The intensely flavorful wines from Rutherford's Trailside Vineyard have been part of the Heitz range since 1989. The vineyard is flanked by the Silverado Trail on one side and Conn Creek on the other and is certified organic. According to the winery: "From first sip to glorious finish, the 2004 Trailside Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon captures the essence of this superb vintage. This wine is a Rutherford classic, deeply-hued and powerful, with a lush bouquet of fresh raspberry. Its vibrant core of Cabernet fruit is beautifully wrapped in French oak with a s... Read More »

2007 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (375ml)

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the finest Private Reserves made over the last two decades, this phenomenal wine is obviously still an infant in terms of development, but it exhibits a dense purple color as well as an extraordinary nose of blackberries, white chocolate, licorice, tobacco leaf, smoky barbecue, charcoal and a burning ember-like note reminiscent of a Graves from Bordeaux. A dense, luscious, full-bodied, opulent style, with sweet tannin, this locked and loaded, intense, full throttle Private Reserve should be accessible in 5-6 years and last for 25-30. 2006 Beaulieu Vineyard "Tapestry Reserve" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Proprietary Red Wine Tapestry Reserve (a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot) is the finest example of this cuvee I have ever tasted. Flowery, licorice-infused, cassis notes intermixed with forest floor and lead pencil shavings are followed by a layered, impressively built wine with real opulence, lots of red and black fruits, low acidity, and lush tannin. It should drink well for 15+ years." (12/2009) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "A terrific wine, delicious and classic in structure. 2002 Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Wine Spectator: "Lots of rich, creamy oak and a tasty core of ripe currant, plum and black cherry fruit combine to form this notably complex and concentrated young wine. Delicious from start to finish, with a long, fruity aftertaste and fine-grained tannins. (JL)" (12/2004) 92 points Connoisseurs Guide: "There are arguments to be made that this inviting young wine is a little too forward and too reliant on oak, but for all of its debt to sweet, creamy spice, it is solidly fruity at its heart and has the extract good Cabernet Sauvignon needs. It is quite ripe, fairly full in the mouth and surprisingly su ...Read More »

2006 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

91 points Wine & Spirits: "This is a dark fruited and floral 2006, with more of the tobacco and green herb character than most growers in Napa Valley allow Cabernet to express. That varietal character adds complexity and firm structure to a rich and sleek wine. cellar it for several years to let the oak integrate into fruit, then serve with prime rib." (10/2011) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "A good wine, with jammy Cabernet flavors of blackberries, cassis and savory spices. 2005 Heitz Cellar "Trailside Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points John Gilman: "The folks at Heitz are very bullish about the quality of the Trailside bottling, and given the quality of the fruit here, I can see why this is the case. But this wine has a bit of work to do carrying one hundred percent new oak, and at this young age it is still rather marked by its oak component on both the nose and (to a lesser degree) the palate. To be fair to this wine, it is three years younger than the ’02 Bella Oaks that was tasted alongside of it, and consequently it has had nowhere near the same amount of time to integrate its wood. 2005 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beringer’s 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve comes from the top selection from all their different holdings, with each vineyard aged separately for close to two years, then blended for quality. This blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc is a gorgeous example of the Private Reserve. Of course, it probably suffers from the fact that Beringer is part of a gigantic international conglomerate, but this is just a stunning wine – inky purple, with plenty of cassis, a hint of espresso, subtle background oak and forest notes. 2007 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 94VN, 92JS, 92WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A great wine in the making, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (just under 10,000 cases produced) possesses a fragrant bouquet of sweet black currants, crushed rocks, earth and background oak. Full-bodied and dense, with Montelena’s typical power, tannin and reserved nature, this is a big, rich, formidably endowed red that requires 4-5 years of cellaring. That in itself is atypical of this exuberant, flamboyant vintage. Given this cuvee’s past history, this 2007 should age for 30+ years. (RP) 94+ " (12/2010)

2005 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

90 points Wine & Spirits: "Casual elegance defines this California classic. It's an herbal Cabernet, with scents of grape skins and black olives rising out of the earthy tannin. Round and smooth in the middle, this ends with a clean and gentle feel. Ready for rack of lamb." (8/2010) Connoisseurs Guide: "Very much in the rich yet mannerly tradition of Silver Oak Cabernets, this wine is medium-full in body, supple and reasonably well-polished all in all. At once dense and bright; solidly structured yet already quite sweet and showy. I've used the term "dead fruit" to describe wines made from overripe, desiccated grapes; this is the opposite of dead fruit. Finishes very long and sappy, with firm but suave tannins. Its dark ruby/purple color is followed by a sweet perfume of blue and black fruits as well as loamy soil scents. Medium to full-bodied with sweet tannin, but none of the herbaceousness or strong, dusty character often found in Alexander Valley Cabernets, this is a well-crafted offering from French consultant, Philippe Melka. Over the last ten or more years, the administration at Mouton Rothschild, particularly the team led by Philippe Dhalluin, has truly pushed the level of quality to the point where this is clearly one of the great wines of Napa. 2003 Groth Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon

This outstanding vintage shows the ultimate character that we expect from our estate vineyards. It reveals a liqueur of crushed rocks intermixed with a smorgasbord of spring flower, blueberry, creme de cassis, and assorted blue, black, and red fruit characteristics. It also possesses extraordinary concentration, but what sets it apart is the fragrant aromatics combined with uncommon purity and elegance for such a full-bodied, massively concentrated wine. 97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Helms Vineyard (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) has turned out even better than I predicted last year. Abundant aromas of black cherries, black currants, cedar, spice box, and licorice are followed by a wine boasting terrific intensity, full-bodied power, and an expansive, long, savory finish with no hard edges. The integration of wood, tannin, and acidity is flawless. This is a riveting example of Rutherford Bench Cabernet Sauvignon that should age effortlessly for 25+ years. 2001 Justin "Isosceles" Reserve Paso Robles Red Blend

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Justin’s flagship offering, the unfiltered 2001 Isosceles Reserve (73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, and 1% Malbec), boasts a blockbuster perfume of incense, black currants, spice, flowers, and subtle wood. Voluptuous in the mouth, with tremendous fruit purity, a beautiful, multi-layered texture, and a long finish, this terrific offering is about as good as Bordeaux varietals can be in this sector of California’s Central Coast. Although accessible, this tour de force in winemaking will drink well over the next 10-15 ...Read More »

2007 Crocker & Starr "Stone Place" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (375ml)

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Perhaps the best wine I have ever tasted from Crocker & Starr is the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Stone Place. One hundred percent Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in French oak, this 500- to 550-case cuvee from the organically managed Stone Place Vineyard is a dense ruby/purple color, with a classic nose of unsmoked cigar tobacco intermixed with blackberries, licorice, subtle barbecue smoke, and cassis. A gorgeous, full-bodied texture, excellent purity, and well-integrated acidity, wood, and tannin all make for a thrilling wine to drink over the next 15-20+ ...Read More »

1997 Spring Mountain "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Back In Stock!
1997 Spring Mountain "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Another wine in what we have come to call the 'black-beauty' style. It has heavily toasted oak, espresso, black cherry and menthol aromas and flavors. The fruit seems subdued here, but the wine is nevertheless well integrated, with a full mouthfeel and long finish." (11/2000) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Possesses a Bordeaux-like austerity, as well as abundant quantities of sweet cassis, cedar, and spice notes in the complex bouquet. The dark ruby color is followed by a dense, concentrated wine with an emphasis on elegance and symmetry as opposed to power and flamboyance. The finish i ...Read More »
