2008 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Margaux, Margaux (96WE, 94JS, 94RP, 93ST, 91WS). Wine Enthusiast: " *Cellar Selection* Definite richness alongside classic elegance. It's a stylish wine, the fruit integrated into a beautiful structure. It's not all refinement, because there is also a weight to the black plum skin and dark berry character. A wine that will age over many decades. (RV)" (04/2011)

Vibrant aromas of crushed boysenberry, blueberry and mineral scents. Thick, fresh, youthful and sweet; a real fruit bomb on the nose and palate. Finishes very long, with big, ripe tannins. This really transcends the vintage." (06/2001)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (97RP, 96WS, 95JS, 95WE, 94ST, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beginning to open magnificently, the still dense purple-colored 2000 reveals a blossoming bouquet of blackberries, cassis, graphite and pen ink. Full-bodied with velvety tannins that have resolved themselves beautifully over the last eleven years, this wine is still an adolescent, but it exhibits admirable purity, texture, mouthfeel and power combined with elegance. One of the all-time great examples of Lynch Bages, the 2000 is just beginning to drink well yet promises to last for another 20-25+ years. (RP)" (08/2011)

1999 Palmer, Margaux (375ml)
Bid on this 3-half-bottle lot of 1999 Palmer, Margaux (375ml) (94RP, 92ST, 91JS, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Though I have tasted many vintages of Palmer in recent months, it has been some time since I tasted the 1999 Palmer. Now at 17 years of age, it has a really quite splendid bouquet that is so fresh and vital, pure brambly red fruit, sloes and iodine. It has certainly lost some of the headiness that it showed over its first 10 years, but it is still a Palmer that likes to party. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. There is good depth here, clean and fresh with wonderful poise. This is a "correct" Palmer, self-aware that it was not born in a propitious vintage, therefore it might seem a little restrained, even conservative in character. That would ignore its precision and grace, the manner in which it gently builds to the finish. You can drink this now but I would be inclined to give it another 3-4 years. There are few better Left Bank 1999s than Palmer. (NM)"

The penetrating fragrance of cedar, chestnuts, minerals, and rich fruit is a hallmark of this wine. Powerful, dense, rich, and tannic, as well as medium to full-bodied, with awesome extraction of fruit, this Lafite has immense potential. Patience is required. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2030. 1959 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1959 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 98WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I am always blown away by the 1959 Mouton, one of the greatest Moutons made in the last thirty-five years. Every time I have this wine it is undeniable that Mouton made a richer, more persuasive wine in 1959 than in 1961. Astonishingly young and unevolved, with a black/purple color, the wine exhibits a youthful nose of cassis, minerals, and new oak. It is exceptionally powerful and super-extracted, with the fruit supported by high levels of tannin and some lusty quantities of alcohol. This mammoth, full-bodied Mouton-Rothschild should continue to evolve for another 20-30 years. It may well be a 100-year wine! (RP)" (01/1998)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (97RP, 96WS, 95ST, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Possibly the youngest wine of all the 2005 Médocs in terms of its evolution, at age 10 the inky purple 2005 Pontet-Canet tastes more like a two-year-old wine. Loads of pure blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit are present along with a hint of licorice and background oak. It is full-bodied, ripe, and excruciatingly fresh, vigorous and exuberant. This is a tour de force, and a sensational effort that rivals the first growths. Give it another 5-10 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 30-40 years. 97+ points." (06/2015)

1990 Montrose, St-Estèphe
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Montrose, St-Estèphe (100RP, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The final blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc was harvested between September 14 and October 3. The spring was cold, yet summer was extremely hot and dry – one of the hottest vintages since 1949. The fact that virtually no rain fell in September served as a catalyst to get all the grapes ripe and in cellars....This wine has an incredibly complex nose of spring flowers, blackberry and cassis liqueur, scorched earth and barbecue spice. It is full-bodied, majestic and opulent, with low acidity and fabulous fruit. It is close to full maturity. The wine should continue to drink well for at least another 30 or more years, but it is showing secondary nuances in the perfume. The wine is absolutely magnificent, broad, savory and mouth-filling. This is one of the all-time modern legends from Bordeaux as well as Chateau Montrose. (RP)" (08/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the greatest young wines I have ever tasted, the monumental 2009 Cos d'Estournel has lived up to its pre-bottling potential. A remarkable effort from winemaking guru Jean-Guillaume Prats and owner Michel Reybier, this blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot (33%) and a touch of Cabernet Franc (2%) was cropped at 33 hectoliters per hectare. Of the 2001 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien,Wine Enthusiast writes: "*Cellar Selection* A classic in development, a wine that will last for decades. It is certainly powerful, but already the shape is finalized, with its plums and berries settling down with perfumes, acidity, just enough tannins and a warm, welcoming richness. A great argument for the superiority of 2001 over 2000. (RV)" (12/2007)

