1996 Krug Brut Champagne (OWC)
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Krug Brut Champagne (OWC - 100W&S, 99ST, 99WS, 98VN, 97RP) in original wood. Wine & Spirits: "It's hard to imagine how a wine of this power can sustain perfect balance. What is now a more nonchalant intensity in the aroma was, in fact, too much to handle when we tasted this last year, as if the wine had no time for mere humans with their limited sense receptors. If you stop to taste ripe pear, ginger spice, apple blossom and butterscotch the wine leaves you lost in random flavor descriptors as it soars off into a vinous glow that lasts for minutes. This may well be the greatest vintage wine of Henri Krug's career (unless it is challenged by the 2002). It is impossible to predict how long this wine will thrive in bottle, though considering the current fine condition of the 1959 Krug, the first 50 years are a given." (12/2008)

2001 Bodegas Numanthia-Termes "Numanthia" Toro
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Bodegas Numanthia-Termes "Numanthia" Toro (95RP, 94ST). 95 points Robert Parker: "The flagship offering, the 2001 Numanthia, is fashioned from a 70-100 year old Tinta de Toro vineyard planted at a 2300 foot elevation. After a 28 day maceration, the wine undergoes malolactic in barrel, is aged 19 months in new French oak, and is bottled without fining or filtration. The spectacular, opaque purple-colored 2001 offers an explosive nose of melted licorice, barbecue smoke, blackberries, creme de cassis, camphor, and graphite. Full-bodied with gorgeously rich, concentrated fruit, a layered texture, and tremendous purity, it can be drunk young, but should hit its prime in 1-2 years, and last for 10-15." (04/04) 94 points Stephen Tanzer: "Good saturated ruby. Slightly reduced aromas of blackberry, violet, espresso and bitter chocolate. Suave and smooth in the mouth, with firm flavors of blackberry, violet and licorice. More perfumed and vibrant than the Termes. Fini

2014 Sine Qua Non "Gallinita" Central Coast Rosé
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Sine Qua Non "Gallinita" Central Coast Rosé. From the producer: "We are not working on a grape growing or winemaking THESIS. Instead we want all of our efforts to be reflected in every glass of SQN. And so our goal has been and always will be to understand Mother Nature’s often oblique ways and (re)act accordingly so that we may create wines that express all that Nature has so generously given us. And all that this beautifully warm and sunny place called California has to offer. Wines that speak to the heart and the mind both. Wines that are ripe and flavorful, but also graceful and balanced. Wines that are perfectly enjoyable and delicious young, but that will age and show a new and interesting personality with each passing year. Wines that surprise with each sip and where the last drop – not the first sip – was the best one. Wines that make you smile and happy and appreciate all that is lovely."
