1999 Pavie, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Pavie, St-Emilion (92RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine has a very youthful color and seems to be close to full maturity, without the density of the 1998, or its successor, the perfect 2000. It has abundant foresty notes, plenty of spice box, blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, some background toasty oak, medium to full body and sweet tannin. A very delicious wine, it offers a complex and fragrant style. It should be drunk over the next 12-15 years. (RP)" (08/2015)

2010 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 98WE, 97WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An absolutely amazing wine... It comes from one of the few biodynamic vineyards in Bordeaux, but you are likely to see many more, given the success that Tesseron seems to be having at all levels, both in his vineyards and in his fermentation/winemaking. An astounding, compelling wine with the classic Pauillac nose more often associated with its cross-street neighbor, Mouton-Rothschild, creme de cassis, there are also some violets and other assorted floral notes. The wine has off-the-charts massiveness and intensity but never comes across as heavy, overbearing or astringent. The freshness, laser-like precision, and full-bodied, massive richness and extract are simply remarkable to behold and experience. It is very easy, to become jaded tasting such great wines from a great vintage, but it is really a privilege to taste something as amazing as this ... (RP)" (02/2013)

2009 Haut-Bailly, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Haut-Bailly, Pessac-Léognan (98RP, 97JS, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A dense ruby/purple-tinged color offers up notes of forest floor, subtle wood smoke, mulberries, black cherries, cassis and a hint of lead pencil shavings. There is even a floral component lurking in the intricate aromatic profile. The wine is medium to full-bodied with wonderful intensity that builds incrementally and has a long, silky, luscious finish. There is plenty of tannin, but it is largely concealed by the wine’s beautiful fruit and ethereal complexity. Given its virtually perfect balance, this brilliant Haut-Bailly should age effortlessly for 3-4 decades. This is a tour de force in winemaking, particularly for readers seeking the quintessential example of a Bordeaux that combines compelling complexity and finesse with significant flavor authority and intensity ... Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien (100RP, 96JS, 96WE, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the more flamboyant and sumptuous wines of the vintage, this inky/purple-colored St.-Julien reveals thrilling levels of opulence, richness and aromatic pleasures. A soaring bouquet of creme de cassis, charcoal, graphite and spring flowers is followed by a super-concentrated wine with silky tannins, stunning amounts of glycerin, a voluptuous, multilayered mouthfeel and nearly 14% natural alcohol. Displaying fabulous definition for such a big, plump, massive, concentrated effort, I suspect the tannin levels are high even though they are largely concealed by lavish amounts of fruit, glycerin and extract. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2040. (RP)" (02/2012)

2010 Les Forts de Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Les Forts de Latour, Pauillac (97RP, 96JS, 95WS, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bizarre as it may sound, the 2010 Les Forts de Latour is also the finest I have ever tasted from this selection, which comes from specific vineyards, not really so much a second wine as just another wine from estate holdings. A blend of 72.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27.5% Merlot that represents 40% of the production, this astonishing wine hit 14.3% natural alcohol. Extremely ripe and rich, it reminds me of the 1982 on steroids (and that wine is still drinking great 30 years after the vintage). Sensational notes of graphite, crushed rocks, black fruits, camphor and damp forest notes are present in this expansive, savory, full-throttle wine, which is better than many vintages of the great Latour itself from the past. (That may be a heretical statement, but it’s the truth as I see it.) This wine needs a good 5-6 years of cellaring and should age for three decades at minimum, g

Full body, with a fluid center palate and chewy tannins. Round and rich. 52% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot. Better in 2018." (02/2013)

2009 Senejac, Haut-Médoc
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Senejac, Haut-Médoc (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a major sleeper of the vintage and the finest Senejac I have tasted. The team from Pontet Canet, who have done such a phenomenal job at that estate, were in charge of making this Senejac, and the result, not surprisingly, is a sensational wine that consumers need to buy by the case. Dense purple, with notes of creme de cassis, incense, licorice and forest floor, this wine is delicious and full-bodied, with sweet tannins, low acidity, copious fruit and exceptional concentration. Everything is in balance, and the wine is capable of lasting 10 or more years. (RP)" (02/2012)

2009 Clos de Sarpe, St-Émilion (375ml)
Bid on this 2-half-bottle lot of 2009 Clos de Sarpe, St-Émilion (375ml). Critic Richard Jennings included Clos de Sarpe in his round up of excellent values from St-Émilion, saying: "There are delicious wines available from this region for a tiny fraction of the price of the top names. I had a chance recently to taste through wines from a representative sampling of these middle-range St-Émilion producers, from both the 2010 and 2009 vintages. Both were strong vintages there, and virtually all are delicious, crowd pleasing wines. Lovers of Napa Cabs and Merlots will find themselves very much at home with these wines." (01/2014)

