2011 L'Arrosée, St-Emilion

92-93 points James Suckling: "Full body, with a solid core of ripe fruit and mineral, stone, chocolate and sweet-ripe fruit. Sold and silky tannins. Very well done for the vintage. I like this better than many past vintages." (4/2012) 88-91 points Wine Spectator: "Dark in profile, with a strong cocoa frame to the blackberry and fig notes. Polished in texture, but more heft than purity in the end. (JM)" (4/2012) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A juicy, seductive, dark plum/garnet-colored effort, this 2011 reveals plenty of bing cherry-like fruit intermixed with spice and earth notes. Round, plush, charming and delicious, this medium-bodied wine shou ...Read More »

2010-2012 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac Vertical
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010-2012 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac Vertical, including 1-bottle of 2010 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (98VN, 96WE, 95RP, 95WS, 94CG, 94JS), 1-bottle of 2011 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (95WE, 93JS, 91WS), and 1-bottle of 2012 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac ((94-96WE), 92JS, 92VN, 92WS, 90RP). Of the 2010 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac,Vinous writes: "An eternal wine, the 2010 Pichon Lalande is a total showstopper. The first impression is one of explosive power, but time in the glass brings out the wine’s more delicate, floral side. Violet, graphite, crème de cassis, licorice and menthol overtones recall the 1996, but the tannins here are much softer, sweeter and more polished. In two recent tastings, the 2010 has been positively stellar. The alternation of hot days and cool nights led to a late harvest. The Cabernet Sauvignon harvest did not start until October 7; by that date in 2009 all the fruit was in. Readers who can still find the 2010 should not hesitate, as it is a mode

2011 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml) Top Pick!
2011 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml)

99 points Wine Spectator: "A lovely, creamy, tropical style, with mango, papaya and guava notes lending a caressing feel, while singed almond and warm piecrust accents blossom through the lush finish. Just when you think that's all there is, toasted coconut, fig, orange blossom and persimmon details kick in, lending length and dimension. The finish is ridiculously long. Best from 2020 through 2060. (JM)" (3/2014) 98 points James Suckling: "Crazy minerality to this, with lots of dried mango, pineapple and papaya on the nose. Botrytis-spice and nutmeg undertones. Full body, very sweet, with superb depth of frui ...Read More »

2011 Les Forts de Latour, Pauillac

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "This wine is characterized by both structure and rich fruitiness. A dark, smoky character brings out the solid tannins that underlie the black currant fruitiness and the balance. Although it doesn’t have power, an intensity gives a flavor that lasts in the mouth. Drink this wine from 2018. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (5/2014) 92 points Vinous: "A wonderful surprise today, the 2011 Les Forts de Latour is terrific. Pliant, silky and racy, the 2011 offers considerable suppleness and sheer appeal. Hints of sweet tobacco, herb, licorice, cloves and leather add aromatic nuance throug ...Read More »

2011 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac

96 points Wine Enthusiast: "So smooth, this is a rich, grandiose wine. Although it is full of black currant fruits and spice flavors, the texture is most impressive. Dusty tannins are integrated with juicy fruits seamlessly. The purest fruit flavors are allied to linear tannins in a precise yet generous way. The wine is evolving beautifully, but do not drink before 2020. *Cellar Selection*" (5/2014) 95 points James Suckling: "A wine with lots of ripe berries, verging on dried fruits. Full and chewy with ripe, round, chewy tannins. It needs lots of bottle age. A wine of steel. From biodynamically grown grapes, ...Read More »

2011 Fonplégade, St-Emilion

92 points James Suckling: "Shows serious concentration of fruit for the vintage, with a medium to full body, fine tannins and a juicy finish. Beautiful, pure fruit, with licorice and berries. Needs a few years to come together: try in 2017." (2/2014) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Delivers a gorgeous bolt of raspberry ganache, with blueberry and plum compote notes, lined with anise and carrying through a briary, spice-infused finish. This has ample grip and more than enough flesh, offering lovely fruit and a rather suave feel. A strong showing for the vintage. Best from 2016 through 2026." 2011 Doisy-Daëne, Sauternes (375ml)

95-98 points Wine Spectator: "Very backward today, with viscous green plum, green almond, quince, pineapple, fig and pear notes still assimilating one another. The long, toasted almond- and ginger-filled finish has terrific depth." (4/2012) 95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The aromatics on the Doisy-Daene comes racing out of the blocks like a March hare, soaring from the glass with honey, quince and lychee aromas with a sorbet like freshness and vivacity. The palate is supremely well balanced with a heightened level of tension and purity, offering delectable but subtle notes of white peach and apricot towards the beau ...Read More »
