2014 Doisy-Védrines, Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

94-97 points Wine Spectator: "Offers a bold, spicy profile, with nectarine, ginger, hazelnut and pineapple notes. Shows lots of energy, brimming with spice and focused acidity through the finish. A great showing. (JM, Web-2015)" 95-96 points James Suckling: "A solid wine with dried fruits, spices, dried mushrooms and medium sweetness. Full-bodied, sweet and intense." (4/2015) 94-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Doisy-Védrines 2014 is a blend of 85% Sémillon and 15% Sauvignon Blanc, a modest 134 grams per liter residual sugar and a pH of 3.55 (a figure that might be a little lower than recent vintages.) 2014 Coutet, Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

96-98 points Wine Enthusiast: "Aromatic with the a note of wildflower honey, the palate brings white fruit flavors and rich botrytis power. The midpalate is densely concentrated with fruit tones, yet lightened by a vein of acidity. (RV)" (4/2015) 95-98 points Wine Spectator: "Plump at first, with a praline note around the heather, pineapple and nectarine flavors. Stretches out, with a juicy feel, while orange blossom and white peach accents fill in, imparting lift and cut. This packs a bit of power, but there’s lots of buried freshness as well. The finish is seriously long already. (JM, Web-2015)" 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Coutet 2 ...Read More »

2005 Climens, Barsac (375ml)

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the 10-Year On Tasting in Sauternes. The 2005 Château Climens just soars from the glass with layers of clear honey, marmalade, nectarine and minerals all beautifully carved. The palate is medium-bodied with fresh, vibrant honeyed fruit that builds and builds in the mouth in tandem with a killer line of acidity. Even though it is a convincing, great Climens, you also have the impression that it is only just beginning to show what it is capable of. Bérénice Lurton and her team excelled in this vintage and it comes strongly recommended. (NM) ...Read More »

1990 Gilette "Crème de Tête" Sauternes (375ml)

98 points Wine Spectator: "A jaw-dropper, with quince, persimmon, mango, fig and blood orange marmalade notes providing a kaleidoscopic experience as this moves along, slowly pulling in more ginger, marzipan, green fig and date notes. The finish is so seamless it feels like glistening porcelain. Drink now through 2040." (12/2016) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1990 Chateau Gilette Creme de Tete is the latest release from the Medeville family. It has a curious bouquet that is minty and full of dried white flowers, but it feels contained at the moment, the aromas demanding more time in bottle to coalesce. The p ...Read More »

2015 Doisy-Védrines, Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

95-96 points James Suckling: "This has phenolic tension and power with so much dried fruit character from pineapple to mango. Full, medium sweet and lively. Really excellent." (4/2016) 93-96 points Wine Spectator: "A plumper, richer style than most Barsacs, with almond cream, ginger and hazelnut accents starting to develop alongside the orange, apricot and peach flavors. Offers a lovely feel. (JM)" (4/2016) 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Doisy-Vedrines has quite an intense nose, perhaps less fat and honeyed than recent vintages, more finesse if not quite capturing the same level of details as the Doisy-Daëne this year. 2005 Suduiraut, Sauternes (375ml)

97 points James Suckling: "What a wine for the vintage, with spices and furniture wax undertones, then dried citrus fruit. Great intensity in this, powerful stuff. Perhaps the best 2005." (4/2012) 96 points Wine & Spirits: "Bright gold. Perfectly balanced. Not sweet, and yet explosively sweet with flavors of fresh nectarine, scents of jasmine and honeysuckle. The sweetness pours out of the freshness, so it's impossible to taste them apart. The flavors last, perhaps because it's the kind of wine you'll want to roll around in your mouth over and over. 2015 Rieussec, Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

97-98 points James Suckling: "The is a phenomenal wine with dried pineapple and pear aromas and flavors. Full, very sweet. Incredible depth and power. Super complex." (4/2016) 95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Rieussec, a blend of 86% Semillon and 14% Sauvignon Blanc, was picked over five tries through the vineyard between 9 September and 27 October. "We had a bit of frost towards the end and 10% was harvested afterwards. The quality was affected and this was put into the second wine," winemaker Eric Kohler informed me. 2013 Rayne Vigneau, Sauternes (375ml)

92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Rayne-Vigneau, picked from September 21 until October 30 over four tries, is being blended from 28 lots and sees 40% new oak. It is still showing quite conspicuous oak on the nose, although there is clearly sufficient honeyed fruit to support it. With continued aeration, it reveals attractive but subtle almond and spice scents. The palate is well-balanced with a lively honeyed entry. This is already very cohesive, with fine delineation, and the finish is very composed, with a saltiness lingering on the aftertaste. It is a classic Rayne-Vigneau t ...Read More »

2014 Rieussec, Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

Medium sweet yet so fruity and energetic. This shows how you can have ripeness with fruit and then lots of botrytis. Exciting wine." (3/2015) 95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Rieussec 2014 is a blend of 93% Semillon, 5% Sauvignon Blanc and 2% Muscadelle, picked from 15 to 29 October through seven tries, the yield half the normal crop at 13 hectoliters per hectare. 2013 Clos Haut Peyraguey, Sauternes (375 ml)

