2015 La Graside Blanc, Bordeaux

Another of the fine wines of Dominique Robin, Le Blanc de la Graside is sourced from a vineyard three miles south of Libourne that is planted with 60-year-old Sauvignon Blanc vines. Grapes are harvested at full maturity and aged in casks to round out the wine's generous profile, while it retains a mineral-driven finish. Superb buy.

2015 Reynon Sauvignon Blanc, Bordeaux

90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Château Reynon Blanc has a crisp Granny Smith apple and limestone-scented bouquet that is linear and focused, yet bounding full of energy. The palate is medium-bodied with a lively, citrus-driven entry backed by hints of pineapple and guava. Harmonious from start to finish and with impressive substance, this is a great Reynon Blanc from Denis Dubourdieu. (NM)" (4/2016) 89-91 points Vinous: "Denis Dubourdieu's 2015 Reynon is absolutely delicious. Rich, creamy and inviting, the 2015 captures striking richness and plenty of nuance. Peach, apricot, jasmine and candied lemo ...Read More »

2013 Gazin-Rocquencourt Blanc, Pessac-Léognan

94 points James Suckling: "Aromas of stones, dried lime, and lilly follow through to a full body, dense and tight white. Gorgeous intensity and flavor. Persistent finish. Structured and powerful. Drink or hold." (2/2016) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A super dry white made by the great red winemaking guru, Michel Rolland, yields were 22 hectoliters per hectare and the wine comes from an estate owned by the proprietors of Malartic Lagraviere, the Bonnie family from Belgium. Lots of honeysuckle, tangerine oil, pineapple and honeyed grapefruit notes are found in this shockingly fairly priced beauty. It should drink ...Read More »

2014 Carbonnieux Blanc, Pessac-Léognan

92 points James Suckling: "Aromas of cooked apples, lemons and stones. Full body, tangy acidity and a grapefruit aftertaste. Lively and fresh." (2/2017) 90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Carbonnieux Blanc 2014 has a pretty nose in the making: precise apple blossom and blackcurrant leaf aromas that gently waft from the glass. The palate is crisp on the entry, the acidity not as shrill as some of its peers, thus rendering it a more 'languid' Pessac-Léognan. There is already a very elegant, gravelly finish that lingers in the mouth–a very promising Carbonnieux Blanc that may merit a higher score after bottl ...Read More »

2015 Grand Bateau Blanc, Bordeaux

This blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon is a stellar value from Bordeaux. Grapes are hand-harvested and the juice undergoes a cold soak before 75% of it is barrel fermented and the other 25% is fermented in stainless steel. Crisp and mineral with vanilla tones on the nose, the palate is nicely rounded and full with citrus and tropical fruit. It is delicious with lighter foods and also quite refreshing on its own.

2015 Clarendelle Blanc, Grand Vin de Bordeaux

Wine Enthusiast: "The 49% of Sémillon in this rich wine gives it a full, ripe character. It is backed up by the more herbal Sauvignon Blanc to add the freshness. The wine is fruity with citrus and white stone fruits, ready to drink from 2017." (2/2017)

2007 Carbonnieux Blanc, Graves

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the UGC in London. Ripe nose with lime, gooseberry and a touch of cut grass: good definition and lift. The palate is ripe and full of grapefruit, lime and gooseberry notes, but just lacking some tension towards the finish. This should be better considering that 2007 was a favourable vintage for Bordeaux Blanc. Drink now-2014." (4/2010) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Dominated by the grassy characters of Sauvignon Blanc, this is a tight wine, almost cool in its character. The fruit skin tannins are very apparent, giving the wine a crispness, layering acidity and a strong citrus ...Read More »

2014 Smith-Haut-Lafitte Blanc, Pessac-Léognan

95-97 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a finely fruity wine—all tangy acidity, crisp lemon and stone fruit. The wood aging shows in the notes of toast and burnt spice. It should all integrate well as it develops into a seriously ageworthy wine. (RV)" (4/2015) 96 points James Suckling: "Clear and vivid with sliced lemons and green apples on the nose. Flows through to a medium to full body, tangy acidity and a long and delicious finish. Give this super white at least two or three years to come together in the bottle." 2014 Tour de Mirambeau "Cuvee Passion" Bordeaux Blanc

A clean yet deceptively rich white Bordeaux from one of Bordeaux's smaller Naujan-et-Postiac properties called Tour de Mirambeau. Run by Thibault Despagne and created in the style of a classic Graves Blanc, the wine is imported by our friend Charles Neal and sees very little distribution outside of France. A true under-the-radar secret for those who enjoy the sauvignon blanc wines of Bordeaux.

2013 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, Pessac-Léognan

93-96 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, pale yellow-gold. Subtly complex aromas of white stone fruits, lime, nut oil, nutmeg, menthol and bitter grapefruit. A huge, deep wine with laser-like acidity lifting the highly concentrated tropical fruit, white peach, spice and herb flavors. As youthfully chewy, thick and palate-staining as this is, it's also wonderfully light on its feet, showing uncommon class. One of the ten best Bordeaux wines of the year. (ID)" (5/2014) 96 points Wine Spectator: "Still tightly coiled, but the core should unfurl beautifully, revealing a panoply of intense and vivid white ginger, ma ...Read More »

2013 Carbonnieux Blanc, Pessac-Léognan

93-94 points James Suckling: "A very tangy and bright white with intense white peach, grapefruit and mineral character. Full body, crisp acidity. Gorgeous. One of the best Carbonnieux ever." (4/2014) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Fresh, fruity and fragrant, this wine has a pure line of acidity and crisp citrus alongside its tangy texture. The tightness shows its aging potential; drink from 2020. Founded in the 13th century by Benedictine monks, Château Carbonnieux is one of the oldest estates in the Bordeaux region. In 1956, Marc Perrin purchased the château and began vineyard and winery renovations that were conti ...Read More »

(RV)" (3/2015) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Malartic-Lagravière Blanc 2014 is a tentative blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Sémillon that represents around half of the total crop. Picked between 10 and 26 September, yields were 36 hectoliter per hectare and after a ten-day cold settling it is currently being matured in 60% new wood, the remainder one-year old. Don’t miss this. 66% Sauvignon Blanc and 33% Semillon. Drink or hold." (2/2017) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "This second wine of whites from both Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion is both rich and intensely crisp. It has a charming bouquet with lime flower, apricot blossom and just a touch of blood orange. There is a sprightliness to this wine. (2/2017) 97 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* With 83% Sémillon in the blend, this wine has weight as well as richness.
