2010 Domaine Denis Bachelet Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Denis Bachelet Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes ((91-93RP), (90-92BH), 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is bursting with energy and sheer verve. Firm yet well-integrated tannins provide the backbone for an expressive core of dark fruit. The wine gains finesse on the mid-palate and finish, but ultimately this needs much more time to blossom. I especially like the drive here. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2027. (AG)" (12/2011)

2009 Grand Mayne, St-Emilion
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Grand Mayne, St-Emilion (94WE, 93RP, 91WS). Wine Enthusiast: "A ripe wine, very open and smooth. The tannins are dark, but it is the fruit-blackberry and red plums-that comes right through. Look beneath this charm, and there is also a wine with more structure, perfumed and ageworthy. *Top 100 Wines of 2012* (RV)" (02/2012)

2011 Domaine de la Vougeraie Charmes-Chambertin Les Mazoyeres Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine de la Vougeraie Charmes-Chambertin Les Mazoyeres Grand Cru (96VN, 93BH, 93ST, 90RP). Vinous: "An utterly beguiling wine, the 2011 Charmes-Chambertin Les Mazoyères is constantly changing in the glass. Violets, sage, rosemary, pipe tobacco and cedar meld into a core of deep, resonant black fruit. The 2011 is marked by cool veins of minerality that give the wine its piercing intensity and brightness. At times polished and refined while at other times wilder and more extroverted, the 2011 impresses for its multiple shades of contrast. What a gorgeous wine this is. The 2011 was done with 80% whole clusters and aged in 80% new oak. This is even better from bottle than it was from barrel. (AG)" (03/2014)

2010 La Ferme du Mont "Côtes du Capelan" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 La Ferme du Mont "Côtes du Capelan" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (98RP, 97JD). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Cotes Capelan boasts abundant notes of acacia flowers interwoven with blackberries, black raspberries, licorice, incense and a touch of graphite. The wine hits the palate with tremendous authority, impressive purity, a skyscraper-like texture and a full-bodied, layered finish that lasts for nearly 50 seconds. This remarkable Chateauneuf du Pape has a natural yet seductive feel. Drink it over the next two decades. One of the more exciting, relatively new estates in the southern Rhone is La Ferme du Mont, which is run with considerable enthusiasm as well as meticulous attention to detail by Stephane Vedeau. I bought his 2007s and am thrilled I did so as they combine the best of the southern Rhone with a Burgundian grand cru-like gracefulness and elegance. His 2011 and 2010 offerings are both outstanding, with the la

Of the 1987 Duckhorn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Wine Spectator writes: "A supple, complex wine. Wine Enthusiast: "**Cellar Selection** The immediate impression is of savory umami aromas pierced with pine needle and sage highlights. Red and black licorice, along with sweet cured meats, bring complexity to fruit flavors of berry, cherry and plum. Toss in Provençal spices, coffee grounds and the classic Cayuse earthiness that continues through a deep, firm, beautifully defined finish. Drink now through 2030. (PG)" (02/2015)

1998 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (5L) (OWC)
Bid on this 5L-bottle lot of 1998 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (5L) (OWC - 97VN) in original wood. Vinous: "Ironically, the 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain from a much weaker vintage than 1997 on paper, is a much more interesting wine. Huge and explosive on the palate, the 1998 boasts serious depth and concentration. Iron, smoke, anise and dark red/blackish fruit all swirl around in the glass in a striking, nuanced Cabernet that is among the wines of the year in Napa Valley. If there is a dark horse in this tasting, the 1998 is it. Beautiful. (AG)" (02/2014)

2013 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah (99RP, 96WS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Flirting with perfection, the 2013 Syrah James Berry Vineyard Bone Rock is one of the wines of the vintage. Made from 80% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre and 5% each of Grenache and Roussanne, which saw a big chuck of whole clusters, it offers sensational aromas and flavors of black raspberries, violets, pepper and crushed rock that literally come leaping out of the glass. Full-bodied, seamless, elegant, yet concentrated and incredibly pure, with a finish that won't quit, this beauty will stand beside some of the greatest Hermitages out there. Give bottles 3-4 years and enjoy over the following 10-15 years. Unfortunately, due to ridiculously low yields, there won't be a Bone Rock released in 2014 or 2015, so don't miss this beauty! 2009 Domaine Ponsot Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Ponsot Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is exceptionally ripe with dense aromas of cassis, plum and earth. There is excellent phenolic maturity to the equally ripe and very concentrated, even opulent flavors that hint at an underlying minerality on the long but slightly flat finish. To be sure, this is very impressive in it sheer size and weight yet it is borderline too ripe for my taste and lacks a bit of energy. In fairness, it's entirely possible that this is suffering a bit from the recent bottling as some wines do become fatigued. If so my score will seem unduly conservative in time." (01/2012)

