91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Lifted, fresh notes of peach on nose and palate somehow manage to pull off a wine of utter freshness that is soft, mellow and rounded at the same time. The peachy fruit pervades the entire palate which has just a smidgeon of residual sweetness and a helpful, balancing edge of pleasant bitterness. (AK)" (4/2016) Wine Spectator: "Ripe Honeycrisp apple, spring blossom and apricot notes lead the way in this light- to medium-bodied white, with mineral and spice accents underscoring the fruit and lingering on the clean-cut finish. Drink now through 2017. 330 cases made. (Web Onl ...Read More »
92 points James Suckling: "This is extremely rich and beautiful yet balanced and bright with spice, aniseed and dried orange. Full-bodied and flavorful. Delicious. All in balance. All the production of Trimbach's gewurz went into this. Available in 2016." (9/2016) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Linear and finely knit, this offers fresh acidity throughout and flavors of cantaloupe, orchard blossom, nectarine and pickled ginger, underscored by clean-cut minerality that defines the finish. Not a powerhouse, but very elegant. (AN)" (9/2016) Vinous: "Pale, gold-tinged yellow. Clean, subtle aromas of lime, green papaya, menthol a ...Read More »
Wine Enthusiast: "Roses, peaches and apricots all swing in the unctuous richness of this plush Gewurztraminer. They are countered by some freshness but this is certainly on the plumper side. It will be the perfect match for ripe, soft cheeses. (AK)" (12/2015) K&L Notes: Domaine Allimant-Laugner was founded in 1724 in the heart of Alsace, and their three hectares of Gewürztraminer vines are planted in limestone soil. An aromatic and rich wine, this off-dry bottling shows spicy and floral aromas which introduce generous fruit and texture. It is an excellent aperitif wine, and would natu... Read More »
Jancis Robinson: "*Good Value* Pale gold. Intensely aromatic with rose petals and lychees – sounds so clichéd but that is what it is like. It is hard to believe the stated alcohol because although this is deeply scented, it is supremely delicate and has the freshness to balance. A little more oily and viscous on the finish but floats like a much lighter wine. (JH)" (3/2016)
92 points James Suckling: "This is lemony and spicy with dried citrus fruits that follow through to a full body, dried fruit character and a flavorful finish. Drink now." (9/2015) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Very clear and precise, with smoky aromas on the nose the white golden colored 2013 Gewurztraminer Les Princes Abbés is a very elegant, sweet, piquant and frisky wine with a good and grippy structure and a long, salty/mineral finish. Just lovely not only at this price. Highly recommended. (SR)" (9/2015) Vinous: "Bright gold-tinged yellow. Lovely fresh Gewürztraminer aromas of mango, grapefruit, rose petal and smoked ...Read More »
92 points Wine Enthusiast: "An entirely varietal wine, aged in a majority of stainless steel, this smoothly textured experience begins in peach and apricot with balanced acidity, dry as a bone. It entices with rounded creaminess and inviting floral and lemon highlights. (VB)" (12/2016)
90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Ripe yellow plum and baked apricot make for a heady, aromatic opening. The palate holds this fruit in a rich frame with a rounded, opulent yet toned mouthfeel. Some residual sugar boosts the rich fruit even further, and the rich, oily texture is cut by citrus freshness" (12/2015)
90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A clean, refreshing white, the 2014 Dry Gewurztraminer is 100% varietal and was aged four months in stainless steel (a small part was barrel-fermented). Its notes of Meyer lemons, exotic flowers and sappy herbs lead to a crisp, fresh and beautifully balanced white that will shine on the dinner table over the coming year or two. (JD)" (8/2016) K&L Notes: From the winery: "Without a doubt, Dry Gewurztraminer has been an essential part of our operation over the past 32 years. We have been fortunate enough to have guests from around the country (and the world) seek out t... Read More »
91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This richly spicy, full wine has great depth of flavor. It is powerful, concentrated and shows a straight line of purity between the fruit and the final wine. Like many wines from Deiss, this off-dry wine needs to age. (RV)" (4/2015) Vinous: "Dark golden yellow. Ripe but fresh, focused aromas and flavors of tropical fruits, sweet spices and vanilla. Not the last word in complexity but plump and juicy, offering plenty of early appeal. Finishes suave and long, with welcome floral lift. Made from grapes grown near Bergheim on calcaire soils and in Saint Hippolyte on g ...Read More »
Wine Spectator: "Lychee and spice notes ride the creamy palate of this lightly tangy white, accented by grapefruit granita and smoky mineral flavors. Rich finish. Drink now through 2019. Web-Only 2016 (AN)"
91 points James Suckling: "A solid Gewurz with lemon rind, almond and hints of steel. Full-bodied, dry and fruity. Drink now." (9/2015) 90 points Vinous: "Bright, gold-tinged yellow. Lichee, grapefruit, sweet spices and a hint of grilled bacon on the musky, perfumed nose. Then very clean in the mouth, showing smoke and saline notes to the lemon, orchard fruit and green papaya flavors. This persistent wine boasts sneaky concentration and power, with noteworthy 7.7 g/l acidity for Gewürztraminer providing lift. Finishes with a welcome nuance of sweetness (10.2 g/l residual sugar). (ID)" (2/2016) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 ...Read More »
The 2013 Gewurztraminer has intense floral aromas, lively acidity, flavors of Asian pears and a beguiling spicy finish. It's bone dry and has wonderful palate cleansing properties that make this wine pair perfectly with richer meals. Enjoy this beauty during your Thanksgiving dinner or bring it to your next holiday party.
