2014 Siran, Margaux (375ml) Back In Stock!
2014 Siran, Margaux (375ml)

92 points James Suckling: "The red and black fruits and delicately herbal character make this quite a complex wine. For this appellation and given the wine’s youthfulness, the balance of fruit, tannins and alcohol is almost seamless." (2/2017) 90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Siran 2014 has perhaps the most sophisticated bouquet that I have encountered at this stage from this upcoming estate. There is real definition and focus here, more precision than recent vintages have shown. The palate is medium-bodied with tensile tannin. There is good acidity, energetic and animated in the mouth with a vivacious ...Read More »

2014 Montrose, St-Estèphe (375ml)

97 points James Suckling: "Incredible aromas of currants, blackberries, slate and flowers. Full-bodied yet so tight and beautiful with superb polish and brightness. The length is fantastic. Truly superb." (2/2017) 95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Montrose 2014 is a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot that represents 47% of the total production. It was picked from mid-September via five or six tries through the vineyard. The aromatics represent a clear step in quality from the second wine, attired with far more precision and focus, much more purity with scen ...Read More »

2013 Petit Guiraud, Sauternes (375ml)

The second wine of Château Guiraud and made by Xavier Planty, Château Guiraud's oenologist since 1982. It is a modern style with a high proportion of Sauvignon Blanc (approximately one third), made from a blend of lots fermented in stainless steel (for minerality and freshness), and new French oak barrels, which promote the development of richness, body, and intensity of flavor on the palate. Guiraud has employed organic farming methods since 1996, and obtained organic certification in 2011.

2001 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml) Top Pick!
2001 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml)

100 points James Suckling: "This is so layered and intense on the palate with lemons and dried pineapple, mango and honey. Full body, very sweet, but it remains tangy and vibrant. Shows such amazing balance and intensity. Crazy finish. Hints of vanilla and apple purée. One of the greatest Yquems ever. All about purity here." (9/2013) 100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 10,000 cases of this perfect sweet white Bordeaux. The 2001 Yquem reveals a hint of green in its light gold color. 2014 Rieussec, Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Rieussec 2014 is a blend of 93% Semillon, 5% Sauvignon Blanc and 2% Muscadelle, picked from 15 to 29 October through seven tries, the yield half the normal crop at 13 hectoliters per hectare. Charles Chevalier, how lest we forget started here and not chez Lafite, told me that the beginning of September had overripe grapes with passerillage – the second part had very good levels of botrytis. The blend is from these two parts. The bouquet is very well defined with crystal clear honeysuckle and white peach scents. The palate is beautifully balan ...Read More »

2014 Doisy-Daëne, Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Doisy-Daëne 2014 is bestowed with 144 grams per liter residual sugar and a pH of 3.7. It is much more introspective compared to the Coutet at the moment, perhaps because of less residual, but it is fragrant and ethereal with wild honey, yellow flower and orange blossom scents developing with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with superb tension and fruit intensity on the entry. It is more linear than recent vintages, minerally with a lovely twist of sour lemon imparting tension and vivacity on the crystalline finish. This is a fabulo ...Read More »

2014 Climens, Barsac (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

Despite the heft, this has a breezy feel within, thanks to riveting acidity buried deep on the finish. Best from 2020 through 2040. (JM)" (3/2017) 96 points Decanter: "One extremely fine lot after another, all marked by an extremely pure lemony botrytis. Bright and crisp, with lovely sweetness and mindboggling precision. 2005 La Tour Blanche, Sauternes (375ml)

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Extravagantly rich, this is dense and supersweet initially, just balanced with acidity. The botrytis dryness is really not here at this stage, but with its elegant creamy texture, wood flavors still very present. This is still at the very beginning of its development. (RV)" (6/2008) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the 10-Year On Tasting in Sauternes. There is a richness from the botrytis that is lifted by this wines delicious freshness." (4/2015) 98 points James Suckling: "Very subtle Yquem on the nose with dried pineapple, lemons, green apples and hints of botrytis. 2013 Doisy-Daëne, Sauternes (375ml)

