2006 Robert Foley Napa Valley Charbono

Are you a charbonophile? You'll never know until you try this little-known grape found in small pickets around the Napa Valley and other parts of California. Robert Foley's 2006 Charbonno holds itself quite regally in the glass, shimmering deep purple. Grapey fruitiness and a fresh acidity makes this a distinguished quaffer perfect for almost any meal. 2004 Robert Foley Napa Valley Charbono

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Cellar Selection* Bob Foley has championed this heirloom variety, which so many others long ago abandoned. The wine shows an old-fashioned ruggedness and the kind of in-your-face tannins and grapeskin astringency you don’t see much anymore. Yet it’s massively fruity and will age well. (12/2006) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The talented Bob Foley turns out one of the two finest Charbonos in California. (Turley Cellars produces the other). Deep ruby/purple with notes of earth, mocha., black cherr ...Read More »

2014 Inizi Napa Valley Charbono

From the winery: "Soft, dense and approachable. This wine is dark purple in hue. The nose shows earth and fall spices, blueberry, fresh rose petal and leather. The pallet is incredibly soft with balanced acidity and great structure. The wine finishes with a long soft finish of spice and huckleberry. While the look of this wine screams "tannin!" the velvet texture rewards the adventurist taster."
