2009 Grand Corbin Manuel, St-Emilion (1.5L) Top Pick!
2009 Grand Corbin Manuel, St-Emilion (1.5L)

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "One of several châteaux in Saint-Émilion with the name Corbin attached, this is a finely made, ripe, dusty wine. It conveys a southern French feel with its rich fruitiness and powerful dry tannins. It has concentration and power, and will develop well over the medium-term. Drink from 2016." (6/2014) 90 points Wine Spectator: "This is on the tangy side, featuring a nice sanguine streak that runs through the blackberry and black cherry fruit. The fine-grained finish shows a roasted apple wood edge. Not big, but offers nice range and focus." (6/2012) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Grand-Corbin-Manuel’s offering exhibi ...Read More »

2009 Maison Blanche, Médoc (1.5L) Top Pick!
2009 Maison Blanche, Médoc (1.5L)

91 points Wine Spectator: "Vibrant, with nicely packed raspberry, fig and blackberry fruit carried by mouthwatering acidity and well-embedded structure. Lots of anise, spice and tar frames the finish. Stéphane Derenoncourt consulting here. Best from 2012 through 2019." (3/2012) K&L Notes: The blend for the 2009 Château Maison Blanche is 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2% Cabernet Franc. The Cabernet Franc is usually not included in this wine, but was in 2009 because it came in so perfectly. This is stunningly delicious...blackberries and toasty oak abound. Will cellar well for five-pl... Read More »

Should settle in nicely. Stéphane Derenoncourt consulting here. Best from 2012 through 2017." (3/2012) Jancis Robinson: "Light crimson. Smells sweet and light. Very forward and rather soft but lots of fun. Fine tannins perceptible only on the very end of the palate." 2000 Labegorce, Margaux (1.5L)

The fruit is elegant and fresh with a fine streak of acidity." (6/2003) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Soft, ripe, and fruity, with big, smoky, charred berry-like scents intermixed with tobacco and plum aromas... According to their website: "A very balanced wine with a purple color, concentrated almost ink. The 13.5% ABV is perfectly balanced with tannins and freshness. One of our top-picks for value-of-the-vintage. Fabulous nose, rich deep flavors, and a great value for the high quality. We weren't the only ones who liked it, either. It got 91 points and a "highly recommended" designation from the Wine Spectator: "The best Cantemerle in years, beautiful and rich, with a wonderful core of fruit. So enjoyable already. Best ever from here?" (2/2013) 92 points Wine Spectator: "This has a really nice graphite frame that drives the core of fig, plum and boysenberry fruit authoritatively, with dense ganache, espresso and tar on the finish. The grip is keeping things tight now, but this should meld in the cellar, as the underlying feel is energetic. Best from 2015 through 2025." Full-bodied and opulent, this is an amazing wine from a terroir on the so-called “wrong side” of St.-Emilion. Drink it over the next 15 or more years. It is an amazing performance. Features a tarry edge at the end, but maintains a rather polished feel overall. A love" (4/2015) 92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Léoville-Barton 2014 is a blend of 83% Cabe ...Read More »

2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (1.5L)
Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (1.5L) (97RP, 96WS, 95ST, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Possibly the youngest wine of all the 2005 Médocs in terms of its evolution, at age 10 the inky purple 2005 Pontet-Canet tastes more like a two-year-old wine. Loads of pure blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit are present along with a hint of licorice and background oak. It is full-bodied, ripe, and excruciatingly fresh, vigorous and exuberant. This is a tour de force, and a sensational effort that rivals the first growths. Give it another 5-10 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 30-40 years. 97+ points." (06/2015)

1989 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1989 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (1.5L) (99RP, 96WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1989 has taken forever to shed its formidable tannins, but what a great vintage of Lynch Bages! I would rank it at the top of the pyramid although the 1990, 2000, and down the road, some of the more recent vintages such as 2005, 2009 and 2010 should come close to matching the 1989's extraordinary concentration and undeniable aging potential. Its dense purple color reveals a slight lightening at the edge and the stunning bouquet offers classic notes of creme de cassis, subtle smoke, oak and graphite. Powerful and rich with some tannins still to shed at age 22, it is still a young adolescent in terms of its evolution and will benefit from another 4-5 years of cellaring. It should prove to be a 50 year wine. (RP)" (08/2011)

