2014 Domaine Long-Depaquit (Albert Bichot) Chablis Top Pick!
2014 Domaine Long-Depaquit (Albert Bichot) Chablis

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A ripe and fresh nose expresses moderate Chablis character on the pretty nose that is composed of pear, apple and citrus scents. There is good volume and richness to the seductively textured medium weight flavors that possess just enough energy and acidity to suggest that this should reward a few years of cellaring." (10/2015) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pale yellow. Lime, peppermint and a touch of spice on the fresh, restrained, slightly metallic nose. Bright notes of white pepper and fresh herbs give thrust to the middle palate, with some unabsorbed CO2 making the wine hard to asse ...Read More »

2014 Domaine Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis "Domaine Sainte Claire"

92 points Decanter: "Ripe lemon and apple crumble with a real sense of minerality. A bright and energetic palate with fine fruit persistence and weight and an overlaying mineral presence. An elegant and accomplished wine." (7/2016) 91 points Wine Spectator: "#47 Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2015!! A textbook flinty aroma gives way to green apple, lemon and mineral flavors in this white, which shows fine depth and richness, offset by vibrant acidity. Excellent length. Drink now through 2020." 2014 Maison William Fèvre Chablis "Champs Royaux"

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the nose is quite similar to that of the Petit Chablis though it is even more restrained and will likely need a year or so of bottle age to really open up. Otherwise there is an abundance of both vibrant and typical Chablis character present on the seductively textured and attractively rich flavors that deliver fine length on the notably dry but not really austere finish." (10/2015) Vinous: "Pale greenish-yellow. Sexy aromas of lemon, lime, crushed herbs and powdered stone. Riper than the 2014 Petit Chablis, with more length. 2014 Domaine des Malandes Petit Chablis Top Pick!
2014 Domaine des Malandes Petit Chablis

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is plenty of Chablis character to the floral and citrus aromas where the former continues onto the cool, pure and racy flavors that possess plenty of punch along with ample salinity on the clean, dry and crisp finish. Lovely stuff and worth a look and note that this would make for an excellent house white." (10/2015) Wine Spectator: "The 2014 Petit Chablis was cropped at 60 hectoliters per hectare from 30-year-old vines and matured for six months in stainless steel. 96 points Decanter: "A sophisticated array of aromas and flavours; acacia, lemongrass and lemon curd with hints of smoke and minerality. Complex on the palate with lip-smacking acidity, creaminess and juicy fruit. An elegant length is topped off with a fine grained flinty finish. Charming and harmonious." (7/2016) Wine Enthusiast: "Soft and fruity, this is a lemon-scented wine that has an attractive tang of minerality. The texture is laced with acidity, with a nervous energy. It's fresh and ready to drink. (RV)" (10/2015)

2014 Domaine Christian Moreau Chablis

88-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is enough reduction to suppress the underlying fruit though there is good vibrancy and freshness to the saline and mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that terminate in a clean and dry but not really austere finish. This should be a lovely and altogether classic villages." (10/2015) 89-91 points Vinous: "Pale, bright yellow. Mineral-driven aromas of ginger, white pepper, menthol, and crushed stone. 2014 Jean-Paul et Benoît Droin Chablis 1er Cru "Les Vaillons"

Jancis Robinson: "Dusty, chalky/stony nose and bright, almost steely, citrus fruit. Extremely crisp and direct but long and really quite powerful." (1/2016) K&L Notes: Jean-Paul and his son Benoît have five centuries and fourteen generations of winemaking behind them. Notes from Stephen Tanzer: "Some early impressions: The Vaillons showed lovely acid snap and tension and was perhaps more typically Chablis-like than the fruitier, more generous but less taut Montmains." This fantastic direct import has been in the Moreau family since the late-1800s, who have acquired an impressive range of parcels in Grands Crus, including a monopole, and Premiers Crus like this Vaulignot. This 10-hectare vineyard in the village of Beines has a southeast orientation and calcareous soils, which creates sublime Chablis. this is done entirely in stainless steel to preserve freshness and minerality. This mildly fruity effort should be accessible young but be capable of rewarding a few years of bottle age as well. (AM)" (8/2015) Vinous: "Good pale, bright yellow. Good stuff." (10/2015) 90-92 points Vinous: "(from purchased grapes from 60-year-old vines): Pale, bright yellow. Once again there is excellent richness to the intense and markedly mineral-inflected flavors that possess plenty of saline character on the dry, long and seductive finale. This is really quite stylish and classy." (10/2015) 92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre is linear, granitic and slightly smoky on the nose – uncompromising, and what you might call quintessential Chablis aromatics. 2014 Billaud-Simon Chablis

