Of the 2012 Aubert "Sugar Shack Estate" Napa Valley Chardonnay,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Mark Aubert is one of the contenders for California’s finest practitioner of Burgundian-styled, yet classic, California Chardonnays. His offerings are all made like grand cru Burgundies with full malolactic, the use of French oak and lees stirring, but the purity of fruit, the textural dimensions, and the stunning singularity of these Chardonnays can only be matched by a handful of other Chardonnay producers in the world. 2009 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2009 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (98RP, 97JS, 97WS, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Simply put, the 2009 James Berry Vineyard is one of the greatest young wines I have ever tasted from California, or anywhere for that matter. Bright, floral aromatics lead to expressive red fruit in this impossibly elegant, dazzling wine. A melange of rose petals, mint and licorice follows as the James Berry shows off its breathtaking clarity and finesse. Fine-grained, chalky tannins frame the exceptional finish. Frankly, I am surprised this is the first wine of the tasting. Where does one go from here? The 2009 James Berry is a bit of departure from previous vintages. This is the highest percentage of Grenache ever used in the blend, and a large portion of the Grenache was aged in concrete, an approach Smith has borrowed from producers in the Rhone. Originally Smith had intended to age less of the Grenache components in concrete, but the low

Reticent, somewhat reduced, soil-driven aromas of crushed stone, petrol and lime blossom. Extremely primary today, but already hinting at great incipient complexity, with notes of talc, citrus skin, white flowers and white pepper. Dense and fat with sheer extract; a real mouthful of liquid minerals. Superconcentrated, seamless and penetrating. " (07/2004)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 94ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More serious and foreboding as well as opulent and close to full maturity is the sexy, voluptuously textured, deep, concentrated, dense plum/purple-colored 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. Fashioned from the estate’s finest Cabernet lots, it possesses terrific ripeness, a silky, plush texture, a big, full-bodied, broad, savory, deep, well-textured mouthfeel, and a 45-second finish. This gorgeous wine will offer both intellectual and hedonistic pleasure for another 12-15 years. This enviable and venerable winery high on top Spring Mountain straddles the Napa and Sonoma county lines. These three sensational 2002s are all capable of lasting another 10-15+ years. 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah (98RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A step up from the Grenache, the blockbuster-styled 2012 Syrah Stock checks in as a blend of 84% Syrah, 7% Grenache, 6% Petit Sirah, and the rest Viognier and Mourvedre, that was fermented with 32% whole clusters and aged in just over half new French oak. It offers stunning notes of blackcurrants, cassis, smoked meats, ground pepper and wild herbs to go with a full-bodied, unctuous, layered, yet always graceful and elegant feel on the palate. Nicely structured, with perfect overall balance, it still has the open-knit character of the vintage, yet has plenty of underlying structure, which at the moment is slightly hidden by the wine's lavish fruit. It will be better in 2-3 years, and have two decades of overall longevity. (JD)" (08/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (99RP, 97WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the top wines in this incredible vintage is Avril's 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape, which is the normal blend of 65% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah and the rest of mix of permitted varieties. Brought up all in older foudre, it's a blockbuster, almost over-the-top, effort that gives up notes of kirsch, incense, dried flowers, spice and pepper. Deep, full-bodied, massively concentrated, unctuous and downright sexy ... (JD)" (09/2015)

2010 Larkmead Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Larkmead Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95JS, 95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Larkmead’s entry-level 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate captivates all of the senses from the very first taste. A huge, opulent yet structured Cabernet, the 2010 shows off tons of richness, power and structure, all while maintaining considerable detail and nuance. Black currants, melted road tar and asphalt blast thorough to the intense, palate-staining finish. I can’t imagine this being ready to drink before its 10th birthday. The 2010 is 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec. This is a great 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030. 95+ points. I was completely blown away by Larkmead this year. The 2010s are simply phenomenal across the board. (AG)" (12/2012)