2011 Aubert "CIX" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Aubert "CIX" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Pinot Noir CIX Vineyard is gorgeous. Dark red cherries, flowers, mint and licorice all come together nicely. A pointed, beautifully articulated wine, the 2011 impresses for its focus, length and nuance. Like its Chardonnay sibling, the CIX Pinot lacks a little of the mid-palate stuffing that will likely come with further vine age. Today, the CIX is a bit tight, but I imagine it will always remain energetic and vibrant in style. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2021. (AG)" (04/2013)

2010 Jonata "La Sangre de Jonata" Santa Ynez Valley Syrah
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Jonata "La Sangre de Jonata" Santa Ynez Valley Syrah (97RP, 97VN, 94ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Looking at Matt’s Syrah blend, the La Sangre de Jonata is normally co-fermented with a small amount of Viognier and is aged all in larger format barrels. Showing just as good from bottle as from barrel, the 2010 La Sangre de Jonata is a brilliant Syrah. Co-fermented with 3% Viognier, its inky purple color is followed by a massive, concentrated and structured wine that tastes like the essence of Syrah. Cassis, spice, ink, chocolate, flowers and roasted meat-like aromas and flavors all emerge from the glass and this is formidably structured and tannic on the palate. In need of another 3-4 years of bottle age, it will have 15-20 years of longevity. Drink 2016-2025. (JD)" (08/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Kosta Browne "Gap's Crown Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (94CG, 93VN, 93WS, 92ST). Connoisseurs Guide: "If tilting a touch more to ripeness than most of its North Coast kin, this bottling does not err to softness, and its big-shouldered style comes with lots of firm muscle. It is a big, well-extracted, very substantial Pinot, to be sure, with abundant flavors of raspberries and sweet cherries, and it carries a strong imprint of rich oak. Its lengthy flavors are underpinned by a firm streak of tannin, and it ends with the kind of finishing grip that predicts a very good future. **Two Stars**" (10/2013)

Of the 2014 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A classic Paso Robles Syrah (57% Syrah, 24% Grenache and the rest Mourvedre) that delivers on all accounts, the 2014 Heart Stone Vineyard is a big, rich, decadently styled beauty that offers tons of upfront spice, dark fruits, licorice and smoked earth aromatics, with more floral, violets and sappy underbrush notes coming through with air that keep it far for simple or straightforward. Bid on this bottle of 2013 Sine Qua Non "Résisté" Central Coast Proprietary White (97RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "the 2013 White Wine Resiste is a sensational white from California that's made from 45% Roussanne, 26% Chardonnay, 14% Petite Manseng, 10% Viognier and 5% Marsanne that spent 19 months in 46% new French oak and the balance in concrete eggs and used barrels. Possessing rock-star levels of richness and texture on the palate, with full-bodied depth and power that never seems heavy or cumbersome, it has classic SQN white notes of buttered golden fruits, honeysuckle, honeycomb, toast and white flowers. Bid on this bottle of 2013 Scarecrow "M. Étain" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 94VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 M. Etain Cabernet Sauvignon, which is hardly a second wine by any means, offers beautiful blackcurrant fruit with some cedar wood/sandalwood notes, an opulent, full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning purity, and that layered texture that is so enticing. The wine has a beautiful opaque purple color, hints of graphite, blueberry and blackberry fruit, a touch of licorice and the soil undertones that some would say are part of the so-called "Rutherford dust" scenario, although that's debatable. 2014 Realm "Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Realm "Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 98JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 400 cases of the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard, which is 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot. This comes from the backstreets of St. Helena and the site basically looks like a quarry with its extreme gravelly soils. The wine is made from clone 337, which may be my favorite of the Cabernet clones. As I have said before, this is a Mission Haut-Brion on steroids – an incredibly fabulous wine with notes of scorched earth, charcoal embers, blackberry and blueberry fruit, an almost endless mouthfeel with powerful fruit, but elegance as well as purity. A thoroughly flawless and seamless full-bodied wine with 30 years of upside, this is pure perfection. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Bedrock Wine Company "Weill a Way Vineyard - Exposition Two" Sonoma Valley Syrah (96RP, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The '2012 Proprietary Red Weill Vineyard Exposition Project Trio' is three incredible wines from Sonoma County. This is Twain-Peterson’s take on the three LaLa wines from the Guigal family in Côte-Rôtie. He is emphasizing distinct clonal terroir and exposition differences as well as vinifying the wines separately. All three of the following wines were aged 36 months in 100% new French oak. The 2012 Proprietary Red Weill Vineyard Exposition 2 is 92% Syrah and 8% Viognier, 50% whole-cluster and from a southeast-facing block of the same vineyard. The Viognier was co-fermented, and this might well be Twain-Peterson’s La Turque. 2009 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 98WE, 96WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon (98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot) is a ripe, flamboyant and brilliantly proportioned effort that oozes kirsch, licorice, lead pencil shavings and dried spice on the nose. Showing the perfume and headiness of the vintage, it nevertheless stays vibrant and lively on the palate while delivering layers of fruit and texture. While formidably structured and tannic, it can be enjoyed now due to the overall tannin quality and purity of fruit. It will evolve and drink well for over two decades. (JD)" (06/2013)