The palate is very well balanced with a keen line of acidity. This just feels natural and harmonious, the finish just flowing across the mouth with requisite tension and mineralité for a Chablis. This had only finished its malolactic three weeks prior to my tasting. Perhaps as a consequence of that the nose is stubborn and backward. There is fantastic detail to the focused, mineral-driven and powerful middle weight plus flavors that do a slow build from the mid-palate all the way back to the explosively long, balanced and bone dry finish. This too should amply reward longer-term cellaring but be approachable after only 6 to 8. In a word, wonderful." Vincent Dauvissat ages the wine in Nevers oak, with less than 10 percent new barrels. This wine’s beautiful form is apparent from the moment it’s poured, the flavors of chamomile and fennel seed, almond and grain encapsulated in cool, stony tension. It tastes umami-rich and feels perfectly knit, opening slowly over the course of several days until the flavors turn racy, their energy setting up the wine up for a decade or more of evolution in bottle." 2014 Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin 1er Cru Chablis "Montée de Tonnerre"

Since the year 1620, fourteen generations of the Droin family have passed their winemaking tradition on to the next. Since 1999, all vinification has taken place at a modern wine facility built below the Grand Cru vineyards in Chablis, where they hold more than 4 hectares of vines. Grape clusers are handled very gently before pressing and the wine is matured in vats and neutral oak before bottling almost exactly one year after harvest. In recent years, this wine has scored in the low to mid-90s with the critics.

(10/2015) 91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here there are no such reductive issues as the airy and cool nose is clean and composed of green fruit, citrus peel, algae and wet stone nuances. The 2013 version displays a deft touch of oak that again is sufficiently subtle as to allow the ripe and very fresh white and yellow orchard fruit, sea breeze and iodine scents to shine. There is excellent punch as well as fine detail to the almost aggressively mineral-driven flavors that possess good power but also a lovely sense of refinement on the wonderfully long and impeccably well-balanced finish. It is very complex with mineral scents flanked by nutmeg and orange rind, unfurling all the time in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity, fine tension and grace, the finish precise and with just the right amount of bitterness that prolongs the aftertaste. Superb. The palate is vibrant, crisp and focused, perhaps not quite as "dramatic" as the Blanchots, but poised and "classic" on the bitter lemon-tinged finish. I suspect this will turn into an elegant Vaudésir, just a notch above the 2013. (NM)" (8/2015) 91-94 points Vinous: "Bright, green-tinged yellow. Densely packed, silky and intense, showing lovely saline grip as well as a repeating crushed herb quality that's a bit atypical for Vaillons. Finishes salty and long, with excellent cut. The rich but refined middle weight flavors are less powerful than those of the Vaudésir but notably more elegant while delivering a fine bead of minerality on the impeccably well-balanced and persistent finale. 89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is a touch of dried apricot to the white peach, tidal pool and discreet citrus-infused nose. The lush but vibrant medium-bodied flavors possess good minerality and reasonably good detail, all wrapped in an impressively long and complex finish where a hint of lemon zest appears. This should reward up to a decade of cellaring." (10/2015) 90-92 points Vinous: "Bright yellow. Tight nose hints at crushed stone and menthol, plus a whiff of petrol. Tactile, intense and clean; shows strong minerality and acidity, and the nervosité that comes from calcaire, and yet it's not auster ...Read More »

2014 Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin Chablis Grand Cru "Vaudesir"

91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As it usually is this is riper with hints of white peach and pear on the notes of mineral reduction, iodine and shellfish. There is excellent richness to the concentrated broad-shouldered flavors that exhibit absolutely no sense of heaviness as there is a firm core of acidity providing for both balance and structure on the intensely mineral-driven finish that is more refined than the description would suggest. In a word, impressive." (10/2015) 91-94 points Vinous: "Pale lemon-yellow. Fresh, inviting aromas of lime, nectarine, white peach, menthol, mint and fresh herbs. Dense, s ...Read More »

