2015 Tour St-Christophe, St-Emilion (Pre-Arrival)

95-96 points James Suckling: "Extremely firm and silky. Dark berry, violet, salt and mineral. Full body. Energy, vibrant and verve. Layered and compressed. Best ever here. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc." (4/2016) 92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Tour Saint-Christophe, owned by Peter Kwok since 2012, is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc cropped at 33 hl/ha between 3-16 October and matured in 40% new oak. It has an intense nose, perhaps slightly on the alcoholic side due to the Merlot (14.8%). The palate is more controlled and refined. 2015 Haut-Brisson, St-Émilion (Pre-Arrival)

94-95 points James Suckling: "A wonderful red with beautiful precision and depth. Full body, texture of fine silk. Blackberry and violet character. Hints of walnuts. So persistent. A much more refined style for Haut-Brission. First year without Reserve bottling. Best ever. From organically grown grapes." (4/2016) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Until the 2015 vintage, all the fruit from Château Haut Brisson came from down towards Château Teyssier; however, in 2013 Peter Kwok bought a parcel located on the limestone plateau in Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse, which obviously will impact and hopefully improve the quality. Amazing tiny production wine in the heart of Pomerol. 1 hectare. 3,000 bottles. 100% merlot. A wine to compete with Le Pin. Watch this estate!" (4/2016) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 L'Enclos Tourmaline comes from a one-hectare parcel directly opposite Clinet and owned by Peter Kwok, part of what appears to be his expanding "empire" on the Right Bank. 2010 Troplong Mondot, St-Emilion (Pre-Arrival)

99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Inky, bluish/black/purple, with notes of spring flowers, licorice, camphor, graphite, and a boatload of blueberry, black raspberry and blackberry fruit, this is a powerful, full-bodied Troplong Mondot. All the building components of acidity, tannin, wood and alcohol are judiciously and impressively integrated. It is a blend of 90% Merlot and the rest equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc made by Christine Valette and her husband Xavier Pariente with the consultancy help of Michel Rolland. 2009 Grand Corbin Manuel, St-Emilion (1.5L)

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "One of several châteaux in Saint-Émilion with the name Corbin attached, this is a finely made, ripe, dusty wine. It conveys a southern French feel with its rich fruitiness and powerful dry tannins. It has concentration and power, and will develop well over the medium-term. Drink from 2016." (6/2014) 90 points Wine Spectator: "This is on the tangy side, featuring a nice sanguine streak that runs through the blackberry and black cherry fruit. The fine-grained finish shows a roasted apple wood edge. Not big, but offers nice range and focus." (6/2012) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Grand-Corbin-Manuel’s offering exhibi ...Read More »

Dense plum, black cherry, blackberry and cassis fruit jump from the glass of this full-bodied, terrific Fronsac, which is one of the appellation’s stars of the vintage. Long, rich, young, and capable of lasting another 15-20 years, this is one of the candidates for Wine of the Vintage in Fronsac. This wine actually needs another several years of bottle age. Medium-bodied, soft, round and velvety-textured, it is another example of a wine that performs well above its humble pedigree. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. A consistent winner from the committed, energetic proprietor, Jean-Philippe Janoueix, the 2012 Croix Mouton is his lowest level wine. There is none of that here for sure. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit on the entry. I like the freshness on the nose here: more black than red fruit, a little broody and introspective at the moment but well defined with mineral tones coming through. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannin and nicely judged acidity. There is a sense of nonchalance about this Gazin, nothing over-ambitious, something perhaps in keeping with the vintage, uninteresting in replicating the 2009 or 2010, happy in its own skin. 95 points James Suckling: "Just now coming into its own, the LFP 1998 shows how wonderful this vintage is for Pomerol. It’s soft and silky with lovely character of fruit, wet earth and mushrooms. Some flowers too. Silky and fresh. Drink or hold." (7/2013) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Aromas of mushrooms and olives, turning to crushed blackberries. Full-bodied, with soft, round tannins and sweet ripe fruit. Long and flavorful. Why wait on this pretty wine? (Web Only—2009)" 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest La Fleur-Petrus I have tasted, this dense ruby/purple-colored wine exhibits aromas and flavors of Chinese black tea, raspberries, ki ...Read More »

2013 Clinet, Pomerol (Pre-Arrival)

93-95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Barrel Sample. A rich and structured wine, this combines both the ripeness of mature Merlot and a solid, dry texture. It’s full, with a good future." (4/2014) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A terrific success and star in this vintage, this blend of 90% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc came from a mere 25 acres of vineyard and averaged 33 hectoliters per hectare, with close to 13% natural alcohol. The entire harvest took place September 30-October 12. The wine is impressive in this vintage, its beautiful, dense, blue/black color is followed by a striking nose of c ...Read More »

2005 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion(nicked/lightly soiled labels)

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 from Cheval Blanc is a quintessentially elegant, beautiful, deep bluish/ruby-colored wine from St.-Emilion, with raspberry, blueberry, and floral notes, impressive density, great precision, freshness and purity. Full-bodied, but extremely light on its feet, I don’t mean to gush, but it is super-intense, rich and just so meticulously crafted! This is another fabulous wine and a perfect expression for this vintage. It is difficult to forget the gorgeous blueberry and raspberry fruit, full body, sweet tannin, a multi-layered texture, and purity and ...Read More »

Superb." (3/2008) 92 points James Suckling: "Wonderful aromas of blueberries, coffee, and lightly toasted oak follow through to a full body, with medium chewy tannins and a fruity finish. Needs time in the bottle." 2012 Clos Fourtet, St-Emilion (Pre-Arrival)

93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Clos Fourtet was cropped at 32 hectoliters per hectare and achieved 14% natural alcohol. The final blend was 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. It offers an opaque dense purple color along with attractive blackberry, licorice, truffle and cassis fruit notes. It is full-bodied and dense with an authoritative mid-palate, sweet tannin and a layered mouthfeel that builds incrementally into a stunningly long finish. Precocious and charming already, it will drink better at an earlier age than the massive, prodigious 2009. (RP) ...Read More »

1989 La Conseillante, Pomerol
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1989 La Conseillante, Pomerol (96RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Somewhat similar to the 1990, but slightly more structured, with more noticeable tannin and a meatier style, this is still a very perfumed, exotic, expansive, sensationally concentrated wine that should age effortlessly for another 10-15 years. In that sense, it might actually outlast the 1990, but what a pair these two wines make. The wine has a dark garnet/ruby color and fabulous aromatics of black raspberries, kirsch, licorice, and copious amounts of toasted new oak. Relatively full-bodied for a La Conseillante, with great purity, sweet tannin, but noticeable structure and muscle, this is a relatively large-scaled La Conseillante that has always been one of the top wines of the vintage. 2005 Clos de la Vieille Eglise, Pomerol New!
2005 Clos de la Vieille Eglise, Pomerol

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This lower pedigree wine represents undeniable quality/value rapport in 2005. This vintage is so deep in quality among the better run, less heralded estates, that these wines should appeal to readers looking for terrific values from Bordeaux. Most of these wines are Merlot-based and will be drinkable young. Sleeper of the vintage." (4/2006) Wine Spectator: "Licorice, berry and meat aromas follow through to a medium-to-full body, with good tannins and a medium finish... Best after 2008. (2008)" K&L Notes: A classic Pomerol (70% merlot, 30% cabernet franc) and winemaker Jean-Louis Trocar... Read More »