2011 Aubert "UV-SL Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Aubert "UV-SL Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aubert's 2011 Pinot Noir UV-SL Vineyard is easily the most refined of the wines in this range of Pinots. Intensely perfumed and layered -- but not at all heavy -- the UV-SL has all its elements in perfect balance. Savory herbs, licorice, mint, plums and black cherries all come to life in the glass, but ultimately, the 2011 stands out most for its silkiness, grace and exceptional overall balance. Expressive floral notes add considerable freshness on the close. (AG)" (04/2013)

2010 Domaine Coche-Dury Meursault
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Domaine Coche-Dury Meursault (92ST, 90BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Aromas of orange oil and wet stone. Juicy on entry, then rather strict in the middle, showing noteworthy power and tension, not to mention terrific precision of stone fruit and citrus flavors. Not yet expansive; in fact, this village wine is the closest 2010 to austere today. Owing to the low volume of grapes in 2010, Coche-Dury used 15% new oak here, vs. a normal 10%. (ST)" (09/2012)

2015 Carlisle "Papera Ranch" Russian River Valley Zinfandel
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2015 Carlisle "Papera Ranch" Russian River Valley Zinfandel ((92-94RP), (91-94VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A killer effort is the 2015 Zinfandel Papera Ranch, from a vineyard planted in 1934, and made from 96% Zinfandel and 4% Carignan. This is a good-sized wine, given its 15.4% alcohol, but like all of Mike Officer’s wines, the alcohol never shows. Moreover, he clearly gives the fruit plenty of attention so that it can strut its ripeness and full-bodied character, given the fact that he rarely uses more than 20-25% new French oak, and of course, the wines are bottled with no clarification by fining or filtering. This should drink well for up to a decade or more... (RP)" (10/2016)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The nose is somber and reserved with low key red berry and earth notes dominating the nose and continue onto the moderately rustic and frank middle weight flavors that possess excellent depth of material and should develop more complexity with a few years in bottle. A very solid villages and worth a look." (01/2007)

Bid on this bottle of 2010 Domaine Bruno Clair Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Clos St-Jacques" ((93-95RP), 95WE, 94BH, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St. Jacques is deep, round and powerful. The intense tannins are beautifully matched by the intensity of the fruit. Expressive mentholated, spiced notes develop in the glass, adding complexity and gravitas. The fruit turns positively explosive on the finish. The Clos St. Jacques has a very bright future ahead of it. This is a dazzling showing. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030. (AG)" (12/2011)

