2014 Roquefort Blanc, Bordeaux Top Pick!
2014 Roquefort Blanc, Bordeaux

Wine Enthusiast: "Still young, this wine is showing intense herbaceous characteristics that need to soften. Plenty of fruit between the texture needs to fill out. Hints of apples, pears and quince are all there. Drink from 2016. (RV)" (9/2015) K&L Notes: 85% Sauvignon Blanc, 15% Semillon

2015 Grand Bateau Blanc, Bordeaux Top Pick!
2015 Grand Bateau Blanc, Bordeaux

This blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon is a stellar value from Bordeaux. Grapes are hand-harvested and the juice undergoes a cold soak before 75% of it is barrel fermented and the other 25% is fermented in stainless steel. Crisp and mineral with vanilla tones on the nose, the palate is nicely rounded and full with citrus and tropical fruit. It is delicious with lighter foods and also quite refreshing on its own.

2015 La Graside Blanc, Bordeaux

Another of the fine wines of Dominique Robin, Le Blanc de la Graside is sourced from a vineyard three miles south of Libourne that is planted with 60-year-old Sauvignon Blanc vines. Grapes are harvested at full maturity and aged in casks to round out the wine's generous profile, while it retains a mineral-driven finish. Superb buy.

2015 Reynon Sauvignon Blanc, Bordeaux

90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Château Reynon Blanc has a crisp Granny Smith apple and limestone-scented bouquet that is linear and focused, yet bounding full of energy. The palate is medium-bodied with a lively, citrus-driven entry backed by hints of pineapple and guava. Harmonious from start to finish and with impressive substance, this is a great Reynon Blanc from Denis Dubourdieu. (NM)" (4/2016) 89-91 points Vinous: "Denis Dubourdieu's 2015 Reynon is absolutely delicious. Rich, creamy and inviting, the 2015 captures striking richness and plenty of nuance. 2015 Carbonnieux Blanc, Graves (Pre-Arrival)

(RV)" (4/2016) 92-93 points James Suckling: "A fruity and attractive white with pear and green mango aromas and flavors. Full body. Flavorful." (3/2016) 92 points Decanter: "Great definition, this has soft white flowers with a graphite kick on the finish. Floral aromatics add a lift – this is one of the fresher whites of the vintage. 2014 Carbonnieux Blanc, Pessac-Léognan

91-92 points James Suckling: "Lots of sliced apple and pear character with a full body, fresh fruits and a tangy finish. Shows such balance and beauty already." (4/2015) 90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Carbonnieux Blanc 2014 has a pretty nose in the making: precise apple blossom and blackcurrant leaf aromas that gently waft from the glass. The palate is crisp on the entry, the acidity not as shrill as some of its peers, thus rendering it a more 'languid' Pessac-Léognan. There is already a very elegant, gravelly finish that lingers in the mouth–a very promising Carbonnieux Blanc that may merit a higher sco ...Read More »

2013 Chateau Talbot Caillou Blanc Bordeaux

A classic Bordeaux blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, this wine comes from one of the historic houses of the region, led by Nancy Bignon Cordier and her husband, Jean-Paul Bignon. From the winery: "Georges Cordier, the grandfather of the current owners, loved white wines. He was one of the first to replant white wine in the Médoc. With a majority of Sauvignon, and a hint of Sémillon, Caillou blanc is raised in the manner of a Burgundy. The wine is very aromatic, with a lively personality and responsiveness one finds again and again through all the vi... Read More »

2014 Smith-Haut-Lafitte Blanc, Pessac-Léognan (Pre-Arrival)

95-97 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Barrel Sample* This is a finely fruity wine—all tangy acidity, crisp lemon and stone fruit. The wood aging shows in the notes of toast and burnt spice. It should all integrate well as it develops into a seriously ageworthy wine." (4/2015) 94-97 points Wine Spectator: "*Barrel Tasting* This crackles with energy, while a mix of white peach, yellow apple, Chartreuse, chamomile and green plum notes all mix together. The finish is still coiled up, but there's range and length here to spare." (4/2015) 95-96 points James Suckling: "This is a phenomenal young white with wonderful depth and finesse. (RV)" (3/2015) 92-93 points James Suckling: "Beautiful intensity of sliced limes, slates, stones and citrus. This is a serious white as always." (3/2015) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Malartic-Lagravière Blanc 2014 is a tentative blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Sémillon that represents around half of the total crop. 1997 de Malle, Sauternes

91 points Wine Spectator: "Absolutely wonderful, with honey, vanilla and apple aromas that follow through to a full-bodied palate. Very good acidity and a long, flavorful finish. Best after 2001. (JS)" (1/2000) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An exotic, flamboyant bouquet of orange marmalade, honeyed citrus, caramel, coconut, and pain grille soars from the glass of this well-bodied, potentially outstanding effort. In the mouth, it reveals an unctuous texture with tangy underlying acidity, medium to full body, and gobs of fruit. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2020. It has a charming bouquet with lime flower, apricot blossom and just a touch of blood orange. There is a sprightliness to this wine. 2013 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, Pessac-Léognan

93-96 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, pale yellow-gold. Subtly complex aromas of white stone fruits, lime, nut oil, nutmeg, menthol and bitter grapefruit. A huge, deep wine with laser-like acidity lifting the highly concentrated tropical fruit, white peach, spice and herb flavors. As youthfully chewy, thick and palate-staining as this is, it's also wonderfully light on its feet, showing uncommon class. One of the ten best Bordeaux wines of the year. 2014 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, Pessac-Léognan (Pre-Arrival)

At the same time, it has a direct purity of fruitiness, with a tense structure and crisp apple and lemon notes that give a nervous edge to the wine. It will be a wine to age for a seriously long time. (RV)" (4/2015) 94-97 points Wine Spectator: "Tangerine, makrut lime and quinine notes are tightly coiled, with a long lemon shortbread note coursing through the finish.