1996 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (98RP, 97JS, 96ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Lafite-Rothschild was remarkably deep in color considering that it is now 20 years in age. The bouquet is classic Pauillac with pencil shavings and sous-bois infusing the black fruit, masculine and a little aloof, yet focused and very well delineated. The palate is very well balanced with crisp blackberry and boysenberry fruit, spicier than I recollect, a crescendo of flavors so that it seems understated at first but fans out with a sense of confidence towards the finish. I think this still has more to give so cellar it away for another 5-8 years if you can, but otherwise this is an exemplary Lafite-Rothschild that I can envisage getting better and better in bottle, if not quite as enthralling as either Mouton-Rothschild or Château Margaux. 1966 Montrose, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1966 Montrose, St-Estèphe. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Montrose vertical in Stamford, the 1966 Montrose is a wine that I drank and raved about in the 1990s...Here, there are vestiges of dark berry fruit on the nose, which is now dominated by tobacco and undergrowth. It now feels foursquare and correct. Those same adjectives can be applied to the palate that has a distinct tertiary persona, slightly dry tannin and showing some attenuation towards the finish. I suspect that large formats might replicate some of the joy I found in the 1966 a few years ago, but regular bottles should be consumed sooner rather than later. (NM)" (03/2017)

1966 Beychevelle, St-Julien
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1966 Beychevelle, St-Julien (93JG). John Gilman: "Beychevelle in this era has to be one of the great unsung stars of the Médoc, and the 1966 is certainly one of the prettiest and most stunning bottles that I have tasted from this lovely château. The nose on the ’66 Beychevelle absolutely soars from the glass in a brilliant mélange of black berries, raspberries, a classic touch of Beychevelle meatiness, anise, black truffles, a whiff of mint leaf, a lovely base of earth and a pungent topnote of violet. On the palate the wine is medium-full, elegant and refined, with lovely intensity of flavor, flawless balance, and a very long, meltingly tannic, utterly refined and bouncy finish. This is one of the great sleepers still to be found in the mature claret market. A hauntingly beautiful bottle of wine cut in the Palmer mold, or more correctly, a classic Beychevelle. 1962 d'Yquem, Sauternes
Bid on this bottle of 1962 d'Yquem, Sauternes (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Fine Wine Experience 1962 Bordeaux horizontal. Moderate Clear lucid gold with green tints. The nose is very elegant and well defined, touches of wet wool, honey, wood resin and barley sugar (a la Barsac). I wish it had more vigour and complexity, for it is rather overwhelmed by the Coutet and the Suduiraut. The palate is far better than the nose with a lovely creamy, harmonious texture with perfect acidity and balance. Citrus peel, fresh ginger, dried apricot, ginger and orange sorbet with noticeable residual sugar on the finish. This is probably an underrated Yquem given market prices, but the modest nose means I must temper my appraisal. (NM)" (11/2010)

1994 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Margaux, Margaux (91RP, (90-91ST), 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This largely forgotten vintage seems to have turned the corner in the last year or two. Because of strict selections made at the top chateaux, the wines always had density, but the level of tannin was frequently too high, and the type of tannin was more green and astringent. Chateau Margaux's 1994 has always been one of the candidates for the 'wine of the vintage.' The wine still has a dense plum/purple color and a big, sweet nose of black fruits intermixed with licorice, camphor, vanilla, and a hint of flowers. The wine is dense and powerful, but the tannins have softened and do not seem as hard and intrusive as they did in the late nineties. This wine will last for decades and hopefully become even more seamless, although it is hard to believe all the tannin will gradually dissipate. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2025. Full-bodied, young and vigorous, the wine exhibits a dense blue/black color to the rim along with a stunning nose of asphalt, truffle, blackberry, cassis, lead pencil shavings and forest floor. The super-complex aromatics are followed by an opulent, majestic 2003 with a finish that lasts nearly 45 seconds. 1970 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1970 Latour, Pauillac (96RP, 94JS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at dinner at Domaine de Chevalier. The Latour ’70 can be such a variable beast. This is certainly one of the better, more representative bottles. Deep garnet in colour, nice limpidity in the glass. It has a beautiful nose that to be honest, sweeps aside the respectable Domaine de Chevalier ’70 poured alongside, like a lord dismissing his servant with a swish of his hand. Graphite, wild black fruit, freshly rolled tobacco and a faint hint of truffle. The palate is medium-bodied and after forty years, still quite austere but the balance is nailed. Masculine and foursquare, a Latour with a lot of horsepower…but not necessarily revving in top gear…at least not after four decades. Lovely cedar and mint on the long, long finish. Wonderful. 1970 Haut-Brion, Graves
Bid on this bottle of 1970 Haut-Brion, Graves (92RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1970 Château Haut-Brion is a First Growth that has probably been over-shadowed by the Latour 1970 during its lifetime. However, this bottle proves that it is not to be underestimated; it highlights the glaring gap that exists between itself and another First Growth, the 1970 Château Margaux that I tasted alongside. There is plenty of vigor on the nose with dashing red berry fruit, cedar and black olive - just very Haut-Brion.The palate is medium-bodied, well balanced and fresh, nothing over-ambitious, just a Claret in the traditional sense of the word that gently builds towards a sous-bois dominated finish. This is an excellent showing, stout and a little austere, and you could argue an Haut-Brion with its peak in its wing-mirrors. Yet good bottles such as this will continue to offer pleasure for another decade. (NM)" (07/2016)

