2013 Parusso "Bussia" Barolo (Pre-Arrival)

97 points James Suckling: "This is one of the greatest wines I have ever had from here. So much ripe cherry, raspberry and floral character. Medium body, super-refined tannins and a long and flavorful finish. So much going on here. Better in 2021." (7/2017) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Barolo Bussia is my favorite wine among Marco Parusso's new releases. This wine shows an extraordinary level of richness and softness that speaks to the unique winemaking style proposed by this innovative producer. The Bussia cru tends to produce softer and finer fruit characteristics. The bouquet delivers elegant notes ...Read More »

Sexy is the only word to describe it. Drink in 2020." (1/2017) 92 points Vinous: "Ample, generous and inviting, the 2013 possesses striking richness and intensity. A host of dark cherry, plum, spice, blood orange and pomegranate hit the palate in a forward, powerful Barolo endowed with considerable fruit as well as structural intensity. So approachable now but will be great for years in the future." (7/2017) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Barolo Cascina Nuova is the most accessible of the various single-vineyard Barolos released by the Elvio Cogno winery. But this vintage is a little different. Proprietor and winemaker Valter Fissore says that 2013 reminds him of 1999 for the deeper sense of structure and depth demonstrated by Nebbiolo this growing cycle. The vines are ...Read More »

2013 Francesco Rinaldi "Cannuubio" Barolo (Pre-Arrival)

Not that readers should be too concerned with drinking these wines young in the first place though. Firm tannins enshroud a core of expressive fruit in a Barolo that is going to need time to fully emerge. Even so, the Cannubi is super-impressive today. (AG)" (10/2017)