1999 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Margaux, Margaux (94RP, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The sexy, dark plum/purple-colored 1999 Margaux is already revealing complex aromatics. This surprisingly charming and round offering is reminiscent of a vintage such as 1985. Although neither a blockbuster nor a heavyweight, it grows in the mouth revealing tremendous length as well as purity. Administrator Paul Pontallier prefers it to the more austere 1998, as do I. This is an archetypical Chateau Margaux of richness, finesse, balance, and symmetry. It can be drunk young, but promises to age nicely for two decades. Extrapolating backwards, it would probably have something in common with the underrated 1962 Medocs. (RP)" (04/2002)

1990 de Fargues, Sauternes
Bid on this bottle of 1990 de Fargues, Sauternes (96RP, 94WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "After a scorching summer, the 1990 de Fargues harvest began early (on September 18) and the fruit was picked over 4 tries until October 10 – the earliest harvest on record. It is the most powerful of the trilogy. Delivering 130 grams-per-liter residual sugar at 13.6% alcohol, it has a prodigious bouquet of over-ripe oranges, toffee apple, chlorophyll and even a faint hint of chocolate. The palate is medium-bodied with a luscious ripe mandarin and apricot-tinged entry, building wonderfully to a botrytis-laden finish that fans out like a firework, leaving traces of cumin and dried orange peel on the long finish. The ’90 de Fargues is simply superb in every way, a multi-faceted wonder. (NM)" (06/2013)

Bid on this 6L-bottle lot of 1989 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (6L) (98JS, 96WS, 90RP, 90ST). James Suckling: "Freshly picked blackberries turn into minty dark chocolate and oozing caramel with domineering eucalyptus on the nose. It becomes yet more complex on the palate thanks to layers upon layers of spices and sage plus fat and rounded tannins. There's a long finish with a bitter aftertaste, suggesting this could do with another 10 years or more of bottle aging. This is a Mouton I found massive at the time, then elegant and slightly austere years later, but today true to its former glory. Like the amazing 1947, it should not be forgotten." (06/2016)

1985 Haut-Brion Blanc, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1985 Haut-Brion Blanc, Pessac-Léognan (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1985 Château Haut Brion Blanc is candidate for the best dry white Bordeaux produced that decade - period. Having tasted this nectar two or three times in recent months, I can vouch for its extraordinary intensity on the nose: candied orange peel, citrus lemon, cold wet limestone and honeysuckle notes that shimmer in the glass. It almost has a Chablis-like penetration—imagine if Raveneau made white Bordeaux. The palate is perfectly balanced and after 30 years, it as fresh as a daisy, citrus fresh, with a killer line of mineralité, squeezed lime and an almost slate-like note (try licking some to see what I mean—no one will look). The tension, the depth and length of this Haut Brion Blanc are as good as you will find...if you can find it nowadays. Simply breathtaking, anyone with bottles in their cellar will be handsomely rewarded for their patience. (NM)" (06/2016)

With aromas of violets, minerals, spices, cool stones, mint, dark fruits, and plum skins, this is beautiful. Very much still a baby right now, it needs much more time. This is a wine for the next generation. Finesse and elegance, truly a wine that makes you contemplate life. This is not about power, there is really nothing like it. 93% Cabernet Sauvignon. Offering beautiful black cherry and black raspberry fruit, abundant chalk, minerality, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, and a long finish, this over-achieving, full-throttle Fronsac is a brilliant example of the vintage and of this terroir. Give it another several years of bottle age, and drink it over the following 10-15 years. This sleeper of the vintage should prove to be one of the longest-lived vintages of Vieille Cure to date. 1982 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Latour, Pauillac (100RP, 100VN, 98JS, 98WS, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Always somewhat atypical, the 1982 Latour has been the most opulent, flamboyant, and precocious of the northern Medocs, especially the St.-Juliens, Pauillacs, and St.-Estephes. It hasn't changed much over the last 10-15 years, revealing sweet tannins as well as extraordinarily decadent, even extravagant levels of fruit, glycerin, and body. It is an amazing wine, and on several occasions, I have actually picked it as a right bank Pomerol because of the lushness and succulence of the cedary, blackberry, black currant fruit. This vintage has always tasted great, even in its youth, and revealed a precociousness that one does not associate with this Chateau ... (RP)" (06/2009)

