Great aging potential. A triumph." (06/2008)

2002 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (94ST, 93RP, 91JS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good saturated ruby-red. Tight nose hints at currant and smoky oak. Highly concentrated, densely packed and built to age. As young as it is, it also shows a lovely velvety texture rare for this vintage. Finishes with terrific breadth, subtle minerality and noble tannins. I've been a fan of this wine since the outset." (06/2005)

1996 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1996 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien (96RP, 94ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 is long, with a deep mid-palate. It also reveals tannin in the finish. This wine is remarkable. It is muscular, concentrated, and classic. Bottled in late June, 1998, it exhibits a saturated ruby/purple color, as well as a knock-out nose of minerals, licorice, cassis, and an unmistakable lead pencil smell that I often associate with top vintages of Lafite-Rothschild. It is sweet and full-bodied, yet unbelievably rich with no sense of heaviness or flabbiness. The wine possesses high tannin, but it is extremely ripe, and the sweetness of the black currant, spice-tinged Cabernet Sauvignon fruit is pronounced. This profound, backward Ducru-Beaucaillou is a must purchase. (RP)" (04/1999)

2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (97RP, 96WS, 95ST, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Possibly the youngest wine of all the 2005 Médocs in terms of its evolution, at age 10 the inky purple 2005 Pontet-Canet tastes more like a two-year-old wine. Loads of pure blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit are present along with a hint of licorice and background oak. It is full-bodied, ripe, and excruciatingly fresh, vigorous and exuberant. This is a tour de force, and a sensational effort that rivals the first growths. Give it another 5-10 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 30-40 years. 97+ points." (06/2015)

Wine Spectator: "**Collectibles, #3 of Top 100 Wines of 2006** Intense blackberry and cherry, with hints of currant. Toasted oak and sweet tobacco too. Roses and other flowers, such as lilacs. Full-bodied, with masses of tannins yet incredibly long and seductive. Best after 2012. (JS)" (03/2006)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2000 Charmail, Haut-Médoc (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is the finest effort I have ever tasted from this estate. It possesses great intensity, an inky purple color to the rim, a tremendous nose of minerals, white acacia flowers, creme de cassis, and black cherries, with some licorice, vanilla, and smoke in the background. It is truly great stuff...This intense, full-throttle offering is made from a blend of 50% Merlot and equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. (RP)" (04/2003)

In cask (April 1980) even tougher than Montrose. It ameliorated through the 1980s. Its bouquet needs a little coaxing, but fragrant. Crisp fruit. Good wine."

1982 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (97RP, 96JS, 96VN, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a denser version of the 1990 that stylistically reminds me of what the young 1959 probably tasted like. Still backward with a deep ruby/plum color revealing only a touch of lightening at the edge, the wine offers up an extraordinary nose of caramelized herbs, smoke, cedar, pen ink, black currants, and earth. The gorgeous aromatics are followed by a full-bodied, plump, rich, fleshy wine with low acidity. With 6-8 hours decanting in a closed decanter, it will offer beautiful drinking, but it needs another 5-8 years to reach full maturity. It is capable of lasting 50-60 years. 97+ (RP)" (06/2009)

2001 Pavie, St-Emilion
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Pavie, St-Emilion (96RP, 92WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the candidates for wine of the vintage ... again, the 2001 Pavie, from a magnificent south-facing vineyard planted primarily on limestone soil, is a blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. After a six week maceration, it spent nearly 24 months in new oak prior to being bottled unfined and unfiltered...The inky/ruby/purple-colored 2001 exhibits a tight but promising nose of crushed stones, a liqueur of blackberries, cherries, and black currants, and subtle smoke and licorice in the background. Powerful, with impressive elegance, fine harmony among its elements, a multi-layered texture, it has a finish that lasts for 50+ seconds. There is considerable tannin, but it is well-integrated. Give it 3-4 years, and drink it over the next two decades. A profound effort for the vintage, it is an example of a perfectionist proprietor pushing the envelope of qua

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Montrose, St-Estèphe (99RP, 97JS, 96ST, 95WE, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The blend in 2003 was 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot (a very high percentage), 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. The wine, unlike most 2003s, has a freshness and liveliness provided by their extraordinary terroir. This wine can be drunk now. It has a dense bluish/purple color to the rim and an extraordinary nose of blueberries and mulberries, with blacker cassis and blackberry entering the picture. Scorched earth, spice and licorice are all present in this magnificent, full-bodied, opulent wine that is very Montrose, very classic and somewhat atypical of the vintage. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1982 Certan de May, Pomerol (97JS, 93RP, 93WS, 92ST). James Suckling: "This is a reminder of how great 1982 is for Pomerol. People talk about Petrus or Le Pin as benchmarks for the year (I prefer Lafleur) but this wine from Certan de May is very, very impressive. It shows an amazing complexity and subtlety with wonderful aromas and flavors of flowers and berries. It's full bodied with refined tannins and a clean finish." (12/2013)

