92-93 points James Suckling: "Very intense and lively with lemon and mineral character. Full body with cream acidity and a long finish. Crisp. Tangy and lively. 50% sauvignon blanc and 50% semllion." 1982 Suduiraut, Sauternes

4 stars Michael Broadbent (Nov 1992): "Roasted grapes picked exceptionally early, 16 September. Alcohol 14%. First tasted in 1988: sweet, hefty; minty, spicy; good length and acidity. More recently: waxy yellow; rich bouquet; very sweet, full-bodied. Showing well." This wine is actually better than the heralded 1983 vintage because Suduiraut makes better wines when they pick early in the season.

According to Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A deep amber colour and a Beerensauslese-lite nose that is well defined, although lacking some botrytis. There are scents of Satsuma, beeswax and just a little chlorine. The palate is commendable, well balanced, a little ginger on the entry leading to a balanced palate with orange rind, Seville orange marmalade, almost Barsac-like on the finish." (08/11)