91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Clos Haut-Peyraguey, now within the stable of Bernard Magrez, is slightly deeper in color than its peers. It has a gentle, slightly nutty and smoky bouquet that unfolds nicely in the glass. The palate is viscous on the entry with mellifluous honeyed fruit. There is plenty of botrytis here, good acidity with a concentrated, almost Climens-like finish. This is very fine and could merit a higher score after bottling. 2015 Doisy-Daëne, Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Doisy-Daene has a detailed bouquet, very correct, nothing showy or flamboyant as is typical of Denis Dubourdieu's Barsac. The palate is extremely well balanced and very pure: citrus fruit infusing the honeyed botrytis, veins of white peach and quince, leading to a very precise and sustained finish that leaves you with a smile on your face...and the wine ain't even finished yet! Just a wonderful wine - full of class and nascent joie-de-vivre. Chapeau Denis! (NM)" (4/2016) 95-96 points James Suckling: "Wow. This is really impressive with a fabulous density and style. There is a richness from the botrytis that is lifted by this wines delicious freshness." (4/2015) 96-99 points Wine Spectator: "This is beguiling, with acacia, jasmine and honeysuckle notes leading the way, followed by refined peach, tangerine and yellow apple fruit flavors. 1988 Rabaud-Promis, Sauternes (375ml)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1988 remains the most classic of the 1988, 1989 and 1990 vintages. It possesses great richness, sweetness, and unctuous texture, as well as higher acidity, plenty of botrytis, a wonderful, rich, honeyed pineapple, coconut, and orange-scented nose, gobs of rich fruit, and excellent delineation. Approachable now, it promises to age effortlessly for 25-30 years. At one time, Rabaud-Promis was among the most notorious underachievers of Barsac/Sauternes. That all changed in 1986. 2013 Petit Guiraud, Sauternes (375ml)

The second wine of Château Guiraud and made by Xavier Planty, Château Guiraud's oenologist since 1982. It is a modern style with a high proportion of Sauvignon Blanc (approximately one third), made from a blend of lots fermented in stainless steel (for minerality and freshness), and new French oak barrels, which promote the development of richness, body, and intensity of flavor on the palate. Guiraud has employed organic farming methods since 1996, and obtained organic certification in 2011.

Freshly cut white flowers, mint, sweet spices, pears and lychee all meld together in the glass in an effortless, gracious wine. The soft, intensely floral, crystalline finish makes it impossible to resist a second taste. The 2013 Doisy-Daëne impresses for its superb drinkability. The 2007 is endowed with a lovely bouquet: very pure with honey, a touch of orange-blossom and a touch of quince. The palate is just fantastic, so energetic and tensile with layers of minerally, honeyed fruit laced with spice, sea salt, a touch of licorice and quince. It will be a multi-dimensional Climens that has a very long future ahead, a killer Sauternes that is going to give a great deal of pleasure ...Read More »

2015 Lafaurie-Peyraguey, Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

95-96 points James Suckling: "A purity and finesse to this young Sauternes with mushroom, botrytis and flower character. The sweetness, fruit, phenolics and acidity balance it out to an ethereal level. Lovely finish." (4/2016) 93-96 points Wine Spectator: "A ripe, unctuous style, with a big core of nectarine, peach, mango and quince flavors, backed by lots of spice and ginger. Among the more backward examples at this early stage, but everything is here. (JM)" (4/2016) 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Lafaurie-Peyraguey has a slightly taciturn bouquet at first, though it soon awakens to deliver pure wild honey and subtle marmalade notes, tho ...Read More »

2015 Clos Haut-Peyraguey, Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

93-96 points Wine Spectator: "Intense, this features notes of peach, pear, apricot, quince and mango, layering them deftly while the creamy finish picks up light ginger and almond accents. A big wine. (JM)" (4/2016) 92-95 points Vinous: "Candied orange peel, crème brulée, vanillin, pineapple and apricot jam meld together in the 2015 Clos Haut-Peyraguey. Deep, rich and unctuous - but with all of the finesse of the vintage - the Clos Haut-Peyraguey exudes depth, texture and pure class. The blend is 95% Sémillon and 5% Sauvignon fermented in French oak barrels. Tasted two times. (AG)" (4/2016) 93-94 points James Suckling: "A lively and brigh ...Read More »

2007 Doisy-Daëne "Extravagant" Sauternes (375ml)

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Delivering 12.0% ABV and 200gms residual sugar, Denis Dubourdieu’s luxury Barsac, the 2007 L’Extravagant de Doisy-Daene, does not hold back, born with a lucid golden hue with big fat tears (of joy). The bouquet is very intense but very tight at first, demanding time to unfurl in the glass at its own pleasure: white peach, apricot, orange-blossom and a touch of marmalade with breathtaking definition. The palate is full-bodied with a viscous entry, so pure and caressing with mellifluous honey, apricot and citrus lemon, wonderful delineation on the finish, ...Read More »