2014 Ormes de Pez, St-Estèphe (1.5L) (Pre-Arrival)

92-94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Barrel Sample. Ripe and structured, this has a fine combination of smoky tannins and rich black-fruit notes that mingle harmoniously. It is a balanced wine that will age well, but also be approachable at a younger age." (4/2015) 92-93 points James Suckling: "This is really fabulous with weight and length. Fine and chewy tannins. Goes on for a minute or two. Tiny production due to hail storms in May and June." (3/2015) 90-93 points Vinous: "A dark, sumptuous beauty, the 2014 Ormes de Pez offers up a compelling mélange of purplish and black fruit, smoke, grilled herbs and graphite, with quite a bit of density. ...Read More »

1989 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1989 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (1.5L) (95RP, 95WS, 94ST). Wine Spectator: "What a nose here, from crushed mulberry to tanned leather to tar. Full-bodied, with big, velvety tannins that are soft and caressing, like cashmere. This is so tight and powerful still; it seems to be holding back. Be patient, because it will open with another five or six years of bottle age. Hard to wait. So why do it?--'89/'99 Bordeaux blind retrospective. (Web Only-2010)"

2014 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (1.5L) (Pre-Arrival)

96-98 points Wine Enthusiast: "Barrel Sample. A very firm, dark structure sustains the ripe, bold flavors of black plums and rich berries. The wine has a structured, concentrated background that shows a new, more subtle direction in contrast with the winery's previously showy style." (4/2015) 96-97 points James Suckling: "I love the style of this Cos with so much Indian spices constituting the aromas and flavors here. Full body, fine tannins and an ultra-long finish. Excellent structure and length yet this maintains finesse." (3/2015) 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Cos d'Estournel 2014 is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot an ...Read More »

92-93 points James Suckling: "Vibrant and fruity with currant, blueberry and spice character. Full yet tight with tension and brightness. Very velvety tannins. Sexy already." (3/2015) 91-93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Barrel Sample. This wine boasts great structure, with a dark color and vibrant aromatics from the high proportion of Petit Verdot. It offers dusty tannins partnered with ample acidity, providing great freshness through the finish." 2014 Capbern, St-Estèphe (1.5L) (Pre-Arrival)

90-93 points Wine Spectator: "Pure and direct, with a textbook beam of cassis and bitter cherry notes, laced with lilac and iron hints. The racy, unencumbered finish lets the mineral edge shine. Lots of improvement here recently. This may be the best value play in the vintage." (4/2015) 90-92 points Vinous: "A delicious, mouth filling St. Estèphe, the 2014 Capbern captures the personality of the year in the northern Médoc in spades. Hints of smoke, tobacco, licorice, mocha and earthiness wrap around a core of dark fruit in an exuberant wine loaded with pure textural richness. The 2014 finishes with notable ...Read More »

2014 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (1.5L) (Pre-Arrival)

93-96 points Vinous: "The 2014 Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is a huge wine. Rich, powerful and dense, yet remarkably precise, the 2014 boasts extraordinary density and fabulous balance. Scents of black fruits, graphite, smoke, tobacco, grilled herbs and incense meld into a huge core of fruit. Hints of black cherry jam, wild flowers and mint add an attractive aromatic top register on the close. Explosive and virile in style, the 2014 appears to have the pedigree to age well for several decades. It is without question one of the wines of the year. The blend is 65% Cab ...Read More »

2014 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (1.5L) (Pre-Arrival) Top Pick!
2014 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (1.5L) (Pre-Arrival)

97-99 points Wine Enthusiast: "Barrel Sample. A great wine, this Lafite has great power and richness as well as a wonderfully elegant touch. It is dark and brooding on the one hand and fresh in black currant fruit on the other. Woody tones support the superb fruits and complement the texture." (4/2015) 97-98 points James Suckling: "I love the sexy, perfumed and feminine style to this young Lafite with rose petals, rose stems and currants. Full body, super fine tannins and a wonderful finish. Lasts for a very, very long time." 2014 La Mission Haut-Brion Rouge, Pessac-Léognan (1.5L) (Pre-Arrival)

95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2014 is a blend of 54% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, picked between 15 September and 8 October raised in 55% new oak. It has a very fresh and precise bouquet, not one that marches out the barrack in confidence fashion, but rather unfolds piece-by-piece in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a structured and neatly placed opening: a little masculine for La Mission Haut-Brion at this stage, linear and focused, maintaining precision rather than aiming from power and roundness. This is a sophi ...Read More »
