2010 Palazzo "Right Bank" Napa Valley Red

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 is another wine of great intensity but coiled, very tight, with high levels of tannin. Sensational in extraction and rchness, this blend of 72% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon is the product of a cool year in Napa. It shows fabulous density, richness, and intensity. Perhaps it will evolve somewhat like the brilliant 2005 has, but it is still excruciatingly young, intense, promising, but needs to be forgotten for at least another 4-5 years and drunk over the following two decades... 2010 Heitz Cellar "Trailside Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

94 points Vinous: "A rich, dark wine, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Trailside Vineyard possesses superb depth and texture while maintaining a classic sense of structure. Sweet dark cherry, plum, cedar, tobacco, licorice and mint all take shape as this succulent, resonant wine shows off its expressive personality. Drink this deep, pliant Cabernet Sauvignon over the next two decades. The combination of ripeness from the late season hear and structure is hugely appealing. 2010 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Top Pick!
2010 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

96 points Vinous: "Not surprisingly, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Martha's Vineyard is the least expressive of these wines. At the same time, so much of its appeal is in its tightly-coiled energy and tension. Cherry pit, smoke, blood orange, mint and spice open up with time in the glass, but the 2010 is clearly built for cellaring. The wine's brightness and focus are compelling, but the 2010 needs time. 2010 Paul Hobbs Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley wraps around the palate with mocha, chocolate, violets and new leather. Despite its explosive personality, the straight Napa Valley bottling is pretty approachable for the vintage. I especially like the focus of the finish. In 2010, the Cabernet Sauvignon includes 6% Cabernet Franc. The vineyard sources are State Lane, Stagecoach and Mast. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. 92+ points. 2010 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 98JS, 95VN, 95WE, 95WS, 93CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A remarkable wine, the 2010 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select has gone from strength to strength since it was in cask. It is stunningly rich, with classic, fragrant notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, vanilla, graphite and spring flowers. It exhibits an opaque purple color, with a full-bodied, massive mouthfeel, but no heaviness, and again, a flawless integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. It’s classic California Cabernet, but beautifully put together, showing impeccable craftsmanship and fabulous potential. This is obviously a very young, infantile style of Cabernet that won’t hit its prime for at least another decade and last close to half a century, based on how older vintages that were less well-endowed have matured from Shafer. 2010 Vineyard 29 "CRU" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Vinous: "One of the very best values in Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Cru bursts from the glass with dark red cherries, plums and tobacco. The 2010 is totally gorgeous from start to finish. There is more than pure vibrancy and freshness to support the generous, opulent fruit in this striking, beautifully delineated Cabernet Sauvignon. 2010 Spring Mountain Vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* Very smooth, yet mouth-drying with firm tannins, this Cabernet is a bit lean, but it defines the elegance that Napa is capable of. The blackberry and currant flavors are balanced by earthier notes of green olives, cola and dried herbs, while the oak is subtle, even though it's all new. Grows more interesting as it warms in the glass, and the alcohol level is a moderate 13.6%. Blended from all five classic Bordeaux varieties, it will improve in the bottle over the next eight years." Rose petals, violets, new leather and a hint of orange peel appear on an exotic, perfumed finish laced with veins if dark red and blue fruits. Bob Foley (not to be confused with Foley from the Central Coast) has made wine in the Napa Valley since 1977, at Pride Mountain, Paloma and other prestigious labels. Vivid notes of graphite, pencil shavings, plums, cassis and grilled savory herbs come to life in a vivid, kaleidoscopic wine of notable pedigree. The aromatics alone are breathtaking, but the truth is that everything about the 2010 is phenomenal. Endless layers of fruit flow through to the complex, insanely beautiful finish. Rich with nicely integrated oak, plenty of structure and tannin, much of which is concealed by the extravagant fruit quality, this beauty should age handsomely for 10-15+ years. Juicy, spicy and tight but not hard, with a pungent core of acidity and an impression of briary, earthy minerality giving the wine plenty of personality. This firmly tannic cabernet smells a bit raw in the way of a young barrel sample. 'Not the sun-baked fruit of 2009,' noted assistant winemaker Crafton. 'It was hard to get superripeness in 2010.'" Totally alive in the glass, the 2010 captures the essence of this cold, late harvest. Hints of menthol, violets and crushed rocks all flow through to the incisive, vibrant finish. Black cherries, plums, violets, new leather and tar are woven together nicely. This, too, is sumptuous, powerful and intense. Hints of chocolate, mocha and espresso are layered into the finish. 2010 Vineyard 7 & 8 "Estate" Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The gorgeous 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate from Spring Mountain displays an opaque purple color along with an intense nose of black currants, licorice and flowers. This rich, full-bodied, well-balanced Cabernet possesses sweet tannin, adequate acidity for uplift and well-integrated wood and alcohol. Especially appealing is the wine’s multilayered texture and long finish. Quite simply, it is the finest wine I have yet tasted from Vineyard 7 & 8. It should drink well for 10-15+ years. Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2010 Larkmead "Solari" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (98JS, 96RP, 96VN, 93ST). James Suckling: "This is like Mouton 1982 on the nose with lead pencil, blackberry, mint and asphalt. Iodine, iron and blood, too. Toasted oak and coffee. Full body with an incredible depth of fruit and structure to this red. The texture of velvet is compelling and makes you contemplate all great wines. A pinnacle of pure Napa Cabernet. Reserved opulence. Please give this at least three to five years to soften with bottle age: Try in 2018." (10/2014)

2010 Turnbull "Leopoldina" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Turnbull "Leopoldina" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 93WS, 92JS, 91WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Leopoldina Vineyard, which comes from the volcanic red soils so prevalent in Oakville, exhibits brilliantly sweet creme de cassis, Christmas fruitcake, spring flower, forest floor, blue, black and red fruits, and subtle background oak characteristics. The finish is, again, 45-50 seconds. This full-bodied, modern day classic is strikingly rich and very young, so give it 5-7 years to achieve fully maturity, and drink it over the following 20-30+ years. (RP)" (10/2013)