Of the 2010 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2010 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard is a slightly tighter style of Pinot Noir, and lighter than the 2009. There is more acidity showing through, the fruit offering up various red and black fruits from pomegranate to plum to cassis, dark sweet cherries as well as foresty underbrush notes. It is developing quickly, without the intensity of flavor of the 2009. Anticipated maturity: now-2025. (RP)" (08/2015)

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Domaine Louis Jadot Musigny Grand Cru ((92-95BH), 95ST, (91-92RP)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red. Explosive aromas of black cherry, black cardamom, licorice, minerals and crushed stone, all lifted by a piquant suggestion of blood orange. Imploded, palate-saturating wine with outstanding depth and energy. Conveys the power of Musigny without any impression of weight. Perhaps most impressive today on the back end, which features insidious saline minerality, outstanding thrust and length, and noble tannins. Leaves the taste buds quivering. 2009 Domaine Joseph Roty Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Fontenys"
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Joseph Roty Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Fontenys" (93JG, 92BH, 92ST). John Gilman: "The old vines in Fontenys can often produce a rather dense style of wine when young, but this has not been the case with this lovely 2008 and 2009 versions chez Roty. The wine offers up an impressive degree of transparency on both the nose and palate, with the bouquet providing lovely aromatic fireworks of plums, black cherries, coffee, grilled meat, fresh herb tones, a very clear base of dark soil tones, woodsmoke and nutty new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite plush on the attack, with a sappy core of fruit, impressive soil drive, ripe tannins and superb length and grip on the focused and classy finish. Perhaps these last two vintages are the best young examples of Roty Fontenys I have ever had the pleasure to taste! " (06/2012)

2007 Sine Qua Non "Pictures" Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Sine Qua Non "Pictures" Grenache (97RP, 95ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 87% Grenache, 11.5% Syrah, and 1.5% Viognier, this wine has wonderful floral notes intermixed with black raspberries, black cherries, licorice, graphite and some camphor. In the mouth, more white chocolate notes appear, along with meatiness and some silky tannins. Its great purity, density and richness make me think this wine could even improve a few points and flirt with perfection. This stunning wine should drink nicely for another 10-15 years. Sweet tobacco, menthol, cloves and mocha form a gorgeous fabric in this deep, supple Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine Spectator: "Looks browning and tired, but smells raw and untamed, with a powerful core of braised chestnut, flint, currant paste, bittersweet cocoa and brick dust. The long, grip-filled finish echoes with blood sausage, cedar and prune. Despite its power, the riveting acidity keeps this focused and driven. Drink now through 2026. (JM)" (05/2007)

1993 Giuseppe Quintarelli Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
Bid on this bottle of 1993 Giuseppe Quintarelli Amarone della Valpolicella Classico. A legend in Amarone winemaking, Giuseppe Quintarelli's wines are exceedingly good, hard to get, and among the greatest expressions of the type. Quintarelli pioneered the modern style of Amarone--the more seductive, exotic, spicy style that has revolutionized the region. There is a reason his wines are among the most expensive and hard to get in Italy. They are that good.

Bid on this 500 ml 1-bottle lot of 2003 Huët "Cuvée Constance" Vouvray Moelleux (500ml) (100RP, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The color of the 2003 Vouvray Moelleux Cuvée Constance (poured from the 500 ml bottle) is as golden-orange as is the small paper strip label. On the nose this wine is an unreal beauty, combining perfect fruit ripeness and concentration with precision, finesse and spicy/mineral flavors that are quite rare in sweet wines of this top level. Smooth, nobly elegant, perfectly balanced and highly intense on the palate, this is a wine to die for. Its finesse and weightless intensity is beyond worth. Surely the finest Huet I ever tasted. The Domaine Huet in Vouvray is one of the few world class producers in the Loire Valley. Its reputation was built by 1910-born Gaston Huet and the Le Haut Lieu, a top single vineyard site that was bought by his parents in 1928 with three hectares under vines, all Chenin Blanc. A very restrained and tight nose of green fruit, floral and pain grillé suffused aromas leads to big-bodied, rich and obviously well-muscled flavors that culminate in an intensely mineral finish. This is not as dense as the Bâtard but the intense stoniness and huge length is impressive. " (07/2009)

The mouth feel is at once suave yet precise and I very much admire the intensity and sense of underlying tension on the citrusy, long and bone dry finish.