The first vintage for Pavie under Chantal and Gérard Perse, the 1998 is full-bodied, showing lots of cedar wood, forest floor, roasted herbs, black cherry and blackcurrant and new saddle leather. 2007 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (95JS, 94WE, 93RP, 92ST, 90WS). James Suckling: "Wow. Minerals, cedar, almost like warm stones in the heat. And then some spice. A wine that’s gorgeous, beautiful to taste now, but you know there’s so much more coming to it. Will be better in three to five years. But it’s already gorgeous—decant a couple hours in advance. 1995 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (6L)
Bid on this 6L-bottle lot of 1995 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (6L) (95JS, 95RP, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bottled in June, 1997, this profound Mouton is more accessible than the more muscular 1996. A blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 19% Merlot, it reveals an opaque purple color, and reluctant aromas of cassis, truffles, coffee, licorice, and spice. In the mouth, the wine is "great stuff," with superb density, a full-bodied personality, rich mid-palate, and a layered, profound finish that lasts for 40+ seconds. There is outstanding purity and high tannin, but my instincts suggest this wine is lower in acidity and slightly fleshier than the brawnier, bigger 1996. Both are great efforts from Mouton-Rothschild. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2030. (RP)" (02/1998)

1990 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (99RP, 94WS, 93ST, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This magnificent Lynch Bages has been drinking well since the day it was released and it continues to go from strength to strength. The biggest, richest, fullest-bodied Lynch Bages until the 2000, the fully mature 1990 exhibits an unbelievably explosive nose of black currants, cedarwood, herbs and spice. The majestic, classically Bordeaux aromatics are followed by a full-bodied, voluptuously textured, rich, intense wine with superb purity as well as thrilling levels of fruit, glycerin and sweetness. This beauty should continue to provide immense pleasure over the next 15+ years. (RP)" (08/2011)

2008 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (98RP, 97WE, 95JS, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A candidate for the wine of the vintage, the 2008 should have been purchased before it began to soar in value because of the significance of the number 8 in the Chinese culture (denoting good luck). Representing 40% of the production, this blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc offers aromas of high quality unsmoked cigar tobacco, lead pencil shavings, creme de cassis, earth, cedar and asphalt. Full, rich and stunningly concentrated... The 2008 should be relatively drinkable in 6-10 years as it is already showing remarkable complexity and breed, and will last for 30-35 years...at the minimum. (RP)" (05/2011)

James Suckling: "A subtle, refined 2009 with complex aromas and flavors of currants, smoke, minerals and lead pencil. Full body with ultra-refined tannins and a long, long finish. An integrated, beautiful Beychevelle. Hard not to drink now but will be much better in 2017. A wine for long-term aging." (10/2012)

2003 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Latour, Pauillac (100RP, 99JS, (96-98WE), 98WS, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Administrator Frederic Engerer says the 2003 is 'the sexiest Latour ever made.' He also described it as 'the 1990 without any brettanomyces.' I loved this wine from the barrel and was fortunate enough to be able to purchase a small quantity, enjoying every bottle I have had. A profound example of Chateau Latour, the full-bodied, opulent 2003 is already performing well at age eleven, which is somewhat atypical. The pH is a relatively high 3.8, which also indicates low acidity. The wine is very ripe, but not over-ripe, offers great freshness, and lots of creme de cassis and camphor as well as hints of blackberries and chocolate. Dense, thick and unctuously textured, this staggering Latour is undeniably the most sumptuous, opulent wine made here since the 1982 or 1961. Drink it over the next two decades. (RP)" (08/2014)

