1985 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1985 Margaux, Margaux (95RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Approaching full maturity, this beautifully sweet Chateau Margaux has a dense plum/purple color and a huge, sweet nose of black currants intermixed with licorice, toast, underbrush, and flowers. Medium to full-bodied with supple tannin and a fleshy, juicy, very succulent and multi-layered mid-palate, this expansive, velvety wine has entered its plateau of maturity, where it should remain (assuming good storage) for at least another 10-15 years. A very delicious, seductive, and opulent Chateau Margaux to drink over the next two decades. Anticipated maturity: Now-2015. Last tasted, 10/02. (RP)" (01/2003)

1989 Raymond Lafon, Sauternes
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1989 Raymond Lafon, Sauternes (91RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1989 exhibits aromas of honeyed pineapple/tropical fruit and toasty new oak, as well as an exotic, flashy perfume that is not as pronounced in either the 1990 or 1988. The 1989 exhibits less botrytis than the other two vintages. The wine possesses an opulent, full-bodied, exotic, lavishly rich personality, moderate sweetness, and huge quantity of extract, glycerin, and alcohol in its finish. The wine is also extremely young and unevolved. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2025. (RP)" (01/1998)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "My first really ancient claret, tasted at Chateau Doisy-Vedrines next to the person who proffered the bottle, proprietor Charles Chevalier who had raided the chateau's cellar. A truly exquisite nose: very complex with small red berries, damp woodland, earth and truffles. A wonderful palate with mature herby fruits and a touch of walnut. 2003 & 2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac Tasting Lot
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 & 2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 2003 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (95RP, 94WS, 93JS, 93ST, 91WE) and 1-bottle of 2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (97RP, 96WS, 95ST, 94WE). Of the 2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Possibly the youngest wine of all the 2005 Médocs in terms of its evolution, at age 10 the inky purple 2005 Pontet-Canet tastes more like a two-year-old wine. Loads of pure blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit are present along with a hint of licorice and background oak. It is full-bodied, ripe, and excruciatingly fresh, vigorous and exuberant. This is a tour de force, and a sensational effort that rivals the first growths. Give it another 5-10 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 30-40 years. 97+ points." (06/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (99RP, 96ST, 96WE, 95JS, 94W&S, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Haut-Brion (a blend of 51% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc) showed incredibly at the tasting, and for me is one of the three or four most prodigious wines of the vintage. A compelling nose of roasted herbs, scorched earth, sweet blueberries, plums, black currants, and a hint of graphite is followed by a deep, layered, sumptuously textured, full-bodied Haut-Brion, but one with extraordinary complexity. This wine seems more evolved and approachable than I had expected it to be at age 10. My window of maturity seven years ago was 2012-2040, but I would change that to 2010-2050. (RP)" (06/2010)

