2012 Domaine Billaud-Simon Chablis Grand Cru "Vaudesir"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine Billaud-Simon Chablis Grand Cru "Vaudesir" (94BH, 93ST, 92RP, 92VN). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Smoky nose but lots of precise crystalline fruit too. Very juicy and full of brilliantly bright-fruited life. Beautiful white burgundy that is only just ready. Very neat. Doesn’t have the density of the Bachelet-Monnot Bâtard-Montrachet 2011 but this is beautifully balanced. " (10/2014)

Wine Enthusiast: "This is a wine that speaks of its terroir, the chalk soil coming out in a very mineral, austere character. 1998 Colgin "Herb Lamb" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Colgin "Herb Lamb" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93VN, 91WS, 90RP). Vinous: "Deep ruby. Exotic, complex nose features smoky raspberry, black cherry, grilled nuts and an intriguing floral nuance. Juicy, dense and intensely flavored, with impressive sweetness for the year; notes of blackcurrant, black cherry, roast coffee and dill. The acids come across as firm for a wine with a pH of 3.9. The floral character, which comes from the volcanic tufa soil on this very steep, terraced, northeast-facing hillside, repeats on the long finish, which features lush, soft tannins rare for the vintage. Developing nicely; this may not get much additional racking before it is bottled in May, says new winemaker Mark Aubert, who took over from Helen Turley last spring. (ST)" (05/2000)

Of the 2012 Bedrock Wine Company "Monte Rosso" Sonoma Valley Zinfandel,Vinous writes: "The 2012 Zinfandel Monte Rosso is fabulous. Dark red and purplish fruit, violets, rose petals, spices and licorice all jump from the glass in a rich, full-bodied Zinfandel endowed with stunning depth and richness. All of the elements are in balance in a wine that captures the essence of this great site. Graphite, iron, smoke and mineral notes provide the backbone for the exuberant fruit. 1997 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95VN, 94WS, 90ST). Vinous: "The 1997 Opus One tastes like it was made yesterday, not 16 years ago. One of the most opulent, racy wines in this vertical, the 1997 literally explodes from the glass. Juicy dark red cherries, menthol, tobacco and licorice all make an appearance as the 1997 opens up over time. Readers holding the 1997 are in for a thrill. Even though the growing season was defined by hot weather, a short maturation cycle and a large crop, the wine turned out beautifully. In 1997 the blend is 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, 4% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot, a first for Opus One. (AG)" (06/2013)

2014 Realm "Beckstoffer To Kalon" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Realm "Beckstoffer To Kalon" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer to Kalon Vineyard, coming from clones 4 and 337 from that famous first-growth Oakville vineyard of 90 acres. Remarkably, the Robert Mondavi winery still owns even larger portion of the To Kalon Vineyard, but certainly doesn’t exploit it to the extent that most purchasers of Beckstoffer To Kalon fruit do. This cuvée of 450 cases is closer to a Château Latour in a great vintage than you might believe, since it’s from Napa Valley. Notes of graphite, charcoal, blackcurrant liqueur and cedar wood are followed by a muscular, full-bodied wine with fabulous purity, a skyscraper-like texture and a long, long finish, with moderately sweet, ripe tannin. Give it several years of cellaring and drink it over the following three decades, as it is a fabulous effort. 97+ (RP)" (12/2016)

2007 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Combe Aux Moines" Vieille Vigne
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Combe Aux Moines" Vieille Vigne (93ST, 90BH, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full red. Wild small red fruits are lifted by pungent minerality on the nose. Bright and high-pitched on the palate, showing the captivating sweetness of the year but dominated by its tannic spine today. At once sweeter and firmer than the Cherbaudes, and more vertical in its shape. Finishes with superb lingering perfume. I'd wait three or four years on this beauty. At this point in our tasting, Fourrier told me that acidity levels at this domain were higher in 2007 than in 2005. (ST)" (04/2010)

Of the 2013 Carlisle "Pagani Ranch" Sonoma Valley Zinfandel,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2013 Zinfandel Pagani Ranch (90% Zinfandel and 10% mixed blacks from a vineyard planted in the 1890s) offers beautiful brambleberry, mulberry and briary fruit notes, with a dense opaque color (one of the deepest-colored of all of these 2013s), and great fruit on the attack and mid-palate. 2012 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (96RP, 92VN, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Heart Stone Vineyard is 43% Syrah, 41% Grenache and 16% Mourvedre that was aged mostly in concrete (the ’11 was aged 100% in concrete) yet also saw some new and neutral puncheons. Fermented with 40% whole clusters, it’s a big, burly effort that has beautiful creme de cassis, black raspberry, crushed violets, vanilla bean and exotic flower-like qualities all emerging from the glass. It too has a structured feel, with high, yet ripe tannin, so short-term cellaring is also advised here. (JD)" (08/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Dense black cherry and earthy black currant fruit intermixed with hints of underbrush and herbs result in a sweet, fragrant bouquet. This wine exhibits excellent ripeness, outstanding depth, and plenty of upside potential. Accessible at present, it should evolve nicely for 5-8 years or more. (RP)" (08/2009)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Corton Clos du Roi reveals superb aromatic complexity and delineation, with expressive floral scents that are woven into the fruit. This is intense and powerful, but also marvelously elegant. It is a wine for those who can afford to be patient. The higher altitude of this site helped preserve a measure of freshness, which was quite welcome in 2009. Anticipated maturity: 2029-2049. (AG)" (05/2011)