Wine Spectator: "A juicy and brambly style, with thick plum skin, raspberry and blackberry fruit at the core, lined with toasted spice, roasted apple wood and dark licorice snap notes. The dark fruit is offset nicely by a perfumy black tea note, and the finish is lined with a fine minerality, with nice grip for balance overall. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Bruno Clair Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Clos-St.-Jacques" (92RP, 91BH, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Clair's 2007 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St.-Jacques smells of ripe black raspberry, black tea, cassis, iris, and rose petal. Persistent inner-mouth florality sets off the richness of fruit on a palate of finely-integrated tannin, the whole complimented by savory, saliva-inducing salinity that lingers with admirable length for the vintage. This is more charming if less dense than the corresponding Cazetiers, but given the track record of this site and bottling over the years, it would be hard for me to imagine less than a decade's worth of delightful drinkability. Rita Hills Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Absolutely prodigious, the 2008 Syrah Donna’s is aged completely in neutral French oak (as are its two siblings), and a generous amount of stems/whole clusters were used during the winemaking (approximately 80%). From a four-acre block in the Melville vineyard, it boasts an inky/purple color as well as a beautiful bouquet of spring flowers, blueberries, blackberries, graphite, and camphor, sensational concentration, a full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning purity and succulence, and a whoppingly long, seamless, 45-second finish. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Chevillon 2008 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Vaucrains projects an amazing sense of deep, dark concentration. Latakia tobacco; peat; rushed stone; roasted red meats; soy; and ripe, fresh blackberry inform the nose and absolutely stain the palate. The tannins here are as ultra-fine as they are formidable, and the tug on my salivary glands as relentless as are the finishing flavors. If this doesn’t leave you reaching for a napkin or your lips fluttering, probably no wine will. The energy and salinity here render a wine that you feel as if you must strain through your teeth nonetheless fleet-of-foot, enticing, and invigorating. (DS)" (06/2010)

This wine is atypically massive for this vintage. Muscular and structured, with huge fruit and richness, it was made from fully ripened fruit and an extremely late harvest. Bid on this 8-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Vincent Paris "Granit 60" Cornas ((91-93RP), 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More crushed rock, graphite, and scorched earth notes as well as additional structure and tannin are evident in the inky/purple-tinged 2007 Cornas Granite 60 Vieilles Vignes. This dense, full-bodied effort reveals moderately sweet tannin and decent acidity. It should be drinkable in 2-3 years, and keep for 15 years. These impressive, quasi-modern-styled Cornas reveal the influence of barrique aging, but there is no doubting their savage blast of blue and black fruits as well as spring flowers. 2007 Shadow Canyon "Larner Vineyard" Santa Ynez Valley Grenache
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2007 Shadow Canyon "Larner Vineyard" Santa Ynez Valley Grenache (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Grenache from the Larner Vineyard (95% Grenache and 5% Syrah) is a killer. Blackberry and kirsch liqueur notes intermixed with incense and camphor soar from the glass of this dense, purple-colored wine. Full-bodied, with terrific fruit intensity, a beautiful, layered texture, a superb finish, and admirable equilibrium, this wine should drink well for at least another decade. (RP)" (08/2010)

1995 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (95RP, 94WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine of extraordinary intensity and accessibility, the 1995 Cos d'Estournel is a sexier, more hedonistic offering than the muscular, backward 1996. Opulent, with forward aromatics (gobs of black fruits intermixed with toasty pain grille scents and a boatload of spice), this terrific Cos possesses remarkable intensity, full body, and layers of jammy fruit nicely framed by the wine's new oak. Because of low acidity and sweet tannin, the 1995 will be difficult to resist young, although it will age for 2-3 decades. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2025. (RP)" (02/1998)

1995 Araujo "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Araujo "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Araujo's Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard has become a benchmark. I believe the 1995 is the finest produced under the Araujo regime. It is close to perfection. The wine combines extraordinary power and richness with remarkable complexity and finesse. The saturated purple/black color is followed by aromas of sweet vanillin intermixed with riveting scents of black currants, minerals, exotic spices, coffee, and toast. There is nothing garish about this subtle yet powerful giant of a wine. A Napa Valley classic, it is full-bodied and extremely rich, yet retains its sense of balance and symmetry. This fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon should age effortlessly for 30 or more years." (12/1998)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Barde-Haut, St-Emilion (92RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A great sleeper of the vintage, this fully mature wine, made by Helene Garcin, has loads of deep raspberry and black cherry fruit with hints of licorice, toasty oak, and spice box. It is plush, succulent, and hedonistic, yet at the same time complex. I loved their 1998, and this wine seems to have turned out just as well. It has reached full maturity, where it should stay for at least a 10 to 15-year period. (RP)" (06/2010)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1999 Bond "Matriarch" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 91RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Those lots deemed not quite up to the standards of the Melbury, Vecina, and St. Eden labels are blended together to form Bond’s second wine, The Matriarch. This is a second wine in name only. The complex 1999 The Matriarch displays a deep plum/purple color along with sweet, succulent aromas of smoky oak, lead pencil shavings, and a sexy concoction of chocolate, black currants, and licorice...a rich, medium to full-bodied beauty. Of the 1995 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Made from Bancroft Ranch (34%), Tre Colline (36%), Chabot (19%) and the rest from the St. Helena Home Vineyard, the 1995 is not as complex as the 1994, but it is loaded with fruit. Still an adolescent in its development, it possesses a dense purple color along with a big, sweet bouquet of blackberries and cassis, a youthful mouthfeel, good acidity, full body, abundant fruit and glycerin and a long, heady finish. This vintage was somewhat forgotten because of all the hype surrounding 1994, but it has turned out to be a great one for Bordeaux varietals i

