Of the 2010 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Sporting a vibrant ruby, semi-opaque color, the 2010 James Berry Vineyard is the most tight, backward version of this cuvee that I can recall. A blend of 52% Grenache, 26% Mourvedre, and 22% Syrah, it has a decidedly savory bouquet of blackberry liqueur, kirsch, violets, bouquet garni, ground pepper, and graphite. Full-bodied and layered on the palate, with brilliant mid-palate concentration, superb freshness, and masses of tannin, this brilliant Rhone blend from Paso Robles will stand toe-to-toe with the

1969 Ridge Monte Bello Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1969 Ridge Monte Bello Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (97VN). Vinous: "The 1969 Cabernet Sauvignon Monte Bello, tasted from magnum, is spellbinding. Impossibly vivid and nuanced, the 1969 is a real showstopper. Sweet red cherry, tobacco, mint, cedar and licorice are woven together in a wine of exquisite class. Even at this age, the 1969 is expressive, intensely aromatic and full of detail. From a purely technical perspective, there is a slight touch of volatile acidity, but that is a very small critique at this level. Dave Bennion and Paul Draper shared winemaking duties in 1969. Much of that year's harvest went into Ridge's 1966/1969 and 1969/1970 non-vintage Cabernets, but a small portion was bottled separately. I doubt Bennion or Draper imagined that their 1969 would still be so exquisite all these years later. There are times when wine moves beyond being the product of an estate, a vintage and a site. This is one of those times. We are tasting history

2009 Domaine de Montille Pommard 1er Cru "Pézerolles" (375ml)
Bid on this 6-half-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine de Montille Pommard 1er Cru "Pézerolles" (375ml) ((91-93BH), 93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pommard Les Pezerolles is rich, round and seductive. Layers of fruit caress the palate in this enveloping, textured Burgundy. There is plenty of intensity in the glass. Hints of hard candy and licorice wrap around the finish. The Pezerolles was made with 100% destemmed fruit. Although I like the wine’s frank immediacy, I also think it will age gracefully. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2029. (AG)" (04/2012)

2011 Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (92VN, 90CG, 90ST, 90WS). Vinous: "The 2011 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) has a bit of a darker toned than the Russian River bottling, and also firmer in its tannin. Plum, black cherry, menthol, tobacco and licorice meld together gracefully as the 2011 opens up in the glass. The combination of fruit and structure is compelling. This is a fabulous appellation-level Pinot, due in part to the vineyard blend, which in 2011 includes 40% fruit from Gap's Crown, along with Terra del Promissio and Walala. (AG)" (02/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2013 Aubert "CIX" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (95RP, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made from suitcase clones brought back from Vosne-Romanée and planted in Goldridge soils, the 2013 Pinot Noir Cix Estate displays lots of black raspberry, black cherry, licorice, Asian soy, and spice box notes as well as an intriguing tangerine-like character. Medium to full-bodied with crisp acids, this Pinot Noir should drink well for 10-15 years. 95+ (RP)" (12/2014)

1986 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This surprisingly rich, dark garnet-colored Insignia displays notes of cedarwood, tobacco leaf, black currants, graphite and damp earth. Medium to full-bodied with remarkable density, richness and vigor for its age, one would think that with this much Merlot in the blend it would be near the end of its life, but that's not the case. It appears to have reached its plateau of full maturity, but it should drink well for another decade or more. (RP)" (11/2013)

1992 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1992 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1992 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is another killer wine boasting a dense purple color as well as a gorgeous bouquet of crème de cassis, creosote, camphor, licorice, blackberries and subtle background oak, and full-bodied, heady flavors. It is clear that after 1991, the Shafers and Elias Fernandez were entering a dramatic new level of quality as the Hillside Select cuvée had become a world-class effort. This beauty is just becoming fully drinkable and should continue to provide immense enjoyment over the next 20 years. (RP)" (12/2004)

2012 Hundred Acre "Ark Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Hundred Acre "Ark Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A perfect wine is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Arc Vineyard from Woodbridge’s property on Howell Mountain. This is an amazingly deep, rich, blueberry, blackberry and mulberry scented and flavored wine with skyscraper-like texture, remarkable intensity, again great, great purity, and the new oak completely concealed by the lavish and extravagant amounts of fruit. One hundred percent Cabernet Sauvignon, as are all these wines, the Ark Vineyard is certainly another blockbuster wine with no hard edges that comes across like a flawlessly constructed dress from an haute couture house in Paris. It should drink well for 25-30 years as well." (08/2015)