Complex, aromatic nose combines black raspberry, sassafras, mocha, dried flowers and underbrush. Broad, sweet and deep, with brambly berry and underbrush flavors complemented by cola and spices. Offers a more generous, fleshy texture than the village wines and finishes firm and persistent, with dusty tannins and sweet fruit. (ST)" (03/2010)

It boasts a deep purple color along with a classic bouquet of spring flowers, black currants, blackberries, vanillin and graphite. Of the 2012 Larkmead "Solari" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Solari (100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in 70% new French oak) is even better than I thought last year. This spectacular wine boasts notes of white chocolate, hot gravel, crème de cassis, blackberries, licorice and forest floor. A subtle smoky barbecue character is noticeable in the background. This is a thrilling, full-bodied, majestic Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next 25-30 years, although its tannic structure suggests cellaring it for 2-5 years will be beneficial. 2013 Blankiet "Rive Droite - Paradise Hills Vineyard" Napa Valley Red Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Blankiet "Rive Droite - Paradise Hills Vineyard" Napa Valley Red Blend (99RP, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Blankiet again hit a home run with his 2013 Rive Droite, which is 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. There are only 300 cases of this, but it is another Petrus lookalike in Napa Valley (which is interesting, given that the next door vineyard is the Moueix-owned Dominus). Offering deep, dense, chocolaty notes with mocha, toffee, black cherry liqueur and even darker berry fruit, this is a wine of phenomenal intensity, with multi-dimensional mouthfeel and a finish of close to a minute. It is as close to perfection as a wine can get, and may eventually hit that three-digit score with another 1-2 years of bottle age. If you can find it, don’t miss it! It should drink well for 25-30+ years. (RP)" (12/2015)

2004 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (93RP, 93ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Les Pavots is ripe and is a relatively similar blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wine exhibits notes of forest floor intermixed with chocolate, blueberry, blackberry, espresso, and spice. It is strikingly more tannic, and closed compared to the 2005, which is almost the reverse of the vintage character. There were only 2,000 cases produced of the 2004, which needs 2-3 years of bottle age and should drink well for 15+ years. (RP)" (12/2007)

Vibrant nose offers cassis, minerals, gunpowder and spices. Densely packed but nicely delineated, with primary, fruit-driven flavors of blackcurrant and spices. Very juicy and suave but still quite youthfully unevolved. Finishes with firm but smooth tannins. This calls for considerably more patience than the Napa Valley bottling, but even today there's a pleasing pliancy of texture. This held up extremely well in the recorked bottle. (ST)" (02/2006)

Of the 2003 Araujo "Altagracia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Araujo’s second wine, Altagracia, is almost too good to be true. There are 750 cases of the 2003 Altagracia, a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, and 6% Petit Verdot. It is much more fruit-forward than its bigger sibling, but definitely displays the Eisele Vineyard style in its deep purple color, sweet nose of flowers, crushed rocks, blueberries, creme de cassis, and earth, super-sweet tannin, well-integrated acidity, and opulent personality. The mid-palate is relatively generous and already accessible and while the finish does display some of the hallmark austerity, like the Echézeaux this is unusually forward. This is certainly pretty and while it would not be fair to describe it as light, it is on the lighter side. In sum, this is perfectly good but not special." (01/2012)

Somewhat in the shadow of the 1978 Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve at many tastings, the 1978 Cabernet Sauvignon provides value and perspective on an excellent, classic Napa Valley vintage. A little detail on the vintage from JancisRobinson.com: "Ample rains in the winter prior to the 1978 vintage (after a two-year drought) helped overall vine health. A mild spring was followed by a June heatwave that did cause some yield loss. A relatively warm, short harvest."

Its flavor intensity, a force of nature pitting those vibrant, sunny floral notes against a resonant limestone earth tone, is something that could only have been achieved through all those years in bottle. While the mousse is persistent and as fine as a mist, the flavors are vinous, suggesting you serve this wine as you would a Corton-Charlemagne: with something equally luscious and rich, like seared sea scallops over truffled mashed potatoes." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus Vineyard is a massive, youthful blockbuster with an opaque purple color as well as firm tannins (despite the general openness and ripeness of the 2002 Napa Cabernets). Almost overly rich, it has a long evolution ahead of it given its firm tannins and off-the-charts concentration and extract. One has to admire this cuvee for its extraordinary structure and multidimensional personality, but at present, even with airing, the primary aromas of new oak, loamy soil, graphite, incense and black fruits are all one can expect. In the mouth, the wine remains brutally tannic, but there is enough stuffing to easily balance out the wine’s structure. It is a young, possibly great wine for the ages, and I would not hesitate to put my money where my mouth is. This 2002 should be absolutely amazing in 25-30 years ... (RP) 96+" (06/201

