2012 Sine Qua Non "In the Abstract" California White Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Sine Qua Non "In the Abstract" California White Blend (97RP, 95JS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In the same league, the 2012 In The Abstract is a classic Sine Qua Non white blend of 37% Chardonnay, 31% Roussanne, 16% Petite Manseng and 16% Viognier. Coming from roughly equal parts Bien Nacido, Cumulus and Eleven Confessions vineyard, it spent just under 19 months in 48% used barrels (1-4 years old), 27% new French oak and the balance in concrete eggs. It sports a slightly darker color than the Chardonnay and offers up incredible notes of caramelized peaches, poached apples, white flowers and crushed rock that flow seamlessly to a full-bodied, decadent, yet classy and graceful feel on the palate. It’s a classic effort that doesn’t pull any punches, yet also never seems hot, heavy or puts a foot wrong. Enjoy this beauty over the coming decade or more. (JD)" (08/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Syrah En Cerise was a touch more streamlined and reticent on this occasion, yet still offers beautiful black cherry and cassis fruits, underbrush and a hint of espresso roast in a full-bodied, silky, elegant style. Like all of Christophe’s wines, it will benefit from short-term cellaring. (JD)" (06/2016)

Of the 2007 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2007 Bone Rock, which comes from the James Berry Vineyard (82% Syrah, 13% Mourvedre, and the rest Grenache, also aged 28 months in a combination of smaller barrels, demi-muids, and pungeons), is super as well. Like its late-released sibling, it has an inky/purple color to the rim and an extraordinary, soaring set of aromatics consisting of spring flowers, pepper, graphite, blackberry and blueberry fruit with hints of raspberry and licorice and jus de viande as well. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2002 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Merlot (94WE, 92RP, 92ST). Wine Enthusiast: "*** Editors' Choice *** Thick, dark and chewy, this is as good as Merlot gets. The source vineyard is Champoux, and it has also contributed a smattering of Cab Franc to the blend, which also includes 22% Klipsun Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a ripe, chewy wine, loaded with blueberry, blackberry, citrus and dried herb. Though front-loaded with big, jammy fruit, it continues to develop more subtle and complex strains of herb, tar and black tea as it unwinds. It has the authority, the density and the impact of Cabernet. (PG)" (12/2005)

1973 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1973 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This was an impressive showing for the 1973. At almost twenty years of age, it has matured gracefully. The color revealed a slight amber/orange rim, and the nose was full of ripe, sweet, black and red fruits intermingled with scents of oak and herbs. In the mouth, this silky, velvety textured wine exhibited fine richness, depth, and a smooth, lush, immensely enjoyable finish. (RP)" (04/1992)

2015 Kosta Browne Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2015 Kosta Browne Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Jeb Dunnuck writes: "Based out of Sebastopol, Kosta Browne’s Dan Kosta, Michael Browne and Chris Costello continue to fashion a bevy of brilliant Pinot Noirs from a number of sites spread throughout California. The big news at this estate, however, was the purchasing of a controlling interest by J.W. Childs Associates out of Boston. Concerning the impact of this change to the wine, the winemaking remains untouched and nothing I heard during my visit gave me pause concerning the quality of this estate going forward. In addition, Browne and John Childs (the CEO of J.W. Childs Associates) have previously worked together in the past with their Cirq label, so I think Kosta Browne lovers can rest easy. Going forward, this team is increasingly looking to own and farm their vineyards, so expect quality to hold steady or even increase."