2013 Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin 1er Cru Chablis "Montée de Tonnerre"

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Mineral and flinty at the start, this young wine has an intense structure. Tannins and fruit skins give a strong, tight texture. At the same time, the acidity is just as intense, crisp and juicy, tight and needing many years to develop. (RV)" (10/2015) 92-94 points Vinous: "Droin's 2013 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre is wonderfully complete. Petrol, smoke, apricot pit and wild flowers are some of the many flavors that shape the 2013. Inward yet strong and full of energy, the 2013 is a bit reticent today, but it appears to be holding so much in reserve. Slightly oily, viscous notes ...Read More »

2007 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "La Forest"
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "La Forest" (95RP, 93ST, 92BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Dauvissat 2007 Chablis La Forest (the “s” and “t” being reversed from the usual spelling at this address) is gloriously buoyant, open-knit, and generously perfumed, while at the same time possessed of vivid crushed stone and chalk dust all the way through. Suggestions of white truffle and iris waft ethereally throughout, while subtle suggestions of toasted nuts, iodine, clam liquor, and fruit pit add underlying, persistent piquancy. And for all of this wine’s energized and rarified nature, as well as its overt mineral character, it also evinces a subtle and winsome hint of creaminess. This is about as nuanced and rivetingly multi-faceted as premier cru Chablis gets, and it even tasted this way right off the bottling line! Expect at least a decade of enthralling pleasure and intrigue here. (DS)" (12/2009)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Le Clos" (95ST, 95WE, 94BH, 94RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Very pale, green-tinged color. Reticent, somewhat reduced, soil-driven aromas of crushed stone, petrol and lime blossom. Extremely primary today, but already hinting at great incipient complexity, with notes of talc, citrus skin, white flowers and white pepper. Dense and fat with sheer extract; a real mouthful of liquid minerals. Superconcentrated, seamless and penetrating. " (07/2004)

2014 Domaine Billaud-Simon Chablis-Les Clos Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

93-96 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Don't Miss!* There is an ample amount of mineral reduction present on the citrusy and notably floral nose that also displays an abundance of Chablis character that continues onto the concentrated, powerful, intense and highly energetic palate impression while delivering stunningly good depth and length. As much as I like the Preuses and Blanchots, there is just another dimension present here and this should be remarkable once it achieves its full maturity. Bravo." (10/2015) 90-93 points Vinous: "(Done entirely in stainless steel): Pale bright yellow. Very ripe if slightly redu ...Read More »

2002 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis-Les Preuses Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis-Les Preuses Grand Cru (93RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Produced from a 2.55 hectare parcel (6.3 acres), the magnificent 2002 Chablis Les Preuses (domaine) has a complex nose of smoky slate and spices. Medium-bodied, deep, rich, and satin-textured, it reveals an inspiring character of outstanding depth, concentration, focus, and length. Loads of creamy seashells are intermingled with flint and pears in its detailed yet powerful core. (PR)" (02/2004)

2007 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos"
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" (96ST, 95RP, 95WS, 94BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright yellow. Subtly complex nose melds Asian pear, violet, lavender, ginger, iodine and powdered stone. Tactile and dense on entry, then creamy in the middle, conveying an impression of great volume without weight. This extremely backward, youthfully understated Clos firms up dramatically on the back end, finishing with palate-saturating citrus and talc flavors that refuse to fade. One of the longest Chablis bottlings I tasted for this issue, this truly transcends Chardonnay. 96+ (ST)" (07/2009)

2012 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis Grand Cru "Vaudesir"

94 points Vinous: "Almonds, dried flowers, pears and spices open up in the 2013 Chablis Vaudesir, a wine built on pure verticality and structure. The Vaudesir is deep, rich and resonant to the core, with exotic floral and spice overtones that add a measure of finesse to what is otherwise a pretty powerful wine." (8/2014) 91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A spicy, fresh and notably cool nose features aromas of iodine, white and yellow fruit and a distinct floral element. There is outstanding volume and fine intensity to the solidly well-concentrated flavors that possess slightly less overall complexity on the ...Read More »
