2010 De Struise Brouwers "Pannepot Reserva" Old Fishermans Ale Aged in Oak Casks, Belgium 11.2 oz (Previously $8)

From the brewery: "At Struise, we love all the beers we make. However, if there should be only one that we should call our ‘flagship’ with right and reason, it’s Pannepot. After a lifetime of brewing tasty, but ‘safer’ beers, this was our first venture into a world of extremities and has a great deal of responsibility in making us into what we are today. This ‘Old Fisherman’s Ale’, named after the fishing trawlers on which men would risk life and limb to feed their families, sits somewhere in between a Belgian strong dark ale and a stout. It pours a lusc... Read More »

2013 Double Mountain Brewery "Tahoma Kreik" Belgian Blond Ale w/ Brett & Rainier Cherries, Oregon 375ml (Previously $18)

From the brewery: "The Tahoma Kriek (a tip of the hat to the company that politely asked us to change the name) uses a strong Belgian Blonde ale for a base prior to the addition of local Rainier Cherries. The yeast strain, Brettanomyces Lambicus, was allowed free reign to develop its sourness and complex character, resulting in a stronger and more bracingly tart ale than the more classic beers in that style. This beauty was kept at cellar temperatures on the whole fruit for 13 months. Best enjoyed with a good cheese and better company."

Brasserie De La Senne/ Le Trou du Diable "Schieve Tabarnak" Hoppy Belgian Ale, Belgium 330ml (Previously $5.49)

From the brewer: "Brewed in collaboration with Yvan De Baets of Brasserie de la Senne. This hazy blonde beer is brewed with rye and Nelson Sauvin hops. The aroma is quite floral and the flavor arrives in three stages: the first is reminscent of rye bread, followed by an evolving fruity and herbal note, and ending with a long-lasting finish that encourages you to dive right back in. The name comes in part from a Belgian insult, “schieven architek”, used by the people of the Marolles district of Brussels to criticize architect Joseph Poellart who built... Read More »

2013 Cascade Brewing "Blueberry Ale" Sour Ale, Oregon 750ml (Previously $30)

"This NW style sour ale blends wheat and blond ales that were oak aged in barrels for six months, then additionally aged four months on fresh blueberries. Huge herbal notes of dense blueberries in the nose give way to hints of oak and a dusty floral note. Rich earthy notes of dark fruit on the palate lead to a tart finish that dries out to a base note of blueberry skins."

"A strong ale, brewed with loads of malt, hops, jaggery, and a touch of manuka (a useful and abundant New Zealand tree) smoke. Sea Cider "Pippins" Cider (Organic), B.C Canada 750mL (Previously $25)

Pippins cider is made in the New England pre-Prohibiton style, which means sharply acidic, but balanced with very subtle sweetness, and high in alcohol (9.5%). Fermentation is undertaken at cool temperatures to preserve the fruitiness on the nose and to maintain the acidity. A dosage of organic cane sugar is added during fermentation to raise the level of alcohol (this was traditionally important to improve the shelf life of cider during the pioneering days). Taste notes: Lovely acidity, citrus, apple, pear, lemongrass, pineapple....crisp!!

Heater Allen "Sticke Alt" Altbier, Oregon 22oz (Previously $6.49)

""Sticke" means "secret" in German. The Sticke Alt was actually a pleasant mistake made by an Alt producer in Dusseldorf that became so popular they continued to produce it several times a year, typically for release in October and January. Our Sticke Alt was first made in 2013 with the NW Chapter of the Pink Boots Society (a group of women beer professionals) and was Lisa's very first recipe. We liked the Sticke so much we decided to make it a regular seasonal. This beer is perfect for the fall. It's rich malty notes are balanced with a nice hoppy zing ... Read More »