2008 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this mangum lot of 2008 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (98RP, 98VN, 94ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain takes things to another level, as hard as it may seem to believe. This was another difficult vintage for Dunn. Yields were down a full 50%. In exchange, nature rewarded Dunn with the fruit to make an epic wine that could very well turn out to be a modern-day legend. The 2008 is a huge, towering wine packed with dark fruit, licorice, tar, asphalt and licorice. Layers of perfume are woven throughout this majestic effort. The 2008 should only be purchased by the very patient, but it is a legendary wine in the making. (AG)" (12/2011)

1970 Haut-Brion, Graves
Bid on this bottle of 1970 Haut-Brion, Graves (92RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1970 Château Haut-Brion is a First Growth that has probably been over-shadowed by the Latour 1970 during its lifetime. However, this bottle proves that it is not to be underestimated; it highlights the glaring gap that exists between itself and another First Growth, the 1970 Château Margaux that I tasted alongside. There is plenty of vigor on the nose with dashing red berry fruit, cedar and black olive - just very Haut-Brion.The palate is medium-bodied, well balanced and fresh, nothing over-ambitious, just a Claret in the traditional sense of the word that gently builds towards a sous-bois dominated finish. This is an excellent showing, stout and a little austere, and you could argue an Haut-Brion with its peak in its wing-mirrors. Yet good bottles such as this will continue to offer pleasure for another decade. (NM)" (07/2016)

1992 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1992 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1992 Les Pavots, reminiscent of a top-class St.-Julien/Pauillac, is the first vintage that has begun to exhibit some complex cedar, lead pencil, and cassis aromas. Medium to full-bodied, with impressive richness, this layered, intense yet balanced wine still needs another 2-3 years of cellaring, although it reveals more immediate charm and secondary aromas than its three younger siblings. It is a wine that will last for at least 20+ years. The blend for Peter Michael's Les Pavots proprietary red wine varies year to year, but the composition usually includes at least 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5%-15% Merlot, and 5%-15% Cabernet Franc. Vinous: "Layers of rich, expressive fruit resonate off the palate as the 2011 Chablis Blanchot emerges from the glass. A picture-perfect example of the vintage, the Blanchot is super-expressive, even at this early stage. Citrus, honey and spice nuances flesh out in an expansive, generous Chablis that will drink well with minimum cellaring. (AG)" (08/2013)

Bid on this bottle of 1990 Troplong-Mondot, St-Emilion (98RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A fabulous example, the 1990 Troplong Mondot is only equaled by such recent vintages as 2000, 2005, and 2008. The inky/garnet/plum/purple-colored 1990 exhibits notes of coffee, blackberries, licorice, camphor, and espresso. Rich and full-bodied with lavish fruit, high glycerin, low acidity, and stunning purity, it is still several years away from full maturity, and should last for another 10-15 years. (RP)" (06/2009)

Bid on this 2-half-bottle lot of 2004 Dönnhoff Niederhauser Hermannshöhle Riesling Auslese Nahe (375ml) (95RP, 94WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Niederhauser Hermannshohle Riesling Auslese is blazingly bright in the nose, with tropical fruit richness allied to bright citrus and tart red raspberry notes. In the mouth there is sharpness and brightness as well as a complex dynamic of mango, pink grapefruit, red raspberry and pungent spice and mineral saltiness. This lacks the delicacy or serenity of so many of Donnhoff’s best wines, but in its jazz-like syncopation of flavors and the almost jarring juxtaposition of blazingly bright citricity with massive density, offers an exciting personality all its own. Of the 1976 Ridge "Lytton Springs" Sonoma County Zinfandel,John Gilman writes: "The ’76 Ridge Lytton Springs Zinfandel clearly struggled with the drought of this year and the vines must have shut down for quite a bit of the growing season, as the wine only managed to crawl to an ABV level of 11.6 percent. Now, I am usually a pretty strident fan of lower octane wines, but this wine clearly never quite got over the hurdle of adequate ripeness and really is a pretty petite version of this great bottling. The nose still shows off pretty good depth and complexity after thirty-six years of bottle age, offering up notes of dried berries, coffee, heather, soil tones and cigar ash. On the palate the wine is medium-full and balanced, but really pretty short, with a respectable core of fruit and sound complexity, but