Barnaby and Olga Tuttle's Portland-based Teutonic Wine Company, is, need we say, an idiosyncratic outfit focused on German and Alsatian wine styles. And obsessively focused on terroir — they now collect grapes before harvest from each vineyard in order to start a native yeast culture for each fermentation.
96 points James Suckling: "A very dense and gorgeous wine with stone, limestone, chalk and dried apple character. Full body, off dry. Amazing finish. It goes on for minutes. What great transparency and clarity. Drink or hold." (9/2015) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Well, the 2013 Gewurztraminer Hengst is no wine for easy drinking. It is the only Grand Cru that bids defiance to the Rangen de Thann. Coming from vines plated soon after WWII and 1957, the nose is seriously deep, salty-mineral and fresh, and displays clear aromas of white stone fruits, orange and lemon zests. Round, elegant and clear on the palate, t ...Read More »
92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a wonderfully balanced wine, bursting with ripe spice as well as acidity. It’s a rich wine, now showing maturity without losing its fruit. The depth of flavor, drilling right down to the mineral structure, is impressive." (12/2014) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the heart of the Sporen grand cru, the deeply colored 2009 Gewurztraminer Hugel Jubilee opens with clear and harmonious Gewurz flavors on the explosively aromatic, spicy, deep and mineral nose. Rich and clear, soft and supple on the seductive palate, with a powerful, ripe and concentrated fruit expression, this dens ...Read More »
Racy and floral, this Gewürztraminer displays classic notes of rose, spice, and tropical fruit. It was organically grown on stony clay slopes in the Ribeauvillé region of Alsace. Despite difficult weather, the 2010 vintage ultimately produced fresh, high-quality wines. (But in lower quantities, so snatch them up while you can!)
92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sourced in the warm Wanne block (officially: Heisse and Kalte Wanne) the 2013 Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Kessler opens with a bright and spicy fruit aroma and some very prominent stony flavors. Very clear and highly elegant, with a smooth acidity and a great fruit intensity on the palate this moelleux yet piquant Traminer from the 2013 "picture book vintage for Gewurztraminer" (Alain Beydon) has a great aging potential though it is lovely to enjoy even today. (SR)" (9/2015)
92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Sourced from 40-year-old vines, this elegant and forceful wine deftly marries varietal perfume and tangy fruit. Lush flavors of juicy nectarine and satsuma mandarin come with a gentle hint of mint. Complex and delicious, it puts a very positive, food friendly spin on Gewürztraminer." (2/2017) K&L Notes: Slightly smokey, saline, raw sugar cane, burnt orange peel, and wet stone all meet in a highly textured and clean GW.
91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sourced from the bottom of the Altenbourg and the Furstentum Grand Cru, the 2014 Gewurztraminer Cuvée Laurence yielded not more than 15 hectoliter per hectare because of drosophila suzukii. The wine starts discreet on the nose and reveals the purity of granite soils combined with the more aromatic fruit of the Furstentum. Very delicate, filigreed and sweet on the palate, but also deep and complex in the elegant flow, with a crisp and salty finish. Bottled 10 days before I tasted it at the end of June this year. (SR)" (10/2015) 90 points Vinous: "Bright lemon-yellow. Pure aro ...Read More »

According to the producer's website: "Williams Selyem Winery began as a simple dream of two friends, Ed Selyem and Burt Williams, who pursued weekend winemaking as a hobby in 1979 in a garage in Forestville, California, and made their first commercial vintage in 1981. In less than two decades, Burt and Ed created a cult-status winery of international acclaim. Together they set a new standard for Pinot Noir winemaking in the United States, aligning Sonoma County's Russian River Valley in the firmament of the best winegrowing regions of the world. 95 points Wine Spectator: "Classic varietal character amplified. Rose, lychee and spice aromas and flavors weave throughout the creamy texture, picking up honey and caramel accents. Thick and balanced, with a concentrated finish. Drink now through 2020. 10 cases imported. (BS)" (10/2006) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Hugel, a firm known for its dry-styled table wines, can make killer sweet wines as well, deftly illustrated by this example. It's full-bodied, broad in the mouth and rich, with considerable weight to its flavors of roses, dried apricots, marmalade and honey, yet stays fresh on the long, mouthwaterin ...Read More »

The newest bottling of their flagship Dry Gewürztraminer marks the first release from their 2015 growing season. The grapes are sourced from their friends at Viento Vineyard in Monterey County. Their cool climate allows the Gewürztraminer to develop all of the classic components of the varietal: Bright aromas of rose petals, citrus, and minerality. Most notably, it showcases an unforgettable spiciness on the nose, a standard of this Alsatian-style wine. The flavors burst with lemon zest, tangerine, and hints of lychee. Though there is ample fruitiness on... Read More »