1997 Domaine Vacheron "Les Romains" Sancerre
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1997 Domaine Vacheron "Les Romains" Sancerre. A biodynamic estate that has become one of the benchmarks for Sancerre. Run by cousins Jean-Laurent and Jean-Dominique, Domaine Vacheron applies a decidedly Burgundian approach to the wines, with small parcels vinified separately and all operations done by hand. The Romains vineyard is made of silex (flint over clay and limestone) soils, that contribute to complex mineral and smoky aromas in the wines.

Dense ruby/purple in color, with creme de cassis, charcoal, and sweet leathery and chocolatey notes intermixed with the classic Pauillac cedar and spice box, the wine is medium to full-bodied, fleshy, with sweet tannin and a long finish. 1995 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1995 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (93RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Christian Moueix and his talented winemaking team continue to rewrite the definition of a Napa Valley reference point wine. The 1995 Dominus (6,000 cases produced from a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot, and 4% Merlot) is a ripe, plummy, supple, expansively-flavored wine with copious quantities of black currant fruit. Full-bodied and low in acidity, it possesses exceptional concentration and purity. Qualitatively, it is built along the lines of the 1992 and 1990. While it is not as powerful or intense as the 1996 or 1994, the 1995 is a large-scaled, rich, concentrated wine ... (RP)" (12/1997)

It is a massive Cabernet Sauvignon that requires a decade of cellaring - at the minimum. (RP)" (12/1996)

2000 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2000 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac (94RP, 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Grand Puy Lacoste is even better than such recent vintages as 2005 and 2009. A broad, classic, large-scaled effort, it boasts a deep blue/purple color as well as tell-tale notes of creme de cassis, subtle smoke, flowers, and unsmoked tobacco. Powerful, full-bodied flavors have shed a lot of tannin, but they remain relatively youthful. This is a young adolescent, broadly flavored Pauillac with an enticing texture as well as abundant richness and fruit. It can be enjoyed now, but promises to hit its peak in five years, and last for two decades." (06/2010)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2000 Haut-Bergey, Pessac-Léognan (94RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I bought this wine for myself because I thought it was a sleeper of the vintage, and I couldn’t be happier. My score in two tastings was identical to what it was seven years ago. Chocolatey espresso notes jump from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-colored wine. Full-bodied, with a silky texture, loads of concentration and density, this is a beautiful wine that is both hedonistically and intellectually pleasing. The wine seems to have reached full maturity, where it should stay for another 10-15 years. (RP)" (06/2010)

1995 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (96RP, 94WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "What sumptuous pleasures await those who purchase either the 1996 or 1995 Pichon Lalande. It is hard to choose a favorite, although the 1995 is a smoother, more immediately sexy and accessible wine. It is an exquisite example of Pichon-Lalande with the Merlot component giving the wine a coffee/chocolatey/cherry component to go along with the Cabernet Sauvignon's and Cabernet Franc's complex blackberry/cassis fruit. The wine possesses an opaque black/ruby/purple color, and sexy, flamboyant aromatics of pain grille, black fruits, and cedar. Exquisite on the palate, this full-bodied, layered, multidimensional wine should prove to be one of the vintage's most extraordinary success stories. (RP)" (02/1998)

Finishes very long, with suave, broad tannins and a note of black olive. A gloriously successful vintage for Sociando-Mallet, offering a full range of Cabernet aromatics. (ST)" (05/2003)

1995 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Philip Togni is one of California’s most foresighted winemakers, holding back a small amount of wine and releasing it at age ten. This year, small quantities of the 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate were released, and, as I almost invariably do, I rated it higher than I did initially. It is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon that apparently turns to Bordeaux for elegance, structure, and complexity, yet retains Napa’s extraordinarily sweet, rich, concentrated fruit. This profound 1995 still tastes like an adolescent. For my palate, it will benefit from another 4-5 years of bottle age, and should last easily for another 20-25 years. It is unquestionably one of California’s as well as the world’s greatest Cabernet Sauvignons." (12/2005)