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Francois et Antoine Jobard Meursault 1er Cru "Genevrières" ((90-92VN)). Vinous: "The 2011 Meursault Genevrières is rich, full-bodied and powerful for the year, with surprising depth in its fruit and fewer of the classic Genevrières minerality. Today, the 2011 is quite dense, so it is possible the wine is also shut down, but my sense is that this will always prove to be a relatively fruit-driven Genevrières, and that is not a bad thing, as it also makes the wine more approachable young. There is more than enough depth to fill out the wine's broad, structured frame. 2013 Sine Qua Non "Résisté" Central Coast Proprietary White
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Sine Qua Non "Résisté" Central Coast Proprietary White (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "the 2013 White Wine Resiste is a sensational white from California that's made from 45% Roussanne, 26% Chardonnay, 14% Petite Manseng, 10% Viognier and 5% Marsanne that spent 19 months in 46% new French oak and the balance in concrete eggs and used barrels. Possessing rock-star levels of richness and texture on the palate, with full-bodied depth and power that never seems heavy or cumbersome, it has classic SQN white notes of buttered golden fruits, honeysuckle, honeycomb, toast and white flowers. There is not a lot of structure here however and though this is very complex, rich and seductive, even sexy, I would be inclined to enjoy this for its youthful charms, rather than put it in the cellar and forget about it. Of the 2013 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey St. Aubin 1er Cru "Chatenière",Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2013 Saint Aubin 1er Cru Chatenière is initially reticent on the nose, but it unfolds with time in the glass with delicate orange blossom and white peach aromas that remain very well defined. The palate is crisp and tensile on the entry. There is a wonderful salinity here, very good persistence in the mouth with a taut, linear finish that begs another sip. Top class. (NM)" (12/2014)

1981 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1981 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (91VN). Vinous: "One of the more compact wines in this tasting, the 1981 Opus One is aromatically high-toned and expressive. The fruit is a bit contained in this vintage, yet the wine remains vibrant and delineated from start to finish. There are barely any signs of oxidation in this pointed, focused Opus One. The To-Kalon richness is a bit in the background, but otherwise, it is hard to fault the 1981 too much, as it has aged impeccably well. The 1981 is 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Cabernet Franc. 2015 Aubert "Lauren Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2015 Aubert "Lauren Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay ((97-100RP), 97VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Chardonnay Lauren Estate, from 17-year-old vines of primarily the Old Wente and Mt. Eden clones (but in the famous Goldridge soils that are so vital in the Russian River Valley), was the slowest to ferment, although it offers great acids, loads of nectarine and tangerine, honeysuckle, white currants, and no evidence of the 100% new oak it was aged in. This is another sensational effort, and like most Laurens will probably age for 10-15 or more years. (RP)" (10/2016)

2001 Spottswoode "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Spottswoode "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 94VN, 94WE, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Production fell back to about 4,300 cases in 2001, which was a fabulous growing season in Napa Valley and from the get-go heralded as a profound vintage. Certainly Spottswoode hit all cylinders with its blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, and the first in a series of wines from them that eclipsed 14% alcohol (this one is 14.1%). Still dense purple to the rim, the wine is a young adolescent, with beautiful floral notes intermixed with deep crème de cassis, blackberry and blueberry Hints of licorice and graphite also present in this full-bodied, multilayered, magnificent and majestic Cabernet Sauvignon that is shaping up to be a great classic. There is at least 25-30 years of tasty longevity left in this large-scale Spottswoode that still seems to have a vague resemblance to Château Margaux. Bravo! 98+ (ST)" (08/2016)

2001 Henri Boillot Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Henri Boillot Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru (94BH, 93ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The purity here is mind bending and this is perhaps the most transparent wine in this entire group. Elegant, fine and crystalline with superbly detailed fruit and flavors with a positively brilliant, almost painfully intense finish that is astonishingly long. Classy and altogether imposing with its unmatched combination of complexity, depth and focus. While I cannot argue that this has better material than either the Montrachet or the incredible Corton-Charlemagne, I can say that stylistically, the Chevalier is my personal favorite. This is unquestionably a great wine." (07/2003)