Full-bodied, with super well-integrated tannins and a long, caressing finish. Wonderful texture. Classy and structured. Long. 1993 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 1993 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Michel Delon, a great man, is the consummate proprietor, meticulously administering this vast estate spread out along the St.-Julien/Pauillac border, separated from Latour's finest vineyard by a mere ten feet. The 1993-95 vintages from Delon are brilliant wines. Leoville-Las-Cases remains one of the irrefutable reference points for high class Bordeaux. This saturated purple-colored wine possesses remarkable sweetness, powerful, chocolatey, cassis-scented aromas, and dense, medium to full-bodied flavors with a superb inner-core of fruit. Purity, balance, and super-concentration and intensity are hallmarks of this remarkable wine. Readers who find it difficult to believe that the 1993 vintage could turn out wines such as this only need to pull the cork on a bottle of the 1993 Leoville-Las-Cases." (02/1997)

2005 Clos Rougeard Saumur Champigny
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Clos Rougeard Saumur Champigny. Wine Advocate reviewer David Schildknecht says that the Clos Rougeard wines, "display awesome potential and a richness unprecedented in my experience of Loire Cabernet Franc." This exceptional cult domaine run by brothers Nadi and Charlie Foucault was "found" by the late Louis Dressner, who had a knack for finding incredible producers. Small yields, barrel fermentation, slow and cold barrel aging, and bottling without filtration combine to create these highly sought after, allocated wines. Famed Chinon winemaker Charles Joguet was once quoted as saying, "There are two suns. One shines outside for everybody. The second shines in the Foucaults' cellar." This is the winery's entry level Saumur-Champigny, but it is every bit as beautiful as any we have tasted, single vineyard or otherwise. So now you're in the know. Buy whatever you can.

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Occidental (Kistler) "Bodegas Headlands - Cuvee Elizabeth" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (97VN, 95RP, 94ST). Vinous: "Whereas the Cuvée Catherine is built on fruit, the 2011 Pinot Noir Bodega Headlands Cuvée Elizabeth is a much more inward, structured wine. Here the flavors are bright, precise and endowed with considerable energy. Cranberry, pomegranate, crushed rocks, rose petals and savory herbs are all supported by veins of underlying acidity and minerality that should allow the 2011 to develop beautifully in bottle. All of the 2011 Pinots have really blossomed over the last year, but none to the extent of the Cuvée Elizabeth, which today is stunning. (AG)" (02/2014)

The 1986 still possesses an impressive deep ruby/purple color, as well as a classic nose of cedar, blackcurrants, smoke, and vanillin. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1991 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 94WS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The second largest production of Beringer's Private Reserve, the 1991 came in just behind the 24,000 cases of the 1997. Interestingly, these are among the greatest Private Reserves made, and as Ed Sbragia told me, it was just one of those perfect vintages. One of the longest and coolest growing seasons in the history of California, it was marked by cool temperatures throughout the summer and a perfect Indian Summer. The hang time of the grapes, ranging from the date of flowering to the date of harvest, was historically long (I do not believe it has been equaled since). The Cabernet Sauvignon came from the same three sources as the 1990, Bancroft Ranch, the Home Vineyard in St. Helena, and Chabot Vineyard, and the tiny dollop of Cabernet Franc was from the Bancroft Ranch site. I’ve enjoyed many bottles of this spectacular effort, which still poss

A dense purple color is followed by scents of cocoa, underbrush, chocolaty black cherry and black currant fruit, minerals, truffles, and graphite. Of the 1998 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill is a fine wine. While it does not reveal much weight, it is a dense plum/purple-colored, big, thick, concentrated effort. Evolved aromas of smoke, cedar, tapenade, blackberries, crème de cassis, and creosote are followed by a lush, full-bodied, voluptuously-textured 1998 exhibiting superb intensity as well as low acid, sweet, pure flavors. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the top successes for this property during a period of very good rather than outstanding winemaking, the 1983 is spicy, peppery, and earthy, with a fragrant, in-your-face aromatic profile. This full-bodied, corpulent, muscular Vieux-Telegraphe is one of the few wines made during the estate's high-tech period that displays some of the old, burly, thick character of pre-1979 vintages. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From an under-the-radar vintage, the 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape is another full-bodied, layered and beautifully rich wine from this estate. Up-front, perfumed (kirsch and assorted red fruits, leather, wild flowers), concentrated and layered, it-s drinking nicely now and will continue to do so for at least another 5-7 years. 2011 Domaine Nicolas Rossignol Volnay 1er Cru "Ronceret"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Nicolas Rossignol Volnay 1er Cru "Ronceret" (94BH, (90-92ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Sweet Spot, Outstanding* This is almost as aromatically elegant with pure essence of raspberry and cherry liqueur aromas that evidence background hints of wet stone and spice. There is good volume and excellent punch to the round and supple medium weight flavors that possess a dusty mouth feel before culminating in a relatively powerful and impeccably well-balanced finish. This doesn't have the same overall class as the Caillerets but there is actually more here. Worth a search to find." (04/2013)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (92WS, 90ST). Wine Spectator: "Still tight, with the core of cherry and red currant fruit held in check by a mix of lightly firm sandalwood, spice, licorice root and warm stone flavors. Mulled fig and cocoa notes check in on the grippy finish. A rare backward style 2008 that will need some cellaring to round into form. (JM)" (02/2011)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine J-F Mugnier Nuits-St-Georges Clos des Fourches ((88-90RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An attractive leafy, earthy nose. The palate is well-balanced, quite complex with raspberry and cranberry notes. A solid wine, good weight on the mid-palate unlike so many others and builds nicely. Very harmonious. An excellent Nuits. Could last 8-10 years. (NM-Wine Journal)" (01/2006)