2015 Doisy-Daëne "L'Extravagant" Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

96-98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 L'Extravagant de Doisy Daene has a powerful, intense but very pure bouquet laden with acacia honey, peach and quince, yet very defined and not at all overwhelming - remarkable given the richness locked into this Sauternes. The palate is medium-bodied with sensual, rounded, honeyed fruit, plenty of botrytis as you would expect, but leavened with a keen line of acidity. The finish offers peach and nectarine mixed with wild honey and a dash of spice to complete a fabulous wine from Denis Dubourdieu. (NM)" (4/2016) 95-98 points Wine Spectator: "A scintillating wine, with apricot, ...Read More »

2015 La Tour Blanche, Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

93-95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Barrel Sample. This wine is just beginning to show its possibilities. It has a dry botrytis character along with lemon and other citrus fruits. They are packed in a sweet dried-apricot and lemon-jelly flavored texture. The wine will age impressively. (RV)" (4/2016) 93-94 points James Suckling: "Shows energy and intensity with dried apple, pineapple character. Medium to full body, very sweet and a spicy, botrytis aftertaste. Excellent." (4/2016) 92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 La Tour Blanche has a noticeably deeper color than the other barrel samples that I tasted. The bouquet is quite intense, although I feel ...Read More »

2001 Clos Haut-Peyraguey, Sauternes (375ml)

97 points Wine Spectator: "Smells like pure caramel with just a hint of dried apricot. Full-bodied, ultrasweet and fabulously concentrated. This goes on for minutes. Coats your palate but shows fab acidity. Big, juicy young sticky. Best after 2010. (JS)" (9/2004) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Clos Haut-Peyraguey has a very pure and honeyed bouquet with marmalade, quince and honeysuckle aromas that gain intensity in the glass. The palate is viscous on the entry with very good weight in the mouth. This is one of the more unctuous Sauternes 2001 with a long spicy finish. I can see this aging beautifully over th ...Read More »

2014 Doisy-Daëne "L'Extravagant" Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival)

95-98 points Wine Spectator: "Unctuous, with almond paste, nectarine and creamed yellow apple notes forming the core, leading to a finish laced with hazelnut oil accents. This tightly coiled version will take some time to unwind. A likely classic in the making" (4/2015) 95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The L’Extravagant de Doisy-Daëne 2014 has a very intense bouquet of wild honey, acacia and orange blossom that soars from the glass. The palate is unctuous, decadent and powerful – completely living up to its name – with layers of honeyed fruit on the long finish. It is like a super-charged Beerenauslese, somehow retain ...Read More »

1967 Petrus, Pomerol (375ml)
Bid on this 1-half-bottle lot of 1967 Petrus, Pomerol (375ml) (99RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "...This has always been the best wine of the vintage and a gorgeous example of Petrus. The wine shows considerable amber to its garnet color and has a sweet nose of coffee beans intermixed with cedar, herbs, black cherries, roasted nuts. The wine is sweet, elegant, medium to full-bodied, and totally savory and seamless. It is a gorgeous wine and one of the great sleeper vintages for Petrus. (RP)" (12/2002)

2013 Doisy-Daëne "L'Extravagant" Sauternes (375ml)

96-98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are just three barrels of the L'Extravagant de Doisy-Daene, a blend of 65% Semillon and 35% Sauvignon Blanc that delivers 210gms/L residual sugar. It has a typically audacious bouquet of -thick- honeyed fruit that is richer and more decadent than anything you will find this year. The palate is unctuous on the entry with pure honeyed fruit interlaced with orange zest and peach. The acidity is well-judged, maintaining the equilibrium so crucial to this wine, while the finish has the weight of a German TBA. This is utterly irresistible, Denis Dubourdi ...Read More »

1999 Palmer, Margaux (375ml)
Bid on this 3-half-bottle lot of 1999 Palmer, Margaux (375ml) (94RP, 92ST, 91JS, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Though I have tasted many vintages of Palmer in recent months, it has been some time since I tasted the 1999 Palmer. Now at 17 years of age, it has a really quite splendid bouquet that is so fresh and vital, pure brambly red fruit, sloes and iodine. It has certainly lost some of the headiness that it showed over its first 10 years, but it is still a Palmer that likes to party. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. There is good depth here, clean and fresh with wonderful poise. This is a "correct" Palmer, self-aware that it was not born in a propitious vintage, therefore it might seem a little restrained, even conservative in character. That would ignore its precision and grace, the manner in which it gently builds to the finish. You can drink this now but I would be inclined to give it another 3-4 years. There are few better Left Bank 1999s than Palmer. (NM)"

2014 Climens, Barsac (375ml)

96 points Decanter: "One extremely fine lot after another, all marked by an extremely pure lemony botrytis. Bright and crisp, with lovely sweetness and mindboggling precision. Choosing between the various barrels to make the final blend will be even tougher than usual this year." (4/2015) 94-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Climens was tasted from several lots that Bérénice Lurton and her team are preparing to blend together during its barrel maturation. Having conducted this practice over many years, I would point out that whereas in some years one has to conjecture to the full, in 2014 the lots wer ...Read More »