1982 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Latour, Pauillac (100RP, 98JS, 98VN, 98WS, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Always somewhat atypical, the 1982 Latour has been the most opulent, flamboyant, and precocious of the northern Medocs, especially the St.-Juliens, Pauillacs, and St.-Estephes. It hasn't changed much over the last 10-15 years, revealing sweet tannins as well as extraordinarily decadent, even extravagant levels of fruit, glycerin, and body. It is an amazing wine, and on several occasions, I have actually picked it as a right bank Pomerol because of the lushness and succulence of the cedary, blackberry, black currant fruit. This vintage has always tasted great, even in its youth, and revealed a precociousness that one does not associate with this Chateau. However, the 1982 is still evolving at a glacial pace. The concentration remains remarkable, and the wine is a full-bodied, exuberant, rich, classic Pauillac in its aromatic and flavor profiles ... (RP)" (06/2009)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2003 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien (96RP, 95JS, 95WS, 93WE, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The spectacular 2003 Leoville Poyferre exhibits a dense purple color with a touch of lightening at the edge as well as notes of creosote, barbecue smoke, jammy black currants, licorice and spice box. This intense, voluptuously textured, full-bodied St.-Julien possesses low acidity and ripe tannin. Still fresh and exuberant, it is just entering its plateau of full maturity where it should remain for 10-15+ years. (RP)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Branon, Pessac-Léognan (OWC - 98RP, 94ST, 94WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This magnificent, dense plum/purple-colored Pessac-Leognan reveals notes of scorched earth, burning embers, blackberries and truffles. Composed of Merlot and Cabernet Franc from a vineyard gorgeously situated between Malartic Lagraviere and Haut-Bailly, it possesses full-bodied power, a stunningly intense, voluptuous, layered mouthfeel and abundant levels of fruit, glycerin and tannin. The 2009 ranks alongside the magnificent 2000, which is aging at a glacial pace. Unfortunately, proprietress Helene Garcin only produces around 500 cases of this somewhat cult-ish Pessac-Leognan. Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2009 Saint-Pierre, St-Julien (OWC - 98RP, 93JS, 93ST, 92WE, 92WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The all-time greatest wine I have ever tasted from Saint-Pierre, this estate, the smallest of the grand cru classes of St.-Julien, has an opaque purple color and a spectacular nose of subtle charcoal, creme de cassis, blackberry, and incense. Full-bodied, with striking intensity and flamboyantly rich, exuberant flavors bursting with extract, the St. Pierre has no hard edges, but rather massive, incredibly well-endowed blockbuster style, which should prove to be monumental. Give it 6-8 years to take on more definition and calm down, but this is a 30- to 40-year wine. Bravo! (RP)" (02/2012)

1945 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1945 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (100RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A consistent 100-point wine (only because my point scale stops at that number), the 1945 Mouton-Rothschild is truly one of the immortal wines of the century. This wine is easily identifiable because of its remarkably exotic, over-ripe, sweet nose of black fruits, coffee, tobacco, mocha, and Asian spices. It is an extraordinarily dense, opulent, and rich wine, with layers of creamy fruit, behaveing more like a 1947 Pomerol than a structured, powerful, and tannic 1945. The wine finishes with a 60+ second display of ripe fruit, extract, and sweet tannin. This remarkably youthful wine (only light amber at the edge) is mindboggling. (RP)" (01/1998)

1986 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1986 Margaux, Margaux (98RP, 98VN, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A magnificent example of Chateau Margaux and one of the most tannic, backward Margauxs of the last 50 years, the 1986 continues to evolve at a glacial pace. The color is still a dense ruby/purple with just a hint of lightening at the rim. With several hours of aeration, the aromatics become striking, with notes of smoke, toast, creme de cassis, mineral, and white flowers. Very full-bodied, with high but sweet tannin, great purity, and a very masculine, full-bodied style, this wine should prove nearly immortal in terms of its aging potential. It is beginning to budge from its infantile stage and approach adolescence. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2050. (RP)" (01/2003)

The penetrating fragrance of cedar, chestnuts, minerals, and rich fruit is a hallmark of this wine. Powerful, dense, rich, and tannic, as well as medium to full-bodied, with awesome extraction of fruit, this Lafite has immense potential. Patience is required. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2030. 1993 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1993 Latour, Pauillac (90JS, 90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A terrific wine for the vintage, Latour's 1993 reveals an opaque purple color, a backward, cedar, black walnut, cassis, and earth-scented nose, medium to full body, gorgeously rich, concentrated fruit, moderately high tannin (but no astringency), and a sweet, long, powerful finish. The wine does not possess any of the vegetal, green pepper characteristics of the vintage, nor any hint of hollowness or harshness. This wine may prove to merit an even higher rating. Is this vintage the modern day clone of the 1967 and 1971? Anticipated maturity: 2007-2025. Last tasted 1/97. (Bordeaux Book, 1998)" (01/1998)

