2015 Reynon Sauvignon Blanc, Bordeaux

90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Château Reynon Blanc has a crisp Granny Smith apple and limestone-scented bouquet that is linear and focused, yet bounding full of energy. The palate is medium-bodied with a lively, citrus-driven entry backed by hints of pineapple and guava. Harmonious from start to finish and with impressive substance, this is a great Reynon Blanc from Denis Dubourdieu. (NM)" (4/2016) 89-91 points Vinous: "Denis Dubourdieu's 2015 Reynon is absolutely delicious. Rich, creamy and inviting, the 2015 captures striking richness and plenty of nuance. 2015 La Graside Blanc, Bordeaux

Another of the fine wines of Dominique Robin, Le Blanc de la Graside is sourced from a vineyard three miles south of Libourne that is planted with 60-year-old Sauvignon Blanc vines. Grapes are harvested at full maturity and aged in casks to round out the wine's generous profile, while it retains a mineral-driven finish. Superb buy.

2015 Grand Bateau Blanc, Bordeaux

This blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon is a stellar value from Bordeaux. Grapes are hand-harvested and the juice undergoes a cold soak before 75% of it is barrel fermented and the other 25% is fermented in stainless steel. Crisp and mineral with vanilla tones on the nose, the palate is nicely rounded and full with citrus and tropical fruit. It is delicious with lighter foods and also quite refreshing on its own.

Drink or hold." (2/2016) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A super dry white made by the great red winemaking guru, Michel Rolland, yields were 22 hectoliters per hectare and the wine comes from an estate owned by the proprietors of Malartic Lagraviere, the Bonnie family from Belgium. Lots of honeysuckle, tangerine oil, pineapple and honeyed grapefruit notes are found in this shockingly fairly priced beauty. It should drink ...Read More »

2014 Carbonnieux Blanc, Pessac-Léognan

91-92 points James Suckling: "Lots of sliced apple and pear character with a full body, fresh fruits and a tangy finish. Shows such balance and beauty already." (4/2015) 90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Carbonnieux Blanc 2014 has a pretty nose in the making: precise apple blossom and blackcurrant leaf aromas that gently waft from the glass. The palate is crisp on the entry, the acidity not as shrill as some of its peers, thus rendering it a more 'languid' Pessac-Léognan. There is already a very elegant, gravelly finish that lingers in the mouth–a very promising Carbonnieux Blanc that may merit a higher sco ...Read More »

(JM, Web-2015)" 88-90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Clos Floridene Blanc 2014 has a very composed nose in the making. This is keeping everything back, but there is appreciable delineation with citrus peel, white peach and apple peel aromas. The palate is crisp and fresh with good acidity, just a little rasping on the finish but there is commendable length and a sense of energy here. This will probably represent great value. 2014 d'Yquem "Y" Bordeaux Blanc

The dry white wine of d'Yquem. The chateau produces this wine in certain years when conditions permit. "Y" comes from the same exceptional terroir and vines as Yquem's famous sweet wines. It benefits from identical strict vinegrowing methods, but is harvested and produced differently. "Y" is produced when the deliberate decision is made to pick certain plots of Sauvignon Blanc grapes at the beginning of the vintage and overripe Semillon grapes later on. This accounts for the small quantities and irregular production.

95-96 points James Suckling: "So dense and powerful. Layered and chewy. Phenolic. Full body, dried apple and pear. Pineapple too. Goes on for minutes." (3/2016) 93-95 points Wine Enthusiast: "The wood is showing strongly here, giving a layer of spice to the generous perfumed fruit. It is going to be a rich, full wine, packed with fruit." (5/2016) 92-95 points Wine Spectator: "*Barrel Tasting* This relies on a fairly obvious oak treatment, with lush macadamia, butter and brioche notes coating the core of creamed apple and melon flavors. Shows threads of verbena and chamomile, but they're way in the background. For fans of the style only. (Web Only— ...Read More »

