2007 Bressler Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Bressler is a tiny family-owned producer of premium estate grown wines. Fruit for the Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from their vineyard on west side of St. Helena. Only 410 cases were produced of the 2007, which contains a small amount of Cabernet Franc. This is a rare From winemaker Mia Klein: "The nose has spices of clove and cedar as well as the sweetness of vanilla bean, blackberry jam, tangerine and cherry liquor. The wine fills your mouth with flavors. The tannins are extremely well balanced, smooth and seamless. The flavors are very clean with... Read More »

2007 Carlisle Dry Creek Valley Syrah

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Inky ruby. Pure, perfumed bouquet of red berry preserves, Asian spices and smoky minerals. Juicy, finely etched red and dark berry flavors possess impressive depth but carry no excess weight and betray no rough edges. The finish is strikingly bright and focused, with strong echoes of raspberry and minerals. There's a compelling Pinot-like elegance and clarity to this wine. (ST)" (6/2009) K&L Notes: According to Robert Parker: "Mike Officer is quickly rising to the top of the qualitative pyramid when it comes to Zinfandel, and, more recently, Petite Sirah and Syrah. 2007 Radio-Coteau "Savoy" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep, bright ruby. A complex bouquet displays scents of black raspberry, kirsch, potpourri and smoky minerals. Pliant red and dark berry flavors are framed by silky tannins and pick up a deeper cola quality with air. The dark berry notes dominate the impressively pure and seductively sweet finish. I wouldn't hesitate to drink this now, but expect that it will reward another five years or so of patience." The density, flavor intensity, richness, full-bodied power, elegance, and freshness are all hallmarks of this special vintage in the Central Coast. This wine should drink well for 10-12+ years. Prince of Pinot approved: "Primarily sourced from the 1.5-acre Bay Block, part of the original 3-acre vineyard. Aged 23 months in 75% new French oak barrels. Interesting disconnect between the reserved earthy nose and the flavorful fruit core. Shy scents of damp earth, decay, mushroom and oak. 2007 Hewitt Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is a slightly softer, more forward wine, but it should last just as long. It is more typically Californian in its opulent black currant fruit intermixed with notes of chocolate, crushed rocks, vanilla, and black fruits. The tannins are sweeter than in the 2006, and the wine is full-bodied with a layered texture, admirable purity and depth, and a blockbuster finish with no shortage of tannin. 2007 Williams Selyem "Westside Road Neighbors" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

95 points Connoisseurs Guide: "The Westside Road Neighbors bottling is traditionally one of our Williams Selyem favorites, and it rises to the head of the class once again in 2007. It leads with the deep and downright succulent aromas of wonderfully pure cherry-like fruit that mark the best of its district, and, even if a little tight in construction, it shows fruity substance to spare and its precise, well-extracted flavors go on and on. While already impressive, it can only get better and deserves a few years in which to relax and fully unfold. *Three stars*" (10/2009) 93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby-red. ...Read More »

90-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Under the flagship Rhys moniker, the Rhys 2007 Pinot Noir Family Farm Vineyard looks to be a brilliant Pinot Noir from clay/loamy soils and sandstone. This Pinot exhibits intense red cherry and black raspberry fruit intermixed with some damp earth and forest floor notes. The wine is medium to full-bodied, elegant, pure, and just hinting at its ultimate potential. This full-bodied, classic Insignia reveals fabulous depth, ripeness, texture, viscosity and richness. Still young and unformed, it should evolve for 25 or more years. 2007 August West "Rosella's Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Dense black cherry and earthy black currant fruit intermixed with hints of underbrush and herbs result in a sweet, fragrant bouquet. This wine exhibits excellent ripeness, outstanding depth, and plenty of upside potential. Accessible at present, it should evolve nicely for 5-8 years or more. (RP)" (8/2009) K&L Notes: There are around 900 cases of August West's 2007 Rosella's Vineyard Pinot Noir, a large production by this small winemaker's standard. A fine example of Rosella's, one of the most famous vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Spicy on the nose with arom... Read More »

2007 Williams Selyem Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid red. Expressive aromas of black raspberry, Asian spices and fresh rose, with a nervy mineral underpinning. Lively and sharply focused, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors and an exotic floral pastille quality. The finish strongly echoes the red fruit and spice notes and is strikingly persistent. This is already long on personality but I'd give it at least three more years of cellaring. (ST)" (6/2009) 92 points Wine & Spirits: "A bright Pinot Noir with lush cherry flavors that feel silken and plump, this has a fine glint of acidity in the end. The oak behind it becomes sm ...Read More »

2007 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (98RP, 97WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The late-released 2007 Heart Stone, which spent 28 months in a combination of barrels, demi-muids, and pungeons, turned out to be a final blend of 65% Syrah, 21% Grenache, and 14% Mourvedre. Like all of Justin Smith’s 2007s, it is a riveting, sensational wine that carries its heavy weight, profound richness, and intensity very gracefully. That is no doubt an effect of the limestone soils of this region. Blackberry and smoked meats as well as some garrigue and floral notes are followed by a dense, rich, pure, multi-layered wine that just screams for grilled poultry or meats! Bottled unfined and unfiltered...this is a fabulous wine that combines power and elegance. It should drink well for at least a decade or more. (RP)" (08/2010)
