2000 Gracia, St-Emilion (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 2000 Gracia, St-Emilion (1.5L) (96RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a big upgrade for this spectacular micro-cuvee, a true garage wine from a 4.4-acre vineyard. A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, I always find Gracia to be reminiscent of Ausone. The dense, rich 2000 reveals notes of a spring flower garden intermixed with smoky barbecue meat, blackberries, black currants, and crushed rocks. The extraordinary perfume is followed by a wine of great depth and richness, full-bodied power, and not a hard edge to be found. This velvety blockbuster is just beginning to strut all its stuff, and should age easily for another 15+ years. (RP)" (06/2010)

1990 d'Yquem, Sauternes
Bid on this bottle of 1990 d'Yquem, Sauternes (99RP, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An extraordinary effort, Yquem's 1990 is a rich and fabulously superb, sweet wine. This wine also possesses lots of elegance and finesse. The wine's medium gold color is accompanied by an exceptionally sweet nose of honeyed tropical fruits, peaches, coconut, and apricots. High quality, subtle toasty oak is well-integrated. The wine is massive on the palate, with layers of intensely ripe botrytis-tinged, exceptionally sweet fruit. Surprisingly well-integrated acidity, and a seamless, full-bodied power and richness have created a wine of remarkable harmony and purity. Certainly it is one of the richest Yquems I have ever tasted, with 50-100 years of potential longevity. An awesome Yquem! Anticipated maturity: 2003-2050+. (RP)" (04/1999)

Bid on this 6-half-bottle lot of 2009 Rol Valentin, St-Emilion (375ml) (93RP, 93WS, 92VN, (90-92WE)). Wine Spectator: "A fleshy, inviting style, with lots of crushed fig and steeped blackberry fruit woven with warmed cocoa and pain d'épices, all backed by a distinctly racy graphite note. Stays fleshy through the finish without being heavy. Best from 2013 through 2028. (JM)" (03/2012)

1996 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien (93RP, 92ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Leoville Barton appears more youthful than the 1996 Langoa Barton in the glass with a healthy deep garnet core. The aromatics unfurl gracefully in the glass revealing briary, wild hedgerow, black truffle and sandalwood scents -- firmly in secondary aroma stage but with appreciable presence and intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin that form its firm and classic structure, spice, white pepper and cloves infusing the slightly animally red berry fruit. This is an adorable Léoville Barton that is occupying a very 'happy' place at the moment -- superb precision, old school claret at its best. Decant for an hour no more, then enjoy. (NM)" (10/2016)

Deeper than Les Forts but currently rather mute in the middle. Strongly minerally. Offers classic Latour structure and spine. Finishes with sneaky, subtle persistence. 91+ (ST)" (05/2001)

James Suckling: "The purity of fruit in this is fascinating with plums, currants and other dark fruits. Then there is another layer of spices and chocolate. So much cassis. Full and very layered with chewy polished tannins and a long, long finish. Just starting to open. Changes all the time. Still needs a year or two but gorgeous to drink already." (10/2015)

1996 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (93RP, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 exhibits a dark plum/ruby/purple color that is just beginning to lighten at the edge, surprisingly velvety tannins and a classic Pauillac bouquet of lead pencil shavings, cedarwood, black currants, sweet cherries and spice box. This medium to full-bodied, elegant, savory, broad wine is still five years away from full maturity. It should continue to drink well for another 10-15 years. (RP)" (08/2011)

1955 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1955 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (97RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1955 should be a vintage to buy at auction as I suspect the price is more reasonable than what such acclaimed vintages as 1959 and 1961 fetch. The color reveals no amber or rust, only a slight lightening of intensity at the edge. The nose offers up that explosive Mouton perfume of mint, leather, cassis, black olives, and lead pencil. In the mouth, there is stunning concentration, magnificent extraction of fruit, and plenty of tannin in the long finish. The wine still tastes remarkably young and could easily last another 20-30 years. Amazing! " (10/1994)

1967 Suduiraut, Sauternes
Bid on this bottle of 1967 Suduiraut, Sauternes. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A classic vintage for Suduiraut, this rich, full-bodied, expansive, viscous, fully mature wine has a wonderful honeyed, almond, caramel-scented bouquet, rich, sweet, deep, succulent flavors, full body, and a muscular, aggressive finish. The 1967 is perhaps not a match for the 1959 or 1976, but it is certainly the best wine produced at this chateau between these two vintages. (RP)" (01/1998)

