly a labor of love, Richards says, "It is not a path easily traveled. I am not producing Pied à Terre for financial gain. Rather, I am doing so because nothing is more satisfying than introducing wine lovers to a great bottle of wine, and one that is also very reasonably priced. This is both my vocation as a w... It shows a peek into each variety's personality, luxuriating in black pepper, leather, meat and black jam, with a juicy lushness to the palate." 1989 B.R. Cohn "Olive Hill" Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Back In Stock!
1989 B.R. Cohn "Olive Hill" Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

89 points Robert Parker: "When comparing 1989 and 1988, the two so-so vintages for North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon, the 1989s are significantly better. Here is an example of a top notch 1989 that just falls short of being profound. The color is an opaque deep ruby/purple and the nose offers up a classic combination of cassis, spices, herbs, and toasty new oak. In the mouth, there is wonderful intensity, medium to full-bodied richness, soft tannins, fine depth, and excellent length. Approachable now, this wine should easily age for a decade." (06/92)

1994 Arrowood Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon Back In Stock!
1994 Arrowood Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Arrowood's success with Cabernet Sauvignon, so obvious in the decade of the nineties, continues unabated, with a succession of top quality wines. Another sensational, opulent, rich, extremely aromatic and concentrated red wine from Arrowood, the 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon possesses stunning concentration and intensity, impressive balance and purity, and copious quantities of sweet tannin in the long finish. It should even eclipse the super 1993. Everything Dick Arrowood and winemaker Michel Berthoud produce these days merits significant attention. (RP) ...Read More »
