2011 E.Z. Orchards Willamette Valley Dry Cidre, Oregon (750ml) (Previously $18)

This dry cider comes from E.Z. Orchards in Oregon's Willamette Valley, a place K&L customers might better know for its fabulous Pinots. At E.Z. Orchards they grow a selection of French, English and early American apple varieties that they blend together to create a balanced cider in the French tradition. It smells like fall, with a gentle effervescence on the palate, and is full and round, but not sweet. It pairs perfectly with food, particularly nuts and cheeses, but it's also a nice complement to savory dishes as well.

Brouwerij Hof Ten Dormaal "Zure" Sour Ale, Belgium (330ml) (Previously $8.49)

The traditional sour beer uses the wild yeasts found around the farm. This gives the beer a soft, refreshing sour taste. After a year of aging on a barrel this beer is ready for consumption. Each batch of Zure Van Tildonk is carefully aged in their cellars at the Engelburcht Monastery for several months prior to release.

Picobrouwerij Alvinne "Wild West - Blackthorn Sloeberries" Wild Ale Aged in Pomerol Barrels w/Sloeberries, Belgium (500ml) (Previously $15)

This beauty is a Golden Flemish sour, oak aged in Bordeaux barrels, then fermented with Morpheus yeast(a special hybrid yeast created by 1 of the 3 brewmasters). Hand harvested sloe-berries (grown in Flanders, Belgium) were added to the Wild West Sour. Pure magic.

Bee D'Vine Mead Demi-Sec California (375ml) (Previously $22)

The Demi Sec is sweet, fruity, and light. It is the perfect accompaniment to your favorite meal or for sipping by itself. Bee d’Vine is refreshingly floral and perfumed. Distinctive white flower blossoms come to mind...a layered bouquet of almond, honey suckle and jasmine. Like the bouquet, the finish exhibits a stark difference from grape wine (crisp but not tannic) possessing a brininess that balances the honey notes.