1989 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1989 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (96WS, 95RP, 95ST, 94JG, 94JS). Wine Spectator: "Delivers so much blackberry, leather and dried fruits on the nose. Full-bodied, with ultrapolished tannins and a silky mouthfeel. The palate turns to leaves, cedar and dried berries on the finish, which goes on and on. This is still reserved for the vintage, suggesting a long life ahead. Just coming around now, but will improve many years ahead. I have always loved this Lynch. (JS, Web-2010)"

2013 Caymus Napa Valley Zinfandel
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2013 Caymus Napa Valley Zinfandel. Caymus Vineyards has produced a Zinfandel since 1975, but their tête de cuvée, the Special Selection Cabernet, tends to get all the glory. We're here to change that! Their "second" varietal comes with a great pedigree and is worthy of its own accolades. Grown in the Butala vineyard near St. Helena, Caymus has not cut any corners in either vineyard management or winemaking. Deep berry flavors counterbalance the solid acid and oak. A big wine and a sure bet with cellar time.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Pinot Noir was aged 11 months in 60% new French oak after 100% destemming and a cold soak prior to fermentation. It offers up deep, dark raspberry fruit along with black cherry, forest floor, clove and cinnamon. There is plenty of spice, a medium to full body, outstanding ripeness, purity and overall balance. Bid on this magnum lot of 2009 Domaine Jean Grivot Echézeaux Grand Cru (1.5L) (95BH, 95RP, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Echezeaux is pure silk. Black cherries, spices, licorice and tar are all woven together in a fabric of nearly indescribable elegance. All the elements fall into place as the Echezeaux captivates both the intellectual and hedonistic senses. This is a wine that impresses for its understated elegance. Readers won't find the drive of the Clos de Vougeot or the structure of the Richebourg. Instead, the Echezeaux possesses stunning textural finesse and phenomenal balance. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039. Etienne Grivot's 2009s were some of the most exciting wines I tasted on my most recent trip to Burgundy. (AG)" (04/2012)

Bid on this half-bottle lot of Chambers "Rosewood Vineyards" Rutherglen Rare Tokay (375ml) (98RP, 98ST, 98WS, 93WE). Wine Spectator: "Has the color of blackstrap molasses, kind of smells like it, too, but the texture and balance are so elegant and refined that the flavors play out like a peacock's tail opening. Smoky prune, molasses and raspberry swirl around the nucleus, with orbits of thyme, hazelnut, walnut and coffee skittering around. Sensational. " (09/1997)

Bid on this magnum lot of 1998 Bruno Giacosa "Falletto di Serralunga d'Alba" Barolo (1.5L) (95ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Very good medium-deep red. Knockout Barolo nose in all its rustic splendor, showing everything from exotic fruits to smoke, game, tobacco, camphor and white truffle. Urgent, penetrating and supersweet, with nearly candied red fruit flavors saturating the palate. A youthfully aggressive wine that really needs a few years to calm down. Finishes with strong but fine tannins and great ripeness. 95+ (ST)" (11/2002)

This is a wine for the patient and will easily last 25+ years." (01/2007)

Pure, restrained aromas of currant, raspberry and black cherry, with a faint medicinal character. Then very ripe but brooding and backward on the palate; as ripe as this is, it also conveys a coolness-especially compared to the Clos de Beze. Big and firmly tannic, with good nervosite on the back. Bid on this bottle of 2010 Domaine J-F Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Fuées" (94BH, 92ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An ultra-elegant and stunningly pure nose offers up notes of red currant and blue pinot fruit that are trimmed in herbal tea, violet and rose petal nuances. There is a satiny texture to the intensely mineral-inflected and highly sophisticated medium-bodied flavors that possess beautiful complexity on the balanced, vibrant and impressively persistent finish that displays a touch of youthful austerity. This is an understated and impeccably well-balanced Fuées of grace and harmony that is evolving glacially, indeed to the point that it is going to require at least another decade of cellaring to arrive at its apogee. 1994 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As is the practice at this winery, they hold back 50 or so cases of their finest vintages for release after a decade. The current release of their library selection is the 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon, a magnificent effort that, for me, is one of Togni’s six or seven finest wines. Its deep plum/purple color reveals only a touch of lightening at the edge. A glorious perfume offers up aromas of plums, figs, creme de cassis, smoke, hickory spice, and high quality cigar tobacco. In a blind tasting, this California Cabernet could easily be mistaken for a great Pauillac given its structure, density, richness, and perfume. This 1994 is just beginning to move into its adolescence. Even though it has 20-25 years of life remaining, it is approachable. It is a monumental Cabernet Sauvignon from one of the valley’s legacy producers. (RP)" (02/2005)