1986 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1986 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (94RP, 93ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1986 is finally emerging from the dormant stage that many of the wines from this vintage (especially the Medocs) have been going through. It is a full-bodied, still backward wine that will appeal to classicists and old line traditionalists given its firm structure and austere tannins. Nevertheless, the color is a healthy deep garnet and the wine exhibits wonderful freshness along with notes of underbrush, damp earth, black currants, cedar and new saddle leather. Well-balanced with good depth, medium to full body, and a tannic (although not excessively so) finish, this may not be the most finesse-styled, elegant Lynch Bages ever produced, but it is an interesting Pauillac that will benefit from another 3-4 years of cellaring. While it may never hit the peaks achieved by great Lynch Bages vintages, it will be one of those rare wines that will last 40+ years. (RP)" (08/2011)

Full-bodied, delivering firm tannins and a very fresh palate. Long and flavorful, offering currant, berries and all sorts of dark fruits, but turns lightly earthy and floral. This is a thoroughly complex wine. Just starting to really open into the mature 20-year-old wine it is, but such a great life ahead of it. Muscular. (Web-2010)"

The wine has an inky, opaque, plum/purple color and a stunningly rich nose of mulberries, bramble berries, blackberries, licorice and incense as well as touches of toast and graphite. Fabulously concentrated and full-bodied, with a multidimensional mouthfeel, this profound Pavie is in mid-adolescence. It should evolve and continue to drink well for at least another 30-40 years. The wine has a dense, dark plum/ruby color with just a bit of lightening at the edge. A sweet nose of black cherries intermixed with balsam wood, vanilla, and Provencal herbs has an almost Rhone-like character to it. It offers an extraordinary aromatic display of spring flowers, camphor, sweet red and black fruits, a hint of licorice, and no evidence of its 100% new oak cask aging. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (96RP, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As one might expect, this is a brilliant wine, but it remains shockingly young, even for the fast evolving 1990s. Its deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by a classic, nearly restrained set of aromatics that includes notions of sweet black cherries, black currants, lead pencil, and wet stones. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, and while technically low in acidity, there is a freshness, delineation, and classicism in this full-throttle, rich, concentrated, impeccable 1990. While still youthful, it is easy to appreciate despite its substantial tannins. It is not quite as backward as the 1990 Lafite Rothschild or 1990 Latour. Anticipated maturity: now-2035. 1975 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1975 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion (95VN, 90RP). Vinous: "Bright ruby-red with a hint of garnet. Enticing floral nose offers very pure raspberry and red cherry aromas, complicated by tobacco and bay leaf notes. Then sweet, dense and smooth in the mouth, with rich red cherry, plum and peppery flavors. Finishes with still chewy but noble tannins and a trace of heat. A great Cheval Blanc that is more massive than usual, showing plenty of concentrated, complex flavors and a wonderfully rich texture. In this vintage, Cheval Blanc benefited from its earlier ripening soils, which allowed the grapes to be harvested at optimal phenolic ripeness, something that eluded other Bordeaux estates that may have picked too early. The harvest took place from September 26 to October 8. This was the first vintage of Cheval Blanc ever sold en primeur. (Ian D'Agata)" (10/2011)

1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 98ST, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine remains one of the legends of Bordeaux. It has thrown off the backward, youthful style that existed during its first 25 years of life, and over the last 4-5 years has developed such secondary nuances as cedar and spice box. The creme de cassis, underlying floral note, full-bodied power, extraordinary purity, multilayered texture, and finish of over a minute are a showcase for what this Chateau accomplished in 1982. The wine is still amazingly youthful, vibrant, and pure. It appears capable of remaining fruity and vibrant in 2082! Thank God it is beginning to budge, as I would like to drink most of my supply before I kick the bucket. This is a great, still youthful wine, and, on occasion, one does understand the hierarchy of Bordeaux chateaux when you see the complexity and brilliance of this first-growth. (RP)" (06/2009)

2000 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (99RP, 96ST, 96WE, 95JS, 94W&S, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Haut-Brion (a blend of 51% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc) showed incredibly at the tasting, and for me is one of the three or four most prodigious wines of the vintage. A compelling nose of roasted herbs, scorched earth, sweet blueberries, plums, black currants, and a hint of graphite is followed by a deep, layered, sumptuously textured, full-bodied Haut-Brion, but one with extraordinary complexity. This wine seems more evolved and approachable than I had expected it to be at age 10. My window of maturity seven years ago was 2012-2040, but I would change that to 2010-2050. (RP)" (06/2010)

