2016 Reynon Blanc, Bordeaux Top Pick!
2016 Reynon Blanc, Bordeaux

90 points Vinous: "The 2016 Reynon Blanc is another winner from the Dubourdieu family. Melon pear and exotic floral notes are beautifully balanced in this super-expressive Sauvignon Blanc/Sémillon blend. Drink it over the next few years. (AG)" (2/2018) 87-90 points Wine Spectator: "Fresh, with a jicama edge backed by light white peach and honeysuckle notes. Quick finish. (JM, Web Only-2017)" K&L Notes: From the family estate of Bordeaux wine gurus Denis and Florence Dubourdieu, this is a crisp, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc/Sémillon blend that appeals immediately. 2015 Guiraud "Le G" Blanc Bordeaux Top Pick!
2015 Guiraud "Le G" Blanc Bordeaux

91 points Decanter: "Pungent Sauvignon characters evident on the nose with notes of white flowers and nettles, interspersed with burly hints of grapefruit, lanolin and oil. Brisk acidity on the palate, fresh with good purity, but lacking a little harmony at the moment. Will improve. (OC, CG, AH; panel tasting)" (10/2017) 91 points James Suckling: "Attractive citrus, grassy elements and lighter stone fruits lead to pawpaw and ripe melon on the palate in a fresh, approachable style. 2016 Lynch-Bages Blanc, Bordeaux

95 points James Suckling: "This is really excellent with sliced apples, lemon rind, minerals and stones. Medium to full body, vivid and energetic acidity and a long and powerful, almost minerally finish. Wow." (4/2017) 94 points Decanter: "This offers more proof that the whites in the Médoc have resisted the heat of August. The pH here is 3.01, and certainly the impression in the glass is of beautiful freshness with a creamy mid-palate of white peaches, honeysuckle and gentle citrus sorbet. Fermented at a low temperature in a combination of stainless steel, one year old barrels and 45% new oak with a ve ...Read More »

2016 l'Avocat Blanc, Graves

L'Avocat is in the small commune of Cerons, which is located just north of Barsac and Sauternes in the southern Graves appellation. The vineyards were purchased by Nicola and Sean Allison in 2002; the fruit was previously sold to Mouton Rothschild. At 300 feet above the Garrone River, the vineyards have stunning views of the lovely Côtes de Bordeaux. The vineyard's elevation is a key factor in its great drainage, and the soil is loaded with different color gravel that imparts textbook minerality to both their whites and reds.

2015 Les Charmes Godard Blanc, Côtes de Francs

93 points James Suckling: "A white with impressive personality. Green mangoes, lemon rind and limes. Full-bodied, layered and beautiful. Love the dried-fruit and mineral character to the palate. A blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc." (2/2018) 91 points Vinous: "Nicolas Thienpont's 2015 Les Charmes-Godard is as delicious as it has always been. Now that it has been in bottle, the contours have softened a bit. I would prefer to drink the 2015 over the next year or two, while the citrus and floral notes remain bright. 2016 Clos Floridène, Graves Blanc

Even though it has just been bottled, the 2016 is super impressive. Today, the 2016 stands out for its brightness and overall energy. It seems to have more richness and sweetness, with loads of apple tart, caramel and spice character. The noble rot certainly did its good here. Long, long finish. Beautiful sweet wine. 2015 Les Remparts Blanc, Graves

A classic Bordeaux Blanc is a go-to for high quality, every day summer white. This wine is packed with bright citrus and lively tones of fresh cut herbs that give the wine a savory dimension. This is not a one-dimensional Sauv Blanc, but contains ample nuance for such a price point. The finish is bright and crisp with a seashell minerality woven into the invigorating fruit.

2015 Mont-Perat Blanc Grand Vin de Bordeaux

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Mont Perat blanc showed well out of barrel. Now in bottle, it fulfills that promise with quite a precise and focused bouquet of lemon zest, linden and light white flower scents. This is very controlled but it seems to build in intensity. The palate is very well balanced with subtle tropical notes on the entry of guava and pineapple, the acidity well judged and with a dash of spice on the finish. 95-97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "I was able to taste the 2017 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc on three separate occasions and it never failed to impress. It should match, if not exceed, the 2015. Gorgeous notes of lemon curd, mint, citrus, white peach, and salty minerality all emerge from this medium to full-bodied white. It doesn’t have the sheer scale or sexiness of a sunnier year, yet its purity is off the charts, it has riveting acidity, and a great, great finish. 2017 Pavillon Blanc du Margaux, Bordeaux Blanc (Pre-Arrival)

Intense and concentrated flavours of quince, fleshy tropical fruits, nectarines and white peaches are combined with a mouthwatering tension that holds your interest and delivers a stunningly slatey, mineral finish. Orchard fruit, white flowers, mint and slate notes are beautifully vivid and delineated throughout. Creamy, pliant and polished to the core, the 2016 is simply exceptional. For readers who can find it and afford the price tag, the 2016 Pavillon Blanc is a total knockout and a wine of true aristocratic breedin ...Read More »

2015 Pape Clément Blanc, Pessac-Léognan (Pre-Arrival)

98 points James Suckling: "Very impressive pear and dried-peach fruits with very subtle mealy, savory notes. The palate delivers impressive weight, amazing power and depth here. Richness and great prowess. Tight now. Give it three or four years to open." (2/2018) 97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2015 Château Pape Clément Blanc is sensational stuff, and along with Domaine de Chevalier’s Blanc, a candidate for the white wine of the vintage. 2015 Bouscaut Blanc, Pessac-Leognan (Pre-Arrival)

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Spice, toastiness and tight acidity mark this young wine. It is edgy at the moment, dominated by a strong minerality that will soften with age. This promises to be a rich, concentrated wine as it matures. (RV)" (4/2018) 93 points Decanter: "Rich and round with clear new oak markings, but well handled. This is a contemporary Pessac, a wine to match with chicken rather than oysters because it occupies the richer end of the scale. (JA)" (3/2018) 93 points James Suckling: "Very impressive light peaches, nectarines, citrus and lighter herbal accents here lead to a palate that has a nicely polished stone-fruit ...Read More »

2016 Lespault-Martillac Blanc, Pessac-Léognan (Pre-Arrival)

93-94 points James Suckling: "Dense and layered with dried-apple, pear and honey character. Hints of stones and pie crust. Full and impressive. A little oily. Wait and see." (4/2017) 89-91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Chateau Lespault-Martillac 2016 Blanc is a blend of 75% Sauvignon Bland and 25% Sémillon. It displays good intensity on the nose with grapefruit, peach and mango aromas that are nicely defined. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, mango and papaya, quite saline in the mouth with good definition on what feels like a weighty finish. Tasted twice with consistent notes, this is a commendable dry ...Read More »
