1992 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1992 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1992 Les Pavots, reminiscent of a top-class St.-Julien/Pauillac, is the first vintage that has begun to exhibit some complex cedar, lead pencil, and cassis aromas. Medium to full-bodied, with impressive richness, this layered, intense yet balanced wine still needs another 2-3 years of cellaring, although it reveals more immediate charm and secondary aromas than its three younger siblings. It is a wine that will last for at least 20+ years. The blend for Peter Michael's Les Pavots proprietary red wine varies year to year, but the composition usually includes at least 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5%-15% Merlot, and 5%-15% Cabernet Franc. Since its bottling, this deep, saturated purple-colored wine has taken on a gorgeous nose of cassis intermixed with violets, licorice, and attractive spicy oak. Sweet, rich, and surprisingly showy for a Les Pavots, this medium to full-bodied wine possesses a luscious, multi-layered texture, outstanding depth, and attractively integrated tannin and acidity. When I tasted it, it was more evolved and delicious than I had anticipated given its recent bottling. (RP)" (12/1997)

1997 Arrowood "Réserve Spéciale" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon Back In Stock!
1997 Arrowood "Réserve Spéciale" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

96 points Wine Spectator: "An ideal combo of youth and age, this is lush and rich, but still has backbone and muscle." (2/2015) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Speciale was even better. Here’s a wine coming up on 20 years of age in another 18 months, and it is still remarkably young and vigorous. Dense purple, with beautifully sweet crème de cassis and blackberry fruit intermixed with incense, graphite, and a touch of oak, this was a great year for North Coast varietals, and this wine is lavishly rich, with a multi-dimensional texture and a super-intense, full-bodied finish – ju ...Read More »

Bid on this magnum lot of 2001 Arrowood Cabernet Sauvignon "Réserve Spéciale" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (95RP, (90-91ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the most underrated Cabernet Sauvignons made in the world is Arrowood’s 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Speciale. Made from an assortment of vineyards in Sonoma, Alexander Valley and Dry Creek, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was aged for 23 months in primarily French oak. Its youthful dense purple color is followed by notes of truffles, spring flowers, new saddle leather, creme de cassis, cedar and spice box. Fabulously full-bodied, pure and multidimensional, but still youthful, it is not as backward as the Monte Rosso, and should hit its peak in another 2-4 years and age effortlessly over the following 20-25 years. 99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another great showing for a wine from this vintage, the 2004 La Joie is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. The majority of the fruit came from the Alexander Mountain Estate, followed by Knight’s Valley, Bennett Valley and Chalk Hill. Full-bodied, powerful and concentrated, it is richer than either the 2003 and 2001, and comes closer to the 2002’s personality. A big sweet kiss of incense, bay leaf, white chocolate, black cherries, black currants and a touch of smoke jump from the glass of this opaque purple-colored wine. 2004 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma/Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2004 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma/Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (96RP, 95WE, 94CG, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The two flagship wines of this brilliant estate, which straddles the Sonoma and Napa county lines at the top of Spring Mountain, include the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot). Sixty-eight percent of the fruit comes from Sonoma and 32% from Napa. It exhibits classic notes of creme de cassis, licorice, cedarwood, incense and a hint of toasty oak in the background. Full-bodied, opulent, profound deep, rich and full with velvety edges, the tannin can be detected, but it is wonderfully integrated in this mountain-styled Cabernet. It continues Pride’s impressive track record with these special cuvees. The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve can be drunk young or cellared for two decades or more. More nuances and complexity will undoubtedly emerge over the next 4-5 years. (RP)" (04/2014)

2005 Chateau St. Jean "Cinq Cepages" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

Robert Parker: "The medium to full-bodied, dark ruby/purple-tinged 2005 Cinq Cepages Proprietary Red Wine (83% Cabernet Sauvignon) reveals a certain austerity along with complex notes of roasted herbs, sweet red and black currants, and a dusty, loamy character. It will benefit from another year or so of bottle age, and should keep for 10 years." (12/2008)

2006 Chateau St. Jean "Cinq Cepages" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

It’s beautifully clean and dry, with sound currant, blackberry, herb tea and cedar flavors, but is missing a certain fatness in the middle." (6/2010) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Cinq Cepages (in this vintage, truly a Cabernet Sauvignon rather than a proprietary red as it is a blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot) possesses soft, sed ...Read More »

