2009 Maison Blanche, Médoc (1.5L) Top Pick!
2009 Maison Blanche, Médoc (1.5L)

91 points Wine Spectator: "Vibrant, with nicely packed raspberry, fig and blackberry fruit carried by mouthwatering acidity and well-embedded structure. Lots of anise, spice and tar frames the finish. Stéphane Derenoncourt consulting here. Best from 2012 through 2019." (3/2012) K&L Notes: The blend for the 2009 Château Maison Blanche is 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2% Cabernet Franc. The Cabernet Franc is usually not included in this wine, but was in 2009 because it came in so perfectly. This is stunningly delicious...blackberries and toasty oak abound. Will cellar well for five-pl... Read More »

2009 Lestruelle, Médoc (1.5L) Top Pick!
2009 Lestruelle, Médoc (1.5L)

90 points Wine Spectator: "Nicely toasty, with vanilla and espresso notes up front, but the core of raspberry, blackberry and boysenberry fruit rushes in behind it, with a long, licorice-filled finish. Should settle in nicely. Stéphane Derenoncourt consulting here. Best from 2012 through 2017." (3/2012) Jancis Robinson: "Light crimson. Smells sweet and light. Very forward and rather soft but lots of fun. Fine tannins perceptible only on the very end of the palate." Lovely texture. 60 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 25 percent Merlot and 15 percent Petit Verdot. This property is really on a roll now, delivering racy and structured reds; it gives much more freshness and character to the wine. 2009 Clarke (Baron Edmond de Rothschild), Listrac (1.5L)

Jancis Robinson: "Slightly peppery fruit and fragrant mid palate. Firm tannins but still pretty well balanced and showed well after a run of right-bank richness. Drink 2014-2023." (10/2011) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the better Clarkes ever made, this wine from the cool, backwater appellation of Listrac displays serious density, an opaque ruby/purple color, and lots of earth, black currants and raspberries. (AG)" (4/2015) Decanter: "Quite dense, firm fruit, classic claret in the old fashioned style. In the mouth, there is excellent richness, a density and thickness to the texture, fine spice, tannin and glycerin in the long finish. (RP)" (2/1993) K&L Notes: Over the years Ch. Lanessan has gained quite a following here at K&L for offering exceptional Bordeaux values. Dense, backward, and atypically powerful and unevolved for a wine from this well-run chateau, this boldly made, tannic, yet impressively endowed wine will have a long lifeline. It seems to bring out the structure, the fruit and the refreshing acidity of great Cabernet." (12/2007)90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sweet notions of plums, black currants, caramel, and spicy oak are provocative and alluring. 2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (1.5L)

Loads of pure blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit are present along with a hint of licorice and background oak. It is full-bodied, ripe, and excruciatingly fresh, vigorous and exuberant. This is a tour de force, and a sensational effort that rivals the first growths. Give it another 5-10 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 30-40 years. 97+ points." 1997 La Fleur De Jaugue, St Emilion (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1997 La Fleur De Jaugue, St Emilion (1.5L). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A sleeper of the vintage, this excellent wine reveals copious quantities of herb-tinged, black cherry fruit, smoke, and earthy aromas. Nicely concentrated, low in acidity, with superb fruit, and overall harmony, this is a serious effort from a relatively maligned vintage. Sweet, with neither vegetal characteristics nor sharpness." 1999 Gruaud Larose, St-Julien (1.5L)

90 points Wine Spectator: "Delivers lots of blackberry, mineral and mint on the nose. Full-bodied, with plenty of fruit and racy, polished tannins on the finish. This can go on for many years. But why wait? (Web-2010)" Decanter: "Very fine colour, masses of ripe Cabernet fruit, lovely extraction, impressive. 19.5/20 points" (5/2001) Jancis Robinson: "Rather luscious nose and thick and dense. Lots of fruit. Still quite dry finish. Muscular. Trying to punch at top vintage weight. Medium body - a real success and very good value." 2014 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (1.5L) (Pre-Arrival)

95-96 points James Suckling: "This has fascinating aromas already with blackcurrants and cassis. Hints of spices. It’s full-bodied with ultra-fine tannins and a long, focused finish. Muscular but toned and beautiful." (3/2015) 94-96 points Wine Enthusiast: "Barrel Sample. Pure Cabernet flavors are right at the front of this wine. It has fragrant fruitiness, with layers of black currant and fresh, juicy acidity on the palate. It's a bright wine, with just a touch of smoky wood flavors at the end." It is firmly structured, with a dry core and medium-plus concentration. It promises a long life ahead." (4/2015) 92-95 points Wine Spectator: "Mouthfilling from the start, with lovely plum sauce, steeped fig and blackberry coulis flavors, lined with warm ganache notes and carried by ample but polished tannins. 2014 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (1.5L) (Pre-Arrival)

93-96 points Antonio Galloni: "Deep and translucent to the core, the 2014 Pontet-Canet is one of the sexiest wines of the vintage. A host of violets, lavender, mint, spices, new leather and plums grace the palate in an utterly exquisite wine endowed with magnificent yet understated depth and crystalline purity. This is without question one of the highlights of the vintage. The 2014 isn't a big wine; rather it is a Pauillac built on a total sense of finesse. The 2014 was vinified in equal parts cement and oak, and is aging in a combination of 50% new oak, 35% amphora and 15% once used ...Read More »

2010 Branaire-Ducru, St-Julien (1.5L)

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* This rich, full wine shows the chateau to be at the top of its form. It’s finely balanced, pushing both its fruit and acidity, with the tannins taking the supporting role. With its power leashed, this shows the stylish side of Saint-Julien, although it will certainly age for many years." (2/2013)94 points James Suckling: "A layered young red with lots of black olives and berries on the nose. Full body, with velvety and chewy tannins. It all comes together at the end with a lovely sweet fruit. Try after 2017." (2/2013)94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine is more backward than I would have no ...Read More »

Freshly cut flowers, mint, dark berries and sage are some of the notes that are pushed forward in a sweet, unctuous St. Estèphe endowed with tons of class and personality. Raspberry jam and crushed flowers add further shades of nuance. The 2014 captures a deeply intriguing blend of lifted aromatics, super-ripe, fruit, pulsating energy and polished tannins. 96-98 points Wine Enthusiast: "Barrel Sample. The wine is serious, darkly structured and firm in character, packed with tannins that lend a very dry feel. Fragrant fruitiness and intense acidity shine through for a very fine wine, likely to age over several decades." (4/2015) 95-98 points Wine Spectator: "Features a youthfully muscular edge, but remains elegant despite the heft, with a core of plum, red currant and raspberry fruit, guided by supple tannins and backed by subtle tobacco and spice hints.