2014 Haut-Bergey Blanc, Pessac-Léognan (Pre-Arrival)

91-93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Tight, nervy and textured, this wine is still masking its fruit with upfront toast flavors. It does, however, have great richness at the end that promises good things to come. (RV)" (3/2015) 89-92 points Wine Spectator: "A note of warm salted butter underscores the core of yellow apple, heather and lemon pulp notes, giving this a richer feel overall without sacrificing the brisk energy through the finish. (JM, Web-2015)" Jancis Robinson: "Racy and with decent balance and density. Quite appetising and savoury. Wet stones. Decent persistence. (JR)" (3/2015)

1961 Suduiraut, Sauternes
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1961 Suduiraut, Sauternes (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted from the Chateau reserves at the estate, there is a sense of clarity rather than complexity on the nose with apricot blossom, dried honey, a touch of pear and rosewater. This is very attractive and seems to blossom in the glass. The palate has a vibrant entry with superb acidity, demonstrating impressive depth and tension married with a femininity and deftness of touch that is very appealing. Clementine and apricot, with a hint of peach furnish the refined finish. Beautiful. Tasted February 2011. (NM-Wine Journal)" (09/2011)

2014 Haut-Brion Blanc, Pessac-Léognan (Pre-Arrival)

98-99 points James Suckling: "The is breathtaking like looking down a well that doesn’t end. Full and rich yet deep and gorgeous. It really does take your breath away. It goes on and on with minerals, dried apples, dried mangos and lime. Superb. This is very unique in the blend with 68% Sémillon and the rest being Sauvignon." (3/2015) 97-99 points Wine Enthusiast: "Barrel Sample. This is a superb, very rich wine, full of great swathes of peaches and apricots. Powerful and round, it is still cut by the most beautiful acidity. The texture is tight, nervy and crisp while never losing its richness and opulence. This mag ...Read More »

2015 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, Pessac-Léognan (Pre-Arrival)

97-98 points James Suckling: "Very balanced and fresh with stone and dried peach aromas and flavors. Very aromatic. Full body, fine phenolics and licorice. Show power and richness." (3/2016) 93-96 points Vinous: "The 2015 La Mission Haut-Bion Blanc is deep, powerful and intense, yet with no excess heaviness. A vertical, structured white, the 2015 possesses remarkable depth along with a spherical expression of fruit that is a joy to behold. The aromatics haven't begun to develop yet, but there is time for that. Plenty of time. This is an especially rich, concentrated white that is going to require a bit of b ...Read More »

2013 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, Pessac-Léognan

93-96 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, pale yellow-gold. Subtly complex aromas of white stone fruits, lime, nut oil, nutmeg, menthol and bitter grapefruit. A huge, deep wine with laser-like acidity lifting the highly concentrated tropical fruit, white peach, spice and herb flavors. As youthfully chewy, thick and palate-staining as this is, it's also wonderfully light on its feet, showing uncommon class. One of the ten best Bordeaux wines of the year. (ID)" (5/2014) 96 points Wine Spectator: "Still tightly coiled, but the core should unfurl beautifully, revealing a panoply of intense and vivid white ginger, ma ...Read More »

The fruit was brought in between September 2 and 9 which helps keep the flavors fresh, while a dollop of Muscadelle and a small amount of malolactic fermentation gives the Aile d’Argent its characteristic sweetness. 2014 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, Pessac-Léognan (Pre-Arrival)

95-97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Barrel Sample. This is a gorgeous wine, so rich and generous. At the same time, it has a direct purity of fruitiness, with a tense structure and crisp apple and lemon notes that give a nervous edge to the wine. It will be a wine to age for a seriously long time. (RV)" (4/2015) 94-97 points Wine Spectator: "Tangerine, makrut lime and quinine notes are tightly coiled, with a long lemon shortbread note coursing through the finish. Offers a lovely kiwifruit core, with green plum notes skittering through the background. Despite the heft, this really lingers thanks to well-embedded acidity. ...Read More »
