2015 Paul Anheuser Spätburgunder Nahe

Importer's Notes: "Light, translucent red color, delicate aromatics, and a palate of red and black cherries. Light-bodied, fresh and with silky tannins, here is a delightful, straightforward, easy drinking, inexpensive German Pinot for enjoying young with just about anything plated. Though not vineyard designated, this loam-soil hillside wine comes entirely from Anheuser's Kreuznacher St. Martin, just north of the town. Aged in neutral 2500 liter (660 gallon) casks."

2015 Gut Hermannsberg Riesling Trocken Nahe (Dry)

Jancis Robinson: "Quite rich and savoury - definitely not in the floral spectrum that I suspect some would expect of a Riesling. Bone dry - very much for the German market! Naked and unadorned. Pungent and well made but definitely for the converted? (JR)" (5/2016) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Riesling Trocken (named 'Just Riesling' in Germany) is based on the youngest vines of the domaine and reflects the purity and crystallinity of the Gut Hermannsberg terroirs, which are only located in grands crus. Provided with ripe apple flavors, this light to medium-bodied Riesling is dry, straight and p ...Read More »

2013 Wöhrle "SC" Lahrer Kronenbühl Spätburgunder Baden

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* Savory smoke and nut tones contrast richly with extracted black cherry and berry flavors in this full-bodied Spätburgunder. While fine-grained tannins and a shock of cranberry acidity lend balance and grace, shades of toast and spice are still quite prominent. It's a powerful wine that should benefit well from cellaring until at least 2020."

2013 Emrich-Schönleber Halenberg Riesling Trocken (Dry) Nahe

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More fruit-concentrated on the nose compared to the Frühlingsplätzchen, the 100% barrel fermented (3500 l oak barrel) 2013 Monzinger Halenberg Riesling trocken is richer with strong mineral notes from the slate and quartzite soils emerging only after a little bit of aeration. This is quite a rich, juicy and full-bodied Riesling with ripe fruit expression and a long mineral finish. It is firmly structured and quite piquant and needs definitely some years to relax. It is still a little bit underdeveloped but has a great potential to age. 2009 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Auslese Nahe (375ml)

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Overripe pear and peach are joined by suggestions of white truffle and a Jurancon-like suggestion of foie gras pate on the nose of Donnhoff's 2009 Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Auslese Gold Capsule. Raspberry parfait, lime sorbet, and white peach nectar convey richness with refreshment on a near-weightless palate, with salt, stone, and truffle adding intrigue to a finish that displays a watercolor-like combination of transparency and indelibility. Anticipate at least 25 years of fascination from this beauty." (2/2011) K&L Notes: According to importer Terry Theise: "This... Read More »

2004 Dönnhoff Niederhauser Hermannshöhle Riesling Auslese Nahe (375ml)

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Niederhauser Hermannshohle Riesling Auslese is blazingly bright in the nose, with tropical fruit richness allied to bright citrus and tart red raspberry notes. In the mouth there is sharpness and brightness as well as a complex dynamic of mango, pink grapefruit, red raspberry and pungent spice and mineral saltiness. This lacks the delicacy or serenity of so many of Donnhoff’s best wines, but in its jazz-like syncopation of flavors and the almost jarring juxtaposition of blazingly bright citricity with massive density, offers an exciting personal ...Read More »

2016 Schlossgut Diel "Rose de Diel" Pinot Noir Nahe

Importer's Notes: "Best! Vintage! Ever! Right in the sweet-spot between weight and buoyancy, fruit and splashy transparency; it’s solid yet weightless, with fantastic fruit; don’t dare miss this high-water-mark of stylishness and pure YUM-factor."

2011 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Auslese Nahe (375ml)

94 points Wine Spectator: "A heady and rich style, with plenty of crisp acidity running underneath the plush, smoke-tinged flavors of tangerine, apple, pear and guava. Displays an elegant spiciness, featuring an airy texture that lingers with citrus peel notes. Complex. Drink now through 2040." (4/2013) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Donnhoff 2011 Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Auslese gold capsule represents a selection of partly-botrytized bunches pulled out before what remained was packed under film to await the first hard frost. Mango and papaya, quince and peach deliver an impression both tropical and northe ...Read More »

2006 Dönnhoff Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Beerenauslese (375ml)
Bid on this half-bottle lot of 2006 Dönnhoff Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Beerenauslese (375ml) (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Beerenauslese is far more viscous, oily, and honeyed than the corresponding Auslese; the raspberries have candified now, and there is a gaudy gaggle of tropical fruits partying loudly as if just next door. The seamless purity of the Auslese, for all of that wine’s energy, seems almost meditative in comparison, but all the more remarkable for it. Still, this prodigious elixir is every bit as citric, bright and penetrating as the Auslese and as it matures over the coming half century it may well reveal not only further facets, but also its underlying principle of organization. Right now, one can only be in awe of its sheer energy and concentration. (DS)" (10/2008)