2006 Laurel Glen Sonoma Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (Pre-Arrival)

93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Inky ruby. An expansive bouquet displays flamboyant dark berry compote, cherry-cola, licorice and dried rose. Palate-staining cassis and kirsch flavors are framed by silky tannins and gain an exotic candied floral quality with air. For such a deeply concentrated wine, this is strikingly lithe and precise. The finish strongly echoes the red fruit and floral notes and clings impressively. In 2012, Kenwood partnered with Sonoma artist Nathan Wirth to create the label that represents this vintage. Absolutely remarkable in every sense -- the incredible pure aromatics of blue, red and black fruits, the minerality, the volcanic, earthy sweetness that emerges in a subtle fashion, the full-bodied opulence, the staggering finish of more than a minute, and its unreal concentration certainly make this one of the most compelling and profound Cabernet Sauvignons I have ever tasted, and the first perfect wine of 2016. 2014 Kokomo "Cuveé" Sonoma County Red Blend

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Perfumed and high-toned, this is an impressively crafted and priced blend of 35% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Malbec, 16% Grenache and 5% Petite Sirah. It shows a peek into each variety's personality, luxuriating in black pepper, leather, meat and black jam, with a juicy lushness to the palate." (3/2017) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cuvée is a proprietary red blend and has a dense ruby/purple color, loads of sweet black cherry and blackcurrant fruits, and a nice whiff of oak and spice box. It is medium-bodied, well-made, tasty and accessible. Drink it over the next 7-8 ...Read More »

2014 Arnot-Roberts "Clajeux Vineyard" Chalk Hill Cabernet Sauvignon

94 points Vinous: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Clajeux Vineyard offers striking purity in its aromatics and flavors. Bright red stone fruit, flowers, chalk, mint and a host of ferrous notes are all pushed forward. Tense and slightly nervous on the palate, with terrific energy, the Clajeux captures all the signatures that make Chalk Hill Cabernets so distinctive. I imagine the 2014 will be slow to unwind. Even today, though, it is very attractive. Arnot-Roberts fans will note a few changes to the range this year. Sadly, there is no Legan Pinot Noir in 2015, as there was ess ...Read More »

2014 Decoy Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon (Previously $24.00)

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Made for broad release, this wine impresses for its rounded, approachable layers of dried herb and anise, the tannin and oak lightly applied. Blended with 10% Merlot, it finds a jolt of richness on the finish, a showcase for notions of chocolate, cherry and blackberry." (2/2017) K&L Notes: About the producer: "Since the inaugural vintage of our Decoy Napa Valley Red Wine almost a quarter century ago, Decoy has taken an important place in the Duckhorn Wine Company family of wines. With a reputation for delivering great quality at a remarkable price, Decoy has establis... Read More »

2014 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L)

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Proprietary Red Les Pavots (3,570 cases) is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 13% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot aged in mostly Taransaud barrels with a small helping of Darnajou thrown in. This wine is fabulous in the vintage, although certainly less profoundly concentrated and extracted, as well as structured, compared to the 2013, which was off-the-charts fabulous. This is a brilliant wine, charming, with front-end loaded plum, blackcurrant and black raspberry fruit interwoven with graphite, tar and truffle notes. The wine ha ...Read More »

2014 Louis M. Martini Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the best values in Cabernet Sauvignon anywhere in the world remains Louis Martini’s Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County (89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot and the rest Petite Sirah, Cabernet Franc and other varieties) is just a beautiful wine. Dense ruby/purple with classic tobacco leaf, blackcurrant, loamy soil notes and a touch of wood spice, this wine (aged 16 months in French and American oak) has relatively modest alcohol for Cabernets these days (13.5%), and what’s even more remarkable is that there are 408,0 ...Read More »

2014 Arnot Roberts "Montecillo Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

94 points Vinous: "Graphite, smoke, crushed rocks and black cherry/plum notes make a strong first impression in the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Montecillo Vineyard. Powerful and structured, with beams of supporting mountain tannin, the 2014 is wonderfully complete. This is a fabulous wine from one of Sonoma's top vineyard sites. Arnot-Roberts fans will note a few changes to the range this year. Sadly, there is no Legan Pinot Noir in 2015, as there was essentially nothing to harvest in the field after what turned out to be a very challenging growing season. The same was true of ...Read More »

2014 Laurel Glen "Counterpoint" Sonoma Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Blended with 10% Merlot, this wine sources grapes both from its famous estate, as well as from nearby Pickberry and Murray vineyards. It delights in luxuriously bright acidity and a jammy explosion of blackberry, chocolate, clove and tobacco, the texture roundly approachable. (VB)" (12/2016) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Counterpoint gives youthful notes of crushed blackberries and black currants with hints of cedar and dried herbs. Full-bodied, firm and muscular, it gives a solid backbone of chewy tannins and nice purity, though ...Read More »
