Wow! An insane value in Cabernet from famed (Jimmy Watson Trophy Winner) winemaker Jeremy Gordon. Trellis is a new line of wines from Margaret River-based Amelia Park. The fruit, as with all of Amelia Park's wines, is sourced from some of the best vineyards in the region. Most producers in this ultra-premium wine region charge top dollar for their wines, how Amelia Park can deliver this level of quality, for these tiny prices, continues to amaze me. Jeremy makes beautiful, pure, fruit driven wines with excellent richness, balance and polish. This is just... Read More »
96 points James Halliday: "Bright crimson-purple; the fragrant cassis-filled bouquet sends its unequivocal message of that rarest of beasts: a totally delicious young cabernet that has a mellifluous palate of redcurrant and blackcurrant fruit supported by superfine tannins and subtle French oak." (2/2014)95 points Decanter: "Lively, lifted cherry fruit. Medium body with impressive intensity and persistence. Vivacious, feminine and silky smooth, yet also with loads of stamina and energy."94 points Wine & Spirits: "The purity of this Cabernet is impressive, it's clear black currant flavors fresh and crisp, uninhibited by its oak ag ...Read More »
97 points James Halliday: "*Special Value Selection* Estate-grown 40yo vines, and only free-run juice, gives the wine a flying start. Its intensity is exceptional, driving along the palate with high speed, the Bickford's lime juice flavours running unabated through the finish and well into the lingering aftertaste. An exceptional wine."
95 points James Halliday: "*Special Value Selection* Light straw-green; a complex blend with considerable presence and attitude from the first whiff to the conclusion of the long, multi-flavoured and multi-textured palate; a small left field component was wild-fermented in stainless steel barrels. It is the overall intensity of the wine that really grabs attention, engineered by the way the flavours build across the palate."
94 points James Halliday: "*Special Value Selection* Deep crimson; it has a rich and vibrant bouquet of black fruits, spice and pepper; the 12 months it spent in oak also makes its presence felt, joining with the tannins on the medium-bodied palate to provide excellent texture and structure." (3/2014) K&L Notes: Winemaker's Notes: "This wine has great richness of flavour, aromas of spicy cherry and plum and a soft fruit-driven palate delivering dark berries, liquorice and subtle tannins. The wine is approachable but will continue to develop and improve with cellaring. We source a single viney... Read More »
97 points James Halliday: ""If price wasn't a concern we'd all just want to drink bucket loads of this. It's all class and quality but the drinkability factor is extremely high. It's like sitting with someone expert in the art of conversation; it makes you laugh and cry and lean in closer. Fruit, oak, texture, acidity, length: a hand full of aces, neatly arranged, trim and terrific.""96 points Decanter: "Great to see Margaret River’s most recognized Chardonnay in such good form. This has all the power one associates with Leeuwin – with the 100% new oak being totally absorbed by the fruit – while the pa ...Read More »
97 points James Halliday: "A 71/29% blend, wild yeast-fermented, with no acid additions; 87% of the wine was matured for 5 months in French barriques (62% new). Follows in a long and proud tradition of exceptionally complex wines that rely on gentle persuasion, not brute force or, if you prefer, seduction rather than rape. The flavours are so attractive and mouthfilling now, it is easy to forget the wine will mature with grace for well over a decade." (3/2014)
94 points James Halliday: "Freshness and flavour. The two need not be mutually exclusive. This shows spicy oak laced through pear and grapefruit, dripping with juice. It's immediately appealing and seductive yet it has reach and drive. Incredibly more-ish." (12/2014)91 points Wine Spectator: "Broad and expressive, with pear, quince and white peach flavors gliding effortlessly into the long and refined finish." (8/2015)
From Sittella's estate vineyard in the premium subregion of Wilyabrup in Margaret River. Carefully hand crafted in small lots. The wine shows ripe blackcurrant, dark forest fruits, dark chocolate characters with a subtle mint and tobacco notes typical of the Margaret River region. The wine is matured in French oak to enhance depth and structure. This is serious Margaret River Cabernet at a very small price thanks to our direct import! Available exclusively at K&L!
98 points James Halliday: "Made according to the biodynamic calendar from vine to glass. Estate-grown 36-year-old vines were whole bunch-pressed and wild yeast-fermented in French oak (one-third new). Has the usual Cullen magic, pitting very complex fruit against fine, taut acidity, yet making it appear the two were made for each other; the length of the wine is prodigious, its finesse equally extraordinary. Reached towards the end of a 100-wine tasting, I found myself retasting it when I didn't need to do so, and even committing the mortal tasting sin of swallowing some." (3/2014) ...Read More »
94 points James Halliday: "A 58% (Sauvignon Blanc) 42% (Semillon blend) machine harvested at night; most cold - fermented in stainless steel, with 7% of the blend fermented in new and used French barriques. There is an array of citrus and tropical fruit aromas and flavours, but it is the electricity of the intense palate that is the defining feature of the wine." K&L Notes: Cape Mentelle takes a minimal approach towards this classic Margaret River blend. The aim is to preserve as much fruit intensity and regional character as possible, whilst providing a full-flavored and distinctive white win... Read More »

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Chardonnay has a nose of honeydew, ripe nectarines and poached pears with a toasty undercurrent. Medium-bodied, it fills the palate with lively melon and peachy flavors with a suggestion of creaminess to the texture and a good long finish. Drink it now to 2018. 90+ (LPB)" (8/2014)

97 points James Halliday: "From the near-40yo estate vineyard at Mount Barker; separate lots were either pressed at dryness or given post-ferment maceration, and kept separate during 20 months maturation in French oak (40% new). Picture perfect, not a hair out of place as the blackcurrant fruit, a touch of black olive and cedary oak flows seamlessly along the supremely elegant palate." (7/2015)90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Scotsdale Cabernet Sauvignon is a very deep purple-black 100% Cabernet Sauvignon made with fruit from 33-year-old vines. At first the nose is slightly closed giving subtle notes of c ...Read More »
94 points James Halliday: "A 55/29/16% blend; 83% of the wine was matured in used French oak barrels for 8 months, the remainder kept in stainless steel. Bright purple-crimson; while all about cassis and plum fruit, it is no lollipop wine, for the tannins are in the background standing by for the future; long and complete." (9/2013)