1989 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1989 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (99RP, 96WS, 95ST, 94JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1989 has taken forever to shed its formidable tannins, but what a great vintage of Lynch Bages! I would rank it at the top of the pyramid... Its dense purple color reveals a slight lightening at the edge and the stunning bouquet offers classic notes of creme de cassis, subtle smoke, oak and graphite. Powerful and rich with some tannins still to shed at age 22, it is still a young adolescent in terms of its evolutionand will benefit from another 4-5 years of cellaring. It should prove to be a 50 year wine. (RP)" (08/2011)

1990 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (96RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Interestingly, a bottle of 1990 Lafite Rothschild I pulled from my cellar for a video blog on my web site was still buttoned down, tight, and even with extended decanting was not showing as much as I would have hoped. However, a bottle tasted, of all places, in Seoul, Korea in February, was only a few points short of perfection. That amazing performance motivated me to pull another bottle out of my cellar and follow it over the course of two days. Sure enough, by the second day the wine was roaring from the glass. The 1990 Lafite has turned out far better than my early assessment. While it still possesses some firmness, and performs like a late adolescent in terms of its evolution, it boasts gorgeous aromas of cedar, tobacco leaf, cassis, and lead pencil shavings. The explosive aromas are followed by a fleshy, full-bodied wine that should hit its peak in 5-8 years, and last for 25

1986 Climens, Barsac
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1986 Climens, Barsac (96RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A totally compelling Climens and to my mind, every bit as good as the 1988, the 1986 is probably the best Climens made since their spectacular 1971. It is still light gold in color, with an expansive bouquet of new oak, oranges, pineapples, and other tropical fruits. In the mouth, the great richness seems all the more impressive because of the wine's remarkable clarity and definition. There is as much botrytis in the 1986 as in the 1988. Despite the intensity and extract levels, this sweet wine comes across as crisp and relatively light. The 1986 is a stunning example of Climens at its very best. (RP)" (08/1993)

1975 d'Yquem, Sauternes
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1975 d'Yquem, Sauternes (98RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1975 Château d'Yquem stands as one of the towering successes of that decade and at 40 years of age, it shows no signs of losing any of its prowess. This bottle represented one of the best that I have encountered. Iridescent in color, the bouquet soars from the glass, a pyrotechnic display of quince, Clementine, honey and a touch of aszu, lending it a slight Tokaji-like personality. It is beautifully defined and intense. The palate is pure and detailed with a killer line of acidity, vibrant honeyed fruit and a mellifluous finish that is now fully expressive. It vies with the imperious 1971 as the greatest Yquem of that era. This is simply magnificent. (NM)" (06/2015)

1998 Carruades de Lafite, Pauillac
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1998 Carruades de Lafite, Pauillac (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This has become one of the finest second wines produced. The 1998 (a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 4.5% Cabernet Franc, and 1.5% Petit Verdot) is an outstanding effort. While very Lafite-like (although more supple and forward), it exhibits a dense ruby/purple color in addition to an excellent bouquet of black fruits, smoke, earth, and minerals, supple tannin, an excellent texture, and a long, fine finish." Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2000 Beau-Séjour Bécot, St-Emilion (92RP, 92WE, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This full-bodied, modern-styled St.-Emilion offers a sensational perfume of smoky barbecue, jammy black currants, kirsch, licorice, and a touch of pain grille. Fleshy, savory, and full-bodied, it has shed much of its tannin, but still possesses abundant structure. It is an intense, modern-styled, mouthfilling, sumptuous, attention-getting wine to drink over the next decade. (RP)" (06/2010)

1988 Rieussec, Sauternes (375ml)
Bid on this 6-half-bottle lot of 1988 Rieussec, Sauternes (375ml) (93RP, 90ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1988 remains a very backward wine. Full-bodied and powerful, extremely rich and dense, it may be the least evolved 1988. The nose offers enticing coconut, orange, vanilla, and honeyed scents. The flavors are highly extracted. The wine's acidity and youthfulness suggest this wine needs another 5-10 years of cellaring. It should keep for 30 years. Last tasted 11/94. (RP)" (01/1998)

2000 Figeac, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2000 Figeac, St-Emilion (93JS, 93RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This has far more intrigue on the nose than the 2005 with the Cabernet Franc relishing this propitious growing season. Savoury fruits, a touch of fig and earth although perhaps it could just do with a little more harmony. The palate is very elegant with grainy tannins, firm grip with a tinge of espresso become more evident towards the finish. This is just beginning to develop character but it needs another decade. But great potential. Drink now-2020+. (NM)" (05/2008)