1988 d'Yquem, Sauternes
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1988 d'Yquem, Sauternes (96RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1988 Chateau d'Yquem has long been an insider's favorite over the 1989 and 1990, although at the end of the day, all three form a brilliant triumvirate at the end of the decade. Tasted from a half bottle, it shone with a slightly burnished amber hue. The bouquet is just as I have encountered with previous bottles with scents of marmalade, mandarin, burnt honey and citrus fruit, perhaps a little waxier and resinous than I recall. The palate is medium-bodied with impressive weight, viscous as you would expect, though not as flamboyant as the 1989 or as unctuous as the 1990. It is beautifully balanced with notes of apricot, white chocolate and orange peel towards the harmonious and tensile finish. You can see this cruising along for two or three decades and maybe it will turn more Barsac-like in style? Time will tell - a glorious Yquem however you look at it. (NM)" (06/2016)

2000 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 95JS, 95ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the wines of the vintage, the 2000 has barely budged in its evolution since it was bottled and released in 2002. After ten years in bottle, it still reveals a dense opaque purple color along with a potentially sensational bouquet of blueberries, black currants, graphite, asphalt and background oak. Extremely powerful, full-bodied and superbly concentrated with good acidity and high but round tannins, this massive La Mission-Haut-Brion should take its place among this estate’s most hallowed vintages when it hits full maturity in another one to two decades. I was surprised by just how youthful this wine tasted at age 12. If tasted blind, I would have guessed it to be around 4 to 5 years old. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2050. (RP)" (08/2012)

Offers pure fruit, with crushed raspberry, blackberry and dried flowers on the nose. Full-bodied, with supersilky tannins that touch every inch of the palate. Long and racy, with elegance and beauty harking back to bygone days. (JS)" (03/2008)

1998 d'Yquem, Sauternes
Bid on this bottle of 1998 d'Yquem, Sauternes (95RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Chateau Yquem was released several months ago. This estate does not allow tasting from cask (where the wine spends 42 months), and it is not released until five years after the vintage. The 1998 Yquem (95 points) is a great success. Made in an elegant style...It is well-delineated, with wonderfully sweet aromas of creme brulee, pineapples, apricots, and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, it is not as sweet as the biggest/richest Yquem vintages, but it is gorgeously pure, precise, and strikingly complex. Already approachable, it should evolve for 30-50 years ... without a doubt. (RP)" (10/2003)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Larcis-Ducasse, St-Emilion (100RP, 94CG, 94ST, 94WS, 90W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "With an unbelievable nose of licorice, tapenade, black cherry and blackcurrant liqueur, as well as full body, super-sweet tannin, and astonishing richness and length, this prodigious effort in 2005 announced the resurrection of this great terroir on the slopes near Château Pavie. Dark garnet/plum/purple, this is compelling stuff and drinkable already, but capable of lasting another 25-30 years. This beauty is not to be missed! (RP)" (06/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Coutet, Sauternes (96WS, 94-95WE, 93-95RP, 91-94VN). Wine Spectator: " Unctuous and ripe, with mouthfilling almond cream, ginger, heather honey and apricot flavors, this will need time to unwind fully, but when it does, expect more pineapple, maple and singed orange notes, as this has some depth and power in reserve, with more than enough cut for balance. A beauty in the making. Best from 2018 through 2038." (1/2016)

2009 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (100RP, 98JS, 96ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An amazing wine in every sense, this classic, full-bodied Pauillac is the quintessential Pontet Canet from proprietor Alfred Tesseron, who continues to reduce yields and farms his vineyards biodynamically a rarity in Bordeaux. Black as a moonless night, the 2009 Pontet Canet offers up notes of incense, graphite, smoke, licorice, creme de cassis and blackberries. A wine of irrefutable purity, laser-like precision, colossal weight and richness, and sensational freshness, this is a tour de force in winemaking that is capable of lasting 50 or more years. The tannins are elevated, but they are sweet and beautifully integrated as are the acidity, wood and alcohol (which must be in excess of 14%) ... (RP)" (02/2012)

Bid on this bottle of 2003 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (100RP, 98JS, 97WE, 96WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Lafite Rothschild comes as close to perfection as any of the great Lafites made over the past three decades (1982, 1986, 1996, 2000, 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2010). This sensational effort came in at 12.7% natural alcohol, it is made in the style of one of this estate’s great classics, the 1959. Composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it exhibits a dense ruby/purple color to the rim along with a luxurious bouquet of cedarwood, lead pencil shaving, white chocolate, cocoa and cassis.