2007 Bellevue-Mondotte, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Bellevue-Mondotte, St-Emilion (94RP, 93ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Very little wine is produced (about 400 cases) from this tiny 5-acre vineyard, but it is always among the most concentrated and richest of Bordeaux. The inky/purple-colored 2007 offers sweet cassis fruit notes interwoven with notions of graphite, chalk dust, and toast. Full-bodied with terrific purity and intensity (14.5% alcohol), it should drink well for 20+ years. (RP)" (04/2010)

2005 Climens, Barsac
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Climens, Barsac (97RP, 95WS, 94CG, 94ST, 93W&S, 92WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the 10-Year On Tasting in Sauternes. The 2005 Château Climens just soars from the glass with layers of clear honey, marmalade, nectarine and minerals all beautifully carved. The palate is medium-bodied with fresh, vibrant honeyed fruit that builds and builds in the mouth in tandem with a killer line of acidity. Even though it is a convincing, great Climens, you also have the impression that it is only just beginning to show what it is capable of. Bérénice Lurton and her team excelled in this vintage and it comes strongly recommended. (NM)" (06/2015)

Bid on this bottle of 2010 Léoville-Las Cases, St-Julien (100WE, 99JS, 99WS, 96RP, 95ST). Wine Enthusiast: "A hugely powerful wine, full of dark, brooding tannins. It's a wine for seriously long-term aging, a sculptural vision of classic Bordeaux structure with with classy, ripe blackberry fruits. It has fresh acidity and an immense full-bodied character, cut through with mineral acidity. A great wine, with great potential. *Ranked #21, Top 100 Cellar Selections of 2013* (RV)" (03/2013)

2008 La Violette, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 2008 La Violette, Pomerol (95RP, 90ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Fashioned from yields of 18 hectoliters per hectare with 13.5% natural alcohol, the opaque ruby-hued 2008 exhibits tell-tale floral notes intertwined with raspberries, sweet black cherries, licorice and cassis. Medium to full-bodied, beautifully concentrated and strikingly pure as well as multilayered, the 2008, despite its precociousness, will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and keep for 20-25 years. It is one of the top successes of the vintage. (RP)" (05/2011)

1988 Rieussec, Sauternes
Bid on this bottle of 1988 Rieussec, Sauternes (95RP, 90ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted in Sauternes with Charles Chevalier, the 1988 Rieussec is a vintage that Chevalier himself claimed to be his favorite. I can understand why. It has an unerringly youthful bouquet with vibrant citrus fruit, wild honey, mandarin and mineral scents, a bouquet that seems to have electricity flowing through it. The same can be said for the palate that is full of tension and vigor, almost clinical in terms of focus with alluring viscosity and wonderful length. This bowled me over with its charm and breeding. Hunt a bottle down and share with your best friends—this is a superlative Rieussec, one of the best produced. Tasted April 2016. (NM)" (01/2017)

2006 Sociando Mallet, Haut-Médoc
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Sociando Mallet, Haut-Médoc (93WE). Wine Enthusiast: "With a high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine has both structured and superbly rich fruit. The tannins are firm, but show a sweet, enticing edge to them, giving a full body and classic, fresh black currant acidity. An impressive wine, which definitely needs to age—five years or more. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (03/2009)

1966 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1966 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "My God, this is a wonderful mature Lafite. Served blind chez Rosemary George MW it has a definable Pauillac nose with subtle notes of cedar, sous-bois and a touch of dried blood. It has incredible harmony and purity – a bouquet that has you instantly captivated. The palate does not disappoint: a beguiling sense of natural harmony and delineation, not the weight of Latour nor the femininity of Margaux, but a Lafite aiming for understated sophistication. Delicate cedar and cigar box towards the finish that just goes on and on. This bottle vindicates my first encounter in Bordeaux, when it similarly bewitched its audience. Absolutely sublime. A point. Tasted April 2008. (Neal Martin-Wine Journal)" (07/2008)