Bid on this bottle of 2003 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (96WE, 95RP, 93W&S, 93WS, 92CG). Wine Enthusiast: " *Best of 2008, Cellar Selection* Solidly in the Hillside Select model, this vigorous young Cab is dramatically ripe and powerful. The flavors of red and black currants, milk chocolate, figs and smoky vanilla erupt in the mouth, making the tastebuds jump with joy. However, there is also the structure, among the greatest in California Cabs. The acidity is fine, but the tannins are stupendously rich, sweet and complex, practically a food group in themselves. 1998 Carruades de Lafite, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Carruades de Lafite, Pauillac (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This has become one of the finest second wines produced. The 1998 (a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 4.5% Cabernet Franc, and 1.5% Petit Verdot) is an outstanding effort. While very Lafite-like (although more supple and forward), it exhibits a dense ruby/purple color in addition to an excellent bouquet of black fruits, smoke, earth, and minerals, supple tannin, an excellent texture, and a long, fine finish. 1975 Ridge Vineyards "York Creek" Napa County Petite Sirah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1975 Ridge Vineyards "York Creek" Napa County Petite Sirah. "In this cool growing season, the old vines at York Creek set two-thirds the crop they had in 1974. The color was not deeper, but the spiciness and, what I can seldom distinguish in this varietal, namely fruit, were both considerably more intense. This fine wine will improve further with four or five years of bottle Age. As with all our Petite Sirahs, it should be decanted just before serving to allow it to open up." - Winery Notes.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Barthod’s 2009 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuees is utterly impeccable from start to finish. It possesses tons of inner sweetness in a finessed, gracious style that is immensely appealing. A last burst of exotic red fruit frames the finish. The Fuees is flat-out striking. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A beautifully complex and airy nose features ripe aromas of exuberantly spicy plum, violet, sauvage and essence of red currant. There is a very round and velvety mouth feel to the delicious medium weight flavors that somehow manage to retain a good sense of delineation and energy on the overtly mineral-inflected and wonderfully long finish. I very much like the sense of harmony where the fine-grained tannins add to that impression. This should be excellent in time though note that it will require a minimum of 10 years of cellar time before this is approachable and another 5 to 7 before it arrives at its peak." (04/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine Francois et Antoine Jobard Meursault 1er Cru "Genevrières" ((91-94BH), (91-94ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(15% new oak): Pale yellow. Orange oil, stone, hazelnut and a hint of vanilla on the nose; a real essence of Genevrieres. Rich and silky on the palate, but with lovely lift to the flavors of orange, stone fruits and minerals. Then quite dry and uncompromising on the back end, finishing with a lightly tannic impression. This classically styled Meursault should age very well. (ST)" (09/2014)

2004 Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino (93ST, 92WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium red. Knockout nose suggests a wine of strong extract and extends one's Brunello vocabulary: cherry, peach pit, licorice, lead pencil, honey, jasmine, botanical herbs, you name it. Dry, classic and sharply delineated, conveying a strong impression of energy allied with great delicacy. This manages to be very ripe, broad and silky and at the same time virtually weightless. Finishes sweet, pliant, minerally and very long. With aeration, though, this shut down dramatically in my glass and showed a leathery element. One for the cellar. (ST)" (07/2009)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Conterno Fantino "Sorì Ginestra" Barolo (96RP, 96ST, 96VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Conterno-Fantino have once again produced one of the vintage’s finest wines with their stunning 2004 Barolo Sori Ginestra, which is just as impressive in bottle as it has been on the several occasions I have tasted it from barrel. This explosive, heady Barolo bursts onto the palate with seamless layers of ripe dark fruit, black cherries, menthol, cinnamon, pine and minerals, revealing profound depth and richness. It offers superb length, gorgeous, sweet tannins and a finish that lasts forever. Although it is a surprisingly accessible Sori Ginestra at this stage, I expect it will close down at some point in the near future. Readers who have an opportunity to taste this wine in the next few months should not hesitate to do so. This is a remarkable Barolo in every way. (AG)" (12/2007)