Bid on this magnum lot of 1982 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (1.5L) (100RP, 95ST, 95WS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the monumental wines of the last century is the 1982 Pichon Lalande. Since bottling, it has flirted with perfection, and was a sprinter out of the gate, which gave rise to questions about how quickly it would begin its decline. However, at age 27, it retains all its glossy, rich, flamboyant cassis fruit, chocolaty, berry jam-like notes, and plenty of earthy, foresty flavors. This is a full-bodied, extravagantly rich Pichon Lalande seemingly devoid of acidity and tannin, but the wine is incredibly well-balanced and pure. It is an amazing effort! " (06/2009)

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2009 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (OWC - 100RP, (89-100WE), 98JS, 96ST, 96WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An amazing wine in every sense, this classic, full-bodied Pauillac is the quintessential Pontet Canet from proprietor Alfred Tesseron, who continues to reduce yields and farms his vineyards biodynamically a rarity in Bordeaux. Black as a moonless night, the 2009 Pontet Canet offers up notes of incense, graphite, smoke, licorice, creme de cassis and blackberries. A wine of irrefutable purity, laser-like precision, colossal weight and richness, and sensational freshness, this is a tour de force in winemaking that is capable of lasting 50 or more years. The tannins are elevated, but they are sweet and beautifully integrated as are the acidity, wood and alcohol (which must be in excess of 14%). This vineyard, which is situated on the high plateau of Pauillac adjacent to Mouton Rothschild, appears to have done everything perfectly in 2009. Th

1994 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Margaux, Margaux (91RP, (90-91ST), 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This largely forgotten vintage seems to have turned the corner in the last year or two. Because of strict selections made at the top chateaux, the wines always had density, but the level of tannin was frequently too high, and the type of tannin was more green and astringent. Chateau Margaux's 1994 has always been one of the candidates for the 'wine of the vintage.' The wine still has a dense plum/purple color and a big, sweet nose of black fruits intermixed with licorice, camphor, vanilla, and a hint of flowers. The wine is dense and powerful, but the tannins have softened and do not seem as hard and intrusive as they did in the late nineties. This wine will last for decades and hopefully become even more seamless, although it is hard to believe all the tannin will gradually dissipate. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2025. 2000 La Conseillante, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 2000 La Conseillante, Pomerol (96RP, 95WS, (90-93ST), 92JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "La Conseillante made an excellent wine in 2001, another great one in 2005, and the estate hit home runs in both 2008 and, above all, in 2009. In fact, the latter vintage may well end up being the modern-day reference point for La Conseillante. Nevertheless, there’s a lot to be said for this 2000. An elegant, gentle style that is never a blockbuster, the 2000 La Conseillante has a deep ruby/plum/purple color and an unbelievably expressive nose of sweet kirsch liqueur intermixed with raspberries, incense, toast, and licorice. Full-bodied yet ethereal in the sense that it seems to combine power along with eloquence and delicacy, this is a beautifully pure wine that has just hit its plateau of full maturity, although ideally I think it would benefit strongly from another 4-5 years of bottle age and drink well for two to three decades. 1994 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1994 Latour, Pauillac (94RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is an interesting as well as great vintage for Latour. As indicated in my barrel tasting report, Latour's 1994 possesses an atypically high percentage of Merlot (27%) in the final blend. Because of this, the wine appears to have a sweeter, more fleshy texture than is typical for a young Latour, but do not make the mistake of thinking this will be a commercially-styled, easy to drink wine. It exhibits an opaque dark ruby/purple color, and a backward, intense textbook nose of walnut and cassis scents complemented by smoky pain grille notes that build in the glass. This full-bodied, powerful, layered Latour reveals high tannin, but no bitterness or astringency. The superb purity, fabulous precision, and remarkable length should ensure 35-40 years of longevity. It exhibits sweet berry fruit intermixed with spice box, herbs, and spring flowers. Expansive, round, and sensual, with wonderful purity as well as lushness, this irresistible wine can be enjoyed over the next 6-10 years. (RP)" (06/2009)

