2004 Nairac, Barsac (Previously $30) Top Pick!
2004 Nairac, Barsac (Previously $30)

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pale gold. Clean, ripe and pure on the nose, with stone fruit and citrus aromas complicated by minerals, clove and vanillin oak. At once fresh and ripe in the mouth, with intense flavors of apricot nectar and orange. Finishes ripe and long, with a strong spice character to the fruit flavors, and firm spine. Very promising." (7/2006) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Chateau Nairac is closed and reticent on the nose with light pineapple and citrus peel scents. The palate is nicely rounded and viscous on the entry. There are light scents of orange peel and dried apricot and a touch ...Read More »

2013 Bourgneuf, Pomerol (Previously $45)

89-91 points Vinous: "The 2013 Bourgneuf is rich, generous and inviting, especially within the context of the vintage. Dark cherry, plum, spice, vanillin and French oak notes blossom in a resonant, expressive wine endowed with lovely depth. The 2013 isn't especially complex, but it is quite open and expressive, not to mention incredibly delicious. I expect the 2013 will be a great wine to drink in its youth. Today the oak is a bit prominent, but hopefully that won't be an issue by the time the wine arrives in the market. This is a terrific showing. 2007 Doisy-Védrines, Sauternes

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the château, the 2007 Château Doisy-Védrines does not achieve the same level of precision as the 2006 on the nose, although there is plenty of botrytis here with scents of melted candle wax and white peach. The palate is vibrant on the entry with impressive weight: hints of orange peel and apricot with a tender, almost understated finish. This improves in the glass, gaining more complexity and nuance and yet never quite demonstrating the sheer ambition as the 2009. Yet I notice even within the limited amount of time at my disposal some meliorat ...Read More »

1999 Vieux-Château-Certan, Pomerol (Previously $160)

94 points Wine & Spirits: "No tasting note given." (4/2002) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This 1999 is deep ruby/purple-colored, with a striking perfume of black cherries, truffles, cedar, and vanilla. This layered, opulently-textured wine displays extraordinary purity, elegance, and finesse. It is a classic Bordeaux with superb palate presence that builds incrementally on the palate. The finish is long, with plenty of sweet tannin. Very impressive! Three thousand cases of the 1999 were made from a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Last year it seemed to reveal an element of dil ...Read More »

2013 l'Eglise-Clinet, Pomerol (Previously $190)

95 points James Suckling: "This is a vivid wine with terrific clarity and vibrance aromas and flavors. Full body, ultra fine tannins and a long, long finish. Class. Really superb for the vintage. Needs two or three years of bottle age to soften." (2/2016) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 L'Eglise Clinet has a very precise, tightly wound bouquet with limestone-tinged, brambly red berry fruit, the Merlot still very expressive and imparting comely floral scents. There is something almost Burgundy-like about the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin surrounding a core of citrus-fresh, lively red f ...Read More »

2000 Beaulieu Comtes de Tastes, Bordeaux Supérieur (Previously $45)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A beautiful example of what Bordeaux can do at the lower end, but so rarely does, this blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Made from low yields, it reveals a dark ruby/purple color, excellent fruit, sweet cassis, and a classy, nearly classified growth character. (RP)" (2/2002)

2005 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge, Pessac-Léognan (3L) (Previously $590)

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A glorious wine from Domaine de Chevalier, this 2005 reveals notes of graphite, subtle charcoal, blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, silky tannins, and a long, multi-dimensional finish. This is a killer effort from the Bernard family, who own this famous terroir in Pessac-Léognan. Drink it over the next 20-30 years. (RP)" (6/2015) 94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(a blend of 55% cabernet sauvignon, 35% merlot, 6% petit verdot and 4% cabernet franc; 13.3% alcohol): Saturated medium-deep ruby. Rather backward but extremely complex nose hints at cassis, blac ...Read More »

2001 Climens, Barsac (375ml) (Previously $190)

99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Climens 2001 has always possessed a deliriously complex and intense bouquet that is beautifully defined: dried quince and marmalade, honeycomb and antique furniture. There is an inchoate, resinous element that will surely surface over the next decade or so. This is a bouquet that demands attention and in this blind tasting, sticks out from the crowd, a sui generis. Since I last tasted it, the palate has opened up and is beginning to pump on all cylinders. It is wonderfully balanced with fabulous intensity and a long, citrus-tinged finish that is utte ...Read More »