1972 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum lot of 1972 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (1.5L). The 1972 vintage was cold and cloudy, but the long-lived, elegant wine produced from this estate shows the winemaker's prowess at full steam. According to Robert Parker: "La Mission Haut-Brion tends to be a bigger, richer, more deeply colored wine than Haut-Brion. It has also been one of Bordeaux's most successful wines in mediocre or poor vintages. The 1997, 1994, 1993, 1987, 1974, 1972, 1967, 1960, 1958 and 1957 are vivid proof of that fact. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Margaux, Margaux (96W&S, 92ST, 91RP, 91WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium ruby. Cool, floral aromas of red berries, violet, cocoa powder, graphite and spicy oak, along with a whiff of smoked meat. Juicy, sharply delineated and austere; a classic, adamantly dry claret with superb intensity and grip. This is beginning to close up, unlike the '99. Medium to dark amber/gold, this full-bodied, massive wine has a very intense bouquet of vanillin oak, ripe pineapples, and melted caramel. Bid on this bottle of 1965 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac. One of the rarest vintages, the 1965 Mouton Rothschild features the artwork of Dorothea Tanning. Mouton-Rothschild, always in the forefront of the greatest wines of Bordeaux, was the first estate to begin complete chateau-bottling of the harvest -- a historic step initiated in 1924 by the late Philippe de Rothschild. It is the only chateau in the Classification of 1855 to achieve reclassification. In 1973, it was finally moved from a second growth to a first.

This is one of the most exciting young reds I have tasted in a long, long time. It shows intense aromas of berries, currants and minerals, with hints of mint. Full-bodied and packed with fruit and tannins, its long finish is refined and silky. A benchmark for the vintage. Pure, ripe aromas of cassis, graphite and cedar, lifted by floral and mineral high notes. Dense and amazingly concentrated yet light on its feet, with compelling, extremely pure flavors of spicy blackcurrant, tobacco leaf and minerals. The extremely long, slow-building and wonderfully fine-grained finish offers an exhilarating combination of power and sweetness. This comes across as quite backward today yet is anything but austere. A real essence of Margaux's great terroir, and one of my favorite wines of the vintage. 1966 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1966 Latour, Pauillac (96RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1966 Latour remains an exemplar of the vintage, certainly one of the best, if not the best Left Bank wine of the vintage. Here, served blind, its quality was a beacon, quintessentially Pauillac with that trademark graphite seam through the intense black fruit, cold stone and a touch of tobacco. It remains undimmed by its age (though this was served from a magnum of impeccable provenance). The palate is medium-bodied and that graphite theme continues unabated, flanked by beautiful, precise and pure vestiges of black fruit. "Pure class" are the final two words of my tasting note and at 50 years old, they sum up this immensely impressive Château Latour. Tasted September 2016. (NM)" (10/2016)

1989 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1989 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (98JS, 96WS, 90RP). James Suckling: "Freshly picked blackberries turn into minty dark chocolate and oozing caramel with domineering eucalyptus on the nose. It becomes yet more complex on the palate thanks to layers upon layers of spices and sage plus fat and rounded tannins. There's a long finish with a bitter aftertaste, suggesting this could do with another 10 years or more of bottle aging. Bid on this 9-bottle lot of 1999 Monbousquet, St-Emilion (OWC - 94RP, 91ST, 91WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dense ruby/purple-colored 1999 Monbousquet exhibits a port-like bouquet of super-ripe black cherry and black currant fruit intermixed with scents of coffee, tobacco, and vanilla. Tipping the scales at a whopping 14% alcohol (extremely high for Bordeaux), this wine, which spends 18 months in 100% new oak and is bottled unfined and unfiltered, is a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It was cropped at an amazingly low 30 hectoliters per hectare. It possesses an amazing texture, a mid-palate that you could get lost in, and a sensational 40-45 second finish. The exotic aromas, incredible texture, and abundant fruit are reminiscent of Pomerol's renowned micro-cuvee, Le Pin. The 1999 is even better from bottle than it was from cask. It is a remarkable effort for the vintage. (RP)" (04/2002)

The long, mineral-driven finish keeps everything firmly grounded. Approachable now, but has a ways to go.—Non-blind Pavie Macquin vertical (December 2014). Best from 2019 through 2029.