The palate is absolutely seamless from first impression to finish, effortlessly building layers of complexity in the mouth and leading to a very long, earth and spice finish. A touch of roasted espresso bean is also present. The wine has great concentration, a magnificent, full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning purity, and well-integrated acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 95JS, 95ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the wines of the vintage, the 2000 has barely budged in its evolution since it was bottled and released in 2002. After ten years in bottle, it still reveals a dense opaque purple color along with a potentially sensational bouquet of blueberries, black currants, graphite, asphalt and background oak. Extremely powerful, full-bodied and superbly concentrated with good acidity and high but round tannins, this massive La Mission-Haut-Brion should take its place among this estate’s most hallowed vintages when it hits full maturity in another one to two decades. I was surprised by just how youthful this wine tasted at age 12. If tasted blind, I would have guessed it to be around 4 to 5 years old. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2050. (RP)" (08/2012)

1994 Angélus, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Angélus, St-Emilion (93RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " ... Another inky, purple/black-colored wine, the 1994 offers up heavenly scents of smoked meats, barbeque spices, hickory wood, and plenty of cassis and kirsch liqueur. The fruit's phenomenal purity and denseness, as well as its overall balance is admirable in view of the massive, muscular personality of this huge, full-bodied wine oozing with extract. It is a tour de force in winemaking. (RP)" (02/1997)

1997 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe ((89-90ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Very good ruby-red. Complex, expressive aromas of cassis, black cherry, licorice and animal fur. Supple but with good vinosity; ripe acids are in harmony with the wine fruit. Finishes with mouthcoating tannins and a peppery note. The top wine of St. Estephe in '97 based on my tastings this spring. (ST)" (06/1999)

1961 Beychevelle, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 1961 Beychevelle, St-Julien ((92-94RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the first 1961 clarets that I tasted and a sublime experience it was too. A beautiful, subtle nose of cedar and leather. Not complex but well-defined and unreservedly "classic". The palate still has firm tannins backed with ample sweet red fruit entwined with an earthy/cigar-box flavour. (NM)" (01/2000)

1990 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (97RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A remarkable vintage for Pichon Longueville Baron, 1990 is one of this estate’s two or three finest wines made in the last 40 years. Still inky/blue/purple-tinged to the rim, it reveals an extraordinary bouquet of charcoal, incense, creme de cassis, blue and black fruits, and a hint of licorice as well as an impressively long finish. While drinkable, its evolution is extremely slow, and I would not be surprised to see it last another two decades or more." (06/2009)

1989 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1989 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (99RP, 96WS, 95ST, 94JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1989 has taken forever to shed its formidable tannins, but what a great vintage of Lynch Bages! I would rank it at the top of the pyramid... Its dense purple color reveals a slight lightening at the edge and the stunning bouquet offers classic notes of creme de cassis, subtle smoke, oak and graphite. Powerful and rich with some tannins still to shed at age 22, it is still a young adolescent in terms of its evolutionand will benefit from another 4-5 years of cellaring. It should prove to be a 50 year wine. (RP)" (08/2011)

Full-bodied, with layers of silky fruit and masses of currant, mineral and berry character. Amazing. It's a wine with perfect structure, perfect strength. It's 1961 Latour in modern clothes. It's hard not to drink it now." (02/2005)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (99RP, 98DC, 98JS, 98VN, 98WS, 97ST, 96WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Mouton-Rothschild is as concentrated as the 2010, but it presents itself in a more consumer-friendly, seductive style. Opulently textured and full-bodied with gorgeous levels of crème de cassis, melted licorice, espresso roast and chocolate, it possesses high but sweet, velvety tannins, massive body, and fabulous purity as well as length. This could turn out to be a candidate for perfection in another 8-10 years. It will drink well for 30-50 years, but will always be much more approachable and charming than its 2010 counterpart. Full-bodied and very sweet, with fantastic concentration of ripe and botrytized fruit, yet balanced and refined. Electric acidity. Lasts for minutes on the palate. This is absolutely mind-blowing. Notes of cedarwood, roasted herbs, incense, black cherries, and currants emerge from this medium-bodied, evolved Margaux. (RP)" (06/2010)