Made from the standard estate blend of 85% Grenache and then 5% each of Syrah, Mourvèdre and Vaccarese, aged all in concrete tank, it offers up a thrilling bouquet of kirsch and darker berry-styled fruits, flowers, licorice and pepper. Gorgeous on all accounts, with full-bodied richness, beautiful purity and laser focus and precision on the palate, drink this rock-star Châteauneuf anytime over the coming 10-15 years. 2000 Lamborghini Campoleone
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2000 Lamborghini Campoleone (95RP, 91WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the most spectacular wines made in Italy, this unfined/unfiltered, Merlot/Sangiovese blend (about 3,400 cases produced) boasts an extraordinary perfume of saddle leather, smoke, cassis, prunes, and plums. Rich, full-bodied, and voluptuously-textured, with layers of concentrated fruit, a magnificent seamlessness, and a huge, explosive finish, it should drink well for 10-15 years. It is a wine of great stature as well as intensity." (12/2002)

2005 Gramona III Lustros Gran Reserva Cava Penedes
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Gramona III Lustros Gran Reserva Cava Penedes (95RP, 91WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 III Lustros Gran Reserva Brut Nature (disgorged January 2012) is a blend of 70% Xarello and 30% Macabeu from the 5-hectare -La Plana- vineyard that lies 200 meters above sea-level. It spends seven years on the lees and is dosaged with 100-year-old Solera wine. It possesses brilliant clarity on the nose with touches of oyster shell, citrus lemon, wet limestone and yellow flowers. The palate is supremely well-balanced with electrifying acidity on the entry, displaying subtle notes of apricot, lemon curd and quince that lead to a perfectly balanced finish. This is a wonderful Cava that deserves 2-3 hours aeration. (NM)" (04/2012)

2008 Domaine Trapet Pere & Fils Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Domaine Trapet Pere & Fils Chambertin Grand Cru (94ST, 93BH, 92RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Blueberry, minerals and spices on the nose, lifted by notes of rose and white pepper. Pure and silky but with terrific inner-mouth tension to the sappy crushed fruit flavors. Denser than the Latricieres, but every bit as vibrant--and more backward today. Finishes with ripe tannins and subtly complex notes of fruit, game and saline, smoky underbrush. Superb." (03/2011)

This is a wine for the patient and will easily last 25+ years." (01/2007)

2009 Remelluri Reserva Rioja
Bid on this 10-half-bottle lot of 2009 Remelluri Reserva Rioja (93RP, 92ST, 92WE, 91JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " The 2009 Remelluri Reserva aims at showing the character of Remelluri, as this is the first modern vintage that does not have grapes purchased from external suppliers. These grapes are now in the Lindes range of wines, but in the past they were blended with the estate grapes. The cool Remelluri vineyards behave very well in warmer years. This 2009 is very clean with predominant aromas of earthy red fruit intermixed with notes of vanilla and cinnamon, a satin texture with round, fine-grained tannins and quite classical and very well-proportioned style. This is a great vintage for Remelluri Reserva. (LG)" (12/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Taupenot Merme Mazoyeres Chambertin Grand Cru ((94-96RP), 93BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Mazoyeres-Chambertin boasts a haunting, impossibly elegant bouquet. Hints of dark cherry, espresso, licorice and spice develop in the glass, adding considerable depth but no weight whatsoever. The Mazoyeres remains light on its feet and impeccably refined. Sweet, candied notes resonate on the finish. Ultimately the Mazoyeres is all about textural finesse, and there is no shortage of that here. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2040. (AG)" (02/2012)

Bid on this bottle of 2003 Harlan "The Maiden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (96WE, 93RP, 90ST). Wine Enthusiast: "This second label of Harlan Estate comes from the estate vineyard, and shares much in common with the main wine, which is a bit more focused and concentrated. The similarities include the briary, wild herb scents of sage and thyme that complex the ripe red cherry pie filling fruit, cocoa, cola and licorice. As with the main wine, the tannins here are gorgeous. This is a balanced, harmonious wine that combines power and elegance." (02/2007)