Freshly cut white flowers, mint, sweet spices, pears and lychee all meld together in the glass in an effortless, gracious wine. The soft, intensely floral, crystalline finish makes it impossible to resist a second taste. The 2013 Doisy-Daëne impresses for its superb drinkability. If I was going to buy only one moderately-priced Sauternes in 2013, Doisy-Daëne would be it." 1990 Gilette "Crème de Tête" Sauternes (375ml)

The finish is so seamless it feels like glistening porcelain. Drink now through 2040." (12/2016) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1990 Chateau Gilette Creme de Tete is the latest release from the Medeville family. Fabulous harmony to this young wine. Very classic Bordeaux. Superb depth and length. Real Bordeaux." (4/2016) 95-98 points Vinous: "One of the wines of the vintage, the 2015 Pontet-Canet oozes class, finesse and pure pedigree. 2009 Climens, Barsac (375ml)

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Climens is certainly more expressive on the nose compared to the 2010 Climens with potent honeysuckle, fresh pear and orange blossom that gently unfurl from the glass. Compared to the 2009 Rieussec for example, this is powerful but not quite as flamboyant. The palate is just fantastic, so energetic and tensile with layers of minerally, honeyed fruit laced with spice, sea salt, a touch of licorice and quince. It is still showing quite conspicuous oak on the nose, although there is clearly sufficient honeyed fruit to support it. With continued aeration, it reveals attractive but subtle almond and spice scents. The palate is well-balanced with a lively honeyed entry. Chateau Climens always tends to go into its shell after bottling, which is probably why I was not dishing out an even higher score to this still, spellbinding Barsac. The 2007 is endowed with a lovely bouquet: very pure with honey, a touch of orange-blossom and a touch of quince. An equal blend of Semillon and Sauvignon, it delivers a record 220gms residual sugar and yet still exudes astounding minerality and precision, with touches of clear honey, frangipane and cold wet stones. Now, Grand-Puy-Lacoste is often quite "aloof" at this early juncture, but that is not the case with the 2015. There is an inchoate, resinous element that will surely surface over the next decade or so. This is a bouquet that demands attention and in this blind tasting, sticks out from the crowd, a sui generis. A big wine. (JM)" (4/2016) 92-95 points Vinous: "Candied orange peel, crème brulée, vanillin, pineapple and apricot jam meld together in the 2015 Clos Haut-Peyraguey. Deep, rich and unctuous - but with all of the finesse of the vintage - the Clos Haut-Peyraguey exudes depth, texture and pure class. The blend is 95% Sémillon and 5% Sauvignon fermented in French oak barrels. Tasted two times. (AG)" (4/2016) 93-94 points James Suckling: "A lively and brigh ...Read More »

2015 La Tour Blanche, Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

93-95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Barrel Sample. This wine is just beginning to show its possibilities. It has a dry botrytis character along with lemon and other citrus fruits. They are packed in a sweet dried-apricot and lemon-jelly flavored texture. The wine will age impressively. (RV)" (4/2016) 93-94 points James Suckling: "Shows energy and intensity with dried apple, pineapple character. Medium to full body, very sweet and a spicy, botrytis aftertaste. Excellent." (4/2016) 92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 La Tour Blanche has a noticeably deeper color than the other barrel samples that I tasted. The bouquet is quite intense, although I feel ...Read More »

2001 Clos Haut-Peyraguey, Sauternes (375ml)

97 points Wine Spectator: "Smells like pure caramel with just a hint of dried apricot. Full-bodied, ultrasweet and fabulously concentrated. This goes on for minutes. Coats your palate but shows fab acidity. Big, juicy young sticky. Best after 2010. (JS)" (9/2004) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Clos Haut-Peyraguey has a very pure and honeyed bouquet with marmalade, quince and honeysuckle aromas that gain intensity in the glass. The palate is viscous on the entry with very good weight in the mouth. This is one of the more unctuous Sauternes 2001 with a long spicy finish. I can see this aging beautifully over th ...Read More »