2005 Schlossgut Diel Dorsheimer Burgberg Riesling Auslese

95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pale golden-yellow color. Subtle aromas of apricot, white lime and brown spices. The refreshing acidity make this auslese appear light and superbly elegant. Piquant fruit and lively spice animate the long, sweet, delicate finish. (JbP)" (2/2007) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Shows a complex mix of candied grapefruit, baked apple and preserved quince flavors, with a touch of mineral. The sweetness dominates now, but there's a lively structure that kicks in on the finish. Needs time. Best from 2009 through 2022. 31 cases imported. (BS)" (4/2007)

2010 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA) Nahe (375ml)
Bid on this half-bottle lot of 2010 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA) Nahe (375ml) (97RP, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From berries selected out of the corresponding Auslese, Donnhoff's 2010 Niederhauser Hermannshohle Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese was intended to be Beerenauslese, given 180 Oechsle and 14 grams of acidity it was evident that he had a T.B.A. on his hands ? and what a one! High-toned, penetrating aromas of maraschino, marzipan, and pungent lemon rind usher in a creamily rich yet buoyant and enervating palate loaded with quince preserves and pear nectar; honey and caramel; maraschino and white raisin. Brightness of fresh lemon and depth of nut oils emerge in the finish, the sheer abundance of material present here serving to somehow guarantee a seamless yet fruitfully tense cohabitation of this elixir's acidic with its ennobled richness, its spine and vivacity with its creamy opulence. This ought to be worth following for a

1998 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Auslese Nahe (375ml)

90 points Wine Spectator: "An intense, nervy white, finely detailed in its lime and mineral flavors that are tightly wound yet persistent. Lean and crisp on the finish. Best from 2001 through 2006. (BS)" (2/2000) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Tart lemon, honey and pungent spice flavors presently engaged in a slight sweet/sour tug-of-war. Very firm in the mouth. Appears to lack the polish and refinement of its predecessors. Time will tell. (DS)" (2/2000)

2002 Donnhoff Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Eiswein (375ml)
Bid on this half-bottle lot of 2002 Donnhoff Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Eiswein (375ml) (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Riesling Eiswein Oberhauser Brucke is a grand slam home run for Donnhoff. It is so intense, so powerful, and so complex as to instill fear in the taster. Its apricot and peach cobbler aromas lead to a jellied core of cassis, raspberries, syrupy slate, and oodles of spices. It is simply amazing that a wine of this richness, ripeness, and depth can retain perfect definition, grip, and refinement. What is truly terrifying, however, is that Donnhoff produced a three-star Eiswein from the same vineyard in 2002, one he presumably considers better than this sublime nectar. Part of me is grateful that I was unable to taste it, however, as I have only 100 points with which to work. Bravo! Projected maturity: 2015-2040+. (PR)" (02/2004)

Bid on this 375 ml 4-bottle lot of 2012 Jakob Schneider Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle "Mitternacht" Riesling Eiswein (375ml) (92RP, 91JR). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "White English wine gum flavors along with potted ginger and homey notes characterize the nose of the very intense and "sweet" flavored 2012 Hermannshöhle Riesling Eiswein. The aromas lead to a very sweet, intense and concentrated palate of great intensity that has ripe and ultra ripe yellow-fleshed stone fruit flavors that dominate a palate that could be more finesse-full and delicate for my taste. But, if you prefer your Eiswein sweet, viscous and hedonistic, this one might be excellent. (SR)" (05/2015)

1999 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Beerenauslese Auction (375ml)
Bid on this half-bottle lot of 1999 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Beerenauslese Auction (375ml). Weingut Dönnhoff is an estate in the Nahe region of the Rhineland, and is regarded as one of Germany's very best producers. It is famous for the high quality of its wines, which are made predominantly from Riesling. The Dönnhoff family has been making wine in this region since the 1750s. However, since Helmut Dönnhoff took over in 1971, the estate has been built up step-by-step from 4ha (10 acres) to its current size. Its reputation has increased in similar proportions. Helmut has been described as a "superstar" by Robert Parker and as having a "fanatical commitment to quality, and a remarkable natural talent for winemaking" by British wine writer Hugh Johnson.

Bid on this 2-half-bottle lot of 1991 Emrich-Schonleber Monzinger Halenberg Riesling Eiswein (375ml). The Schönleber family's (and their ancestors, the Emrich family) viticultural history can be traced back to the middle of the 18th Century. The estate was initially used for various other agricultural pursuits before 1965, when Wilhelm Schönleber and his son Werner converted the entire estate to viticulture. They expanded the vineyards to a total area of approximately 10 hectares (25 acres).
