94 points James Halliday: "Once again it applies the blowtorch to the value equation. It's varietal, complex-enough and quite exquisitely well composed. Its like a set of well-chosen words. Sweet-sour cherry, cranberry, dried herbs, sap. Oak aids texture and polish more than flavour, though oak spice through the finish is hard to resist. The words fleshy and fresh are apt here." The pride of Australia is now available here at K&L! After sweeping Double Gold at the San Francisco Spirits competition and wowing serious fans of gin around the world, Four Pillars is bringing its incredible gins from down under to the U.S. Utilizing "four pillars" of success (quality German copper stills, pure Yarra Yarra Valley water, unique Australian botanicals and love, of course), the team of Aussies has created what we think is the best portfolio of high-quality, serious gins we've ever tasted. The standard Rare Dry release takes a clean and pur... Read More »
96 points James Halliday: "Hand-picked, destemmed, whole berry, 14-day ferment, matured for 11 months in French oak. Willowlake is the oldest Upper Yarra vineyard, and always has that little bit extra in fruit complexity - both red and black fruits, even if red is still the leader - fine tannins and oak totally in balance." (9/2015) K&L Notes: Another fantastic single vineyard Pinot from Oakridge, this time it's the Willowlake Vineyard Pinot Noir. Oakridge's wines re-define what many people think of Australian wines...they're the polar opposite of the over-ripe, over-extracted, "Fruit Bombs" p... Read More »
95 points James Halliday: "The relatively light color and perfumed bouquet are typical of this Upper Yarra vineyard, as is the understated elegance and finesse of the palate, spicy/savory red fruits and silky tannins in a back-up role. If 250 dozen had been made, not 245, it would have won the Jimmy Watson Trophy." (9/2015) 92 points Vinous: "Vivid red. Vibrant, spice-accented red and dark berry scents pick up notes of succulent herbs and minerals with air. Juicy, focused and energetic on the palate, offering sappy black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors with hints of five-spice powder and mocha. Clos ...Read More »

92 points Wine & Spirits: "Jo Nash makes this wine at the McPherson Wine Company in the Strathbogie Ranges, blending fruit from sources throughout Central Victoria. Five percent mourvedre comes through in a little saddle leather and spice; two percent viognier adds lifted, floral aromas. It’s a pretty red color and has a tight line of flavor, savory with notes of dried red currants and black olives. The tannic grip and fine weight make this a steal at the price." (6/2016) Wine Spectator: "Distinctive, with white pepper and fresh-cracked black pepper aromas. Black tea details accent the robust blackb ...Read More »
95 points James Halliday: "**Special Value Selection** A prototype of the modern drinking red. Complex, charming, mid-weight without being lacking, fragrant, lengthy. Sweet fruit meets smoky reduction meets wood meets savoury herbs. Shine a light into any of its nooks and you'll find something fascinating. Don't hesitate, drink it now." (1/2016) K&L Notes: Winemaker's Notes: "The 2014 Massale reveals wild raspberry and black cherry aromas along with earthy notes of cardamom and undergrowth. The palate has lovely control and flow, from its core of fleshy red fruit through to the finish that is ... Read More »

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet with a touch of purple, the 2009 Cluster M45 Shiraz has notes of fragrant earth and forest floor over youthful black fruits and tar. Full-bodied and built like a brick house with firm chewy tannins and a nice acid backbone, it has a wonderfully long, earthy finish. (LBP)" (2/2015) 93 points Vinous: "Dark purple. Deeply pitched aromas of dark berry preserves, cherry-cola, vanilla and licorice. Velvety and seamless in texture, offering sappy blueberry and cherry flavors that coat and stain the palate. Extremely rich but not at all heavy (this weighs in at a relativ ...Read More »

Winemaker Larry Cherubino has crafted a delectable cool-climate Pinot from specially selected vineyards across the Yarra Valley. Tasting notes for the 2015 vintage from the winemaker: "Lovely varietal intensity in the wild strawberry and cherry, lightly savory spectrum, vibrant and juicy, with gentle French oak influence."
Wine Spectator: "Soft and fizzy, with pretty black raspberry and hints of smoke in the flavor mix, finishing with deftness. (HS, Web-2013)" K&L Notes: A non-vintage wine combining base wines that span several years, this sparkling Shiraz shows depth of flavor with true varietal character and style. Deep crimson in color, it displays fresh berry fruit aromas complemented by subtle vanillin oak characteristics. Soft, full and flavorsome, the palate is intense and persistent with firm structure. The rich fruit sweetness of Shiraz is balanced with natural tannin and acid giving a lively,... Read More »
A fantastic, refreshing, aromatic white that is a field blend of 40% Savagnin, 25% Gewurztraminer, 25% Pinot Gris and 10% Chardonnay. This is crisp, floral and ultimately drinkable. Perfect with lighter food, Asian spices or sushi.
95 points James Halliday: "Very good colour, slightly deeper than Applejack; a vibrantly savoury pinot, with cherry-accented fruit woven through a spicy/foresty palate of excellent length and persistence. Will richly reward 5 years in the cellar." 92 points Vinous: "Vivid red. Displays sexy, spice-accented red fruit and floral pastille scents and suggestions of dried flowers, anise and woodsmoke. An undercurrent of zesty minerality gives focus and lift to the plump raspberry and bitter cherry flavors, which flesh out and sweeten with air. The spicy quality comes back on the subtly tannic finish, which ...Read More »
Sourced from Goulburn Valley, Victoria, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is screw cap bottled and represents a rustic, savory line of the McPherson family's wines. The winery's tasting note: "This medium bodied wine displays notes of rich black fruits and berries complemented with elegant oak and a nuance of chocolate. Perfectly balanced, with a firm, smooth tannin structure, the wine finishes with an enduring length of ripe fruit and cedary oak."