2007 Doisy-Daëne "Extravagant" Sauternes (375ml)

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Delivering 12.0% ABV and 200gms residual sugar, Denis Dubourdieu’s luxury Barsac, the 2007 L’Extravagant de Doisy-Daene, does not hold back, born with a lucid golden hue with big fat tears (of joy). The bouquet is very intense but very tight at first, demanding time to unfurl in the glass at its own pleasure: white peach, apricot, orange-blossom and a touch of marmalade with breathtaking definition. The palate is full-bodied with a viscous entry, so pure and caressing with mellifluous honey, apricot and citrus lemon, wonderful delineation on the finish, ...Read More »

2015 Doisy-Daëne "L'Extravagant" Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

96-98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 L'Extravagant de Doisy Daene has a powerful, intense but very pure bouquet laden with acacia honey, peach and quince, yet very defined and not at all overwhelming - remarkable given the richness locked into this Sauternes. The palate is medium-bodied with sensual, rounded, honeyed fruit, plenty of botrytis as you would expect, but leavened with a keen line of acidity. The finish offers peach and nectarine mixed with wild honey and a dash of spice to complete a fabulous wine from Denis Dubourdieu. (NM)" (4/2016) 95-98 points Wine Spectator: "A scintillating wine, with apricot, ...Read More »

1989 Rieussec, Sauternes (375ml)

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "After a period of prolonged disjointedness, this wine has pulled itself together. The color is deep straw, and the wine displays an intense perfume of creme brulee custard, baked apple pie, and sweet, ripe pineapples and pears. Full-bodied, rich, alcoholic, and fat, with low acidity and considerable sweetness, this is a luxuriously rich, unctuously-textured, heavyweight Sauternes that should become more civilized with age. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2025. (RP)" (1/1998) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Lively, complex, fresh aromas of tropical fruit, honey and spicy oak. Sweet and viscous ...Read More »

2014 Doisy-Daëne "L'Extravagant" Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The L’Extravagant de Doisy-Daëne 2014 has a very intense bouquet of wild honey, acacia and orange blossom that soars from the glass. The palate is unctuous, decadent and powerful – completely living up to its name – with layers of honeyed fruit on the long finish. It is like a super-charged Beerenauslese, somehow retaining immense tension and precision on the finish. For hedonists only. Queue up. (NM)" (4/2015) 97 points Wine Spectator: "Richly rendered, with pineapple, tangerine and nectarine gélee notes carried by a racy streak of orange zest. The long, honeyed finish glistens bea ...Read More »

1988 d'Yquem, Sauternes 375ml(stained label)

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1988 d’Yquem has an incredibly profound nose of orange marmalade, dried apricots, honeycomb, musk and dried pineapple with hints of marzipan and crystallized ginger. The palate is seamless with a great line of crisp acid cutting through the densely packed dried tropical fruit and honeyed flavour layers. The finish just goes on and on. (LPB)" (9/2012) 94 points Wine Spectator: "Broad and soft, with creamed apricot, mango, date, honey, caramel and marzipan notes, all framed by toasted brioche and musk accents. The flattering finish lets orange curd and flan details glide through. ...Read More »

2013 Doisy-Daëne "L'Extravagant" Sauternes (375ml)

96-98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are just three barrels of the L'Extravagant de Doisy-Daene, a blend of 65% Semillon and 35% Sauvignon Blanc that delivers 210gms/L residual sugar. It has a typically audacious bouquet of -thick- honeyed fruit that is richer and more decadent than anything you will find this year. The palate is unctuous on the entry with pure honeyed fruit interlaced with orange zest and peach. The acidity is well-judged, maintaining the equilibrium so crucial to this wine, while the finish has the weight of a German TBA. This is utterly irresistible, Denis Dubourdi ...Read More »
